Pretty typical bar, with beer gardens in back and nice porch for people watching. There's a restaurant (blue building) next door). Good music, efficient bartender ...but, ... there were three (3) "RMU Internet " connections ....NONE for customers? Difficult to believe these guys couldn't set up a internet for customers, but it's easy to believe the bartender just didn't know it, and didn't care to find out. Either way lost stars.

Two sides to this bar offering different atmosphere but a little something for everyone. One side is the more social bar, hosting trivia, bingo, and other fun events while the other it's just your classic bar to socialize with friends and get a beer or craft cocktail. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere and good drinks. A popular spot in town for locals and can get quite busy and rowdy depending on when you show up

We know, it's Breckenridge. We can put anything together and it will succeed. That said, the service is so unmotivated and dispassionate that it suggests a different venue entirely. It isn't that hard. Having done it, it isn't that hard. Just care. A little bit. The atmosphere is created for you, participate just a little bit. The bar was relatively empty. And the bartenders clung to the edges, talking with people they presumably know, casting glances about but really truly failing to provide a bar with a bartender. Service isn't hard. Look people in the eye. Smile. Say something mildly welcoming. Tell them you will be with them in a minute. Multiple bartenders walked up, poured a beverage, and walked away without acknowledgement. They will be fine despite this. But for the love of customer care, give a little bit of interest. Train your bartenders. It isn't that hard. And for the love, flip the water coolers to the other side of the bathroom corridor and buy a new one. Think through your menu placement and make better choices. Come into your business and engage it like a customer. This is just inattentive sloppiness. Also, didn't eat.

Second time in Brek - and this is hands down my fave bar here. HIGHLY recommend the "good day to chai"... featuring the local Breckenridge Bourbon, Chai Vanilla Syrup, bitters and cinnamon. This was my first time coming to Breckenridge. I had so much fun at RMU & the staff was unparalleled. We checked out other bars along Main Street but always ended up coming back! The Sonnie Day wins for the best cocktail I've ever had in my entire life. No joke, and I work in an upscale martini lounge. Best cocktail I've ever had, the lavender and lemon is beautiful and bright , and that raspberry liquor is just the most subtle hint of sweet. read more

A must stop - especially during outdoor dining times. The heat lamps in the front and back made for a great outdoor experience. The serve was quick to make good recommendations when we ordered something they were out of. We stopped in for Happy Hour and an after dinner drink - both times were crowded but we were able to get a table right away. read more

Not only does this establishment have amazingly well crafted drinks its also truly a fun bar. The bartenders are experts at getting people involved in the action and making sure everyone has a good time. There is no weak link when it comes to service here. My friends and I were bar hopping and strolled in here. The first thing that caught our attention was the foul smell in the bar area. My friends and I couldn't stand the funky odor even when we were half drunk. So we left and went somewhere else. We didn't bother ordering drinks. I give it two stars because it looked cool inside and has small patio area. We just couldn't stand the bad odor. read more

This place is a complete joke. Walked in with a group of 8 and had my Id taken and they refused to give it back. Stated it looked fake and that I looked 21 not 34...A compliment in any other circumstance. Showed my credit cards, my nursing license, etc. It wasn't until I shoWed them a pic of my passport that they gave it back and offered me a free drink. No f***ing way I would accept that. That bar is small and stinks of body odor. The employees were rude and we wasted a good 30 minutes waiting on my ID to be given back. Joke of a place. read more

Wow! What's great job they did with this place! Our Airbnb hosts roommate told us about this place on their official opening night of the beer garden. Out back they have a faux grassy area with cornhole (bean bag toss), a hammock, comfy Adirondack chairs, a bar and it is also dog friendly. BONUS! We started inside before realizing there was a whole outdoor area. The guys inside were SO nice! We only had a few drinks before dinner, but came back. This was our first time here, and as soon as we walked back in (it was super busy mind you), they noticed us and said, "Hey you're back! April, right?" Now THAT is not only impressive but a way to make a first timer feel SO welcomed! Thanks for a great experience as we travel around the US for the year! I also reviewed this as "Rocky Mountain Underground" which is the same space (nicknamed RMU / RMU Tavern for those familiar with the original ski line.) Great vibe, dog friendly (leashed and as long as you stay near your dog), great drink selection, and awesome outdoor space. Not much seating room, but the relaxed, chill vibe is worth it. read more

Visited this bar with my family last weekend and I swear on my soul this place needs Jon Taffer or something. Absolutely every bartender in there was a jerk and had no idea about how to run a bar or treat a customer not to mention the door man was completely wasted and didn't know the back of his hand from his you know what. If I was the owner of this bar I would be embarrassed. Completely un friendly to tourist. Pretty much a bar for the employees and mountain rats to hang out at. 1/10. Definitely do not recommend. read more

Another bartender at the Canteen recommended we stop by this place for a drink, and we did. It's a cool place with a ski shop in one side and a bar on the other. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was fun. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in Breck. read more

RMU Tavern is such a neat hang spot. It is pretty unassuming from the outside -- the exterior (bright purple building) definitely doesn't match the interior (stone walls, dark wood). The building is split, half-tavern and half-shop. The tavern itself is fairly small but provided ample seating and a very cozy atmosphere! It was the perfect place to grab a beer after moseying around downtown Breckenridge just as the snow started to fall. RMU had some really great beers from Colorado breweries which were a lot of fun to try. I ended up with a sour beer from Strange Craft Brewery that I absolutely loved. They have a huge flat screen mounted on the far back wall, and during our visit they were showing the Burton snowboarding events. It felt very "Colorado" and I loved every minute of it. If you are not white do not go you will not be served. Me and best friends or not white and we had a bartender look at it us wait for 10mins (remind you we are women) and decide to look past us a take a white mans orders that just walked up. Breckenridge this is how you welcome other race besides white? Never come here again read more

Loved this bar. Felt right at home for the minute I walked in. Not too big and just the right size. They were playing great music. Just happen to be Bluegrass at that time but I'm guessing they have a variety and it's always good. Everybody in the bar was super friendly and outgoing. I was traveling alone and this was a great place to socialize and make friends. Bartender was super nice and helpful. I'm from Kentucky and it was an added bonus that they had good bourbon. read more

We went in with a party of 15 and the bartenders were amazing! We were in Breckinridge for my daughter's wedding and visited many bars and taverns. By far one of our best experiences we had while there. It didn't take long to figure out that some of the bars in town are for locals and if you are visiting, you will wait and the bartenders will be down right rude. read more

Your Boi LJ with my 1st review so put your comfy sweatpants on and kick your legs up while I tell you all about this magical place. I entered and instantly felt like a real life Wild West cowboy visiting Breckenridge 100 years ago after robbin' the South Park Bank. I bellied up to the bar and ordered a Shinner Boch. "What do ya mean you don't have any?" They must have been sold out cause everyone knows that is the best beer the good lord put on this earth. The bar tender tough me about an abundant variety of beers that I had never heard of. I says to myself "now LJ this is where you need to choose wisely." So you know what I did? I decided to try them all. Luckily it was happy hour so I was still able to ride off into the sunset with my discreet lot bag with a giant $ on it and it was still pretty dang full. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. If you're ever in Breckinridge do not go to this unprofessional place. Avery the apparent "owner" is so rude and unprofessional. I've never had such shitty service in my life. First she is screaming every curse word in the book behind the bar complaining about Breckinridge's 25% capacity due to COVID. It caught everyone's attention since she was screaming like she was on drugs or drunk saying "fuck this and fuck that". Then as I was using the restroom I could hear her yelling "no tip don't come back" and was talking towards my cousin who only had a $2.00 tab for a coke. I confronted her about the situation about her being nasty and rude about a .40 cent tip and that she never once came back to check on us. She eventually started yelling at us calling us bitches plus other disrespectful words and kicking us out of her trashy bar. If she isn't the owner of this bar I would love to find out who is because she needs to be removed from that place and go to a psych ward for some mental help. read more

This place is garbage.... been here 3 times in the past year skiing or hiking and some local always ends up trying to fight me for no reason. Not friendly to tourist, which I find interesting as they rely on tourist to keep this town open. Go to any other place on Main Street, better service and more friendly. read more

Great, rustic atmosphere with radiant-heated front deck. Tavern adjoins a ski-shop & both exude the best tenor of the High Rockies. Twelve rotating Beers on tap & a plethora of Cocktail options. Be sure to check out the phenomenal Beer Garden in the back, complete with a live Moss Wall, hammocks, a second bar, & lawn games. Bartender Alicia has outstanding craft knowledge & makes a mean Bloody Bulldog. Live Music, multiple times a Week. This place is sure to satisfy. read more

Our family and friends had another fun ride down the Vail Pass. Alpine Sports got us fitted with…read morehelmets and bicycles. We watched a safety video, signed a waiver, paid, then loaded up in the shuttles for a ride to the Vail Pass starting point. The first mile or so of the ride are switchbacks, so go slowly. Then coast on the straightaway to Copper Mountain. Get a chair to view the ski area. Restaurants and coffee shops are around, plus restrooms. Then ride into Fresco. Be sure to stop at the free museum with the log buildings. So fun! Mornings are cool, so wear long sleeves or a jacket. Jeans or leggings or on warmer days, shorts are fine. Afternoon rides can get rained on. The team at Alpine Sports are helpful and friendly. We recognize their faces after riding for many years. If you do one activity other than hiking, make this ride a must. Reserve your bikes online and get a discount!

Next time, I'll wait till I get home and purchase the same product at REI, where they would have gladly resolved my issue.

You self checked in on the computer to pick up a ticket, then you line up to get your boots fitted. It was only one man working on that section and he was pretty efficient. After that, you wait a little longer, they measure you for your ski length and poles and off you go. When you come back to drop it off, you line up your boots and line up again to get checked out. They didn't really check any of the equipments if they were in good shape or not. However we did pay $1 extra for damage control. Which is nothing. Overall, it was little hectic but with some patience, you will be alright.

Instead, it took over 50 minutes to get them. One incompetent employee was running the show alone, and when a second college aged worker finally showed up, he immediately started helping walk-ins who came long after us. All we needed was two kids' bikes fitted appropriately, two helmets, and a bike lock. Instead, we got a slow-motion circus. The lock was forgotten entirely, which made for an interesting lunch experience. A couple with no reservation showed up, got their bikes, and were on their way with in minutes. Then a group of 15 walked in and were helped immediately--while we were still standing there trying to get one hand brake adjusted by a guy clearly more interested in eating his brunch food than helping his customers. What happened next is what makes this shop not just frustrating, but outright dangerous. We pointed out that my son's bike was making a loud squealing noise before we even left, but they dismissed it as "fine." It absolutely wasn't. The bike emitted piercing, high-pitched screeching sounds for the entire seven hours (see video). Then.....my son's entire BACK WHEEL FELL OFF mid-ride. Let that sink in: the back wheel of a kids' bike came unhinged while riding downhill. We were extremely lucky it didn't result in a serious injury. That kind of failure is inexcusable and a clear sign of negligence with zero safety protocols. Thankfully, we know a little about bikes and could safely reattach the wheel since we were 10-15 miles away from the shop. This place is a liability nightmare and a customer service disaster. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. There are far better, safer, more competent bike rental shops all over town. This one should be avoided at all costs.

Once we were helped, we were informed that the small bike we had reserved was unavailable. Mike then spent roughly 30 minutes trying to repair another small bike in the back. After he brought it out, we did a test ride in the parking lot, but the bike immediately displayed an error code. We were then told it would not provide any pedal-assist power. At that point, we gave up on getting a working bike from Breckenridge Ski & Sport and went across the street to another rental shop. Remarkably, they had a properly sized bike ready for us almost immediately. Once we got on the trail, the three bikes rented from Breckenridge Ski & Sport all felt noticeably underpowered compared to the bike from the other shop, which easily outperformed them throughout the ride. The online reservation process was straightforward, but the experience at the store was frustrating and disappointing. Reserving specific bike sizes weeks in advance should ensure those bikes are available and in working condition when customers arrive. I appreciate Mike's efforts to solve the problem, but the lack of preparation and equipment readiness significantly impacted our experience.
