My husband & I tried Rock 'N Fish and we were seated right away by the bar at a high top table. This was good since it was next to the Tv! LOL... we were greeted right away and drinks were served. Most places that have a french dip sandwich use shoe leather for the roast beef part. A few restaurants, and Rock'N Fish is one of those few, have delicious properly cooked roast beef. So a really good french dip. Not an awesome melt in your mouth, but close. Pathetic beer selection. Bad enough that I will never vote to go there again. One star is too much for this place. I went here for a group dinner with my close friends on Friday 1/5/24. We ordered the seafood tower, which came with 8 oysters. Four of my friends each had 2 oysters, and by Saturday they were all very sick from food poisoning. It cannot be a coincidence that all 4 of my friends, the only 4 who had oysters, all got violently ill right after eating at this place. All four of my friends had to get medical attention, take time off work, and suffer severe illness and pain. One of them had to go to the ER twice in one weekend due to a very dangerous potassium deficiency. Another had to go to the ER due to dehydration because he could not keep any food in his system. It is now 1/18/24 (13 days later!!!!) and my friends are still sick and not fully back to normal. This is a fish place by the ocean, not a steak house in central Nevada. They should be held to a higher standard when serving items like oysters. I don't think I could ever return to this place. Disgusting. And the bathrooms are gross and right next to the kitchen. read more

Open for indoor and outdoor dining! Outdoor dining allows for beautiful views of the Manhattan Pier and Beach! Menu was extensive with classic American and southern styled dishes. Prices are on the higher end but considered average for the area. In my opinion you're paying for the service and location so take out wouldn't really make sense if you're visiting. This has always been one of my favorites! Took my boyfriend here tonight and drove up from Laguna beach. Which is where one of their old locations was. I had talked all day about the macadamia crusted mahi mahi. And when we went to order with Tricia she told me they were out. I made a small joke and said ooh no that's why I can up here! She apologized and I ordered the salmon instead...also very delicious! Probably 40 min later the manager came by and said "soo I heard you're up here from Laguna beach?" I answered yes. One of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan Beach. Once we heard they've reopened, we booked a table for lunch today. It seems like the restaurant put a lot of safety measures in place to keep diners safe from the virus. They've placed plastic dividers between tables and kept a large gap between tables. In addition, all servers are in gloves, mask, and face shields. I definitely felt safe dining here today. They also place hand sanitizers in all corners of the restaurant including the entrance. The menu is still the same. They still have my favorite fish tacos. My wife's favorite is their sourdough bread and fried calamari. We had both today. It was nice day to be out with the temperature's around 75F. Afterward we went to the beach and had some fun. It's quite refreshing to be out on the beach to soak up the sun and the fresh air. read more

We were on a mini vacation. Rock n Fish was one our favorite restaurants. If we are ever in California again, we will definitely be back. I ordered steak and bake potatoe. About my bake potatoe,it could have been a meal itself it was so big. My steak was juicy cooked exactly like I asked. My husband ordered the halibut. He said it was delicious. We both had cocktails. You can not go wrong with the jambalaya at this place (with rice of course). It is what I order each time i go. If you're a lover of seafood you have to try this out. To me it is a staple of Rock n Fish. Also get the bread pudding. Don't let the name fool you. With such a prime location near the pier, if you're gonna come here on the weekends, either make a reservation if that's possible or expect some wait. Honestly...everything from the appetizer to dessert was so good. After a really tough morning fighting trying to get some emergency meds while stuck in LA, this restaurant was a lovely breath of fresh air. We came for a light lunch and sat in the open air section that was still quite comfortable weather wise. This restaurant is right up the Main Street from pier in the first block from the beach. Wear flats as you are walking up/down hill. Service was prompt and pleasant -- which we needed. We decided to share -- first a crab cake appetizer. It was pretty good. Different than the blue crab we are used to -- and I forgot to ask what kind. It was served with 2 sauces -- one was tartar and the other a spicy remoulade. After that we shared a shrimp louis salad -- 4 huge shrimp, sliced avocado, large green olives, red tomato wedges, wedges of hard boiled egg all over dressed romaine lettuce. We got some extra salad dressing on the side for dipping. So good. Then we had some crusty just baked sourdough bread with butter for "dessert". We didn't partake but they had bottomless mimosas and sangria. Several tables next to us took full advantage of drink after drink. They pair it with an amazing pineapple beurre blanc sauce which takes it to a whole new level. The restaurant itself is always very clean, despite how busy it can get. Seafood Tower of Terror! I was there for a special occasion and we ordered the seafood tower. Our server told us the oysters were from Mexico. I was so excited to have a few of them since I usually never order shellfish from restaurants. The next day I felt lethargic and that night I had a fever and vomited. Fast forward to the next day and I was in Urgent Care and was treated for "food poisoning." I spent the next week chained to my toilet until the acid reflux from all the vomiting inflamed my esophagus and I ended up in the Emergency Room. After my second visit to the ER that weekend, an EKG, X-Ray, and repeated blood testing they officially diagnosed me with food poisoning from contaminated shellfish (the oysters in the seafood tower). My throat was burning, my left arm was losing sensation, and it felt as though someone was sitting on my chest. I have never been in this type of pain before in my life. I am now approaching the two week mark after having the seafood tower from Rock'N Fish and I have already missed out on a week and a half of work due to the food poisoning caused by the Seafood Tower from this restaurant. Three of my other friends have also suffered miserably from food poisoning after this tragic event at Rock'N Fish. If you are here to celebrate, stay away from their shellfish! Consume the oysters at your own risk! This was the worst dining experience I have ever had! I would not wish the trip to the Urgent Care or the two visits to the ER on anyone! What a mistake we made in coming to this restaurant to celebrate our dear friend's promotion! read more

Good thing, our food came out about 5-10 mins after ordering. Onto the food. There were no complimentary bread. Such a bummer because it's an upscale restaurant! Mediocre food for the price. Mac N' cheese was nasty. My 1 year old did not like it. Pretty cheap on the cheese & fries were hard. My thoughts here is a bit mixed. It's a very interesting pub but could not tell what the theme was. The staff was great. It's literally next to the beach. But that also means parking can be a bare unless you walk or get dropped off. Inside is dark as the building doesn't allow for much natural light. First, there have a standard house menu that does not change and is not on the paper menu they give you. It is on the wall in the pseudo outdoor seating area, which we did not see as we sat inside. So, we missed out on a whole menu. We had their ribeye with their special house marinate. Personally, I prefer salt and pepper, not something sweet for my steaks. Also, from the flavor, the ribeye wasn't bad. Glad it wasn't frozen and dried out like other places. It was tender. We also had their salmon. That was actually pretty good and soft. Haven't had salmon that soft in a long time. Definitely a must try if you like salmon. The jambalaya was another dish that came with a choice of rice or linguine. I chose rice but don't think it'll make a difference. This dish is bland. The sauce has not taste. The shrimp was tiny. The andouille were dried like bacon bits. I would skip this one. read more

Awesome atmosphere for a afternoon brunch on the Pier. It's great how they created outdoor seating facing the ocean. I enjoyed a very large cup of Clam Chowder, ice cold lemonade and a perfectly cooked bacon cheese burger. This was the perfect place for an afternoon, small gathering with family. Love this spot! We looked this place up on Yelp after searching for a beachfront spot close to our airport hotel and we had the best time! The waitresses were so kind and patient with us as we went through their MASSIVE menu and even went out of their way to ask us what brought us to Manhattan Beach and if we had a good time on our vacation! My party ordered three of the Pear Martinis (super good!), the bread, the ahi tuna salad, the seafood jambalaya, and the surf and turf! We all loved our meals and were stuffed at the end. Even so, we ordered the chocolate lava cake to share. It was to die for! I would definitely recommend this spot if you have a bit more money to spend for dinner and if you like seafood!! While it turns out that while you can get a drink here, the real catch is their fish (although the steaks look pretty fabulous as well). As an appetizer two of us shared some calamari. Nice large pieces perfectly prepared. Plenty of them. For lunch I had some wonderful fish and chips also top notch. The string fries were good but would have been better crisped up a bit. And the creamy Cole slaw was surprisingly standout The prices were on the high side but not excessively so.
