poke bowl version of Northern Lights
    Jessica R.

Mainly a sushirrito place, but I liked how I can convert any burrito to a poke bowl. For the northern lights poke bowl, shrimp tempura was a nice add. I'm not a fan of the guacamole, would have preferred sliced avocado. Everything else was fairly good.

located in brooklyn carreta, i've noticed there are several rollin fresh carts around town! service was friendly and FAST. i only waited around 6-ish minutes for my order. portlandia burrito was yummy, although there was a way bigger chunk of cream cheese than i would've liked. i also wish the ratio of slaw cabbage to salmon was a bit different. skin chips were sooo good, a bit on the greasier side but skin is probably my favorite part about eating fish. the accompanying sauce had a spicyness to it. for $4 you get a good portion too.

3.6 stars. The fish was fresh, but the sushi burrito lacked wow factor and was unexpectedly spicy, which she said it wouldn't be. The poke bowl was tasty, filled with rice, veggies, and salmon. Portions were modest. We also tried the spam Musubi. As an outdoor food truck, table cleanliness was expectedly subpar, with some sticky tables. I can't expect too much from a food truck stop. Despite this, the food was overall good. We'll be back.

$5 hamachi collar, good quantity for price

I like it! But I don't love it. Sashimi grade fish is not cheap, but there was more imitation crab filler than poke and that was disappointing. I also ordered the hamachi collar for $5, good sized appetizer if you like yellowtail collars. Overall flavors were good and the salad config was plentiful. I appreciate the uniqueness of presentation, but there are a lot of poke choices in PDX now as well.

I've been looking for a new place to get Poké and I think I might've found it. Rollin' Fresh has a menu with such variety. I ordered the Forbidden City as a Poké bowl over half rice and half salad. The flavor combo was good and I was pleasantly surprised at the freshness that the pico added to the bowl. I don't know if I can stomach a Sushirito, but I will definitely go back for their Poké. Oh

I decided to come here when I saw another poke place I wanted to go to was closed. The service was good, they were nice and friendly. But the food was really bad... I paid $15 for warm fish and rice and a couple of veggies. Definitely not worth it. I left hungry afterwards and headed to go grab food elsewhere.

Really tasty sushi burritos in a nice food truck area in NW. got northern lights and a fun appetizer with avocado and spicy tuna. Plenty of seating too. Would definitely return! They had a booze food truck not far away.

Poke bowl, one long stringy piece of scrap fish

Any quality of the food is overshadowed by a crap attitude of the disrespectful kid taking the orders and begrudgingly throwing condiments & utensils in the bag, then nothing tops walking away only to hear the cook talking negatively about you for no other reason than you are wearing a surgical mask to protect yourself and everyone around you! What kind of bigotry is that?! I'm giving you my money and attention and standing quietly 8 feet away, I don't need your bs... there's enough of that going on in the world. Oh and P.S. you forgot part of my order. Here's a pic of some massacred piece of fish scraps.

Cute, little cart in NW! Extremely friendly woman helping us order. Took about 10 minutes to get the food and it was very fresh. Great variety on the menu and many options!

I got the bento with 2 onigiri- green garlic & white miso and ginger & pistachio miso (what??)- I made it gf so they gave me gluten free karaage instead of the potato fritter. Amazing is an understatement! Couldn't take any photos because I demolished it. Very chill environment and staff, and the individual helping me (owner or manager?) was so helpful! 100/10 recommend. You need to go here! (Only note is that the onigiri does fall apart- it's brown rice so unavoidable- so I wouldn't wear long sleeves unless you can roll them up lol)

She had recommended it, was excited to share it with us. There was no single incident that explains what happened. Instead, it was a series of interactions that became increasingly dismissive, hostile, and ultimately humiliating. The first moment that gave us pause came when my friend's ID was returned so carelessly that it landed on the floor. The server then walked away without explanation, only to return and inform us she would not be serving us drinks. Being denied a drink was never the issue, though the manner in which it was handled felt abrupt and unwarranted. When we attempted to understand the concern, there was no effort to communicate, clarify, or review the additional identification we had available, including a passport. Instead, the interaction became increasingly adversarial. We were told we could cause the restaurant to lose its liquor license and were ultimately instructed to leave. At that point, it no longer felt like a conversation about identification. It felt like a complete breakdown in professionalism and basic respect. Before leaving, my friend calmly asked to speak with someone in charge. She was visibly upset, holding back tears, but remained composed throughout the interaction. Rather than attempting to understand or de-escalate the situation, another staff member escalated it further, becoming confrontational and referring to her as a "bish." I have worked in food service and understand that mistakes happen. Portland has no shortage of exceptional restaurants. I would spend my time and money elsewhere. 0/5

I was looking for food nearby and came across this restaurant. The food was surprisingly delicious! We ordered the chicken katsu curry, kama-age udon (hokkai miso soup), and the kama-meshi seafood. The chicken katsu was cooked perfectly: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! The sauce also was the perfect texture and taste. My favorite was the kama-age udon with the hokkai miso soup. I love udon but sometimes don't like how thick it is because it fills you up faster and is harder to digest, the udon here is thinner which I fell in love with! It's soft and chewy and the perfect thickness: you dip it on the soup when you eat it. I also loved the soup, I usually have leftover soup when eat noodles, but I finished every last sip! Definitely recommend this dish if you were to only order one item! We also ordered the kama-meshi seafood. I thought this one tasted okay! The flavors of the seafood come through, but I personally like stronger and heavier flavors. It was worth a try! Parking: This restaurant is in downtown portland so it was difficult to find parking. We ended up parking at a nearby garage and paid for parking. They do have a few street parking spots near the restaurant if you want to test your luck! Seating and service: We were seated really quickly as we went on a weekday! They have several tables and a large table that can be reserved as well as bar spots. The restaurant overall looks really nice and is pretty spacious. The servers were really nice and fast to get you what you need! A side note: they have heated toilet seats in their restroom so that's always a plus!

The service was wonderful--the staff were mostly Japanese and very kind--and the portions for the dinner sets were generous for the price. However, the quality of the sushi felt like a standard neighborhood spot. The fish appeared to be pre-cut and frozen rather than freshly broken down in the kitchen. The biggest disappointment was the Hokkaido Uni. At $40 for two pieces ($20 each), I expected top-notch quality, but it sadly lacked freshness. The tempura was ordinary as well, though the complimentary amuse-bouche (tofu, broccoli, and asparagus) was surprisingly delicious. It's a decent spot if you want a high-value, casual sushi dinner, but since I prioritize the freshness of the fish, I don't think I'll be back.
