I've heard about Rolling Pin Donuts for a while now, but this was my first time finally stopping by -- and I'm so glad I did. There's something special about walking into a place that feels like it's been part of the community for years. You can tell this isn't just another donut shop. The donuts are made fresh daily, and you can taste that care in every bite. We picked up a variety to try (because how do you even choose just one?), and each one felt classic, comforting, and honest. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating -- warm in a way that feels genuine, not forced. It makes such a difference when you're welcomed like that. And can we talk about the box? I absolutely love the design and colors. It feels nostalgic and iconic, like you're holding a little piece of San Bruno history in your hands. You can sense the legacy behind this place. Local businesses like this are what give a neighborhood its soul. If you're anywhere near San Bruno, skip the chains and come here instead. Let's continue supporting spots that pour heart into what they do. Rolling Pin Donuts, you've earned a new fan.

It's so cute! And charming. And very old-fashioned. When I walked in, I didn't immediately spot anything in the place that didn't exist in the 1980s or '90s at the very latest. Yes, the credit-card reader is modern, but I mean looking at the walls, the coffeemakers, the showcases of donuts. The sight and smell transported me instantly to my childhood, and my dad was asking five-year-old John S. whether he wanted a cake donut with pink frosting and rainbow "sprinklies" or donut holes instead. (At that age, I always opted for the donut holes.) The prices are from now, but the selection is amazing. I think I bought three or four donuts. I ate one in my car in the parking lot, and saved the rest for later. They were delicious fresh and a day old and a few days old and refrigerator cold. They have their own parking lot, and the place is tiny, so I can't imagine parking would ever be a problem. This might have been a four-star review back in the day solely because there used to be so many donut places that weren't ripoffs with super friendly employees. These employees are nice but not eager and sweet like many donut- and ice-cream-shop employees used to be. But it's open 24/7, and who can beat that in a suburban area with very easy freeway access from SFO and either the 101 or the 280? (It's right near the 380, which connects those other two freeways.)

Came here the other to satisfy a late night doughnut craving. Normally I get excited about the smell of doughnuts but when I stepped out the car and walk inside, nothing. What didn't sit well with me was I ordered one sugar twist donut, and not even a minute later she tossed the rest of that tray right in front of me. Why even sell it to me if it's deemed bad enough to toss. But I bought it anyway just to see. Lo and behold, it was stale and a little hard. Makes me think they just want my money and don't care about quality. I would rather them warn me they're going to be tossed instead of selling me one THEN tossing it. I did however enjoy the cinnamon roll after I microwaved it the next day for about 10 seconds. Even then, I'm wondering how long it was sitting out for before they would have tossed it. Then again, late night probably isn't the ideal time to get a fresh batch of donuts. The other donuts I got were pretty good, but even then I'm wondering how close were they to being thrown out.

Greetings to all, this not my first time to this little powerhouse of a doughnut shop: The parking lot is small but gets the job done. Inside the shop it was very clean with that Fresh baked Goodies smell; Mmm. The service is always friendly with a smile. The doughnuts and other goodies are always fresh and delicious; l have always had a good positive experience coming here. Nice job Rolling Pin

Definitely one of my favorite donut shops because everything is made fresh and open 24/7. My favorite donut is definitely the coconut crumble, it's so soft and moist with a slightly crunch exterior due to the coconut shreds. Every time I come here, that's a must. They also have coffee and tea for anyone that's tired, not craving any donuts. There's usually one or two people working here, so there's never a wait to get your donut cravings in. The donut holes with fillings are also another favorite here, either plane or filled with custard topped with maple glaze. Recently, I saw they now have churros here!! It's good when it's fresh or heated up. The inside of this donut shop can fit about 15-20 people I would say. Definitely stop by here for your late night donut cravings.

My go to!!! When you go here try the donut holes because they are life changing. I dream of them. The workers seems like a family owned business and it seems sweet

For a hole-in-the-wall donut shop, it seems to always have customers rolling in for rolling pin donut no matter what time it is! After dinner, we dropped by to pick up some donuts for some friends and a few for ourselves. Donuts are always being made, so they're pretty fresh. Better than some other donut shops that don't have that many customers and donuts just sit there all day. We have tried their glazed, chocolate, maple glazed, coconut, and lemon and blueberry filled donuts. All were yummy with good, fluffy texture. Also tried their yummy apple fritters too. It's the old school type of donut that's more substantial. Highly recommend if you're in search for something sweet in the middle of the night. They're open 24/7!

I'm a regular here and though I don't live in the area, work brings me to the SFO area often and Rolling Pin is a mandatory stop. It's 24-7 so always open, there are always customers here so the donuts are fresh, and the staff that work here are efficient and friendly. I don't know if I'm embarrassed or flattered that they recognize me now even though I live an hour away lol I've tried just about everything they have here and would say that the traditional donuts are their best. Think glazed raised, twists, raspberry jelly filled, blueberry cake, maple bars. This is not a donut shop for the "aesthetic" crowd. The donuts in the glass case are brown brown brown. The stranger the flavor, the less delicious. Stick to the basics here and you will leave happy. An order of 6 usually gets you a pink box, good for folks like me who don't like their precious merchandise to get squished until it's in my mouth!

I had a huge craving for donuts and had heard so many good things about rolling pin. The decor and service were cute and friendly. Alas, the donuts were only ok. I had a chocolate raspberry jelly filled donut where the dough was a little heavier than I would have preferred and the jelly was not evenly filled throughout the donut. We also had a chocolate glazed French cruller. The cruller wasn't as fluffy/custardy as I would expect and the oil was a little stale. Chocolate glaze on both donuts were good.

Rolling Pin has been around forever and is one of the best family owned donut shops in the Bay! They are also open 24 hours which is a huge bonus! We stopped here for a coffee and a donut and got a chocolate covered donut with vanilla custard filling. The custard was thick and creamy and the donut was super moist and soft but had a chewy texture. The coffee was tasty as well! The workers were so nice and were really helpful with explaining the donut options to us. Highly recommend stopping here for donuts!

24/7 donut shop with a solid selection! I stopped by for a sweet treat around 10pm and they were still well stocked for the night. I was just coming back from dropping off a friend from the airport and this was 5 minutes away! I got a blueberry cake donut and it was perfect, not too sweet with a good crisp outside and soft inside. Everything else looked tasty but honestly one donut was good enough for the night. Seems like the apple fritters are a hit, theyre literally the size of your face - a couple customers before me also got one for themselves. Might have to come back and try!

Rolling pin is a solid donut/pastry spot especially to bring into the office! I love their variety of classic pastry/donuts. I appreciate how big the donuts are and how fresh too! Their glazed is always fluffy and delicious. Today we got a wide variety to share. My favorite is the classic glazed or chocolate glazed. The bear claw is also amazing and bigger than my hand! The folks here are real nice and I love their service. I highly recommend stopping by to grab a box and share
