I visited Rock Spot for the 1st time with a friend and we had a blast. It had been a while since I've been rock climbing so I was a bit nervous especially because I've never used an auto-belay. We were given a short introduction to the equipment (how to put it on, the different walls, how to use the auto-belay, etc). The instructor was really sweet, helpful and willing to take as much time as needed until we were comfortable with the equipment. Finding the place was a little confusing. It's in the same mill building as Whalers Brewery. When pulling into the parking lot you'll see a sign that says to continue straight, keep driving, take a right and then another right. I would definitely come back and then maybe I'll have a few pints are Whalers after

This place is a hidden gem! I walk in and I'm immediately greeted by friendly staff. Good vibes. They will ask you some questions to get a feel for your experience level, etc. The rental gear is in great condition and prices are fair. The rock spot has auto belay, reg belay and bouldering. I enjoy them all. They are always changing up the walls monthly or so you never get bored.

Not a climber myself, but was there for a birthday party. This place was an absolute blast to watch. I can only imagine how much fun it would e to haul my lard butt up the walls. There were varying levels of difficulty, straight up to inverted. There were areas for kids to start to learn and build confidence. The place is huge and while there seemed to be a lot of people there, there were still many open tracks. The equipment looked like it was designed with safety in mind. The population seemed to run from young teens to the later 20 something crowed. So a good mix. And, it looked like a great place for parties.

Rock spot is a great gym, with lots of walls for all types of climbers. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to climb.

We bought our tickets online and in advance, we did our waivers and etc etc. We did something like this before elsewhere so we aren't new, we knew we needed gloves and what attire ( sneakers and something cozy nothing too tight or short). We got there for our designated time and were greeted by a man named Clay, he warned us there was a bunch of students that would be there for the next 2 hours, the same slot my mom and I were supposed to go. He said we could climb if we wanted or come back anytime we wanted that day or another day, we chose to go down the road to shop and come back and I'm so glad we did because we got to have the place practically to ourselves, thanks for the heads up Clay! Okay so we come back, this place is huge! Climbing, zip lining and tons of courses and levels. Even a kids area for the little ones, so cute. I want to name a few people who we worked with for the day who were an absolute delight and they need praise. Here are the names: Shawn who checked us in. Tucker who briefed us and gave us the rules and Ryan who was very kind and told us some stuff in regards to which course we wanted to do next ( because we practically did them all). The staff here are delightful and kind. And Ryan even helped a child who was stuck and needed help, he sprung into immediate action and was quick no second thought. Made me feel safe as an adult, so I know that child felt safe, GREAT JOB! I think the intensity of this place is great for all levels and there was enough zip lines for the amount of exercise you do. It was a nice view and the staff made it more fun. The music was good, which I enjoyed as well. I have nothing negative to say here. They have a huge parking lot, and it looks like they do night courses and ax throwing soon, I believe. So glad I booked this, we had a blast. Kudos to you all!

Membership prices are within if not slight lower than average which is great for beginners trying to stick to something new. On my first visit, the staff was very helpful and provided a tour of their facilities, and explained ground rules clearly. Having been to other gyms while in Texas it's always nice to see staff explain simple do's and don't's to new visitors. My only concern is regarding kids running under or too close to the walls while climbers are on them, as the parents are either not aware or unfazed of the dangers to both their kid and the climbers. It would be nice to see staff address this to the parents. Overall great gym, amazingly friendly and helpful staff, facilities are always cleaned, and the climbing community is one of the most supportive out there!

Compared to my home location, I felt that their bouldering had a great mix of problems catering to varying different skill levels. I checked the website and it said that both locations had 3,000 square feet of bouldering. This Warwick location felt like it was bigger and had more, but who knows! For those that have not been here, there is bouldering that is on the right wall upon entering that extends to the back and wraps to the left. Then there is some lead belay walls right across the main bouldering. Off to the left are more top rope and auto belay walls. They also have a fitness center with gym equipment as well as a wall with all types of holds to practice on/learn hold types. Lastly, there is a yoga studio that is available to members. I really enjoyed the variety and the set up of this location. Visiting different locations is definitely fun and I'll be back whenever I'm in the area itching to climb.

They do this in a very passive-aggressive way, often standing with a loudly humming vacuum under active climbers, waiting for them to get out of the way, essentially pushing people out. This vacuuming is not pleasant even in areas that are not being actively vacuumed as climbing to the sound of a loud vacuum cleaner is just not much fun. Last but not least, the vacuum cleaner's cord is a major tripping hazard, which shows that this gym has no respect for its members. I'm glad that UMass opened the Ascend Wall--a much better alternative to this poorly managed gym.
