On the way to a SF Giants game and was looking for a casual place to grab food before going into the park. The entrance is in an alley that leads to a parking lot, but when you see 25 Lusk, there are signs that show you where to go. There's an elevator that you can take to the rooftop which I believe is just 4 floors up. The space is open and nice, but the awnings/coverings were definitely whipping around in the wind. We were seated right away and was told to order at the counter when we were ready. The drinks came out pretty fast; the food took a little longer. Longer than I expected, but still within an OK time. We got the Calabrian chili chicken wings, which were not the best. I think the texture of the chicken was off putting and the sauce tastes more like a sour buffalo sauce. The short ribs were great. The meat was tender and fell right off the bone. Very generous portions too with some greens and potatoes. The margherita pizza was crispy, which I prefer. We added mushrooms and sausage to it since there were really only 3 types of pizzas. Each topping was an additional $3 though so kind of steep pricing in my opinion. Got a couple of drinks as well - a beer and a Hugo spritz. They were fine, but not super memorable. So, for me, that was maybe 3.5 stars, but I'll round it up to 4 since the guy delivering our food to us was really nice. read more

We stopped in for dinner last night. Nice rooftop seating area. Pretty casual. You are seated with menus and when you're ready you go up to the cashier to order your food/drinks and get a number. We ordered the Pretzel bites, Arugula Salad w/ poached pear and fennel, Braised Short Ribs and the Caramel Brownies to share. Food was tasty. Pretzel bites were big bites and portion was good size. We couldn't finish them. The salad was missing the pears or at least I never tasted any but still a good salad. The braised short rib was very tender but the greens (or I think that's what they were) were charred beyond recognition along with the top layer of beef. Missed the mark there. Also could have used some semi glaze or sauce because of the charred bitter taste. The Caramel brownies were delicious. Our server Omarc was absolutely wonderful and friendly, checking in with us periodically. Unfortunately there was a group that was extremely loud, standing up and moving around the room. But it is a smallish area so don't expect a quiet romantic dinner. More a party place. read more

Nice spot for pregame and not exceptionally busy since it's a little off the main path...I worry as I say it as I don't want it to get too busy. They take reservations or open seating without. Provide H2O at the table, but order food and drinks at the counter and they bring it to your table. The old fashioned was well made, not a craft cocktail, but boozy balanced. My old fashioned drinking peeps know what I'm talking about. They have their own version of margarita pizza and wing, but we enjoyed them. Not traditional, but tasty. Decent prices for the city. Cool upstairs spot that is apart of another restaurant on the lower half called 25 Lusk. We walked here right after the Giants game since the park isn't too far from here (within walking distance), and it seems like a popular spot for after games/events since the restaurant got packed shortly after. You order at the kiosk/front and then pick your table. I would suggest making a reservation just in case as there was a line that started to form. The pizzas were amazing! And Alexis was an absolute sweetheart, she's the best!! Her friendly aura made our experience that much better. It's an underrated rooftop! The menu is not huge, and not really high enough for a view but it has lots of space, easy to get a table for a large group and the service is friendly. We've hosted work events here, and the catering menu is extensive and good value. It's great for a sunny lunch time spot and they have a moving shade roof in case you want more shade. I just wish they were open more during the week for lunch! read more

We came for some bites and drinks before a Warriors game and it was a great experience. The rooftop is spacious with lots of seating for couples and groups. It was fairly quiet when we were there on a Saturday evening. We ordered the Yacht Club vodka cocktail and a spicy margarita and both were very delicious. For food we ordered pretzel bites, garlic knots, and chips and guac. The pretzel bites came with a delicious beer cheese sauce. And the garlic knots were baked to perfection. Wanted to grab a quick bite before the Giants game and we were struggling to find places that were close but not too crowded. That's when we happened upon Rooftop 25 and were able to grab some food and drinks. The rooftop atmosphere is always a fun environment to be in. The views weren't stunning but it was still fun to look around. You order at the counter so it was nice and efficient for our group which wanted to get in and out quickly. The food came out piping hot which was nice and it was pretty good. The wings definitely weren't what I was expecting as they were full on chicken thighs but after looking at menu a little harder that's exactly what they said they'd be. In my previous review on another rooftop bar, I mentioned that last minute reservations are hard to come by. Rooftop 25 takes Yelp reservations, so that's a plus. First impression: Dead end street; parking lots all around us, no elevator access (you have to call some number if you have mobility issues and need to use the elevator), it's not a tall building so there's not much to see except other nearby buildings and parking lots. Once you get up to the bar area, it's pretty casual. Counter ordering first and then you get your food/drinks. They have heaters but I don't think ours was working because we kept our jackets on. My friend and I ordered the Spicy Passionfruit Margarita and the Yacht Club. Both delicious in their own way and good strong drinks. We shared the cheese pizza (+arugula) and it was delicious, the dough slightly chewy and charred and just right amount of yummy sauce. Two unisex bathrooms. Clientele: mostly groups of friends hanging out, and/or work buddies hanging out. I'm rating this as 3 - 3.5 stars. Food/drinks are solid but for our girly get-together catch up day, it's lacking the type of lux rooftop ambiance we were looking for. When we popped by it was an off time on the weekend (like 3pm'ish) so it wasn't super busy and there was no wait. Food was pretty standard -- I actually surprisingly enjoyed the BAVARIAN STYLE PRETZEL BITES ($9), which were warm and moist and came with mustard and a very decadent cheese fondue. The POACHED MAIN LOBSTER GUACAMOLE ($19) came with a good amount of lobster that felt worth it over the regular guac we also ordered, while the FROMAGE BLANC PIZZA ($21) with peas, cauliflower, bacon, and chili oil was just ok. It was just average. You have to go to the counter to order and on a slow regular night like this where I see the cashiers just standing there- they can go serve the tables and ask. I came with a huge group for a birthday and the staff was extremely accommodating and super nice. Big thanks for dealing with us! Cocktails were yummy; I ordered both the SF Yacht Club and a Strawberry Rosé. I really liked the SF Yacht Club and it looked like the Spicy Passionfruit Margs were really popular for our table. Most of the apps were just ok to me, (re: pretzel bites, yellowtail crudo, curry hummus) but the steak tartare was soo good. Our side also got a margherita pizza with prosciutto and that was yummy. Food did take a while to come out, but it was probably a bit chaotic on our end as well to figure out who ordered what. Overall, seems like a nice place to come for celebrations or larger parties. There were a few other groups that looked like they were celebrating special events as well. We also didn't stay for sunset, so we might've missed out on a better view.
