Having just moved to the area we've been on the hunt for some good happy hours close to home, and BINGO! Roccos, has a cool NY style pub feel to it, plenty of flat screens for the sports fans, and the food is excellent! Happy hour starts at 3pm everyday, and consists of half off/two for one on ALL drinks until 7pm! and they don't skimp on the good stuff! Seating can be a little dicey so get there early, all in all this place is awesome! read more

My expectations were certainly met and also exceeded based on the three star review. Moseyed my way in for happy hour; here, you can find two for one drinks, but unfortunately no discount for any of the food , already pretty damn pricey. Bartenders make an effort to remember your name and shake your hand after each transaction. That, you rarely find in Los Angeles, believe me! Ordered the small cheese pizza for ten dollars. It is indeed small, but for a valley pizza it sure packed a wallop, especially the sauce. Maybe I was just in the mood for pizza that day, but I truly did enjoy it. Oh, and I met presumably my future roommate there. This leads me to believe the patrons to be extremely outgoing and approachable. For that, I'm giving five star review, but the restaurant should consider half off appetizers , too. read more

I am giving a three stars for the following reasons. I went with some friends to watch the dodger game and escape the 100 degree weather. We only got to order the cheese garlic bread because it was so unbelievably hot inside. I mean stepping outside was better at this point. It seems like we weren't the only people asking if the AC was working. They kept saying yes but it really didn't feel like it. The waitress was really nice but we just couldn't be in there any longer we it felt so hot that we went somewhere else. Again I had no chance to eat the food so I can't give my review on that but just the environment inside. If your going to be a business in the valley please make sure your AC is working. read more

Wow. These Studio City taverns are rocking. We had a tomato, basil, cheese pizza, which was as delicious as fellow Yelpers promised. The fries were solid. Happy Hour is slightly annoying but pretty good. It's a 2 for 1 deal, and you have to get 2 of the same drink for the price of 1. It's not a big deal if you like to drink anyways or a friend wants the second drink. The liquor and wine menu is pretty extensive for a tavern. I was impressed. I got here half an hour before my group's reservation. The staff was very friendly and allowed me to kick it at the bar while I waited for my friends to show up. Service was friendly and quick. Like any bar/tavern, it was SUPER loud. We were seated outside, so I can't imagine what inside seating would sound like. I definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time. We happened to go during the USA vs. Mexico soccer game, and it was packed by 6 pm. read more

Came here last night just to find a place to hang out and talk with friends from out of town and was not pleased with the service or drinks. It was definitely a last minute choice cause we still wanted to hang out but the drinks were by far the nastiest drinks I have ever tasted. Main purpose coming here was to have a good drink with good friends and vibes but was unsuccessful at this place. DO NOT ORDER the "JALAPENO MARGARITA" it's disgusting. It comes in this manly cup filled with ice, watered down alcohol, and big clunks of jalapenos. I get it, this bar wants to come off to people who want to get drunk but I prefer a good mixed drink over a big cup of nasty alcohol any day. The only thing I have to say about this place that earned its brownie points was there brownie ice cream dessert. The brownie was warm and soft with a bit of crunch to it and I actually fell in love with it. But it doesn't carry over to my overall service, atmosphere, and drinks of the place. Will I come back again. Don't think I will. Just wasn't the place for me and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who actually prefers good drinks. read more

Expectations for sports bars are low to begin with but this place lowers the bar to the ground. Salt and water saturates all foods and drinks. Bland, cardboard flavored menu and mixed drinks with the cheapest 99cent mixers. Outside seating has no means of cooling in the heat of summer. This is the second night we stopped in as we were staying nearby. Both nights were amazing. Night 1 we had mac n cheese, cheesy garlic bread and two flavors of boneless wings (911 hot and garlic parm). Delish! Tonight we had a pizza (deluxe with pepperoni, sausage, and fresh garlic...tasted like heaven) and of course another round of cheesy garlic bread. Everything was amazing and I'm trying to figure out how to smuggle more mac n cheese home! Service is friendly and drinks are good. I would definitely recommend this place. Happy hour is great! The wings on the happy hour menu not so great, they were dry and tasteless. Service is hit and miss, some of the staff is nice while others just seem not interested. We were driving down Ventura blvd. looking for a spot to get a little grub and a drink while we waited for our pooch at the vet. So glad I found Rocco's Tavern! I think this joint may become out new happy hour spot. Its 2 for 1 drinks which is always awesome. Only downside and why I didn't give them 5 stars is because if you order and cocktail, you get the SAME exact cocktail for free. I would rather get the cocktail and then a beer. I'm sure the beer is much cheaper then another cocktail...? Anyway, I had the Rocco's cocktail and I have to say, it was pretty darn good. A little bit of vodka and something else topped off with some bubbly and that was a fruity tickle on my tongue and it was very good. We also had the watermelon mojito, which I thought was just ok. I have had better mojitos for sure! We got the minestrone soup and we got the bowl, but we did NOT expect a bowl that big and also the ceasar salad, and holy cow, that was big too, but the best for last was the 7 layer cheese mac n cheese. Brie in mac n cheese? A must try right? I have to say, it was good, but I have had better mac and it was very greasy and I felt like it was clogging my arteries with every bite, but it was good =) Overall, we had a great experience. Besides the very tiny, awkward bathroom....and the fact that mostly Chicago Bears fans come here....I gotta say, I had a nice time last night. Being one of the maybe 4 Packers fans there last night, it was fun watching the game being surrounded by Bears fans. You are surrounded by flat panels which makes it extremely easy to watch any game while having a great view. The place gets packed. Some of the tables and chairs are rather close together which makes it uncomfortable to get up and say.....use the restroom or go outside to have a smoke. The food was really tasty. A lot of flavor. My burger was probably one of the best I have had in awhile. The fries had a lot of flavors as well. They even had basil on them which made them uniquely awesome! I would definitely go there again to catch a game....and even if there was not a game on, Id probably like to sit down and have dinner or lunch. I liked it that much. FYI, if you are planning on watching a game there, make sure you arrive early. Parking can get difficult and you could also find yourself standing. read more

One of the funner bars and grill I ever been to in the Valley...and probably the noisiest! Located right on the busy intersection of Ventura Blvd. and Whitsett Avenue, Rocco's is very lively, busy, and apparently where all the beautiful people hang out. Went to Rocco's for the first time two months ago to catch the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Rocco's has a spacious patio seating area (including TV monitors with sound) as well as a full bar and interior dining area. The tavern is not really all that big and it can get really crowded during happy hours and big game nights. Rocco's has great vibe and energy. The servers were really nice, attentive, plus very patient as people in my party arrive one by one. My friend and I shared the mozzarella en carrozza, which included huge slice of fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and fresh basil. It was quite delicious and filled up us nicely. Even though Rocco's is located in the prime location of Studio City/Sherman Oaks, the traffic off the boulevard made it difficult to hear the game if you're dining in the outdoor patio. There is valet parking on site but you can always find parking on the street. I regret not trying any of Rocco's famed pizzas but I'll make sure to dig into one on my next visit. read more

A friend of mine and I were supposed to meet at the village but did not realize that the village wasn't opening until 5. I, of course was late to meet her due to having to do a million and half things before leaving the house and hitting a bit of traffic. So she came up with the idea of having a drink while she waited. It happened to be a two for one special kind of day, so my friend got two fat tires for the price of one. She had taken down half of her beer before I arrived so I had to catch up quite quick. We sat on the patio and watched the last quarter of the broncos game while we had our own play clock and count down. It was packed, in fact so much so that I could not see the bar. Came here with two other Yelpers for a Sunday Funday of eating and drinking. They have a great 2 for 1 happy hour from 3pm-7pm every day so that got us off to a great start. Their Staten Island Iced Tea is delicious! We shared the fried mozzarella for a starter and then had the amazing ravioli lasagna with a caprese salad on the side (yes we were going for a cheese overdose and it was magnificent!). This place was ok, If it was not walking distance from me, I dont think I would make it a point to go there. The drinks are a little on the pricey side for the valley, but the pizza is pretty good. We had a create your own and it was delicious, I would also recommend the cupcake chardonnay if you are a wine drinker. But all in all, this place is just eh...
