Right in the heart of town along the main strip of downtown. Perfect for people watching while dining on the patio. Be advised, it does get hot but they do have both the main covered patio and street covered patio. Both with mister working the whole time. If you prefer ac, they have indoor dining as well. We like to enjoy the sun and people watching which patio is alway a good option for us. Of course we make friends with the waiter as they alway take care of us. Everyone here from the staff, waiter and waitress, and the owners are all very sweet and friendly. Menu is alway great. You have both the breakfast and brunch menu. We tend to come for them mainly but have never tried dinner here. Of course the bubbly is always a good start. A bottle with three juice options and fresh fruit for adornment. Strawberries and blueberries for the bougie bubbly effect. And for the price, it's worth it. Food wise, we went with the chicken sandwich with salad and the burger with fruit. A side of fries is definitely a must even if it comes with it. Portion for the sandwich was massive. Nice thick piece of grilled and marinaded chicken breast filled with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and avocados on toasted bread. It's massive even when they sliced it in halves. And the burger, two nice patties with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion and bacon. A classic and it was delicious. I'm not a burger person but every now and then a bite is worth it. The food has alway been excellent. Crowd is alway nice and bubbly. It's cute chit chatting with the other guest nearby. Also we found out that they close for about two months in July and August as that's their holiday time. Glad we made it before it happened. We had the strangest experience here. We were in town for a friends 40th and we had seen great reviews about The Thirsty Palms. We walked up, no reservation. The lady at the door told us inside would probably be loud because there were two bigger tables in there. It was hot outside, so we decided to sit inside anyway. We almost immediately regretted that and wished we'd sat outside. This place is not made for being busy on the inside. It's just too loud. But, cute in there. Our server, who we later learned was the bartender and not a usual server, took our drink orders. A few of us ordered the Hugo spritz, one gal got a beer, and a few other cocktails were ordered. We got our drinks and they were enjoyable. The problem began when we were ordering food. One girl in our group is Celiac and literally can not eat gluten. She ordered the salmon and asked to be sure the potato salad was gluten free. If things are fried or prepared in the same place as gluten objects, she is incredibly ill for weeks afterwards. She has to be super careful. His response was, "I think so." She told him she was celiac and had a true gluten allergy, and she needed him to be sure. Meanwhile, the menu boasts about how they proudly serve gluten free options right on the bottom. He then said, "yeah, I'm pretty sure it is." He genuinely did not seem concerned. She ended up ordering it but felt uncomfortable about whether or not it was really safe for her. Another girl at the end of the table asked him to please double check, as it was really a serious allergy. He said, "Yeah I am going to ask the chef. I wasn't going to just ignore it and make all you girls mad." He had the snarkiest tone when he said it, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude. That right there gave us a bad taste in our mouths. He came back out and said he checked with the chef, and it was indeed gluten free. Food came out and all tasted good. But when a restaurant prides itself on gluten free options, and then makes it so hard to order, it's not a good look. We wouldn't be back. read more

Over time I've had their pizza, lamb chops, and pasta, each one excellent, but today's surf and turf might have been my favorite yet. Everything is cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and served with genuine care. What really makes this place stand out is the service. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and create a relaxed casual environment that still feels special. They know the menu inside and out, which really helps my wife, who is vegan, find great options without feeling limited. Cute little restaurant located, right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs. The inside can get a little noisy, the outside is great for people watching. They had misters going, so it definitely wasn't too hot outside. My party of four had two different kind of schnitzels, and two different kinds of pizzas. All enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately, service was very slow. It took 25 minutes to get our drinks. The food came out rather quickly, but our waitress did not check on us once until we called for the check. It was a very busy Thursday night, with the street fair going on, and it looked like they had only two servers for both inside and outside. I walk up to the owner and mention we are the ones that called and he said ok someone will be with you soon. I mention we're low on time and he says don't worry. Waited 10 more minutes. Finally we are aknowledged by Michael. Place our order. The owner said our food would be expedited but when we asked our server Michael he said he cannot do that. The 3 big groups that came in right before we did all had orders in. They said our food would take about 30 mins to prepare - mind you we've stressed left and right that we do not have a lot of time as we have a work meeting to attend to. We were seated quickly, waters and menus came right away, and since it was brunch, we opted for a couple of mimosas. After reading about the restaurant's Swiss culinary background, I was genuinely expecting a more elevated and thoughtfully executed meal. I ordered the Thirsty Breakfast with bacon. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it felt uninspired. The bacon was nicely cooked--crispy and well done--but the rest fell short. The scrambled eggs were standard, and while the hash browns looked crispy on the outside, they were soggy once cut into. They were also heavily seasoned with a spice blend that leaned noticeably spicy. I couldn't quite place the flavors, but I do wish this had been noted on the menu or that the server had offered a choice between seasoned or unseasoned, as it wasn't what I was expecting. One additional moment that caught me off guard was noticing Fox News playing on the TV as we were leaving. This made me pause and reflect on the atmosphere the restaurant is trying to create. Not to turn this into a political discussion, but it felt out of place in a setting that otherwise seemed designed to be an escape--somewhere to relax and disconnect from the constant news cycle. Fresh!!! Stopped in at 10:30 on Monday and was seated and served right away. The owner (I think) was outside and he was super kind. My server was also quick and checked on me without being too much. He was really cool. It's super pretty inside, but I sat outside with the misters to people watch. I ordered the Caprese Avocado Toast with a side of hash browns and WOW!! Everything was super fresh. The toast was not soggy and it comes with a side salad, so anything that falls off the toast can still be easily eaten. I work outside and it's hard to find a meal that gives me more energy than drains me, but this is one of the best mid-day meals I've had. The hash browns were also super flavorful. I am not one to leave an unkind review. It's not in my nature but I'm feeling so incredibly unseen and hurt tonight that I have to leave an honest review. I wanted to meet a friend before seeing a show at The Plaza. I arrived with no reservation and was turned away. I offered to sit at the bar, it was just two of us and I was told no. I stood at the front to text my friend as an older couple arrived to ask to be seated. They were asked if they had reservations by a younger man/employee and they said no. The older gentleman who turned me away pulled the younger employee aside and they had a hushed talk. The younger man walked away and said you deal with it. The older gentleman escorted the older couple to the bar seats I had pointed to earlier. I said to him, I offered to sit at the bar and you told me there were no seats. He said yes that's what I said. I moved a little further out to communicate with my friend again via text and watched as he sat another couple outside under the awning on the patio. Again, this was never offered to me even as I stood in the rain, waiting for my friend in clear view. I'm so deeply hurt by this experience and will do my best to not let it interfere with the wonderful evening we have planned. This is a small town. I'm local and I love to support local. This was a very unfortunate experience. I should add...I asked my friend when he arrived to go ask if he could be seated (without a reservation) and he in fact was offered patio seating immediately. We were in town for an event, we came in a group of 7. Such a cute place right off 111 in charming down town Palm Springs where all the action is. The staff was so friendly and the inside is super cute too. The food was good we got breakfast (pancake, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit). My sister got the salad, the other sister got chicken and french fries. One of us got a burger. The other one of our group got a chicken sandwich and the grilled cheese sandwich. Everything was delicious and fresh. Our waiter was really cute and the owners seemed really nice too. I think they were there. We sat outside and the weather was spectacular. I explained to our waiter and to the owners that we were in town for an event for our Daughter and that she won her championship and they were so kind that they comped her food to celebrate her. This wasn't expected, but it was so appreciated. It's rare people do things like this, we were very grateful and taken off guard. It was a really positive experience. As we were figuring out how to spend our time waiting for the Thursday market to get up and running, the owner, Urs called us in as we passed by. He was welcoming, not pushy, and I think it speaks volumes to the sincerity and quality of the experience of the establishment. We're here for the weekend in Palm Springs, and today we ate a very heavy lunch. So, we were looking for a lighter dinner around 8 this evening and THE THIRSTY PALMS showed up in a list of suggested places. Schnitzel and a salad? Sounds good. Well, it ended up being very good indeed - the schnitzel (pork for me, chicken for her) was just outstanding, crisp, hot and light, with a real European flair to the breading and the sauces (Urs Wyler, the owner and chef, is Swiss). Our server was kind and attentive and also mixed my wife's cocktail, which she loved. We were well looked after. We sat outside, and enjoyed the passing parade of Palm Springs locals and tourists. Cute place! I had this on my list to try first when I landed. Arrived around 1145 and was super excited to try the chicken schnitzel as I was eyeing it for months. The website is misleading as it shows it's available on the lunch and dinner menu. I was given a breakfast/brunch menu at 1145. I would assume this would be a lunch menu since it's lunch time. I asked my server for a lunch menu and he said there isn't one, you can't get the schnitzel till dinner. I was so disappointed, I actually almost decided to go somewhere else. I decided just to get the blt since I was starving from traveling. It was good, nothing exceptional. Not sure next time I'll be back to try what I really came for. I have to give credit to this restaurant being one of few "kid friendly" restaurants in the downtown Palm Springs area. I know, I should be thankful there was even one place that served food for kids on the strip, but really I just wanted a place I could feed them simple comfort food. Lucky for us, this restaurant had comfort food with a delicious twist! The pizza was delicious. It tasted very homemade and super fresh. The chicken shnitzel was incredible and my girls loved them! A friend wanted to come to Thirsty Palms for his birthday with intention of trying the schnitzel. He and I have had a lot of schnitzel over the years and the schnitzel at Thirsty Palms is good. Pork Schnitzel French Style: 4 stars Breaded pork loin served over a dijon sauce and german potato salad. The potato salad needs work, but the schnitzel was good - slightly tough but still good. The pickled onions added a burst of flavor and did help the palate cut through the yummy fried coating. I only wish they served a wedge of lemon with this dish for traditional sake. If I come here again I'd opt for the fries. Service is great, decor is fun. Grab a seat on the patio and people watch. read more

The Thirsty Palms was our last meal in Palm Springs and it was pretty good! We were seated right away on a Monday afternoon, in their little outdoor dining area by the street. I didn't see much of the interior, but the decor looked cute in there. For drinks, I got an Arnold Palmer, which was tasty and refreshing. For food, I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and a side of French Fries. The Chicken Caesar Salad was fresh and crunchy, and really hit the spot. I liked the fries too, although I usually prefer skinnier french fries - but their texture was very good! My friends weren't in love with the "The Everything" Avocado Toast or the B.L.A.T. Sandwich, but my other friends really liked their Shakshuka. The menu surprisingly featured three varieties of Shakshuka and both the Classic and White were very tasty.
