Five…read moreyears ago, this company used to be very good with communication because of Terry, their front office lady. After she left them for whatever reasons, getting somebody to pick up the phone or respond back to leaving a voice message can be hit or miss, especially during the busier summer months. Don't waste your money to buy their extended warranty because Alpha Air won't be there for you when you really need them for that expensive covered repair job. My AC died during a 100+ degree day, and I called Alpha Air several times and left a message but no answer. I finally decided to just call another AC company that came the same day to fix the problem, but of course, I had to pay out of pocket instead of being able to use the pre-paid warranty. I also had a sick, elderly parent suffering in a sweltering house so I wasn't going to wait for an unreliable company that didn't pick up their phone and will likely just say that they never got my phone call or voice message or that there was a glitch in their system. Alpha Air can do the job well if/when they want to show up so I give them one star for that and one star for Terry who no longer works for them. Based on my recent experience, however, I won't be using Alpha Air anymore and wish we had never paid for their useless extended warranty. They got their extra profit back then, but lost a long-term customer as of now. Businesses that truly deserve all their positive reviews have consistently excellent communication/customer service so they don't have to give after the fact excuses or apologetic explanations.

One of our 3 units quit working in February of 2024 and this company told us we needed it replaced…read more The salesman told us he'd give us 3 smart thermostats for free. We had to call them out after the installation at least 5 times in the two summers after the install because it was blowing hot air when it turned on. They were nice enough to send out techs free of charge but to no avail it is now 2026 and we are still having problems. One of the service calls we were told that there was a clog. Another time we were gaslighted and told that it's the residual hot air from outside but then it cools down. But it could never keep up. We set it for 76 but can only get it to 78. Our first summer bill after the install was $950. The prior year with the old system it was $650. Then the next one a little over $1000. Repeat that the following year with calls requesting for servicing from them. So... our daughter hooked us up with her former employee who owns an AC business now. He came out and after doing some investigating of the unit itself he pulled off the UV light from the air handler in the garage. He noticed warm air right away which should be very cold. The air tested 76 degrees which is bad. The thermostat was wired wrong and BOTH the heater and AC have been turning on simultaneously!!! After he rewired the new thermostat we bought, it tested 38 degrees and we no longer sweat the bed as a result of fearing our next energy bill. All is working well now and I can actually get a chill. I was not about to call them out a sixth time. They are not skilled or something more sinister is at play. I don't know. I'm just so thankful that it is fixed because it has been very depressing having spent $15000 on a new system only to have extremely elevated bills. Be ware.

Tech we had was great. He left. Recently had a rodent in one of the units. Was told by another tech we had a bent blade. Would cost 700 to replace. Plus maybe a new motor. Again second opinion was had and there is no bent blade or need for a new motor. I had faith in them. No more.

They're once again helping to deal with an ongoing issue with the tenant not following maintenance instructions such as ensuring filter are replaced. She was told 2 years ago the filters needed to be replaced and here we are again and she is being told filters needed to be replaced. Additionally, the thermostats are set to 62 degrees which she was advised was too low and could blow out the unit. Unfortunately, here we are again dealing with issues with the AC. I am updating my review; this is going to be a pretty long post…read more I contacted this company in August of 2022, our upstairs AC unit was failing as it was 16 years old. They came out the same day and we contacted them; we were dealing with a home warranty company (which is a nightmare within itself) anyways; Kari (the owner) got approval quickly and was installing a new unit within a day. Super awesome! Everything up to this point was amazing! The new unit just didn't work properly; it wouldn't maintain temperature and it would just get hotter and hotter if the temp outside was over 95. They came out about 10 times to trouble shoot and try to figure it out. No one could figure it that out and then, here comes fall and winter so service and trouble shooting just stopped. Here comes spring and still dealing with the same issues. Again; they came out about 10 times, after all the trouble shooting and redoing of the duct work; replacing the coil, they finally ended up replacing the whole unit. After that was done, everything has been working pretty great. All of the techs that came to our house were also pretty amazing; polite; explained things to us. I have zero complaints about the techs. Now we are experiencing issues with our downstairs unit which is 17 years old now; so I reached out to Kari to see if they could come out to take a look. Her response was rude and really took me back. Mind you, I did post a bad review last year when we were living a nightmare and having them out several times with no fix to the issue. I honestly forgot I even posted the review, it was 10 months ago! She asked if my previous review was still up and if it was she would not respond to any work at our address. Seriously?? I would have been happy to change/update my previous review, but she didn't even try to ask me to, it was basically you take it down or we will not service your AC. It's really sad that she feels it's ok to conduct business in this manner. I'm not a hard person to work with and she acted as if she was doing me some sort of favor for going above and beyond for us, however; they installed equipment that didn't work, so they should correct the issue. We paid for a service and expected it to work. I love her techs and we unfortunately have to go elsewhere for our AC service needs, since she refuses to do business with us due to a review that I would have been happy to update had she simply just asked me to. Had two more consecutive occurances where i had called Polar Air and they were available same day,…read moreagain, arriving EARLIER than their timed window. First time was to my own house where the furnace/fan unit wasn't running but outside condenser unit was. Issac had arrived with someone whom he was training so he walked them through the diagnosis process and repairs of replacing the control board. Second time was at my friends house on a weekend afternoon, where she noticed her temp was gradually going up. When i looked at it, noticed outside condenser unit wasn't running. Again, they arrived earlier than timed window. Coincidentally, it was Issac AGAIN (but alone) and had replaced the capacitor. He quickly checked the voltages of everything to make sure everything was running optimally AND checked the health of the other unit as well. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place after 3 AMAZING experiences with them. Always super nice and fast to respond.
