This is a little whole in the wall at the Aiea Shopping Center. This only a take out spot. They only allow two patrons inside for ordering at a time. There is a lady behind the register who takes your order and two men cooking. One cuts the meat and chicken and the other does the frying and putting plates together. Once you order, the lady asks you to wait outside until your order is ready. They have a simple menu which consists of: - Roast Duck with a yummy sauce - Char Sui - Roast Pork - Roast Chicken - Ginger Chicken - Char Sui Fried Rice - Oyster Sauce Chicken - Crispy Gau Gee You can either order by the pound or in a plate lunch. The plate lunch consists of rice and a piece of crispy gau gee with your choice of protein. There is usually a long line, especially during lunch and if you get there too late, they run have limited items available. We ordered the Roast Duck & Char Sui plate and a half a pound of Roast Duck. Very tasty and lots of flavor. The sauce they give is also very good. Ordered one whole roast duck and one pins of roast pork. The roast duck is ok. The roast pork is usually very good especially the skin, so delicious. However today the roast duck was cold almost refrigerator cold probably from hanging outside the warmer for so long. The roast pork did not have the typical beautifully roasted skin instead it was very thin and again almost refrigerator cold. Understand that space is limited but kind of makes me a leery of being to wait outside after ordering, too many customers asking for choice pieces?? I've heard that in Aiea they have the tastiest roast duck but I was too late sold out...only left was char-siu and roast pork... I ask what time roast duck sells out, he replied it all depends...they'll cut it or prepare it as you order..cashier sever asked me to wait...then I realized I wanted the yellow mustard so I asked if they have it. He says, it's 50cents.. how many you want with a not so friendly face..first I said two but changed my mind to one., he says next time I charge you! He put the mustard in my package! Without charge! (But I saw a Custoner go out with shoyu or special sauce I have no idea). To be nice I put $1 in that tip jar! It was my first time hearing word of mouth of their tasty roast duck! Today we picked up all three! My Dad will love a mixed plate of duck, ginger chicken and roast pork! We ordered the duck plate with fried rice. It comes with a gau gee and duck sauce. There's also cabbage under the duck. Then a side order of ginger chicken and roast pork ends. The kitchen is small so they want you to place your order at the counter, pay for your order, and then wait outside until you are called back in to pick up your order. In my humble opinion this kitchen has one of the best roast duck and ginger chicken on the island. The duck is seasoned well and the ginger chicken sauce is equally delicious, full of ginger and green onion flavor. The roast pork is a little on the dry side today. Great for cooking with green beans. We couldn't finish the plate lunch. The fried rice had large chunks of char siu meat as well. I eat the cabbage and pass on the rice. For being voted best roast duck on the island, Roast Duck Kitchen did NOT disappoint- it was phenomenal!! I called ahead to order a whole roast duck, chopped, for lunar new year. They also sell steamed folded buns if you prefer it that way, but we made our own bing to go with it. The duck is absolutely luscious, and a very agreeable price for the portion and quality. We were just eating it and moaning because of how good it was we crisped up the skin in the oven at 350f for 10min before serving it, and we are absolutely saving the duck fat drippings for other cooking projects. The quality of the meat was great and the flavor just unbeatable, and you know it's gonna be good when the store has cardboard box floor covers under the chopping area. Didn't know what to order between the roast pork and roast duck so the lady behind the counter recommended doing a half and half plate. I went with her recommendation with fried rice and it was pretty good. I preferred the roast duck but the pork was good as well. Also, first time having gaugee and those are delicious. No loitering around inside - order, then wait outside until they call your name. 1lb of pork felt light, but I didn't measure it. The roast pork looked really good and I forgot to take a picture! The skin could have been more crunchy but that's why we have air fryers right??? Overall, very tasty and I can believe it's definitely up there overall! Easy to get to if you are at Times. I went around 2:00pm during the week and I was the only customer. Ordered the roast chicken plate which came with rice, cabbage and one crispy gau gee. The gau gee was so good.!The majority of the chicken was white meat. I prefer dark meat but didn't specify so that was a bit of a bummer. Chicken had a good flavor and came with a dipping sauce. I preferred the chicken plain. Overall, tasty chicken at a reasonable price. They had be in and out in about 5 minutes. I'd return to try the roast pork and roast duck. Not much of an ambiance. I had the roast duck plate with cake noodles. It also came with a crispy gau gee and cabbage. Although the roast duck was room temp and not hot, it tasted really good. The cake noodles were very crispy which is how I like it. And the gau gee - so much meat packed into the wonton. Top notch duck. We came yesterday around 3 in the afternoon. The place was empty (no line). They still have roast pork, cha siu, and roast duck. We bought 1 lb of roast pork and 1/2 roast duck. By the time we got back to our resort, the roast pork skin is no longer crispy (our fault) but the taste is solid. It is not overly fatty either which I like. I just love their duck though. The best roast duck on the island. Flavorful and tender. Price is on par with Chinatown shops and is actually $1 cheaper. The fried gaugee is soooo good. The best I've ever had. I keep coming back for more. They aren't cheap on the meat. The filling is well flavored and tender with a wonderfully crisp wrapper. Service is great. Hope you are hungry because it can feed two or one hungry person. Ordered my meal with fried rice (add $1) which was two large scoops with a lot of goodies in it and two crispy gau gee. The best place for roast pork! Roast Duck Kitchen has beautiful roast pork with crispy skin and a good amount of meat. I find that many other roast pork places use extremely fatty pieces where you get very little meat on each piece, but we don't have that issue with Roast Duck Kitchen. The best thing is their off cuts - it's $11.50 for about a pound of the end cuts of pork, which are less pretty but just as delicious as the regular pork. When the regular is $19.50, if the pork isn't a gift, it's a no brainer to go for their end cuts! They aren't always available especially if you go later in the day, but it's worth asking about. read more

I finally tried here after how long... Coworkers decided it's a toast duck kind of day.. I got a plate with ginger chicken and roast duck. The prices have gone up, it's now $17. Inflation definitely hit. The ginger chicken is really good! The ginger sauce is a bit different, not as oily as I am used to. they have bigger green onion chunks and not salty. The roast duck was a little dry and I had more bone pieces than meat. sad. Fried gaugee is always a yummy staple. Anything fried is good. It satisfied the lunch craving. read more

This place popped up as an option when we were looking for places to eat near Pearl Harbor. We ended up eating at the Alley close by but came by for a look and when we saw what they had, we came back another day to get us some! We were about to have lunch elsewhere and half a pound of pork to share. We would have tried the duck but it would have been too messy to share, considering bones and all. The pork was freaking delicious! Well seasoned, great ratio of meat to skin to fat, crispy... I'm drooling over my memory of it. Between the 5 of us, the 1/2 pound disappeared quickly. The first time they were out of roast duck for lunch plates so I got the cold ginger chicken. Nothing special at all. It was overly salty, chicken was tough, rice tasted old. Okay, whatever. It's just a take out Chinese lunch place with huge portions. My BF likes it for their roast pork, he enjoys going there. We went again today after months - maybe a year has passed? I was super excited to get the roast duck lunch plate. At first there was miscommunication where they said there was no roast duck. Then as I was prepared to not order they said there was enough for a lunch plate portion only. Okay, weird. But whatever. I got it with cake noodles and was extremely excited to try it. $17.00 for a plate of roast duck, cake noodles, and 2 gau gee. I didn't even get to try the food as the moment I opened up the plate and sauces, there was a huge roach floating in the sauce. I closed up the box, dumped the sauces down the drain and I will never come back ever again. Please see photo for reference. If it was a little tiny baby roach that was easily missed, I might've dumped the sauce and attempted to eat the plate. But this was a huge roach, floating on top. They either saw it and thought nothing of it... or...? I don't know. I can't even make an excuse because the sauce was capped. It's not like you're a restaurant and you look away for a minute and a fly lodges into your food. This was complete sanitary negligence. Save your time and get a plate from Duk Kee's in Kaimuki instead. read more
