The food was phenomenal. I got a Rainbow roll for my appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. I ordered the Chicken solo for my meal and it was so good!! I could have eaten a whole plate of just the veggies. The flavor was just so rich. Really good. The service was amazing, my server, I think her name was Christina? she was attentive without hovering, she got my food to me quickly, couldn't have asked for better service. We've tried to eat here 2 times now over 6 months and both times now they have said they're on a seating hold. The first time there was 1 table in the restaurant and this time there was maybe 4. They told us today that it was because they can't catch up on DoorDash. If that's the case then shut down and only run DoorDash. That was the last time we will be there. read more

We have been meaning to try this place for quite a while. Gave it a shot for a vacation weekday lunch. Got there just before noon. Service was great and as with most restaurants in the area, super friendly. This location was super under staffed however with just one server, one sushi chef and one person in the kitchen. Got the Twisted Tuna and a roll. Both priced right, well made and tasty. We both got a drink and a week later I don't remember what we ordered so probably just OK. This is a chain and this location is located in the Tanger Outlets so while clean and comfortable don't expect to be transported to Japan. There's not a ton of options in the area so if you need a maki fix this will do just fine. read more

It was not until approximately 2:49 PM that a server finally approached us and advised there was a 30-minute wait and that they were not serving anyone at that time. I have never walked into an establishment where no one immediately communicated with customers, even just to acknowledge their presence or explain the delay. Very disappointing experience overall. This is a neat little spot to eat if you're shopping at Tanger outlet mall. Lunch is the perfect time to cool off and have a bite to eat here. There doesn't seem to be much of a lunch time rush during the time we went on a Friday. In fact, I have eaten here every time I come to Gulf Shores for lunch. There never seems to be a large crowd. I love sushi and the sushi here is pretty good. I selected the VIP and I had their homemade head banger sauce on the side. The rolls are pretty large so even if you are super hungry you may consider getting one roll and splitting another one with someone else. Our sweet, server, Heather M. made sure that we were taken care of. She's was on top of everything and made suggestions to our group that were absolutely delicious. Tip: if you have five or more people in your party, the tip is already built into the bill. The tip is calculated at 18%. But we usually like to tip 20% or more. So we added to the tip. Visited Rock N Roll Sushi recently with friends from out of town. Although it was 1:30, only two guests were inside which always makes me a little nervous. When seated by a friendly server, the smell of the dining room was not very pleasant. It is obvious, the floors and booths need a super cleaning. The server took our drink order but return quickly to tell me that the unsweetened tea dispenser had broken and it was not available so we all added water to our order instead of tea. Each one of us ordered sushi rolls, and two of us ordered miso soup the miso soup came out steaming hot and my first concern about it was how cloudy it was, I'm a connoisseur of miso soup, but this almost had a thickness to it and when I took a spoonful, it was pasty and salty, indicating that it came from a packet or a box. I left my soup on the table when the rolls arrived at our table. They were beautiful, the young man that prepared our sushi rolls is phenomenal! It took him probably 15 more minutes than we expected. However, when they arrived at our table, we were not disappointed at the visual aspects, as well as the taste of the rolls. I wished I could give him a five star and give A one star to the restaurant. Very disappointing high-priced, clearly a sanitary issues in the dining room and they should stop serving the miso soup. read more

Whoever they have on their sushi bar needs to be retrained. I just want cream cheese and cucumber in my rolls, I get it from the daphne rock and roll every weekend and it's always perfect and it's always 8 rolls that are decent in size. The person on their sushi bar today only did 6 rolls and put the seaweed on the outside??? I've never seen the seaweed on the outside and if you look at any of their pictures online it's not supposed to be like that, now I'm having to dip my sushi sideways for the soy sauce to soak into the rice and the rolls are falling apart. I thought maybe it was all made in the back, however, later the two young ladies up front said they made all the sushi on this five-foot counter up in front, which I suspect was not accurate since I had seen my sushi plate coming from the back. Next the rolls. One was quite good, I cannot remember the name but my eel roll seemed like it was out of a refrigerator. A good eel roll is cooked and warm, not cold. I could have gone to a supermarket for that and it had zero flavor. All in all, I was disappointed. Three rolls. One was good, one was cold when it should have been warmed, one was just dry and more spice then flavor. The aww of the Rock and Roll did nothing. The female worker was extremely rude to both my door dasher and me over the phone. I was understanding that she was working there by herself however she was very dismissive and uncooperative with my dasher as I heard her speaking to him rudely over the phone. When I called to speak to her myself she was extremely unhelpful and proceeded to dump her personal drama on to me over the phone as if that excuses poor manners and service. We are at the one near Birmingham and it was great. This location is a total flop. We were the only people in the whole place right at noon. That should have been our first clue. The rice was over cooked. The service was meh even with 5 employees there. The taller lady with long hair saved the service. The person who made our sushi right in front of us wouldn't even make eye contact. When she finished making the sushi she took it to the end of the bar and sat it on a tray instead of giving it to us as we were sitting at the bar. How weird. They didn't seem prepared for customers. They were out of yum yum sauce. They didn't have silverware ready.
