Let's talk about the chicken sandwich's! They are amazing, mouth watering, extremely flavorful, and very memorable. It was so good had it back to back over the course of a week. The spice level is ASTRONOMICAL! If you can't handle spicy food get the mild so you can enjoy the sandwich. Service was really nice- each time I went everyone was kind and helpful. They have a breakdown of the menu and helped me pick the best sandwich. Ambiance was cute- it's small but inviting. Had games playing on the tv and the windows were open and allowed for fresh air to come in. There was also seating available outside and access to the restroom.

Stopping by this place was an absolute coincidence. Husband and I were looking for a good place to eat dinner, and we always crave Nashville hot chicken when we are home (Hampton roads). When we are in the DMV, we always find an excuse to get our hands on some. We drove past the location, and were immediately reminded of how hungry we were. We walked in, and ordered two sandwiches. I ordered mine with everything on it. This is the first time that I have ever loved coleslaw on a sandwich this much there were slices of jalapeño, mixed in and pickled onion. The flavor combination was unlike anything I've ever had before. I will say that this place does not have any parking other than the shoulder parking in the front of the building. Which is very limited especially on a busy day. So be prepared to park ways away. This places is always busy, and for good reason. They're pretty quick at busting out orders.

4.5 out of 5 stars. Found this place on a Instagram video talking about the three best chicken sandwiches in the DMV area. Really great cut, 2 actually, of chicken breast and nicely cooked. Be aware that there is no sauce on the sandwich, it is more of a dry rub but really tasty. The house-made slaw and pickles were a nice compliment as well on the sandwich that I had. Surprisingly, the twice fried fries were the weak link. They were not seasoned very well and did not taste twice fried at all. Actually the exact opposite. They should've been kept in the fryer for longer as mine were very mushy, not crunchy at all.

Ohhhh honey! Go treat yourself to a honey butter fried chicken sandwich. I mean look how generous they are with the chicken. Got a side of their popular dipping sauce honey butter.

This was my second time eating roaming rooster. I loved them. The portion is so worth the price! My sandwich was soooo filling and the fries are perfectly crisp. My wife and I could barely finish our sandwiches and barely put a dent in the huge serving of fries! The chocolate shake is the right texture and creaminess, it paired very well with the food. The location doesn't have much parking but if you're anticipating to pick up in go it's the perfect location. The seating inside is limited but has a great layout. I can't wait till my next visit to DC

Conditional 5. I love Roaming Rooster back from its food truck and NE days, so I'm always ready to try out any location that gets even closer to me. Can't believe there's one literally on my street now. It's a tiny strip for sure with only street parking - try some of the off roads, but once you're inside it's hella clean and franchised compared to other locations. Big tip - I recommend ordering ahead on ToastTab since you can directly pickup when you get there. Otherwise it's maybe a 10-15 minute if you're lucky alone, perhaps hours if you reach peak crowds. The chicken is solid as always - definitely my favorite take on hot chicken. My go to is the salad option with jalapeño slow, but sandwiches are what they're known for. The slight disappointment I have is from the buns. Not sure if it's this location alone or a side effect of Roaming Rooster's general expansions - but the buns felt cheaper. You can see in the pics it's a general hamburger bun - it just tastes cheap compared their older days, and brings it from a 11/10 to 8/10 for me. That said still the best fried chicken sandwich in price and taste. Compromise be damned, everyone should try this at least once.

Accepts both cash and credit card. Also does delivery (UberEats, etc) After hearing all the buzz about their chicken, I decided to give this place a try. We ordered their famous hot Nashville chicken sandwich and their Honey Butter chicken sandwich. You can select your spice level from none, mild, medium , hot and extra hot. For the honey butter sandwich, I ordered their mild version. For the Nashville style sandwich, we ordered the medium and hot spice level. In my honest opinion, the mild is very mild. Not much flavor. The medium spice level gives your tongue a little tickle. Has a tiny kick with each bite. The Hot spice level is pretty hot. Not painful spicy, but the spice level does pick up with each bite. When you take your first bite, you hardly recognize the spice level. However, give it a minute or two, and you will feel the spice level increase. And with each bite, the spice in your mouth with gradually get hotter. The medium spice is equivalent to eating kimchi spice level. The Hot spice level is much hotter than that. In terms of quality of the sandwiches, they were really good. The chicken itself is not thick, but there are several pieces of chicken and the chicken is very flavorful. The butter honey chicken was okay. It really does look good in a picture sense. However, I was not too much of a fan of this. However their Nashville chicken was delicious. Comes with veggie slaw and pickles on the sandwich. It's good. In terms of cost, that's the factor that is bothering me. Each sandwich starts at $10 which is a bit on the pricey side. Also they do sell chicken tender $9ish for 3 tenders. Overall, the food is good. Quality is good. It's a bit expensive, but it's tasty. Probably worth checking out once in a while.

Great good, best chicken sandwich I've ever had. If you're not big on spicy do the mild.

Quite possibly the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. The OG Nashville was beyond amazing. The slaw and homemade dips are delicious.

Great sandwich, by far the best I've had anywhere. Extremely long wait time and very expensive for a fried chicken carry out.

Chicken was cooked well and was juicy, but breading was soggy. I will give it one more try before going elsewhere.

Delicious. We got the traditional fried chicken sandwich and the Nashville hot. Both were great. Loved the slaw - not too vinegar-y.

Whole Foods charged $12/lb and it was noticeably better. Same story with the short rib I got last month...almost half the price at Whole Foods and experienced better or the same quality. The funniest is the stock bones...$15 for a small pack. You'd need two to make any volume of stock, (so $30), and the same amount of bones would be $10 at the farmers market. I love supporting local places, especially high-quality butchers/groceries. I really do. But there comes a point when you have to ask if you're getting ripped off. With meats DOUBLE the price of another grocer that itself has a reputation for being expensive, it starts feeling like you're being taken advantage of. For what it's worth, the little old lady in front of me almost had a panic attack when they rang her up. I would've bought her groceries for her, but I suddenly realized that me buying a couple pounds of chuck roast and 10 marrow BONES to make stock with would already have me above $100. I saw another person put back cookies because after tax they were $7 each. Sorry, guys, but I'm out.

We didn't have time for the places I sometimes like to eat at in the Row (sit down places that would have taken longer than 30 minutes), and we didn't want to eat at any of the chain places nearby either. Just when we were getting into one of those situations where every option gets shot down until you get desperate and end up somewhere you don't even like, we saw Vace's awning. It looked old school and like they might sell pizza by the slice inside, so we wandered in. Since visiting I've done a little research and now I know that Vace Italian Deli started in DC in 1976 and that it's still family-owned almost 50 years later. They offer 60+ items made in house (fresh deli sandwiches, homemade pasta, and freshly baked pizza) and have small store where you can get plenty of great Italian food items (their olive oils looked amazing and did their anchovies and other jarred items)! We got a couple of slices of pizza each (one cheese and one pepperoni for him, one spinach and one onion for me), which were really great. A great walking lunch, and exactly what we had time for. (I say a walking lunch, because Vace is to go only, there's no where to sit.) I really enjoyed our experience here, and I'm glad we wandered until we found it. A fun surprise in Bethesda.
