Disgusting order of steamers. Loaded with sand. . That's uncalled for...we've had them elsewhere and they're clean as can be

Every time I come to town I have to stop here for the fried clams. They're the best I've had!

We were seated right away, though the high-top tables near the door were freezing; guests with winter jackets and hats looked like they were braving the arctic. Our waitress didn't come by for about 15 minutes, which we didn't mind initially. When she arrived, she seemed a bit awkward. We ordered drinks and asked about the $9 chowder, specifically if it came in a bowl or cup. She confidently said it was a "bigggg giant bowl" and suggested we split it. When the chowder finally arrived, we were disappointed. I may have counted three small potatoes in my bowl, and the crackers seemed to take up most of the space. If you're craving chowder in Plymouth, there are many better and more reasonably priced options. We are new homeowners and cook lovely meals daily, so the few times we go out these days, we really look forward to enjoying the atmosphere and getting exactly what we are paying for. We're not overly fancy--pubs and taverns are our jam. Sitting at the bar, we finally enjoyed our meals. The bar staff were great, and the actual meal itself was VERY good. However, it seemed like if you're not a "regular," the attention and welcoming feel can be inconsistent unless you're seated at the bar. In short: good food, okay bar service, but inconsistent front-of-house experience.

The kitchen is SUPER slow, we waited over an hour and a half for two burgers and an appetizer -- we ordered takeaway. We watched six orders come in and go out before we were given ours. The food was mid - and that's being gracious. We purchased two simple burgers that were pretty dry and not very appetizing.

I have eaten here for decades. Food is always fresh,…read moreexcellent fry , not greasy, oily. Scallops fresh as eating out of sea daily . Onions rings nice fry , crunch. Cole slaw perfect creamy moist. Popcorn shrimp tender fresh... Draft beers nice selection, The owners update the restaurant annually to a keep it clean, updated decorative atmosphere. I consider this seafood some of best I ever eat at many New England clams, restaurants from Connecticut to Maine .... I eat regularly when in the area at the Sandwich or Falmouth locations. Sandwich located directly on the Canal with great scenic views and fresh air.

I stopped at Sam's Seafood after seeing on their website that they're famous for their lobster…read morebisque, but overall the experience was pretty mediocre. The lobster bisque was disappointing and quite bland, especially given the hype. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder and it barely had any clams in it and was also very bland. I ordered a lobster roll and a separate order of onion rings as well. The lobster roll was just okay , the lobster itself was cooked well, but there wasn't a lot of meat for the price, so it didn't feel like a great value. The onion rings were fine but nothing special. The setup is more of a quick-service style: you order at the counter, get a buzzer, sit down, and then go pick up your food when it's ready. It's convenient enough if you're looking for something fast and casual, but between the bland bisque and chowder and the average lobster roll, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again. I probably wouldn't stop here next time.
