We probably go here because how close it is to home ... but ... they are pretty consistent with their food quality. Pasta portions are good and their Roast Beef sandwiches are good. They might have the best cheesecake with strawberries around the area. Odd, I know, but we like their cheesecake better than all the dessert places / bakeries within a 25 mile radius. Pizza, wings, and fish frys are great.however my wife and I made the mistake of ordering pasta primavera and chicken parm. The vegetables in the primavera were over cooked and the the chicken in was rubbery in the parm. This place is too hit or miss for me to go back for a dining experience but, as I stated, the pizza, wings, and fish frys are great for take out. The dining room has fake plants that needed to be dusted and having awards on the wall from 15 years ago isn't too appealing. Can't imagine the kitchen being much cleaner. read more

I was torn between giving this restaurant 4 or 5 stars. If you are looking for a fancier, more expensive restaurant, then don't come here. However, if good tasting food is what you desire, then give this place a try. If you look through most of the reviews, you will see they are mostly 4 or 5 starts. A few people had some issues. I have not seen what they wrote though. I was introduced to this place by a friend who has been coming here for years. So far I've been here 3 times. All of them have been around lunchtime. I have loved the food every time. The staff is nice, the food is great and the price was crazy cheap for a lunch meal! Between the both of us today, we had Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna, Fettuccine Alfredo, Turkey Club sandwich, and Chicken Pasta soup. While the Fettuccine was not the best on the planet, it was still pretty good. The plate portion was decent size too. I am definitely coming back again!! I came here recently with a large group, intent on trying as many flavors of wings as possible. I think that we succeeded! Our waitress was so helpful with her recommendations. She helped us pick out great flavors and helped us select packages that allowed us to get the best "bang for our buck." Flavors that we tried included: - Jack Daniels BBQ ( Amazing. Great texture and flavor. Voted the table's favorite wing) - Jamaican Jerk (SO good, another table favorite. Not too spicy, just really flavorful) - Honey Garlic (Also amazingly good. My personal favorite. I loved the stickiness of the skin and underpinning of garlic in every bite) - Raspberry Chipotle (Spicier than expected, but really yummy) - Grilled BBQ (Pretty good, especially considering that I don't usually like grilled wings.) - Mild (The table's least favorite, but we have no one to blame but ourselves. Mild is rarely very flavorful) - Hot (Didn't touch this one, as my poor little mouth isn't fond of very hot things. But I heard they were great!) Overall, the wings were fresh, meaty, crispy, and all-around fantastic. Although I was incredulous about the selection of venue when it was suggested, my doubts were completely eliminated after I stumbled to my car completely chock full of delicious fat. The overall environment isn't anything to write a postcard to your mother about, but it was clean and cozy. Inexcusable food . 2 of 3 of us couldn't even eat a 2nd piece. (A large pizza) Rude &disrespectful (profanity) conversation with owner ! Larry) 3 of us in attendance during the phone call. 90 yr. old caller was calm, polite, factual & polite asking for some kind of recompense. This was only 3 rd time in 5 years we've had to complain. But We order from them constantly here at our Senior residence. We made them aware of that yet, they said they didn't care. "Go ahead and order from somewhere else" and offered a $5.00 discount on next order! The pizza cost $25! Our Residents Organization will be made aware on 1/13. We all back each other. At our age it's how we survive the quality of Customer Service like this. There are about 5 other Pizza/ Sub/ Wing places within the same 2-4 mile radius. We depend on delivery. Never had to resort to a post like this. If anything, I have called places to compliment them! We're vet slow to "bash" any establishment trying to survive today. read more

I had Fettuccini Alfaro Cajun Chicken. The chicken was tender and spicy but the pasta was a but much. It was all you get on a dinner plate everything is expensive and separate $9.25 for small. Salad is not that great just iceberg, two rings of cooking onion, and hard piece of tomato, a green olive; and did I mention it was $3.40. Iced tea was almost $3.00. $15.65 for a just ok meal. From what I understand Chicken wings are great and Won the best wing contest many years in a row. To bad I don't eat chicken elbows. The cooks do need cleaner tops and gloves maybe. read more

This looks like a small restaurant and you think pry nothing but please go in you will be satisfied. The have lots to chose from on their menu so there is plenty of variety. The best part of the menu is most anything you can get a half or a full portion which not many places do. So depending on how hungry you are of if you want leftovers you can select your portion. We started with the sampler and the potato skins were so good. Very tender and full of gooey cheese I would definitely get them again. I couldn't decide so I got a chicken finger sub and it was huge I was very full at the end. My fiance got the half portion of the Cajun chicken Alfredo and the spice was just right! The waitress was very attentive and made sure we were happy. I am excited to go back and try more off their menu! If you are in the area make this a restaurant stop! read more

We had visited the Roman Cafe when I was little, and all I can remember is having lasagna that I absolutely hated. The noodles were soggy, the sauce tasted horrible, and it was a dinner after we had all been to a funeral. Not a pleasant experience at all. However, when we were in the mood for pizza, and our favorite local place went out we gave the Roman Cafe another chance and found the best pizza place in NT, possibly in WNY! The delivery is fast (usually within 30-45 minutes) and your food arrives so hot that when you open the box the bottom crust can barely hold the toppings. It gets "sturdier" as it cools, but it rarely has the chance to do that in our household. The standard cheese and pepperoni is great. They don't skimp on the pepperoni like some places do, and the cheese is the perfect amount to me. Sometimes we like to mix it up with a little sausage. The sausage they use is nice and spicy and you get a lot of it. However, you HAVE to try the Sesame Seed crust. It is amazing! They smash the entire crust (bottom and sides) with sesame seeds and when you get it, the bottom is completely crispy, and the sides are just a little bit brown and toasty. It is to die for! Their wings are also great, we generally stick with mild, medium and barbeque. Nothing to go super crazy about but they are very good. I love that their medium really is medium, its not super hot. But it definitely has a little heat. Comes with blue cheese and celery. The celery isn't always great, and we've actually gotten some that was completely limp and browning. We don't stray too far from what we know. They have a killer shrimp dinner for the lenten season. Shrimp, fries, celery and blue cheese. You even get a slab of Italian bread. We also had a great fried chicken dinner with fries and coleslaw that would put Kernel Sanders running with his tail between his legs. Overall, the Roman Cafe is an amazing pizza place with a strange name. We haven't tried any of the "roman" foods that they must offer. And they sometimes have some problems (Incorrect orders, not giving you your food total when you call without you asking) but overall we love this place and I bet you will too. read more

I honestly should have known by how rude the gentleman on the phone was when I ordered didn't even say thank you just hung up. We ordered a large cheese and pepperoni half mushroom and 12 chicken fingers. Pizza was undercooked the sauce was just horrible tasted horrible tried scraping it off the undercooked Pizza. because we were hungry. we ate it. I feel like they poured a pound salt in the dough to make the crust and I put salt on everything,.but this was too much. hate to say it in the time of the pandemic and covid-19 but they have lost a customer. There are many more other local businesses that are polite to their customers and make quality food. Seriously, the man that took our order acted like they were doing us a favor by answering the phone.You didnt. Food was horrible. This is my go to buffalo joint every time I return home. This place won best wings 6 years in a row in the buffalo area and you can tell why. My personal favorite is the french onion soup, Payne's tastes like dirt compared to Romans! Aside from the food the owners are great people, I have heard on numerous occasions about the donations they have provided to local causes/benefits. Just ordered from here using door dash since there were limited options to have chicken marsala delivered (which I was dead set on). Let me just say I was pleasantly surprised. I do not like to give bad reviews but I was not happy the last two times I ordered food from here. The first time, I ordered a dinner and it was to come with bread and butter and a cup of soup. I was told during Covid, they can not include the bread and butter. OK. So then I ordered a cup of french onion soup and was told, Only can order the bowls. ( $$$) So I am paying more for soup because I have to upgrade if I want it and the sides no longer are included but the same price? How is this at all looking out for the customer? The second time, I ordered the Three pasta combo meal. Again, did not get anything included except the pasta. It came in one big foil bowl and the pasta's were all mixed together and sauces running into each other. The lasagna was such a small piece, I could barely see it and the chicken parm was the less than the size of the palm of my hand. The rest was alfredo with white sauce. When a large group of us came to Roman Cafe on Thursday, she was bright, patient, kind, and quite happy. In the hustle and bustle of the evening, I didn't get her name, but it was on 04/21. She did great! I could even hear her asking the staff in the kitchen when our wings would be done. Like angelic sounds to my ears. Again, the food was delicious. For anyone inquiring: best wings are the Jack Daniels, followed closely by the Jamaican Rub. The hot wings aren't so hot, it's just flavored up with a hot sauce, but they were tasty. The Honey Garlic was pretty decent as well, although not my favorite. Our lovely waitress mentioned that they've won awards for the Jack Daniels, so I promise you that I'm not lying about them being the best! Raspberry Chipotle have a little kick to them, but they're good as well. So far I have yet to be disappointed with the food here. No matter what I've tried... chicken alfredo, wings... it's all been delicious! My goal is to take more people here -- it's a gem in the area, and one of the best restaurants in North Tonawanda. I'm originally from NT and have lived away since 1983. I used to go to Roman Cafe when it was on Meadow. We come back to NT once or twice a year and my Wife always loves going here. She loves the Pizza and Subs, i myself love the wings. We will be back in town this week and i am sure we will visit. I live in Texas now and i can tell you the Pizza and Wings are really bad here.
