We came to Rod's this afternoon with our ladies group. Around 11 of us. We had an amazing experience with the delicious food and superior service. Everyone truly enjoyed their food choices and our servers, Bridgette and Chris, made sure we needed for nothing. The owner, Tom and the manager Jeff were also very attentive. The chef, Mike, made a special desert just for our ladies, that was not on the menu. I called ahead to make our reservation. We will definitely be back. The Filet Oscar was succulent and rich. Perfectly medium rare! Rod's atmosphere is superlative wherever you may be seated. Sierra was in the cozy downstairs bar area. She is a personality plus lady! My husband and I had just finished a 10 hour drive and were craving something delicious and delicious is what we got. We sat in the bar to dine hoping it would stay quiet and it did not disappoint. Our bartender and server Sierra went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable and relaxing, she added to our evening with conversations about area attractions and the history of the restaurant. My husband had a yummy filet and asparagus and I enjoyed a fall of the bone rib with a blueberry bbq sauce over a pile of delicious mashed potatoes. We had a great visit to the newly opened Rod's Steakhouse. We were curious if it was going to be as good as it used to be under different management. It didn't disappoint. We had all things veggie at a steakhouse! Fried onion rings, fried zucchini and Brussels sprouts along with house salads. The zucchini was amazing! Blue cheese dressing and salad was so yummy! Fresh and cold, served in a chilled bowl! The Parker house rolls served with honey butter were excellent! I could have eaten 10! And all of the staff was so friendly! We will be back! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! Food: If no stars were an option that is what I would rate this restaurant! The menu has two filets listed: One for $39 and the other $75 If you are going to have a $75 steak on your menu, I would expect a lot nicer dinner than it was served. (We didn't order steak, thank gosh!) I ordered "grilled" shrimp skewers. The plate was full of butter, I mean laying in a puddle of butter. Shrimp were not grilled and didn't eat them because it had a bad ammonia after taste. ( I'm pretty sure they were bad shrimp). My husband ordered a salad. The salad was bagged lettuce with sticky croutons. And the Italian salad dressing was store bought. We were served dressing that was gelatinous! Service: The service was terrible! However, you can tell the server had no idea what he was doing, so we felt bad for the kid. He obviously had no training! It was my birthday and my husband must have told them 3 times. When you give a five star review on Yelp, it says amazing! What went well? Everything was amazing on the first visit. Also, our second visit. We went a little early, but there was a line when we left, really cute place maybe not cute but it's a Steakhouse. Lorena was our server and could train customer service to just about anyone. She was genuinely friendly made an effort to get to know us and made suggestions from the menu. They have a large selection of wine and beer. Soup and salad was very good. I believe the soup is homemade on a rotating basis. When you ask if the prime rib is rare and the cook comes out to show you what color it is before you order you know you've hit the jackpot. My steak was perfect as was my husband's. Loaded baked potatoes are just that. Loaded! Warm rolls come out to help ruin your dinner but I can tell you we still saved room for the crème brûlée. They take reservations and depending upon the day of the week and the time it's a good idea. But ask for Lorena's section you will not be disappointed. And I absolutely do not intend to imply that the rest of the employees are not awesome. They all seem to help one another out if needed. Even the manager cleans tables! Sorry, no pictures. Everything about this experience was awful. There was a wait, we accepted that. They were out of so many items, we accepted that because it was the end of the night. The waitress was accommodating until she started giving us attitude about removing drinks that were gross from our bill. She started arguing with us and made it personal. Then she got the manager and he started sticking up for her while she tried to keep arguing. It was so ridiculous. By far, the BEST steakhouse we have ever been to! The service was top notch, everyone working was attentive to our table and our every need. Bridgette was our server and was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and all the menu offerings. Our table ordered various cuts of meat, as all menu options were so tempting. One of us ordered the K-4 ribeye dinner option and the beef was absolutely delicious!
