I went around 2:00pm during the week and I was the only customer. Ordered the roast chicken plate which came with rice, cabbage and one crispy gau gee. The gau gee was so good.!The majority of the chicken was white meat. I prefer dark meat but didn't specify so that was a bit of a bummer. Chicken had a good flavor and came with a dipping sauce. I preferred the chicken plain. Overall, tasty chicken at a reasonable price. They had be in and out in about 5 minutes. I'd return to try the roast pork and roast duck. Not much of an ambiance. Roast Duck Kitchen got voted #1 for Roast Pork. I can believe it. There was a small line of people outside when I went. They kind of yell out your order when ready. No loitering around inside - order, then wait outside until they call your name. 1lb of pork felt light, but I didn't measure it. The roast pork looked really good and I forgot to take a picture! I had the roast duck plate with cake noodles. It also came with a crispy gau gee and cabbage. Although the roast duck was room temp and not hot, it tasted really good. The cake noodles were very crispy which is how I like it. And the gau gee - so much meat packed into the wonton. This spot is straight heat. I always come here for their plate lunch with the cake noodle upgrade. It's honestly a great deal since it comes with your choice of protein, cake noodle, cabbage, and a gau gee. They even give the sauce on the side so the cake noodle stays nice and crispy. Top notch duck. We came yesterday around 3 in the afternoon. The place was empty (no line). They still have roast pork, cha siu, and roast duck. We bought 1 lb of roast pork and 1/2 roast duck. By the time we got back to our resort, the roast pork skin is no longer crispy (our fault) but the taste is solid. It is not overly fatty either which I like. I just love their duck though. No fishy/funky smell...in fact it smells fragrant and wonder. Not overly salty. Just the perfect ratio of seasonings. read more

The best roast duck on the island. Flavorful and tender. Price is on par with Chinatown shops and is actually $1 cheaper. The fried gaugee is soooo good. The best I've ever had. I keep coming back for more. They aren't cheap on the meat. The filling is well flavored and tender with a wonderfully crisp wrapper. Service is great. Food was good. We visited the store at 11 am and they already ran out of the roast duck. I ended up eating only cold ginger chicken and roast pork. I was hoping to get the roast duck which defeated the purpose for that first visit because we were too late in getting it. Next time I should do a phone order or get that when they first open. The best place for roast pork! Roast Duck Kitchen has beautiful roast pork with crispy skin and a good amount of meat. I find that many other roast pork places use extremely fatty pieces where you get very little meat on each piece, but we don't have that issue with Roast Duck Kitchen. The best thing is their off cuts - it's $11.50 for about a pound of the end cuts of pork, which are less pretty but just as delicious as the regular pork. When the regular is $19.50, if the pork isn't a gift, it's a no brainer to go for their end cuts! They aren't always available especially if you go later in the day, but it's worth asking about. read more

Inflation definitely hit. The ginger chicken is really good! The ginger sauce is a bit different, not as oily as I am used to. they have bigger green onion chunks and not salty. Let me be honest. I've enjoyed the roast duck and ginger chicken sauce for many years. And each time, the owner/counter lady just hits it hard with her BRF and loud obnoxious remarks. I think this time, she didn't think this little lady would give her the same juice. Went in at 11am. Stood in line for quite some time. Customer came outside and waited then all I hear is "WHOS NEXT?!" Ok....It was my turn to Order. "WHATCHU LIKE?!" I ordered 8 roast duck plates all special order (fried rice, white rice and cake noodle). She yells "THATS TO MUCH! YOU CANNOT!!!" I asked for side of ginger chicken sauce. "NO! That's $3." Okay that's fine. Then she says "OK GO!" Waited outside for a minute. She yells "ORDER". I walk in, she's like YOU YOU ORDER TO MUCH. YOU NEED TO MAKE PHONE ORDER! Ummmmm...do you not want my business. You can refund me. You sell great food but you ur attitude is "fucked up" and I won't let u make me feel like crap everytime I decide that I should come support you. She apologized. You know.... This place popped up as an option when we were looking for places to eat near Pearl Harbor. We ended up eating at the Alley close by but came by for a look and when we saw what they had, we came back another day to get us some! We were about to have lunch elsewhere and half a pound of pork to share. We would have tried the duck but it would have been too messy to share, considering bones and all. The pork was freaking delicious! Well seasoned, great ratio of meat to skin to fat, crispy... I'm drooling over my memory of it. Between the 5 of us, the 1/2 pound disappeared quickly. The first time they were out of roast duck for lunch plates so I got the cold ginger chicken. Nothing special at all. It was overly salty, chicken was tough, rice tasted old. Okay, whatever. It's just a take out Chinese lunch place with huge portions. My BF likes it for their roast pork, he enjoys going there. We went again today after months - maybe a year has passed? I was super excited to get the roast duck lunch plate. At first there was miscommunication where they said there was no roast duck. Then as I was prepared to not order they said there was enough for a lunch plate portion only. Okay, weird. But whatever. I got it with cake noodles and was extremely excited to try it. $17.00 for a plate of roast duck, cake noodles, and 2 gau gee. I didn't even get to try the food as the moment I opened up the plate and sauces, there was a huge roach floating in the sauce. I closed up the box, dumped the sauces down the drain and I will never come back ever again. Please see photo for reference. If it was a little tiny baby roach that was easily missed, I might've dumped the sauce and attempted to eat the plate. But this was a huge roach, floating on top. They either saw it and thought nothing of it... or...? I don't know. I can't even make an excuse because the sauce was capped. It's not like you're a restaurant and you look away for a minute and a fly lodges into your food. This was complete sanitary negligence. RDK has been my go to for roast pork. Normally very crunchy and tasty skin. Firm yet moist and flavorful meat. Not sure what happened today. Right after I left the store, I went to my car ready to enjoy delicious roast pork. However, the skin was soggy, and the meat seemed a bit mushy. I'm not sure if it was because I went there early. You can also make it into a plate lunch which includes two scoops of rice and cabbage with your choice of meat for $16 upgrade to fried rice or cake noodle for $1...why not add some crispy gas gee for $1.25 EACH FOR 10 FOR $10.50. Okay I did come here for their Ginger Chicken half is $12 as I saw a post just a month ago and the prices has sadly increased. Obviously the chicken is cooked and cooled so it was already pack neatly in a foil takeout container with two sauces and kept in the fridge so there was zero wait time which was nice. I asked for extra sauce and it was $1.50 not bad but it was a small than usual size container. Chicken was good no complaints but the sauce was just too chunky for my liking, the green onions was the usual sliced chunk and not blended so we just did that on our own and it worked okay...just not my favorite. They are closed on Mondays but open Tuesday to Saturdays 9am-5pm and Sunday/Holidays 9am-4pm. I like Roast Duck kitchen because their food is very tasty . But the prices have gone up so much that I don't go as often as i used to . I highly recommend the Roast Pork or Char Siu .. Roast Duck is good but so are some other restaurants I have been to that tasted just as good . I don't recommend the Cake Noodle with Roast Chicken because they don't give enough gravy and the noodle can be very dry . Only vegetables on it is head cabbage. I've had better... When you order the meats and say one pound ... they always chop more so it goes over .... So I always end up paying more than I expected... next time just order 1/2 lb and you'll get close to one pound ... if that's all you need . I mentioned that to them about getting more than what I needed and it was almost like getting scolded ...haha! Seems like they yelling at you ! We've been patronizing Roast Duck Kitchen ever since they opened. Aunty was so good at customer service. Everything was so flavorful that we didn't go into Chinatown for duck or roast pork. When aunty "retired" the lady behind the counter was not great at customer service, abrupt and sometimes rude. A few years ago, the business was sold to a member of the family. Food was still flavorful and the lady behind the counter is very sweet. Even tho' the prices kept rising, it was so worth not having to travel to Chinatown. Nowadays, the flavor has gone down. Is that the reason there is no long lines? We bought, duck, roast pork, char siu and with the exception of the char siu that day, the flavor was flat. The roast duck just didn't have that basting, duck seasoning flavor, the roast pork was less salty and skin not crispy. For the past three weeks, I've bought roast duck and the flavor is flat. Even the small container of duck sauce does not flavor the duck. The cake noodles were fried too crispy and needed more sauce than they give. If you want extra sauce, I believe it costs an extra dollar per container. Please go back to seasoning the duck and pork well again. If they haven't noticed that the business has slowed, it's not the cost, it's most likely the flavor that most people are used to that had gone down. They are very nice people. Please get the flavor consistent to what it was. For takeout place, it is clean. Thank you we love that you're in Aiea. read more
