Even though this place is in downtown Fullerton I've probably passed by this spot about a thousand times and not thought much of it. My girlfriend and I were craving some Italian food and I saw that this spot had good reviews and decided to give it a shot. Wow did this place hit the spot. The lasagna was cooked perfectly with some tasty ground beef. My girlfriend ordered the alfredo with penne pasta and chicken breast which was delicious as well. Even the garlic bread which is just an appetizer was amazing. Don't get me started on the interior, makes you forget you're even in Fullerton and just adds to the dining experience. We have been here a few times and I'm finally writing a review. Came here right when they opened and it was busy! We found out that on Tuesdays they have buy one get one half off entrees! Score! I got the lemon pasta with shrimp. It was really yummy! I would have liked a little more of a tang of lemon in the sauce, but I just added more lemon squeezes. The portion was perfect and I even had left overs. One of my favorites at this restaurant is the house salad with the house dressing. It is so tangy and fresh! Unfortunately we sat at the bar because the restaurant was packed. We still got great service from the bartender, but the seats are small and terrible. I got here a little bit after 5pm and this place was packed. They let us wait at the bar counter and order drinks and appetizers. 90 minutes later our party finally got a table. I like that my pasta order came with a small salad. They gave me a cheese shaker for my pasta. My friends' full salad order portions were huge. There is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant. Randomly stumbled upon this restaurant, was just in the area and I showed her 3 different restaurants and she chose this one. She made a pretty good choice. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice and classy. We went for dinner, it was dim but pretty well lit. It had all kinds of different photos hanging up on the wall with some nice mellow music playing in the background. Our server was a young gentleman, took his time explaining the menu and what he recommends. So we ordered the Rosa pasta with chicken and also ordered the lasagna with spicy Italian sausage. I also wish the Italian sausage was dispersed and chopped up more, seemed liked we almost got big chunks of it throughout the lasagna. I would say the food was pretty good, it was not the best Italian food and I can't say it's the most authentic one that I've ever had. I only wish the Rosa pasta had more creaminess to it or more sauce to it. But it was very good, especially if you live in the area I can see it being a popular spot to go out and eat with friends or to go on a date night. We only had to wait about 20-30 minutes on a Friday night which wasn't too bad. Our meal also camped with house salad, the house salad was very good and fresh. This place had been bookmarked for a long time and we had the pleasure of finally dining here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and so we were seated quickly. The restaurant quickly filled up with diners even on a Wednesday evening. We loved everything we ordered which included two appetizers, soup, and two pasta dishes. It was more than enough food but we wanted to try so many items. The complimentary bread came out nice and warm. The calamari was perfectly cooked but a tad too salty and I like salty food. The leftovers were great/perfect over some steamed jasmine rice though. The Bruschetta was so freaking good and the Italian Wedding Soup was very yummy. I preferred the very delicious Rosa sauce over the Pasta Gianni. The Pasta Gianni is pretty spicy but still delicious. Went here after my niece's college graduation. Be warned they don't take reservations but if you call same day for a bigger group they will try to accommodate. We were lucky to get a table for 10 pretty quickly s we called ahead. First thing you notice when you walk in is that it's dark and moody. Glass chandeliers hang from the ceiling making you feel like you are walking onto the set of Phantom of the Opera...I loved it! You may need to use your phone to read the menu though. The hostess and wait staff were all very kind and helpful. All were attentive but not overly hovering. We never needed to ask for anything; they anticipated our needs at just the right pace. We ordered a variety of appetizers (mozzarella garlic bread, calamari, and bruschetta) and dishes (pasta bolognese, pasta Rosa, chicken strappato, fettuccine alfredo). I had the pasta bolognese with one meatball. I enjoyed it immensely, but note that the meatballs are a decent size and pretty dense so I am glad I didn't order two. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp fettuccine dish but wished the shrimp had been fresher...said they were probably frozen and a bit rubbery. No complaints from the rest of our party. Stepping in, I noticed the lighting was very dim, illuminated by several warm-colored christmas lights (It was a little hard to read the menu for this reason) They don't take reservations unless the party is over 6 people, but we didn't wait long. After being seated, our server didn't hesitate to let us know about their nightly specials and Thursday's happen to be their cocktail night for anyone interested! They have a long selection of pastas, so I asked for any recommendations. I ended up ordering the Rosa with chicken milanese. After taking our order, they gave us bread and salad that come with every order. The bread had a crispy crust and was really fresh, however the salad was just a little too sour for my liking. The rosa pasta was pretty good! I would say the chicken is just a little on the drier side. The other people in my party liked their orders as well. The portion was big, so I would say the pricing is pretty fair. The total came out to about $135 without tips and that was for 4 pasta entrees, 1 pastaless entree, a calamari appetizer, and a few drinks. They also gave a complimentary spumoni dessert for the birthday celebrant! Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. It was my first time here. My friends wanted to celebrate my birthday at Roman Cucina because they love it! I really enjoyed it here! The food was so delicious! There meatball appetizer was so tasty! We were a party of 6 girls and we all had different items frim the menu. All were so flavorful and fresh! Their customer service was excellent, just like their food.
