Hubs & I split the Tomatillo Lime Chicken, it was just right for the both of us. Chicken was nice and tender, black beans were yummy and cilantro lime rice was just right. We had Sadie as our server and she was very pleasant. Food came out quickly and was hot. She was around enough to ask about drink refills. The restaurant has about 20 tables inside and has some outside seating. It was a little too warm to sit outside. The restaurant gives iff a "new Western" vibe. Surprising decent spot in Kenab. Came here on a Monday night on week of new years. Pretty busy. Had to wait 45-60 minutes after putting our names down. We were able to check in our hotel and do some groceries for next day's hike in the meantime. When we got texted, we came right back and was seated pretty quick. Food came pretty quick and service was decent. Food was pretty solid. My SO got the Cowboy's chicken which was chicken breast marinated in mild spices and chilies, with country sausage gravy and and mashed potatoes Potatoes and roasted corn salad. Pretty flavorful. I got the El Verde Bowl which was like carnitas with with various spice, green chili rice, mango salad, and a side of jalapeño relish. We both thought the dishes were solid, however they were a bit too salty! I usually don't complain about saltiness, but it definitely had a lot of sodium in it. Overall, would recommend. Solid dishes, the other dishes look very promising as well. Only wish they made the food less saltier. read more

Kids pizza for $7 is from Costco Cowboy chicken $23, breading was soggy, flavor was just all over the place. Potatoes were just average. Sausage gravy didn't even help this dish. Don't know how that's possible. Ribeye was $41, not the greatest flavor. A little over cooked. Definitely not worth the price. Came here for a birthday dinner expecting to get dessert also. Decided to pass on dessert since everything else was so mediocre. Giving this a 1 star to balance the ratings on Yelp. This should really be a 3 star place. You're not able to RSVP, when we arrived It was full and the hostess had not enabled the waitlist, so we were sent upstairs to wait about 15 to 20 minutes. There's a small art gallery upstairs, and of course you can't order any alcohol whilst waiting. Once seated, we promptly ordered we went for bison ,chicken, and I had trout appetizer as my main dish. We also had a side of brussels sprouts and bread pudding to go. The bison & trout appetizer are an absolute must try! The chicken was also good. We have eaten here before on our trip 3 years ago. So we were confident going in with our previous experience and the positive Yelp reviews. We arrived with no reservation but were put on the list and quoted a 20 minute wait. After 10 minutes we received the text and were seated upstairs with all the artwork, the best place to sit in my opinion. The local artwork is fun. We both ordered the burger with the "world's best potatoes" as the side. The food came out in a timely fashion and we were ready to eat. This is where the experience took a nose dive. The burgers were so overcooked that the edges of the patty were hard and covered with black ash. The outsides edges were inedible. We cut them off, and chocked down one of the dried out patty's the best we could. We just left the other burger. The potatoes were still "out of the refrigerator" cold, and the gravy like topping was lukewarm at best. I felt it was unsafe to eat them as they were no where near the safe for consumption temps required for proper food safety Such a disappointment. No one came to check on us and asked how our meals were. The buss person removed our plates without a word, and the check was brought to the table. I hope they were just having a bad night, as our previous experience was on an entirely different level than this one. Go with caution is my recommendation. read more

Went here on a busy night while staying in Kanab! We've been wanting to try this restaurant since we visited Kanab for the first time 4 years ago. It's always packed and the ambiance is so fun. The wait staff is so friendly and provides great recommendations. I like that while this place is primarily vegetarian, it has a few options with meat as well. The cowboy chicken is delicious and is pure comfort food. I ordered the pepper dish that was packed with heat and tons of flavor. I tried the Rocking V Cafe on a recent trip thru Kanab. Its was on. Friday night & was busy. Too busy to eat inside, so I took a single seat at an outside sidewalk table under a heater. It was comfortable. I ordered the big pork chop, which quite frankly, I was disappointed in. It was overcooked to the point of dryness. However, I would order it again with special instructions to keep it moist. I asked for additional sauce to dip it in, which made it better. The asparagus was delicious as was the small (too small) portion of scalloped potato. The chop was not cheap, you'll be paying a steak dinner price for a pork chop. It turned out to be a great choice. I had the El Verde Bowl which was stuffed with plenty of pork! The Rocking V offers plenty of alcohol choices which included a variety of local crafts. I chose the Evolution Red Amber which was excellent. Our server, was, Stacey, was friendly and professional. The food was ready pretty quick as well.
