Ate here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and my parent's anniversary. So many positives: 1. We showed up on a Saturday night with no reservation. The place was obviously packed and we were thinking we would get turned away. Instead, they made room for us. 2. They gave my boyfriend a birthday hat to wear and decorated the table. Every server, busboy, etc that addressed the table wished him a happy birthday. They even gave him a free dessert at the end. 3. There was live music playing and a few couples dining at the restaurant started dancing. It made for such a great atmosphere. 4. The food was AMAZING. From the free bread and tapenade to the dessert at the end, everything tasted like the best I've ever had. I got the scallops risotto, my boyfriend got the stuffed pork chop, my mom got the steak Oscar (a special that night), and my dad got the sausage penne. We were all incredibly impressed with our food and felt the quality was hard to match. We also got the jumbo lump crab cakes for an appetizer, perfection. My mom got a mango martini and said it was so strong, she could barely finish it ( a good thing). 6. The food is not cheap, but I wouldn't consider it incredibly expensive either, especially when taking the quality into account. Our entrees cost between 30 dollars and 54. The drinks cost between 10 dollars and 18. 5. Finally, every single person who worked here was extremely nice. They were engaging and personable and it never seemed forced. You can tell this place takes care of their employees and everyone loves their job. My parents were visiting from out of town, but this has become my and my boyfriend's favorite restaurant in Fort Myers. We are guaranteed to be returning and would recommend this to anyone. read more

My sister, her husband, and I started off with the incredibly divine muscles and the red sauce. There are server also brought us an amazing loaf of bread with garlic and olive oil and Parmesan on the side. We were able to dip the bread into the bread sauce. Absolutely spectacular. My sister had The perfectly cooked angel hair pasta and my brother-in-law had the New York strip with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Melt in your mouth good on all accounts. I had the shrimp and scallops and lobster, which was kind of spicy. I forget the name it spectacular. It was absolutely wonderful. I was disappointed in my veal dish for $36. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't worth the price. There were maybe 4 ozs. of veal in the whole dish. My wife had a chicken dish that wasn't great either. Overall 2.5 star experience that I'm bumping up for the unique ambience, decent waiter, and my goodwill. Unfortunately no pictures with today's review, but instead I'll give a brief lesson in fish market terminology, and how it applies to the Roadhouse menu. Specifically, we'll touch briefly on the mysterious entity known as: scrod. Now anyone familiar with the standard "flaky white fish" on any seafood menu has heard of cod, probably heard of haddock, and maybe has seen the occasional pollock. Usually you do not see scrod. That's because there's no such thing as a scrod. Book a fishing charter in Massachusetts and ask the crew if you'll be catching any scrod today. Almost surely you'll have a bunch of salty fishermen laugh through their crusty beards right into your face, then be referred to as Mr. Scrod (or some variant) for the remainder of the trip. Be careful. Scrod just means a small white-fleshed fish. That's it. Could be anything. They have it on their standard menu, but instead we ordered one of their seafood specials containing the mystery-bag fish, topped with a crab cake, with a side of vegetables and rice. It was not great. The poor fish's recent history includes: dying, getting processed, frozen, shipped, and thawed. Then, Roadhouse honored its sacrifice by cooking it until it was as dry and coarse as a woodworkers shop floor. The highlights of the evening were the decor, attentive waitstaff, decent drinks, and appetizers. Specifically, the warm bread with olive oil was great, made even greater by the roasted garlic sunken in the oil. The carpaccio was ok but super thin (ie ya gotta scrape it off the plate) and not particularly beefy. The escargot over capellini was swimming in an entire stick of melted butter and was rich and glorious. The lowlights of the evening were the major time gap between appetizers and dinner (for our table and seemingly everyone else around us), the above-mentioned scrod dish, and certainly my risotto/scallops. Specifically the (barely) pan-seared fresh (debatable) jumbo (lol nah) sea scallops over risotto. This is an easy dish to make. I ordered it because it should be good. And aside from the above scallop complaints, the risotto was borderline inedible. I left most of it on the plate. It was bitter as hell with a weird aftertaste, which I attributed to either undercooking the cheap white cooking wine they use for the risotto, or perhaps an outdated dairy product that they use to prep the pre-made risotto for service. Don't know. But do know it was bad. And for $38.85 this was outright robbery. Ambience was good enough that I may try the place again. Just be forewarned (as we were NOT when making the reservation) that although the place is open for dinner earlier, the live jazz doesn't start until 6:30 (or 6:34 in our case), so if you're expecting a show plan accordingly. read more

The service was good, loved the ambience, the band was good. The problem was the veal dish. very thin slices, hardly any veal and the flavor was just not good. I would suggest to the restaurant to take that dish off the menu. two of us had it at our table, neither liked it, order something different than their veal. Roadhouse café is in our radar screen for a sometime. Our first visit here. Roadhouse Café is a typical Florida strip mall restaurant on the outside but a real surprise on the inside. You notice right away, the live music and 'speakeasy' style of décor. The music permeated the establishment and not too loud to carry a conversation. The live Jazz is nostalgic and the ambiance take you back to the era of super club a la Sinatra or an underground jazz club in Manhattan! Private rooms were available for special events. As you sit down, a hot Ciabatta bread with garlic dipping sauce was served. You can smell aroma of the bread without breaking it. Candle and a small rose overlooking the fresh bread. This is a good sign! Beside a full bar, a good wine selection was available to compliment your meal. You have a good selection of appetizers ranging from Tuna Sashimi, Kobe Carpaccio, crab cakes, Portabella mushroom, scallops with bacon, mussels and others. To save room, we shared arugula salad. This salad topped with cheese, tomatoes and creamy vinaigrette was refreshing and well prepared. Our entrées are Chicken Parmesan, Salmon with Tzatziki sauce and pan seared scallop. The chicken Parmesan featured a thick chicken breast over a bed of linguine while five huge scallops were perfectly seared with creamy risotto. It was a pleasure to bite into the scallops. The chicken in Chicken Parm is tender and not too saucy! The Tzatziki sauce infused the Mediterranean taste in the Salmon flavor. The roasted vegetable and Jasmine rice made this a very healthy dish. The portion is huge! A huge, well made carrot cake with cream cheese frosting with ice cream, and strawberry is simply amazing. It is a man size dessert and enough for 3 persons! The vanilla ice cream is a local product from Love Boat ice cream, a great Fort Myers favorite! A chocolate cake was shared and it is equally delicious. A perfect ending for a wonderful meal. Be warned, reservation is highly recommended or a must! If you enjoy good food, live music at a leisure pace, this is the place for you! This restaurant is a joy to visit and dine. read more

We had not been to the Roadhouse since Hurricane Ian. We did know that reservations were required even for the bar area. I made the reservations to sit at the bar. We went and had a nice cocktail and left. When we got outside the manager followed us out to inform us that when a reservation is made, it is understood that the customer would have dinner too. Apparently you can't go to the Roadhouse to just enjoy a drink. (As a side note, before Ian we enjoyed the roadhouse happy hour every Wednesday). I have heard so many wonderful things about this restaurant through the years and when my cousin invited me and the rest of his siblings as our Christmas gift I was so excited about going. Our server Jenna was wonderful and the ambiance was lovely. The reason I gave 3 stars was my New York strip steak was awful... I did not want to send it back because I wanted all of us to eat together but I also noticed my cousin sitting next to me did not have a good piece either. Lots of fat and gristle. I was sad and disappointed but I sat in silence and enjoyed everyone's company. The pasta and seafood dishes looked better. We went to the Roadhouse for New Years 2024. The food was OK nothing special. We were on the early service from 5:00 to 7:00. We were server our food at 7:05. As we were just finishing our meal a hostess came to the table and said we need to leave as the next seating was there. What a busted place lol...you drive into this vacant strip mall and there is the small sign and door for Roadhouse. You walk in and are greeted by live music and upscale setting. Um what? You then sit down and eat a seafood martini and pow! Endorphins hit. This place was freaking delicious. We recommend the pan seared yellow fin tuna and seafood fra Diablo. This is a sleeper in a deserted shopping center....what a gem. Yes one of those places you wanna go to for special occasions. It is a well oiled machine to say the least. From the service to the entertainment to the meal itself. We didn't do a very diverse selection at our table but from the salmon to the pasta, it was five stars.
