I found these guys after I had a very bad experience looking for a plumber. My building is very strict and requires license and insurance for any job and thus I would either find plumbers with "expired" licenses or way too expensive. Rob has done our plumbing for a few years now. We were remodeling a basement, so moving the plumbing underneath the floor, installing bathroom plumbing and redoing our existing plumbing. He even noticed that our old hot water heater was nearing the end of it's life so set us up the plumbing to have a tankless heater. Great forward thinking and saved us $ for the future. Rob was awesome! He even rerouted our old grease trap to act as an overflow catch which SAVED us this winter when our old terra cotta sewer pipe collapsed! Instead of raw sewage flowing into our house, it was caught in the old grease trap. We are so grateful for that, which is why we called him when our sewer pipe had to be dug up and replaced in the back yard last week. What a job. He was great about doing it in the correct manner, because he had to get permits from our village since it connected to the main sewer. Rob West himself called me to talk over the problem at length within hours after I had posted an inquiry on his web site. They solved a leakage problem in the crawlspace of my 108-year-old house, which necessitated a major sewer line repair. In the course of the job they discovered additional contributing problems, which were fixed promptly without added cost. Tom e-mailed me a detailed progress report at the end of the first day of work. In all, the job was finished a day early and $700 UNDER estimate. How often does that ever happen? The plumbers involved were highly skilled, extremely courteous, and careful. I was especially grateful that they were able to complete the job without destroying some newly poured sidewalk and new bricked patio area, although it caused considerably more work for themselves. Great Chicago Plumber for Flooding and Flood Control. I very highly recommend that Rob West Plumbing company do your Chicago plumbing repairs. They have been helping me deal and solve my water problems due to flooding, heavy rains and broken pipes, high water levels. Rob has installed a high lift station in my backyard to stop sewer flooding backup into the house, installed drain tiles, sump pumps, put in an extra pump with back up power batteries installed. Rob has constantly come back to my house to check, improve as needed. Rob and his company can very importantly be reached personally and they come that day or the next day. I recently had one of Robs crews come out and work on a small project we needed done. They ran drain for a dish washer and kitchen sink. They ran hot and cold supply to both. Cleaned out a clogged bathroom drain and replaced a cartridge for a bathroom faucet. They also ran a gas line to the center of the kitchen for a island stove and repaired a disconnected drain in the basement. They did a great job in a short time cleaned up after they completed the task and all this at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Robs company for any plumbing needs you may have. Rob West Plumbing did an install of an overhead sewer for flood control purposes and also some work to correct drainage issues from the kitchen sink and dishwasher. The project involved basement excavation, installation and rerouting of piping and vents, work on the catch basin, and some electrical work as well. The project went very smoothly with no issues whatsoever. Not only did Rob's team do a fantastic job, Rob West Plumbing was the best deal of the four contractor bids I received. The Heating technician, Chris, from Rob West Plumbing came to my home for an inspection and furnace cleaning. They tested CO2 levels, Cleaned and adjusted burners, inspected heat exchanger and flue, thermostat operation, cleaned pilot assembly and installed air filters. Rob's plumber Jacob was an ace! He was on time (as opposed to cable guy time) and was thorough, courteous and professional. My building has very old pipes and there have been drainage problems in the bathroom. He identified the source of the problem quickly and fixed it. I recently hired Rob West Plumbing to find a leak in my basement...water dripped constantly and it seemed there was a leak in the kitchen. I couldn't find anything up there so I searched online for a plumber. They came out in a few hours and immediately found that my faucet was leaking behind the wall.
