No beef teriyaki on the menu?!?!?!?! How is that possible for a Japanese restaurant? They have chicken, salmon, and used to beef bento boxes. But not anymore. I asked why and server had no clue. Pretty odd. Food was average. Restaurant was clean. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy.

The sushi is quite delicious here. It always taste fresh to me when I come here. I've been here quite a few times alone and with friends. It's very spacious inside the restaurant. The staff working are very polite and kind. You're usually seated right away and asked what you would like to drink. I know they do a special for $1 sale with a minimum purchase requirement. The sushi is well priced and including the special rolls. You order from a tablet and it comes out on a little rocket near the wall. So fun! The tables can fit like 4 people on each side so bring a group of friends with you!

Had a good dinner experience here. I made a reservation for Friday night at 7 PM, but it was totally not needed, the restaurant was only half full when we arrived. Servers were all very nice and the ordering process on the touchpad was easy. Food comes out pretty quickly too Fish quality is just average. My hamachi sashimi was cut super super thick so you definitely get a good amount of fish, but not sure if that's a traditional way to cut it. Salmon skin hand roll was nice with really crispy bits of salmon skin and not too much rice, which is a problem I always have with hand rolls Other specialty rolls were all tasty. I would say overall for the price, I expected better quality fish.

My favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area! Quality and portion size have not changed since I moved to Seattle three years ago. I recently visited and the nigiri cuts are still as massive as ever. Ordering is seamless and there is no wait staff involved. You order through a tablet and the food is delivered via a rocket from the kitchen. Prices are steep compared to other restaurants, but for the amount of thick fish cuts that you are getting it is worth the price. Salmon toro and otoro were my favorite. Every piece of nigiri was perfectly paired. Eating sashimi or nigiri topped with a side portion of the 'real' wasabi is highly recommended!

This place was FUN! Your food is delivered to the side by the wall on rockets! Super fun. The service was great. Clean restaurant and nice decor. I will say I didn't like the order it. Process. It took a while for us all to pick what we wanted because there wasn't a menu for us to hold individually. That being said everything we got was delicious. I can't remember everything we got but we definitely want to come back.

Friendly service and staff, pretty quick if you're in a rush. Came for one omakase. Few bites really stood out, 1-2 less so. Decent spread overall and nice presentation. Lovely rocket touch and atmosphere. Overall fairly fresh fish.

Bad and so so so so so slow service for the pick up driver so so so so so so so so so so so slow

We went here for a late lunch today! We ordered salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi and dragon roll, miso soups, and the lion king roll! Oh my goodness this sashimi was the most soft and tasty piece I ever had. It was so fresh! I was so hungry we didn't take any photos. Aah The food we ordered on the tablet menu and the order came to our table on a rocket ship revolver. It was so cute because the rocket design said nasa and it was shaped like a rocket. It was a fun experience as well! And ah definitely will come back. My only iffy is the booth seat had a weird friction to sweat pants. So when you're trying to enter and leave while scooting there is some trouble. So keep that in mind. Just for a pov with leg room.

The Family Affair roll was incredible. I enjoyed the rockets and it's cute seeing the sushi come out this way. The Nigiri was amazing and fresh. The only roll that was a bit disappointing was the Cherry Blossom roll. It was dry. I've had many cherry blossom rolls and this one ranked lowest. I found tartar sauce with the soft shell crab interesting. It was labeled as a special sauce. It does not seem like a good mix. I love soft shell crab appetizers and typically have had them with a lighter (less heavy) liquid on the side.

Very good quality sushi with the fun conveyer belt and tablet ordering. My 7 user old was very entertained and the adults were happy with the selection and taste. Will absolutely return again. Really huge and clean inside, which I didn't expect from outside.

Loved this place! A variety of Japanese food, prompt service, and great shtick with the rockets. It's always fun to add a moment of play ordering from a tablet and watching your food come down a rocket themed conveyer belt. The decor and spaciousness took me back to Japan for sure! A lil review of our order: Veggie caterpillar roll: Delicious, really fresh and hearty at the same time. Spicy edamame: pretty spicy oil, not too salty, a good start to the meal. Vegetarian Udon: super savory, light broth. Noodles were so chewy in the best way! Tempura roll: Pretty yummy, but maybe a little heavy/greasier. Gyozas (not pictured): perfectly fried, really good. We came in 30 minutes before closing and had 15 minutes to order, but all the food came out so fast, and the staff served us so many refills of food and tea. As two people, we spent about $80 all in, but it was a lovely experience. We were only 2, but the tables are definitely meant for larger parties!

Pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon, not sure if the sf marathon had anything to do with it. Looks super popular with delivery apps as they have a row of tables dedicated for togo orders. Really good service, super attentive whether you're looking for the restroom or need more water. Huge portions of fish on the nigiri and even on special the special rolls. Quality is expected and not the greatest but that's the trade off for portion size. Really fishy taste in my mouth afterwards was kinda gross lol.

Pretty good but not your typical rainbow roll. This had tempera in it and no crab meat.

Ask the Community - Rocket Sushi

Do you offer hand rolls w real crab?

Yes, we have King CA had roll, with crab meat for dine-in.

Are there speakers / music in the restaurant?

There was music playing during my visit in April 2024.

One person in our party said the great benefit here was because the rocket brings your food no need to tip. What is the acceptable tip for a place where your food is brought by rocket?

We do not do mandatory tip on our bill so it's completely up to customers to decide how much to tip. Please be reminded that our servers do bring you drinks, offer assistance (special order, extra sauce/ forks/ napkin) , refill & remove plates…

Do you guys accept solo dining?

Yes, we do. Single party /big party/ party with little ones are all welcome here. 😊 Please enjoy your stay here.

Do you have the omakase on the menu all of the time?

We have it everyday for sure but with limited quantity. It could be sold out if you don’t see it on menu. Its mainly based on the quality and supply of special fishes for the Omakase.

Hi, do guy guys serve beer and sake?

Yes! Draft and bottle beer, sake, soju and wine.

Does this restaurant do birthday celebrations?

They have this loyalty program that you sign up to get rewards for every dollar you spend. If you put in your birthday, you get a FREE Chessecake on your B-day! Hope this helps.

Conveyer belt sushi for the win!…read more I came here last minute because I needed somewhere quick to eat and I was by myself, so luckily there was one seat left (during busy dinner time on a weekend, no less - other places had long waits) Here in America the conveyer belt sushi places haven't really impressed me, but being that this one is in Japantown, it's pretty decent. If there isn't something on the conveyer, you can always ask for it. They were cutting up real, whole fish so you know it's fresh at least. Service was great, super quick and the "chefs" were responsive. The menu is nice, with lots of drinks to choose from as well. Cuts were not authentic but still meaty. Pricing can be on the higher side, depending on what you like. But others have mentioned it can be cheap as you like or expensive as you like at places like these, as they are priced essentially by the choice of fish and how it's prepared. Atmosphere was lively for a weekend night, but I have been here during the week as well when it's less busy. It can be tight if it's full (get to know your neighbor!) but it's more than adequate. Always a fun experience and I have , and will be back.

TLDR: When you're at the heart of Japan town, you have to embody the nation in all the good ways…read more Kui Shin Bo, embodied the nation's backbone of being average to above average in multiple things. This place covers many of the basics (rolls, ramen, tempura, yakisoba, teriyaki, unagi). I really only see it as a jack of all trades, but a master of none. It doesn't mean that this restaurant has no place in Japantown, but it doesn't inspire confidence when it's located in an isolated region of the mall with less foot traffic, while its competition on the other wing has lines longer than the location's capacity. Black Garlic Ramen: It's always a mystery to me how black garlic improves a bowl of ramen. My expectations, however, remain the same. How thick is the broth? How clean is the broth when consumed? What is the quality of the chashu? Do I get enough noodles? I think the best part of this meal was the amount of soup they give, and the chashu was very good. It sucks that the chashu is tiny, but they did very well. I feel that the noodles were those wholesale ramen noodles that were portioned, and the garnish was fine. The broth was okay, 3.5-ish stars in terms of taste. Dynamite Roll and Volcano Roll: I think it's a problem if I have trouble identifying which is which. I can tell you that both are good enough to try, and the Volcano Roll comes with raw fish. Both come with a good crunch and a good sauce, but like most Japanese places that lean heavily into the rolls, good luck finding out what you ordered and what you just ate. Ambiance: Very classic Japanese. They're really at their best to convince you that you're in Japan. It may get tight during a busy day though. Service: Standard. The chicken was very crispy, the beefy teriyaki had a nice smoky flavor to it, the soup was nice and warm, the rice paired well and the salad was fresh and tasty. My sister ordered the Crispy Chicken Chili Creamy Ramen. I had some of her ramen and it was delicious as well! The overall, restaurant itself is a bit small but the food makes up for it. The air is damp, temperatures are hovering in the 50s, and Karl the Fog clings to the Golden Gate Bridge and waterfront, creating a misty, almost ethereal scene...And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a SIGN FOR RAMEN. Where else? Marufuku Ramen - San Francisco in Japantown for some authentic Hakata-style Tonkotsu ramen. Because when San Francisco decides to turn a summer evening into a refrigerated fog chamber, you don't argue with Mother Nature. You order soup. And not just any soup. RAMEN. We ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu DX, and from the moment that bowl arrived, I knew the evening was going to end well. The broth was rich, deeply simmered, creamy, savory, and incredibly comforting...the kind of broth that seems to have one job in life...Make you forget that you're cold. Mission accomplished. Then came the supporting cast...Seasoned Soft-Boiled Egg, perfectly tender and adding another layer of richness. Green Onions bringing freshness and a little aromatic bite. Kikurage Mushrooms adding that wonderful chewy, slightly crunchy texture. Bean Sprouts providing a crisp counterpoint to all that luxurious broth. And then...Buta Kakuni aka braised thick pork belly. Now we're talking. Tender, succulent, deeply flavored pork belly that practically surrendered to the chopsticks. Rich without being overwhelming, it added that slow-braised goodness that makes you suddenly question why all pork belly isn't served this way. Then came corn for little bursts of sweetness and nori seaweed for that subtle oceanic umami. Everything had a purpose. Everything had a place. And everything somehow ended up in my belly. This wasn't simply ramen...this was soul-soothing culinary therapy. The kind of meal that melts away the evening San Francisco chill one slurp at a time. But apparently ramen wasn't enough...because we also ordered the Chicken Karaage. And OH BOY... That golden-brown, ultra-crispy exterior gives way to tender, juicy, deeply flavored chicken inside, creating that beautiful combination of crunch and tenderness that is both satisfying and dangerously addictive. One piece becomes another. Then another and suddenly you're negotiating with yourself. "I should probably save some for later", however, your hand reaches for another piece. Apparently, self-control was not invited to dinner. The combination was perfect. Hot ramen. Crispy chicken. Rich broth. Tender pork belly. Crunchy vegetables. And Karl the Fog doing his best impression of a giant refrigerator outside. This is where I started thinking about Japanese minimalism. It reflects ideas of discipline, respect, mindfulness, simplicity, and harmony, with a deep connection to nature and tradition. Marufuku Ramen hits on all points. The ingredients are thoughtfully composed. The textures have purpose. The flavors are balanced. Nothing feels unnecessary. Nothing feels like it's trying too hard. It's simply a beautiful bowl of ramen and some seriously good karaage doing exactly what they were meant to do. And perhaps that's the beauty of it. In a city where everything seems to move at 100 miles an hour, you sit down with a bowl of ramen, pick up your chopsticks, take that first sip of broth... And for a few minutes...You slow down. Karl can wait. The Golden Gate Bridge can wait. The rest of San Francisco can wait. Dinner comes first. Overall: 5 stars. The Hakata Tonkotsu DX was rich, savory, comforting, and loaded with wonderful textures. The Buta Kakuni was tender and deeply satisfying, while the seasoned egg, kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts, green onions, corn, and nori created a beautifully balanced bowl. And the Chicken Karaage? Crispy. Juicy. Flavorful. Basically...fried chicken therapy with a Japanese passport. Come hungry...and Go Big!!!
