Technician insisted a 10 minute shorter lunch just so I can make it to my nieces graduation: The girl at front desk has great customer service and very good multitasking skills while she answers both phones. Met the owner who has A1 communication skills and very charismatic. Offered a good price on tires due to my unfortunate rod speared into my back tire. I went there to support my local business also. I love old generation, not the new generation. No honest anymore . Recently, I went there for just regular Oil change cost of $60 something at 1st., but I ended up paying $1,400 something for other repairs on my car that they found+ all tires changed. I am a female, I don't know much about the car. Whatever they said sounds bad, I have to make decision to fix it for safety. I am ok to pay if the check engine light doesn't show when I picked up the car. They're mechanic, how come they couldn't remove this engine light. This is bullshit! My car didn't even have any problem before I brought in for an oil change only, it passed Star Smog for registration recently, but this shop made Engine light shows on the dashboard without fixing. Now other shop I trusted in El Cerrito for a long time fixed it to me for zero dollar. If I can give 0 star, I will. Never go back again! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. These guys are my go-to guys! I came here for the first time back in 2011. I was previously going to the dealership getting a family discount when I realized how much I was getting cheated. (One of those situations where I kept having to go back because something was wrong with my car every time I left the dealership.) Anyways, originally I went in for a quote on a timing belt and water pump replacement. I was given a quote and thought "ok, I need this to be done and it's MUCH cheaper than I anticipated." I was skeptical about it being so much cheaper but I took a chance with this place being so close to my house. What an amazing experience. I was going through some personal issues (and happened to start sharing, as I am a COMPLETELY open person). These guys were super NON judgmental. The other customer I happened to be talking to tells me that she has been here for years! They offered me a shuttle ride back to my place since I lived so close by. The wait time to get my car in was so quick and I got my car back even quicker than I anticipated! Jason has AMAZING communication skills and impeccable quoted time waits. No games and no gimmicks. My favorite thing about this place is there are no up-selling. With a friendly staff and accurate quotes, I was for sure making this place my go-to. I drive a Lexus IS300 and parts and maintenance can get REALLY pricey. For whatever reason, my car doesn't love me. I have taken great care of it with on time maintenance routines and like I mentioned above, only took it to the dealership. At first, Jason was skeptical of my exaggerated comments about constantly needing new tires. Maybe it was the way I drove, or maybe it was where I was driving to. However, after getting the timing belt and water pump, I decided to get tires here. No bullsh***ing, not trying to cheat me on sales, Jason gave me the price for what the tires were, what they meant, what his professional opinion was, and what he thought was best for my needs and my budget. I have never had better luck with these tires. I paid about 40% less than tires that I was told I needed from Costco and I can get a tire rotation done at no cost without having to wait an entire day!!!! It's been 4 years since then, haven't gotten new tires yet, AND I MOVED DOWN TO SAN JOSE! Driving back and forth between the south bay and east bay plus a work commute, I for sure thought I would have problems with my tires. Since I've seen Rodeo Autotech, I have literally gone LESS to the mechanics in 5 years than the 4 years I was going to the dealership for my maintenances. Jason and Mike remember me by name and voice when I call and have absolutely no problem answering any questions I still have while I'm in the South Bay. Even though I don't get to see them or go to them as often, I will always trust their opinion and advice. Even on my days off, I prefer to take my car to them in the East Bay. I started going here a year ago. They have been great. Good work, nice price, quick turnaround, with a reasonable and friendly staff. They weren't immature nor always seeming like they were in a rush like other places and dealerships. If I had any technical questions, they gave a simple explanation that was easy to understand. So far I've done a smog check, oil changes, fix air conditioning, and brakes for my American and Japanese cars. It helps that I work nearby so I can just walk back to work - but they do offer rides. read more

So I was driving home from the East Bay on 80 E and my front left tire popped. Bummer. After getting my spare on, I yelped the nearest "tire" place I could get to, and Rodeo Autotech showed up as five minutes away, with 4.5 stars. Jason was really friendly. I explained to him that I had bought the car used some months ago and what the heck, it was probably time to get new tires anyway. I told him I lived in Sacramento and he told me it'd take about an hour (I also got an oil change and some light bulbs replaced). He directed me to a great little diner and halfway through my brunch, he called to let me know that two of my tires were actually still new, and that he was going to put on 2 instead of all 4, saving me a decent chunk of cash. Back at the shop, he explained that doing all 4 would've been a waste of money for me. Talk about honest. He could've taken me for all I owned (I'm that uninformed about car maintenance :/ ) but instead, he saved me unnecessary expense. This shop has integrity. The prices were also extremely fair to begin with. If I'm visiting the East Bay again, and I need some maintenance done on my car, I'd seriously consider going out of the way to stop here. I've brought my truck here since I bought it 14 years ago. They keep it going, running like a top. Whatever needs doing, I'm informed what it will cost in advance, to the best of their ability, and it's repaired in a timely manner. I've gotten rides to and from home or work. Once time, my "check engine" light came on Saturday morning on the way to work. I drove to the shop immediately. Turned out to be something serious that would have left me stranded if I hadn't gone there right away. Even though I hadn't had an appointment & it was a busy Saturday, they got me to work and proceeded to fix the truck before their early Saturday closing time. They were life-savers! Thanks guys. Jason and Mike plus the whole crew are the best! i brought my car down to fix the fuel pump, after i got it back it made a sound like earrrrrrrrrrrrrr! i brought it back, they diagnosed the problem, fixed it and gave it back telling me the the issue they said lets just call it even since the module was part of the fuel pump system. I went to Tire Pros based on the reviews here and I couldn't be happier. I came in early in the morning and dropped my car off. I was going to wait but they offered to drop me off at the local Starbucks a few blocks away and pick me up when the car is ready (got 4 tires changed for the winter season). Now that is great customer service. Plus they refunded me a portion of what I paid because the car didn't need the service. More than anything I appreciate the honesty. They could have simply kept the charge and I wouldn't have been none the wiser. I'm definitely coming back here in the future. read more

These guys are great. Honest hard working mechanics. Two stories spring to mind. One was a case where they installed a new alternator for me, the part was faulty and failed 2 months later. I called them up. No stalling no preverecating, not even a hint of trying to pass the buck. They stood by their work and got me a replacement in and installed the same day. Another time I was in the middle of a crisis, and my car breaks down on top of that. The guys at Rodeo Autotech stayed late to get me back on the road the same day so that I could deal with my issue. I am grateful this shop is here. Since the original Crockett Auto Repair shop closed, it has been very difficult to find a RELIABLE shop that can work on your car within a reasonable amount of time. They have gone out of their way for me several times over the years. Jason is great, found an EGR valve for my old car in New York, had it shipped across country, and repaired my car within a week. Several times they have done minor tweaks, and headlamp bulb replacement labor for FREE- they really want your business here, and do very well in the customer servjce department... They used to give free rides, don't know if they still do now, haven't had the need for one lately... Always feel comfortable here, never been scammed or treated badly- and they have found and repaired shoddy work done by the new Crockett Valero owners. Had my Honda Pilot checked in to their shop for change oil service. Called in the morning for a reservation and they booked me for a pm slot service right away. When i got there, they quickly took care of few paperworks conveniently for me as a 1st time costumer and got started working w the job right in time. My daughter has been using Rodeo Auto for various repairs her car has needed in the past two years. Always a high repair bill, but she felt dedicated to Rodeo's service dynamic. This last month she took her car in to see what was wrong with her air conditioning, The guys told her she needed her entire cooling system re-built. To the tune of $1,100.00. My daughter found out that most Speedy Oil changers can fill your coolant for about $100.00. It cost her $110.00. I made contact with Jason via email requesting a quote to he returned a reply expeditiously along with a request for clarification on my part. Once I fulfilled his request he rendered a fair, reasonable competitive quote. I originally thought I needed a new hose for my coolant flow to which Jason ordered that only took 30 minutes to arrive. After evaluating the situation, Jason informed me that I only needed a new cap for the current hose which showed no signs of damage after he ordered and received the new hose. He could've easily replaced the old hose, but the integrity to which he displayed, he replaced only the cap; free of charge. It's the little things that I most appreciate, and that little detail sold me for life. I will, absolutely, continue to frequent Jason's business until whenever. Salud! read more
