Stellar place! My friend and I came here after walking along the beach cause we wanted to get drinks before dinner. We shared the sourdough bread and popcorn shrimp apps, which was a great combination. There's really nothing like bread and butter to go along with your drink. The shrimp was fantastic too. She got the Hibiscus marg and I got the Navy Grog - both were good but holy moly the Navy Grog was probably one of my favorite drinks I've ever gotten period. I'm a sucker for tropical drinks too. Usually, you can taste the alcohol in a drink but it was smooth all the way through. Perfection. Also $11?? What a steal. I came here with my boyfriend and his friend for brunch. We didn't have a reservation but the hostess was able to squeeze us in which is rare in Manhattan Beach by the pier. We only waited 15 minutes and she was able to seat us. They have plastic panels to separate the outdoor tables because there isn't enough space to spread them 6 ft apart. They're taking covid very seriously with temperature checks and thoroughly cleaning the tables. We ordered the coconut crusted mahi sliders, clam chowder, fish and chips and the loaded baked potato. If you're looking for a relaxed vibe with great food, this is the spot! We did a walk in at 7:30pm on a Saturday for outdoor seating and only waited 20 mins or so to be sat. Hostesses we're super friendly! We were sat outside and had a nice view of the pier with a heat lamp right next to our table which was great for a chilly night. Food: My partner ordered the Fish and Chips. He said they were mostly crispy and flaky but 2 pieces had soggy bottoms. The fries and dipping sauces we're good as well. I had the Hickory Ribs with spicy Mac and cheese. The ribs were very tender and fell right off the bone. The Mac and cheese was a bit too spicy for my taste, but our waiter gladly swapped it for a regular Mac and cheese. We also had the Molten chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was SO GOOD. My daughter lives here n each time we visited her she took us here, I wish I lived here I'll be dining here every other day that is if I can afford it! Everything was so delicious and believe me I'm a globetrotter n a fussy eater, this even exceeded the food on the most luxurious cruise ship. This is an excellent choice if you're ok spending some money and you want somewhere close to the beach. They have outdoor seating, and open air seating. The service was fantastic from the hostess to the wait staff. The halibut was awesome, the ahi tuna sliders were awesome. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was fantastic. Surf and turf was also tasty. As was the salmon. If I'm ever in Manhattan Beach area again, this is definitely a place to stop for a nice dinner out. read more

We initially sat by the patio where we can still see the ocean, but there was a bit of chill in the air and we didn't want our food to get cold right away. I got the lobster roll. It was a very pleasant experience for lunch on a weekend day. We really liked our server. The restaurant is located right next to the Manhattan Beach pier. There is an outside patio on the first floor with a tiny peekaboo view if you're seated right next to the sidewalk. Thank God we had a reservation otherwise the wait would've been over an hour. We got a small table on the second level tucked away in the back of the restaurant. Since it was restaurant week, we decided to do the prefix lunch with 3 courses. Our server was very nice, very friendly, and very attentive. We really liked her. Our food came out relatively fast, we ordered two appetizers to share, two entrées to share, and two desserts. The portion sizes were huge, and they were all pretty delicious. The restaurant week courses was a really good deal. Parking is absolutely impossible, do not even try. We took a Lyft To the restaurant. My only complaint is that there's only two stalls for bathrooms for the entire restaurant and there seems to be a long line whenever I needed to go. As some of my Yelp readers know, I am not a seafood eater at all! I've never liked seafood ever since I was a kid and the first time I ever ate seafood was due to losing a bet (basically because I had no choice hahah). Upon arriving at Rock 'N Fish however, things were a little different. My friends kept raving about the Coconut Crusted Mahi Sliders and I was intrigued. I did have the choice of just getting their artichoke dip but when my friends ordered the sliders; there was something that told me to try it and I did. If no one told me these were seafood sliders, I would not at all know! It tasted just like chicken (haha I know famous last words).... but scout's honor for a girl that does not like seafood, these sliders had no fishy taste at all. They did seem to smother a lot of chipotle sauce on there and so that may have helped but the coconut crusted mahi really was quite tasty! I know these coconut crusted mahi sliders are a favorite of many and it was not hard to see why. I really enjoyed them despite not being a seafood kinda gal. Most places that have a french dip sandwich use shoe leather for the roast beef part. A few restaurants, and Rock'N Fish is one of those few, have delicious properly cooked roast beef. So a really good french dip. Not an awesome melt in your mouth, but close. Pathetic beer selection. Bad enough that I will never vote to go there again. Great location as it is only steps away from the sandy beach. The Ultimate Burger was good and comes with fries. It also cones with two beef patties and cheese. The Cobb Salad was disappointing. It comes with choice of chicken or shrimp, so I picked the shrimp and blue cheese dressing. But the blue cheese was in the form of crumbled blue cheese bits and not as a dressing. It's just isn't your traditional Cobb salad. I'm sure other items on the menu are worth trying but there are so many restaurants to try out in the area. To me it is a staple of Rock n Fish. Also get the bread pudding. Don't let the name fool you. Went here on 9-18 at opening and had a good lunch. I've been here and the one at LA Live years ago and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. This trip kind of sucked though. The service ruined this visit. We were there a minute early and they wouldn't seat us until the exact second they open, kind of odd. Waiter came by once to take the order and once to deliver the food, after that we were on our own. No refills and we had to flag a waiter down for silverware, napkins, and anything else. He enjoyed Fish&Chips and as this dish fanatic, he rated it 7 out of 10. My dish was beautifully served, couldn't wait to eat it. I tried a bite and it was delicious. It was baked so it wasn't deep fried as I don't like deep fried fish. Then another bite and something was wrong. Then another... i pull the breading off and fish was raw uncooked pink inside! Also deep fried eggplant was raw and hard as a rock. I told that to the server and was immediately offered a replacement. What they brought was... either same pieces because it looked the same or another similar looking but clearly put onto a pan and fried to make the fish done fast. Edges were burned and it was soaking oil. Totally different flavor than the first one. They either baked entire batch and underbaked all together and that happened or I don't know. Anyway, I refused it to eat it and they took it from the check which saved them a star, otherwise it would be 2 stars. One star is too much for this place. I went here for a group dinner with my close friends on Friday 1/5/24. We ordered the seafood tower, which came with 8 oysters. Four of my friends each had 2 oysters, and by Saturday they were all very sick from food poisoning. It cannot be a coincidence that all 4 of my friends, the only 4 who had oysters, all got violently ill right after eating at this place. All four of my friends had to get medical attention, take time off work, and suffer severe illness and pain. One of them had to go to the ER twice in one weekend due to a very dangerous potassium deficiency. Another had to go to the ER due to dehydration because he could not keep any food in his system. It is now 1/18/24 (13 days later!!!!) and my friends are still sick and not fully back to normal. This is a fish place by the ocean, not a steak house in central Nevada. They should be held to a higher standard when serving items like oysters. I don't think I could ever return to this place. Disgusting. And the bathrooms are gross and right next to the kitchen. read more
