A lot to like here but a really uneven experience. The waitress was great. She had great recommendations and was quick with my order and refills. On her recommendation, I ordered the Ajillo Shrimp Pasta. The shrimp were fat and juicy. There was a lot of shrimp too. It was a large portion size. The pasta was light and tasted fresh. It was SUPER nice. The buttered toast was better than buttered toast should be. The waitress warned me about the spice level of the pasta but honestly the heat was perfect. The sauce that the pasta was in was really salty. It happens sometimes. I'm kind of a cannoli snob but she said the shell was made in-house so I ordered 2 to go. I asked for the regular cannoli and not the blueberry flavored cannoli. I received a blueberry flavored cannoli anyway. I was only going to eat one cannoli and give the other away, so not a big deal. The cannoli shell might be the best Arizona has to offer. It was very nice. The filling was great too. Not too sweet. I did find a couple of hairs in my cannoli. Didn't love that. The outside of this place looks pretty cool with the ocotillo wands. The inside is more of a sports bar vibe with loud music and big tvs. I'd try it again. This has been one of our spots for wood fire pizza but something was off this time around. I really hope they didn't change management or cooks. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it's been amazing but this time we decided to do a custom pizza. Did not have any flavor whatsoever, it reminded us of pizza you order from a gas station. We will stick to a specialty pizza next time. We also tried their garlic shrimp pasta, also no flavor. We still had room for dessert and order a tiramisu and that was disappointing (didn't get a picture of it) it should not have been on the menu at all since it was just a slice of cake far from being tiramisu. read more

We ordered the fried calamari it was yummy, well seasoned and crunchy. My wife was craving wood fired pizza and we stumbled upon this place on google! Boy, are we glad that we did! This place is awesome! The hot wings are HUGE and well sauced. The mozzarella sticks are decent. The pizza is fantastic and definitely the star of the show though. The ambiance is great with exceptional service, modern decor, and just a really great vibe. We went here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was empty. It could be the location, but the restaurant itself is nice with a cool vibe and an awesome looking bar. We had wood fired pizza which was very good. My wife is gluten intolerant, so she had their gluten free crust which she said was excellent. The service and waitress were very nice. A New Favorite Spot This was our first visit to Roma 23. The restaurant is clean and the staff are welcoming and even helped us select dishes based on our preferences On this visit we shared Jalapeño Hummus, Mango Habanero Wings and Pepperoni Pizza and everyrhing was delicious. The Jalapeño humus was my favorite, it had just the right amount of kick and was full of flavor. The flavor of the Mango Habanero wings was also very good. The wings were crispy, juicy and large, some of the best wings I've had in a while and the pizza was the perfect combination of toppings and sauce and the crust was amazingly tasty.. So excited to have a new dining option with a full bar in the neighborhood! We came during happy hour and had the mozzarella sticks which had a perfect cheese to breading ratio. The sauce was cold but they brought us a new one fairly quickly. He ordered the beef ravioli and loved it. I had the shrimp pasta. It was spicy but delicious. This place is like a little Italian restaurant but with 90s music. Menu is very decent not to overwhelm with different types of food. The service was great really friendly and helpful. The Godfather pizza ( pepperoni, sausage and chorizo) was great it was crispy. Wings were crispy and really great. The moment we entered, we knew this was the place to be. The patio had the best vibe and was a welcomed setting that helped us escape the chaos of work. The service was excellent...the wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent suggestions. Some must haves were the shrimp ajillo pasta, the pasta bolognese and wings. We also did the Godfather pizza and a make your own with pepperoni, mushroom, and jalapeños. It was perfectly crispy with just a hint of rustic smokey flavor. For drinks, we got the purse drink, Ciao Bella, that we never wanted to end. ..And the When in Roma, which had 4 different Aeperol Spritz's. Krystal is a master bartender. The only reason they are getting even a 2-star is because the salad we had was good and the Lead manager who I've spoken to (twice now) was trying to help me- or at least hopefully she was.. We had a horrible experience where we came in with a little less than 30 minutes before close, and we ordered apps and then when we were ready to order our entrees, the kitchen "closed". No warning- no nothing. What's worse is our waitress said she asked them if they could make literally anything, considering we had at least 22minutes before close.. Didn't happen. What's even better was the fact that they had no problem making it known they were closing soon as one gentleman was literally staring at us as he cleaned the tables around us, almost seemed like he was trying to make us uncomfortable so we would leave. There were at least 3 other big parties in there, so no clue what two people was such an inconvenience. The General manager has not reached out, as I gave her ample time, and was told she would- TWICE. She's had over a month. At the end of the day, customer service is everything and this place has none- so I wouldn't recommend if you want good service. You can also get good food other places.. I understand closing times and what not as well, but if you don't want to work, go find a job somewhere else. read more
