Rocco's is full of potential but their pizza seems to fall flat. The pizza is nothing special, unfortunately. The chicken roll was way too onion heavy and was floppy and soggy. I'm not one to throw food away but I didn't have a choice. I am giving 3 stars as the square pie is a bit more promising. Rocco's is in a great location and has potential to be great. Although I didn't get to taste the pizza itself, I made an order for a heart-shaped pizza with pepperoni ($22.95) to be delivered. This was perfect for Valentine's Day and they offered free delivery within 3 miles radius. In addition, they offer 10% discount if you order online. Ive been trying the huge variety of Pizzerias in Bay Ridge, and I keep coming back to Rocco's bc of their Sauce, which isn't sweet but a perfect blend of a smooth tomato flavor. Their Sicilian pie truly is the best, light with a big bite (Im sorry they stopped making their Oiled Sicilian, now that had crunch and was airy). They also have a very good thin Sicilian crust, which holds up broccoli rabe and bacon just fine! The bacon they use on their pies, just fantastic flavor, full bodied, and cut into little chunks. So worth the additional charge, it really kicks up the quality of the pie. I am disappointed that the mushrooms aren't fresh. I love mushrooms, and it seems like a pretty big fail to not be using fresh mushrooms, especially since their broccoli rabe and spinach is so fresh and delicious with a rich garlic flavor. Ive tried quite a few of their pies, whether regular crust, thin Sicilian or regular Sicilian (their best was Oil pan Sicilian!), along with various combinations. The salads are ok, no fancy greens. As much as I love Pasta Fagoli soup, I don't buy it from there. I tried it only once and it was more of a broth soup than the thicker soup I prefer. Their meatballs are Delicious! Whether I get them on the pizza, or as a hero, or as a side, they're just damn delicious! The dbl Cannolis for dessert are always crispy, filled with a creamy filling. A must have after a delicious pizza! I have been to, but not dined in yet, bc of my health. The place looks bright and clean and very welcoming. I am a regular customer at Rocco's for years. All the food is great. Food portion size has decreased over time though.

I came to get my usual white slice and a couple of margarita slices for my boyfriend. He is very picky but LOVED the one from Rocco's. I knew he would though because their quality and consistency is always top notch. I'm also very impressed with how sanitary they are, which is very important in times like these. This place has pretty solid pizza. The owner is an Older Italian guy with a thick accent, he's been here forever. The pizza is pretty good, always fresh. I think my fave is just the regular slice or a pepperoni slice. My friend really likes the vodka ziti slice, says the sauce is authentic and well seasoned. The restaurant itself got an upgrade and a face lift. I Don't think they have renovated since they opened so it was time. The dining room looks great. Much better than the plastic booths they used to have. Now it's nice and you will want to stay and order a penne vodka plate. I love the pizza dough from here, it's always fresh and affordable. Totally love Rocco's. There are over 800 pizza places in NY so how can you really know who is the best? I don't think that matters so much because everyone has their own preferences. As I'll end up saying a million times in my reviews, my boyfriend and I go to Brooklyn in the spring and stay at a friends apartment. Rocco's is like a 2 minute walk for us. I've had other pizza close by but they were crap compared to this. Rocco's has a great selection and both times that I've been there we went later at night and there was still every kind of pizza from which to choose. We've had cheeseburger, ziti, taco, margarita, buffalo chicken, chicken parm, and I think la nonna. All were delicious and the slices were huge and full of toppings for around $3.50 a slice (ziti, margarita, taco and buffalo chicken came to $14). Two of us couldn't even eat it all so that was PLENTY of food for the price. They have lots of other Italian food that we haven't gotten to try yet because we can't get beyond the amazing pizza!
