The new owners are amazing. They are fast and friendly. The donuts are exquisite. It's a small place that doesn't have much table seating. If there was one little table or two with an umbrella, I would make the place better that being said, I know there's a lot of homeless in the area and they would just take it advantage of the owners. read more

I love donut shops that are open 24 hours. When I'm in the area and craving something sweet, rolling pin is my go to! The donuts are reasonably priced, but I do find the donut holes a little expensive - but they are custard filled. I'm actually not a big fan of them though, I like regular ones more. The regular glaze and chocolate glaze are my go to though - so soft and melt in your mouth! Highly recommend Rolling Pin if you're in the San Bruno area! read more

I love the donuts here! My favorites are any old fashioned or the blueberry cake. Came on a Saturday night and was able to find parking in their private lot. There was a little bit of a line but worth the wait. Place was nice and clean and there was a very nice selection. Customer service was ok but could of been better. I think the line supercedes phone calls IMO. There was only one employee that i could see. Anyways 4 stars from me. read more

Ever been to San Bruno? No? Well you should they have a 24 hr donut shop. If that doesnt put a city on the map what does? A sleeply little part of town with a donut shop in a beautifully decorated if not a bit overdone exterior. Tons of coffee choices. French, mild roast decaf, etc etc. I tried a bit of each and they really were all different. Cream in a thermos. Seemed a good place for cream rather than in a mere plastic bucket like at Nations. 1:10am friday night/ saturday morning. A warm day turned into a fosty night. A small hot coffee in hand and an generously sized apple fritter for $3.50. Jet planes roaring loudly above from the nearby SFO as I eat outside across the street from another bar or restaurant that draws in more people. Yup big line here at this hour. All the bar goers are trickling out at this hour on a Friday night. Minus one star for no custard jelly donut. Thise are my favorite. read more

oh maaaaaaaaahhhh. I'm a fan of Winchell's Donuts here in Vegas because they're so doughy. Welp, ladies and gents, there's a new doughy-iest (and fluffy) donut ..sadly, not in my town... but I def know where to get them -- SF! It's a quaint looking shop that was quite busy when I got there and they have more than what's displayed by the cashier. I got my usual choco glaze donut, few maple glazed donuts, splashed in a long john here and there; and even a bear claw for good measure. Left with a dozen and ate before getting home to Palo Alto. This particular location does not make their donuts well. They need to be eaten as soon as your purchase or they become stale or soggy. I've never had to throw away uneaten donuts except from this location. The glazed blueberry and strawberry donuts are literally part soggy when you buy them. The maple donut... the maple glaze is off and not prepared like the other maple glaze on donuts bought at nearby donut shops. I've had better cinnamon rolls literally everywhere else but here. I will not buy donuts from this location for any work functions because of the quality. Seriously! read more

A bit disappointed our last two visits. We love kruller, also known as French donuts, and they used to be the bomb here. Unfortunately not only has the price has gone way up ($4) due to materials per staff but also they have been stale our last two visits to your store. Rolling Pin owners, if you are going to charge such a high price for these specialty donuts please make them twice a day perhaps in smaller batches. French donuts just aren't any good stale, they have to be fresh. We came in around 3 pm and we were served donuts from the case. One more request, please start offering the dark chocolate glazing you used to make , it tastes so much better than your current "milk" or lighter chocolate frosting. A long time fan of your store. They were awfully greasy, to me. I know that type of donut is usually greasy, but these were too much. I tasted one and I was done. 5 stars for the donuts minus 1 star for the service. I came into Rolling Pin the day before I was about to purchase 5 dozen donuts for a staff party. I asked the lady working that day about whether they accepted credit card and if I needed to do a pre-order or if I can just come in and pick them up because I had a large order. She told me they accepted credit cards and that I can just come in and pick them up. The next day, I arrived at 5:50AM to order my donuts. There were a couple people in line before me and 1 other person behind me with 2 ladies working on orders. When I got to the front, I told the lady I wanted to order 5 dozen donuts. Then she just looked at me like I was crazy and asked me again. And that was when I said yes, 5 dozen donuts please. She proceeded to ask me if I had called in to order beforehand and I said no because I came in the day prior and the other lady said I did not have to call in to order even with the large amount. Then she gave me an annoyed look that basically signified that I should have ordered prior to coming in so that she didn't have to rush packing all the donuts. Overall, if your craving a donut, go ahead and stop by here since they are open 24/7. Just don't expect to have the nicest customer service! read more
