They will let you to the entire order and then will e tell you because the order is more then $100 you have to in person to pay before they will start do the order and hang up the phone on you're face! Nice little mom-and-pop sushi spot next to the Bellevue Library. One interesting thing was that the server, sushi chef, and cashier were the same person. Never had that experience before! I enjoyed my soup, miso soup, and sushi... but it was definitely just okay. I had the sushi set b, so I had the spicy tuna roll (8 pieces) and about 6 pieces of nigiri. The rice was good and the fish was fine. Perhaps the rolls are more exciting. Not especially excited to go back, but it was an a-ok sushi experience. read more

My boyfriend and I recently moved into the neighborhood right next to this place and we wanted to come try it out. We came here during the lunch hours and the man working there was very polite and kind. We ordered two rolls there, miso soup, and edamame. The chef did an immaculate job making the sushi and I could tell he took great care in it, which was nice. The dining area is cozy, quiet, and relaxing. It's definitely a good little place to have a lunch or dinner. The rolls also were pretty decently priced and they give you more than just a couple rolls unlike some other places. We definitely will come back to try more of his sushi! They have a lot of options so chances are, anybody could find something they like! read more

Given I haven't eaten out too much during the last couple months, I was craving sushi and wanted to find a place new to me. My usual spots in Bellevue include Japonessa (for happy hour only, because of the cost) and Ginza, but I found Rolls and Rolls a couple blocks away from where I live. At first glance, the menu look extremely reasonably priced, and I ended up ordering the Sushi Combo B for takeout. It came with both sushi and a spicy tuna roll, which is basically my ideal combo. The fish was fresh, and like I mentioned, I think the cost was very reasonable for the amount of food I got. Next time I may try out one of the specialty rolls-- unlike a lot of sushi places where you might end up paying $15-18 for a similar item, Rolls and Rolls is priced closer to $11-13. When I picked up my order only the sushi chef (and presumably owner?) was there and I was the only order he had waiting, so I really hope others discover this tiny place too so that they can survive. read more

This place is lovely! I orders 3 rolls on the phone for lunch takeout. The order was ready in 20 minutes (exactly when I was told to show up) and was delicious! I got the caterpillar roll, a spicy scallop roll and a spicy California roll. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented with condiments already set up in the food containers (except the soy sauce was in packets which is perfect so it didn't splash around). We live nearby and will definitely be going back here! They also seem to be doing well with COVID precautions (even offering sanitized pens to sigh the receipt which is great)! read more

Stumbled upon this great little hole in the wall place. The sushi rolls here are damn good. They have a lot of traditional rolls like Spicy Tuna and Spider Rolls. They also have some other creative rolls like the 747 which has lemon zest in it and making it fresh. Such a cool little extra flavor. They even surprised us with a "dessert sushi" which was surprisingly good. It had tangy dried fruits and fresh apples. So great. I would definitely go back. The place has a few too many rolls with cream cheese in it, but the local clientele probably really likes it. Also, not a great place to go for sushi. Popped in for lunch as my office is right down the road. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick although I was the only one there when it first opened. I had the rainbow roll and the geisha roll. I'm usually not a big sauce person so the geisha was a bit sweet for me. Both rolls were large and fairly priced, the fish seemed fresh and good pieces. They have a few lunch options on the menu that aren't shown on the menu pics here. - So-so food but nice service - Hubby and I were here for lunch because we were somewhat late for boiling point and we didn't feel like waiting in lines. We ordered a rainbow sushi combo and a Sunny roll. The food was mediocre, but the waitress was really nice. Most of the people who came here work around this area, and they were half-filled when we were there (though it's a small restaurant). For rolls, my friend and I ordered: 747 roll, seared salmon roll, and NY special roll. We also got avocado bubble tea and cold tofu. The avocado bubble tea wasn't actually like bubble tea, it was more like a slushy. It was surprisingly really good! I was very surprised by how good the flavor was. The cold tofu was decent, but a bit bland. Hard to compete with Taiwanese restaurants for good cold tofu. The seared salmon roll had a pleasantly warm and creamy texture. It was pretty good, but didn't quite hit the spot like I thought it would. I feel like the seared salmon at Sushi Maru had an even more delicate texture and more flavor. The NY special had a decent amount of salmon, and the fish was fresh. But once again the favor wasn't very strong. The roll tasted kind of dull. The 747 actually had the most interesting flavor out of the 3 rolls we tried. A bit of lemon flavor that gave it a nice tangy kick. But there's a salmon lover roll at Ku Sushi that has both the generous amount of salmon plus the lemon flavor that I liked more than both the NY roll and the 747 (the fish isn't as fresh at Ku though, beware). Overall the rolls were decent but I was a bit disappointed, as I guess I expected too much from reading the Yelp reviews. I've enjoyed rolls at most other sushi places more. But the atmosphere was nice and cozy and the people were nice. read more

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese sushi place, do avoid here. I don't mind whether it's authentic, but I do care if it's delicious and fresh. We, 4 people, ordered different plates from the lunch menu. The raw fish meat, except salmon, was not fresh, and thus not delicious. The price was a bit higher than those Kaiten Sushi (conveyor belt sushi) places. The reason why I still gave 2 stars was because the owner was friendly and pleasant. Because there was only the owner in the restaurant, it took us a long time to get our orders. You may need to wait longer if there are other customers there at the same time. read more

If sushi is your comfort food, this is your place in downtown Bellevue! Because I live in the same building as Rolls and Rolls Plus, I take this place for granted. But it should be shared with everyone! It's my go-to place when I want a cozy, comfortable neighborhood-y experience for sushi. While I appreciate the super-fancy omakase experience once in a while, sushi is in my weekly rotation menu so I appreciate solidly delicious versions that don't cost an arm and a leg. (That way I can get it more often, duh.) Also, because I am allergic to rice, Kris, the awesome owner, makes me special hand rolls without rice (spicy scallop, and the All-star with smoked salmon). There are very very few authentic ethnic restaurants in Seattle. No I don't mean authentic like this is what true Japanese sushi is or should taste like. (Does the special Dragon Roll sound particularly Japanese?) I mean authentic as in the sense that this is a man's dedicated work to his craft. Was that dramatic? Maybe. But can you give me a list of names in 10 seconds and less of around the corner neighborhood sushi chefs that immigrated and served sushi for 11 years in this city? Yes, the wait is on the tip of horrendous because there is only one chef, but to me, the wait is worth it. No this isn't Kashiba's or Jiro's, and it isn't trying to be. It's about 600 sq ft of a restaurant. It's meant to be small. And even if it took us longer than 20 mins for food, on the compliments of the chef, we got some edamame. (So basically guys, just order some small appetizers) We ordered the avocado roll, special bulgogi roll, and the dragon roll. The rice was plump and soft, it's fresh. The execution is beautiful. The ingredients tasted fresh. If something was frozen months ago, I definitely could not tell. I haven't tried the nigiri or the sashimi, but I will come back for them. But I wholesomely enjoyed these, so I doubt I'll feel disappointed in the future. The bulgogi tasted better than most bulgogi in korean restaurants. The eel was soft and the sauce had the right kick. The avocado was also a good texture. Half the time I'm expecting to bite into a frozen portion, but none was. Following the dish we got a "dessert" sushi roll, apple on top of a sushi with assorted dried fruits as a filling. Basically, for affordable, tasty Seattle sushi, I'd come here for lunch and dinner and more. Most expensive roll is like $12 and there's like 10 of the rolls. It's not a crappy lunch, it's not some 5 star posh restaurant. It's just the heart and soul of a sushi chef. And I'd come back to support that any day. read more

Amazed at the variety of rolls. The name does say it all. Very fresh and I think an excellent value. Staff/owner are incredibly friendly and attentive. That said, don't be in a hurry. I have been fortunate to go to this place when my daughter and I have one of our "outings" and we are not in a hurry. But the small staff and attentive prep means you will spend some time waiting. I really want to like this place as much as other reviewers, especially since it's a mom and pop, but... I ordered my food through Doordash. Just some nigiri with a side salad and edamame. First issue: There was no soy sauce. I had to ask someone to get me some at the store which I got over an hour later. I put the sushi in the fridge while I waited. In the meantime... The salad was very underwhelming: shredded iceberg lettuce, a few carrot shreds, a few slices of apple and cucumber on top, with a dressing that was just like plain mayo. I ate the apple and cucumber and left the rest. I felt that something acidic and some sunflower seeds would go a long way to improving that salad. The edamame was very plain; I added salt. It was fine. When I finally got the soy sauce and bit into the sushi, I was again underwhelmed. I don't like a big mouthful of raw fish and I found it way too thick for my taste. It also fell apart when I tried to eat it--the rice didn't hold. The pickled ginger was in a bunch of tiny little pieces, not what I am used to. It was just a mess. I threw most of this meal out. Won't order again from this place but seems like there are enough folks that like it--so take my opinion with the usual grain of salt. read more

Small sushi shop right across from the DT Bellevue library. It almost looks like a fast food joint, and is quite informal. Service was fairly slow as there was only one chef and server so it took a while to get our food. Prices are decent and they have a varied menu of rolls at different price points. They have the usual popular rolls, but they also have lots of custom rolls that are quite interesting. All the rolls tasted good. $4 super simple rolls (spicy salmon, tuna, egg) $6-$7 standard rolls (california, bulgoki, philadelphia, salmon skin, teriyaki chicken) $10-$12 special rolls (spider, oishi, tempura, red dragon) * Bulgoki roll - delicious beef bulgoki in a roll * Smoked salmon roll - tastes like it sounds * Oishi Roll - This row is special in that it is baked. So comes out piping hot,. The mix of the eel, shrimp, baked scallop, and shrimp and sauce all kind of melt together and makes a delicious gooey mess in your mouth. Solid sushi! Went in Saturday around 11:30am and was the only one there so service was fast. I got the Red Dragon roll and a Beef Bibimbap handroll. It seems to be glod quality, nothing amaaazing but I'd go back. I just have to figure out where to park - the lot I chose said commercial/retail parking, but you actually need a permit for that to apply. Almost got a ticket but they let me go since I was leaving. read more
