I was skeptical after the limited stars but my friend wanted to try it, so in I went. The beer on tap is good not great. Nice wine selection however and they even have Prosecco. The menu is another story and it took me several minutes to decide what to order. Always a good sign! The fish tacos were delish and 3 of them filled me right up. Update: 6/7/2021. I was reminded today why I don't go to the Rockfish Grill. I haven't been in close to a decade. We waited 15 minutes to get a table outside. There was no one in front of us, and maybe 3 tables total inside the restaurant. Three or four servers were just standing around with seemingly nothing to do. Once seated, we waited another 13 minutes without being greeted by our server, or even given silverware. The icing on the cake was when they seated another table 10 minutes AFTER us, and immediately took their order. 3 minutes later, we got up and left. I've never been impressed with the food at the Rockfish. But the complete lack of service still astounds me. I'm just not willing to wait around more than 25 minutes to eat the marginal food at the Rockfish. read more

This is a great place to go when no one can decide what they like best. there are many options to choose from and they all are pretty tasty! The pizza is good, the salads, the sandwiches and the fish is all good. I love that they now have covered outside eating area. It's summertime now but they have heaters installed so its a nice option when we get chilly nights.. They have been short handed with servers due to people not wanting to actually work for a living, but the help that is working hard is very nice and pleasant and makes the experience even better. Man, really not good. I'm not a big reviewer or a very picky eater but I was just so bummed after I left here I feel like I need to vent about it. We ordered a large brewers salad which was basically bagged spring mix on a small plate topped with corn. Very underwhelming. The fries were floppy. Most disappointing of all were the pretzels. They were basically just small flavorless bread and the beer cheese was as runny as soup. :( Dinner for two with one beer was $95 (after tip). Which would be fine if the food was good but its so hard to pay that when everything was verrrry blah. I give two stars though because the service was really good - our server was very friendly and attentive and the beer was great! If you're just looking for a drink it would be worth a stop but there are much better food options near by this place. read more

Ordered the Crab Mac & Cheese, and must say it was not fulfilling at all. 4 -5 sticks of broccoli and the main dish definitely did not hit the spot, small portion and for the price was terrible. Very overpriced and was tasteless. The waitress also wasn't attentive to us, no refill, didn't bother to check after receiving my order, and ask if needed anything else. Had to stay overnight in Anacortes for an early t check-in. My friend & I hadn't been here before so decided to give a 'go'. Let's start with the 'good': drinks were excellent & the martini was VERY good! Now the not 'so good': as another reviewer pointed out the oysters were HUGE....they are supposed to be 'yearling' & the coating was very thick & not flavorful. My friend ordered the coconut shrimp on the appetizer menu. Was served the full meal, altho the waitress charged her only for the appetizer as the kitchen did it wrong. So Good!!! So first of all, it is clear the staff are working their a** off here to make it work. My husband and I decided to go because we saw them advertise a dish on Facebook. We've eaten here before, but not for a long time, and we didn't remember it being particularly notable- but tonight was AMAZING! When we arrived there was a wait, and a bit of confusion. They were clearly busy and swamped. We were eventually acknowledged and told it would be about 20 mins. When we were seated we ordered a soft pretzel with beer cheese. While delicious (if the waitress reads this she'll know who we were) I swear we were dipping our pretzels in clam chowder- really good clam chowder- it was totally clam chowder. I'm not mad, it was delicious, but this was too thin to be beer cheese and had celery and chunks in it. If I was served a bowl of this beer cheese and told it was clam chowder I would think that's what it was. That being said we loved our pretzels and chowder. I ordered the coconut prawns with sweet potato waffle fries and my husband ordered fish and chips. My husband has never looked at me and said "take a picture of the food, it's really good looking, and the servings are insane". The fish portions are large, and the prawns are huge, all the food was sooo good! We ordered a brownie to go- we opened it up when we got home and while the picture doesn't look nice- this is the largest portion of brownie we've ever gotten from a restaurant anywhere (like about the same you's get from a 8x8 pan. And it's probably the best tasting brownie I've ever had from a restaurant. I wouldn't mind just calling in to get the brownie. Thank you rockfish for the amazing food. Please go see them! I ordered the the fish tacos and the fish was definitely over cooked and the tacos were under seasoned. I would skip ordering this. I also got the crab Mac and cheese that was pretty good. You definitely get pieces of crab in every bite. Only suggestion would be if they could add a better crispier bread crust on top. Also, it was a little steep for $22 and not sure worth that price. The service here has gone downhill in the last few years. When we arrived today we let them know we had just 45 minutes before medical appointments. We waited over 15 minutes for our waitress to take our order. 7 tables with customers and 5 wait staff. We almost left, remembering that we did leave once after waiting over 20 minutes when it wasn't busy enough to warrant the wait. We just had a couple beers and pretzels, which the waitress said were two pretzels per order For $2.99. We ordered two so each of the 4 of us got a pretzel. Because of our tight timing we asked for the bill to come with our order. When we finished our pretzels we waited a while for our bill and eventually had to interrupt 4 waitstaff standing in a clump talking, to pay our bill. I noticed that we were charged $11.96 for our pretzels. When I reminded her that she told us there were two Pretzels per order she said she was sorry that she made a mistake and the happy hour menu only included one pretzel per order. End of story. As we were leaving we saw people with empty plates at a neighboring table trying unsuccessfully get the attention of a wait staff to pay their bill. They eventually got up to chase down a server so they could pay their bill too. The place is cute and could be a great place to hang out and have pizza and beer, but with such bad service, we're not encouraged to return. read more

The atmosphere is great and the previous times eating here, there was a 15-20 min. waiting time average. A very laid-back, comfortable atmosphere. My experience with the service here is great as well, surprisingly quick turn-around for crowded lunch-hour rushes etc. The menu leans on the more boring/uninspiring side. The plates are usually large but the food tastes dull and is more expensive than you would assume. The "star of the show" are their pizzas. Very delicious, but pricey. Depending on festivals/events going on outside, the pizzas may be put temporarily on hiatus (due to crazy amount of customer demand, no capacity to fulfill orders; I was told). So keep that in mind when you want a wonderful slice of pizza. read more
