Originally I had thought the Vons Chicken location was replaced by Rocket Burger, but pleasantly surprised to see it is a combination of both fried chicken and burgers! The burgers are a bit pricey, the specialty ones are about $15, but they are huge and packed with ingredients. I got the Super VR Combo which is about $46 before tax which was a pretty good deal. Any 2 burgers (got two crunch pluto burgers, medium rare) a half order of crispy padak chicken (wings/drums are extra charge) and 2 orders of fries. Friends really loved their burgers, the potato croquette and thousand island sauce were a very nice touch. The half order of boneless crispy chicken is a very large amount! I had to remove two layers (layer of eggplant + tomato) to get the burger to fit in my mouth. The beef patty was tender and beefy with a good smoky char flavor. It may not be for everyone but the mayo or one of their sauces, I think it's cut with condensed milk which adds a delicious sweetness to contrast the saltiness of the bacon and tang of the tonkatsu sauce. The place I wanted to go to for lunch was closed so I decided to try this spot. I love burgers! The store is small, there is seating inside and outside. There are tablets you can order from by the entrance. I decided to get the Crispy Onion Bacon Burger. This burger was massive. The onion rings itself was hard to bite into. It was good though! The onion rings were very crispy as the name says, and the angus patty was flavorful. Its 13.99 but for around 15 ish dollars before tip, this burger is a pretty good value. I maybe waited around 10 minutes or so for my burger and there weren't that many customers in the store. This place is associated with Vons in the Strawberry Park plaza (where Mitsuwa is). Two kiosks you can order from. We ordered Spicy Mars (Korean Pork) and Spicy Chicken Burgers (Yangnyeom). Food came out in a timely manner. These are some FAT burgers. My pork was bursting out its neatly wrapped tissue paper. It was kind of daunting trying to tackle eating the burger. The food kept falling apart and I ended up having to just pick off the burger buns and meat with forks and knife. The pork was decently seasoned but the hassle of holding the burger sucked. The chicken burger initially tasted good until it started to taste like unseasoned chicken. Mostly just the smothered sauce on top. Was taking a stroll around the area and on a whim decided to try Rocket Burger Station. It's sort of off in the corner of the Japanese shopping center with Mitsuwa. To be honest, I had little expectations, but I sort of just wanted a (hopefully) decent burger. Wow, Rocket Burger did not disappoint. It was definitely better than just decent. The ingredients seemed fresh, especially the meat, and the whole thing had a very indulgent and savory flavor. Fries were on point too! Rocket Burger Station is a Korean fusion burger joint located in the same plaza as Mitsuwa. It actually used to be a Vons, but they added the burgers to their menu; if you want Vons, it's still on the menu! I was doing some grocery shopping and I saw this, so I decided to give it a try. FOOD Rocket Burger Station offers both burgers and Von's Fried Chicken. However, I'm here for the fusion burger, so I ordered a Rocket Burger Meal and got the Bulgogi burger. Lots of bulgogi flavor in the burger; it's both sweet and savory. Tastes exactly just like it sounds as you are eating a bunch of bulgogi stacked inside a burger. Size-wise, it's about an average sized burger, not giant, but not too small. Big fan of the flavors in this burger and they aren't doing too much either. It's a burger, except it swapped out the burger patty with a stack of bulgogi. I've also tried their Crunch burger which was also pretty delicious, but it was quite tall so it's a bit troublesome to eat. Fries were only seasoned with salt. A bit crispy and overall nothing good or bad about them. SERVICE You can either order at the kiosk or at the counter. I did't actually see the Burger Meal option on the kiosks both times I was here, so if you want to do that, order at the counter. They will call out your order once it's ready. Self bus your table. Utensils and ketchup have their own self-serve station. Rocket Burger Station seems to be a family-owned business. Service is okay, sometimes you might have to wait a bit if you order at the counter. It took me about 5-10 minutes from ordering to get my food. COST The Rocket Burger Meal is just shy of $20 before tax and tip. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I think there's enough of a novelty here to justify the price. If the burger were bit a larger, then I think it'd be a reasonable deal. Otherwise, if you are in the mood for a Korean-style burger, the mark-up is justified. SETTING The restaurant itself isn't too large, maybe 5-10 tables. They do have some outdoor seating available as well. Great place to hang out with friends or grab a bite to eat before or after your grocery shopping. Large parking lot, since it's in Mitsuwa plaza, but it can still get quite packed, especially on weekends. If parking is a concern, I recommend going on a weekday. Overall, this is a delicious fusion burger. There's a bit of a mark-up, but I think it's not too bad. Definitely give it a try if you are ever in the area. 4/5 read more

There are a lot of burger joints in San Jose, and it can be hard to choose which is best. Rocket is definitely one of the better options that you really ought to consider. I usually get the Earth Burger, and it definitely delivers. The patty is thick and perfectly done (without being salty). The bun is soft, but doesn't dissolve the way that many others can. Even the fries are crisp and tasty. Add in that even the takeout presentation is fantastic. These aren't just tossed in a paper bag, but provided in their own trays with plenty of room in the bag so that the fries don't go soggy by the time you get home. And the staff is top notch as well. Happy to answer questions or provide suggestions. Will angels descend around you as you dine upon this burger? No, and frankly, that would be a bit weird as they'd probably all want a few fries. After hearing about this place from my ex girlfriend, I thought I check it out. Unfortunately when I got here, the disappointment came in. The price here is very outrageous. I am not paying $25 just for a wimpy korean burger because I don't have time for prices like that. It seems like a total joke to me. When I got here there was like no one sitting inside or outside the joint. That is a red flag there but I see no idea why people still like this place. The location is quite convenient; it's located in a big plaza, so there's a lot of parking available! The inside was quite nice as well! It was very spacious and clean :) I ordered a half order of the crispy fried chicken and the tteokbokki. I LOVE von's crispy fried chicken over their other flavors, bc it's not super overpowering, but still flavorful. The chicken was a good size and super crispy still. It was nice and juicy and well fried. Von's rice cakes are prob my favorite!! Idk what they do but it's a bit crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The sauce is sweet and spicy with a bit of tangy to it. If you havent, I'd definitely recommend their rice cakes!! Had a chance to come here on opening day to say hi to some friends. The staff was very friendly and we got our orders in a quick manner considering that it was so crowded. Lots of take out orders but fortunate enough to get a table. I've been to this location many times for Von's Chicken. Pleasantly surprised that they still have the fried chicken menu available. My friend and I had the Cheeseburger, Bulgogi Burger with a side order of fries and a drink. The burgers and fries were well prepared. Burgers were juicy with lots of flavor. The buns also has a nice consistency to it. It's a big burger 1/3rd pound I believe. Fries were fresh and crispy. wtf , i came and ordered a cheese burger and fried chicken at 830pm tonight 10/09 and the damn patty is sour taste, my 5 yrs old ate half of the burger and said it taste wierd and i kept thinking he was just being a damn runt. i took a bite and i automatically spit it out. the fried chicken was good and taste normal like every other time. cashier was great and attentive, place looks clean and immaculate but wtf selling old spoiled patties, im getting yelled at by his mom which is even more pain in the ass.. i know its hard to run an establishment but opening a restaurant in this area, you have to stand out to survive. at lease check for spoiled products. i aint asking for refund but please dont do it for the next customer read more

Ordering food to go was simple and quick- there was a customer new to Vons so the cashier was tied up answering questions but luckily they have a kiosk near the door to order from as well. I was able to place my order fairly quickly and with no issues. Our food was ready in about 15-20 minutes. I will say the wait time in between getting our food and actually eating it might have led to the chicken losing alot of its crispiness that I so look forward to. However the seating felt a little cramped, plus we had our dog with us. We also ordered the new crispy fried cheese balls but those were also probably better consumed on-site as it wasn't the gooey consistency we were expecting. Our order consisted of the cheese balls, fries, half order of honey butter and half order of cheddar fried chicken. Although the crunch factor was a let down, I will admit they HOOK IT UP with the seasonings- see our half eaten chicken for reference of how much was on each chicken! I am a huge fan of Vons Chicken and have been a regular at the Sunnyvale location. I saw this newer location open up in the same plaza as Mitsuwa and decided to grab some food for dinner. I ordered through the Yelp app (aka Grubhub) and ordered their half order of crispy honey butter chicken drumsticks and a side of sweet potato fries (about $28 total). I walked in when the pick-up time on the app was up, but I was told it would be another ten minutes before it was ready. I noticed there were 3 other parties in the store waiting for their food as well. After wandering around, I went back and they had just finished packaging my food. The service could've been a little better because it felt like they were really short with me and were not very approachable or friendly. The food however was excellent and very fresh. Even through the drive home, everything was still piping hot and the chicken and fries were super crispy and full of flavor. The drumsticks were tender and juicy as well. Despite the service, I'd still come back for more chicken. Since they are pretty slow, I'd just order ahead way in advance for pick-up to save time. read more

Friendly service, they ask you what "cook" you want on your burger, solid taste, great fries (really crispy), and outside seating. Only downside was it was a little slow.. maybe close to 10min, I was the only person in there. $15 for the meal, better than 15 at Burger King, so I'd come back. read more

I love Vons chicken! They merged stores with Rocket Burger a while back but the chicken is still Vons. This is my favorite Korean fried chicken place in South Bay. The chicken is always really consistent and super crispy. We always get the soy-garlic sauce. The radishes are also nice and tangy. I accidentally ordered the wrong sauce today when placing my online order and the employee there was friendly and helped me change to the sauce I wanted. Definitely recommend! read more

To me the cheeseburger I bought tasted really fresh. The onions and tomato were really nice and fresh. The meat was high quality. Typical pricing for this kind of stuff. Shake was good. Fries were crispy not greasy. Unfortunately the cheese burger wasn't oozing with thousand island like their picture so little disappointing there and deceptive. In fact I couldn't really see any thousand island, usually if it's in a burger it's dripping out. Thus the reason for the 4 stars. I'd be back for a second try. But they need to either take more accurate pictures or put the sauce in there to match the picture and expectations for me to increase the stars and keep me coming back. read more
