Donny was extremely thorough in identifying the issue and diagnosed that the unit I had was not the right size for my home. In addition the piping was inefficient and not up to code. They offered to refund the prior install, designed a sleek solution with a new combi boiler and somehow managed to make everything fit perfectly into the very small mechanical room in my home. This was a complicated install made even more challenging by the small space, but Donny's workmanship and problem-solving was excellent. They were able to accommodate my schedule, finished on time and were collaborative with me throughout the process and helped me land on a solution and price that I was satisfied with. My home has never been this comfortably heated in the winter before while not compromising on hot water in the bathroom and kitchen. So, I posted the job on Yelp where Carlos, with Rooter Tech was one of the first to respond. We were able to coordinate a convenient time for the following morning. Right on time Saturday morning we have two Rooter Tech, plumbers here and ready to go. After explaining the scrub head sucking, toilet situation and for asking to add a tank rebuild to the estimate/project, they got to work. It didn't take too long before they came back with a price that was fair, to do the work. Rooter Tech, was the third plumbing contractor we got an estimate from and it was worth it to hold out for the right people. Everything about this project was efficient, stress free and I'm throughly satisfied. The toilet is working great, no complaints!

tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

An AI voice answered the phone, asked me why I was calling, told me it was going to look up my account details, said it had a problem and that someone would contact me to follow up, and then hung up on me. A few hours later I got a text from "Cameron". I complained to "Cameron" about the experience I had from the AI phone answerer. "Cameron" apologize and told me that such an experience would frustrate him too...then "Cameron" decided to be transparent with me and tell me that he was in fact AI as well and "his" real name was "Carson". We went back and forth about 6 times to explain the problem I was having and to set up an appointment. Then "Cameron" told me that the time we worked out wasn't confirmed yet and that someone would be calling me to confirm the time. Thanks, "Cameron". This was Friday around 4:00PM. THE NEXT MORNING, a human being (I think) texted me from the same number to confirm the appointment. After I let them know how unhappy I was with the AI scheduling service, a human (I think) did call me and apologized for it. Then, on the day of the appointment, the technician arrived an hour and a half after the 12:00-16:00 window we had set up. I had to call them at 16:30 to ask if the technician was coming and they told me he would be there soon. When he did arrive, in the middle of me making dinner for my family, he told me that the faucet would need to be replaced and that it would be $750 (!!) in labor to fix it. Then I was charged $83 for his time (which I guess would be rolled into the service). So, in the end I still had a leaky faucet and I was out $83 with the option to pay $670 to replace a faucet (plus the cost of the faucet itself). For that price, I'm just going to do it myself. Then the spam texts started coming from "Cameron" asking about the estimate. I got one every day until I told it to stop texting me. This company used to be great but I'm going to be looking around the next time I need a plumber. Please ditch this stupid AI system. Please don't charge your customers if you're extremely late for your own four hour window - especially if the diagnosis takes five minutes and is "I can't fix it - replace the faucet".
