Okay so after leaving the Fish Head place well that's what I felt like from getting my money fished out of my wallet. Our motley crew of Yelpers headed up the street. We walked and walked and walked some more till we arrived at the Rock it Grill or Roughneck dive bar grill. Been a long time since I've been to one of these. Where else can you find baseball cap mullet wearing missing teeth drunken brawlers and barfly one drink Sally's looking to get hooked up with any man that looks their way. Hey there's a couple of cowboys in here too with their ten gallon hats on and over there is a guy looks like he belongs to a J-Pop group complete with the Manga hair. Three of four cougars on the prowl for fresh young meat. One chick is passed out drunk and is being carried out. With another very flirty girl in a dress that she must of had herself sewn into is getting ready to visit dreams-ville herself. She is barely holding onto some dude that looks like she just met, someone is getting lucky tonight. Another drunken "radnick" is trying to start a fight with this other mullet wearing roughneck gosh why is it that the short ones are always looking to pick a fight with somebody taller than they are. Big, huge, giant gorilla, bouncer steps in the middle of them both. Bakas are running scared until they start drinking their liquid courage again and...oh boy here we go, look out Tony some heavy action bout to go down behind you there. Shuffle board game pushes out to the streets I guess this is when the cops stepped in. The DJ is trying to get karaoke going some people get up there and are quite good especially the big guy with the cowboy hat . Others are drunk and failing up there miserably. Our group has split-ed off to another more quiet dive across the street. While others remain for their chance at the mic. "GET OUT OF MY GAWDAMN WAY" yelled out the "eval waitress gal" with a mean snarly look to her face carring a bunch of glasses and bottles. What a grouch. She reminded me of the mean nasty waitress character from the movie "Waiting" Needless to say I had seen enough and decided to trek across the street myself in search of a more kinder gentler dive place. Maybe with less smoke and sticky floors. Dive dive dive dive-in Gave it two stars cause all of these characters and crazy drama was pretty funny to watch so I got a good laugh out of it. read more

Rock IT Grill can ROCK! If you're into Karaoke, you love to play pool, you're looking for gaggles of hot adorable young chix, or you're just looking for a cool spot to hang out with your friends and you DON'T MIND loud music, then go to ROCK IT GRILL! I'd try this place on a Saturday or Friday night! It DOES GET PACKED! So if you're looking for a quiet place to sit down, and eat, and have a waitress at your beck and call, then you probably won't have fun here! They're NOT short staffed, but as you can imagine, this place can hold about 300ish people, and when you're at those kind of levels, you have about 1 waitress or bartender to every 20-30 people! The food is also fantastic! They have a large selection of all kinds of bar food, from delicious burgers, to amazing french fries, salads, soups, pasta, chicken, and all the other finger foods. Although you will have TONS more fun, if you go with a nice group of friends, I went here with about 6 girlfriends, and we had A BLAST!!! We did have to wait in line to sing our songs, but it was so much fun! And the GREATEST is that the DJ, will take a break from Karaoke and go into playing some great selections of TOP 100 so that you can get on the floor and shake that ass! SO that is a great tactic, as hearing a bunch of clowns with the voices of hyenas singing back to back can get quite niggling after a while! And their Karoake list is totally a very vast one! I heard chix and dudes sing everything from "Gin & Juice" to "Piano Man" to "MIssissippi Girl"!! But over all, this place is totally amazing! I wish there was a place like this in DC, but unfortunately it seems like you have to go to the country for this kind of entertainment! I totally recommend it! read more

When it comes to service, menu, and ambiance, I don't think I've ever actually SEEN a server in Rock It Grill, I wouldn't ever be inclined to eat here again, and I hate to listen to some unhinged mental patient screech out, "Me and Bobbie McGee." I once had a burger at Rock It Grill that looked exactly like an alcoholic's liver. Fairly cheap drinks earn this greasy spoon exactly one star. Rocket Grill's clientele makes it amongst the worst places to do karaoke. I am no high-roller myself, but these cretins should haul ass on back to their shanties. You'll never get onstage when Shelly and The Horsebutt Bitch Sisters are monopolizing the stage for her bachlorette party. Oh, and watch out for LCpl Birch Steelstrong, because he's looking to smash in a few faces before he deploys. Still, above all else, be careful around the "cougars" in here. One false bump on the dance floor, and you could send some old crone back to her sarcophagus in a world of pain. Their commercial sucks a rack of dicks too. F+ read more

Who doesn't like to sing? Well if you're into either, music, liquor, flirting, getting hit on, dancing, or eating.... ROCK it grill will rock you! I don't get out to Alexandria often, BUT whenever I do get out this way, I make sure to stop by here. Especially if its over the weekend! Because their karaoke joint rocks like no other! Lotsa fine ass chix and handsome dudes to choose from. And most of the people that go here, come in large groups, as you can imagine how fun it is, to do a song with your little back up crew! The foods' pretty decent! For bar continental food, you can't get any better! They have lotsa room to shake your booty, and if you're feeling like some pool, they have billiards as well! This review is not based on the food as I have never eaten here, but solely on the drinking and karaoke. I have been here probably 6 or 7 times and it never lets me down. The people watching is so great, plus you get the karaoke. You have the "I think I am great and going to get famous off this performance" people, which are my favorite. Then you have your "drunk and terrible" people who end up screaming in the mic and saying something like "Go USA' to get the crowd involved. Karaoke was a lot of fun. The oldies were the perfect dance music. The dance floor is a bit small but it gets the job done :) The service was slow on te drinks. Our waitress only got the first drink right. The rest of the night we would order one drink and get something completely. Love this place! My husband and I invited some friends from out of town to join us at the Rock It Grill, they had so much fun! We had the best waitress named Kim, she was very attentive, especially for our friends who would empty their glasses very quickly. I came to this place with my hubby around 11p.m last Saturday night. It started filling up very fast. Wow! We ordered late night food and drinks and it was....awesome! Our server gave us a great experience! She was very funny and quick. We sat kind of in the middle close to the bar but close to the stage. Dj was on point too! Karaoke 365 days a year with a great song selection, incredibly beautiful and charming bartenders, decent menu, the coldest of beer, and a chill atmosphere. Meh. It' a neighborhood bar with loyalists like most neighborhood bars have. Otherwise, nobody would go back.
