We had the best time working with Chloe at Rooted Dog Training. Chloe is extremely knowledgeable about all things training related, but the best part was that Chloe really respected our comfort level, and consistently met us where we were. She never expected us to follow a rigid timeline, but instead worked with us to develop confidence and to learn why she prefers certain training methods. I cannot say enough about the training Chloe provides! She provided me with the tools and the understanding to train an obstinate 6-year-old pound puppy. My dog was very reactive but through the course, I learned how to create structure in my home and outside to help him become more balanced. I no longer have a lunging, barking, nipping issue- and that is huge. The results were apparent after our very first lesson. Chloe worked wonders! We have a goldendoodle named Muncie. She first went to a puppy school class that had a focus for positive reinforcement. Muncie's issues were not resolved with these methods. Chloe used an e-collar to train Muncie during her 3 week board and train and she is a new dog. Muncie had bad separation anxiety and overall a resistance to listening to our commands. With Chloe's help, Muncie can now stay in place when I leave (especially in public places) and listens to my commands like heel, place, and dropping whatever's in her mouth when I tell her (lifesaving command). Once the dog comes home the owner will need to keep up with the commands and training as I did see Muncie trying to push her limits lol. If you have a problem dog , there is no better place to help than Rooted Dog Training. We got Jake as a rescue at eight weeks old. By the time he was a year old he had destroyed thousands of dollars worth of furniture and wood work around our home. He had terrible separation anxiety and would go on a tear every time we left the house that only ended when we got back home. We are by no means new dog owners but nothing we had in our bag of tricks was helping Jake. We didn't believe in using crates or e collars thinking they were cruel but with Chloe's help we came to understand that they were in fact beneficial to the dog's well being. Jake is actually at his most calm and content when he is in his crate and goes into it willingly with excitement. The E collar is just a tool to remind him when he occasionally forgets that he is supposed to listen. We did the three week board and train and were able to watch Jake's progress on Chloe's daily posts on Instagram. Jake is a changed dog. It is difficult to write this review because I don't know where to begin. Chloe is great. She is very patient, caring, but most importantly, not afraid to give a little tough love when needed (for both the owner(s) and dog). One of the biggest things I've taken away from the program is becoming that leader our dog(s) need and the importance of accountability. If you're looking to do the hard work and put in the effort to make lifestyle changes and reap the benefits, I highly recommend Chloe. Thank you so much Chloe and team for helping me with my pup Dune! If you have a dog with behavioral issues (non aggressive), Rooted is the place for you. I was struggling with explosive leash reactivity, jumping, and overall bad manners with my 1 year old Mini Aussie. After sending Dune to a 3 week board and train program and reading up on the materials that Rooted gave me, I realized that what my dog was actually suffering from was severe separation anxiety (made worse because I was unknowingly encouraging it), and that many of his problem areas could be fixed by tackling the SA head one with structure and accountability. Chloe really equipped me with the knowledge and the confidence to lead Dune, and I now utilize the crate, place command, structured heeled walks, and an e-collar on the daily and Dune's behavior has made a 180. He is by no means a perfect dog, but we're getting better everyday. His walks are no longer stressful for me but instead enjoyable, and I know how to combat his triggers and trouble spots at home and outside. I also have a dog that respects me more and is learning more everyday to be okay with being away from me, and it's been a blessing for our relationship and a huge relief for me as an owner. I can't recommend Chloe enough! Where do I begin? I'll start with Stella, our 4.5 year old beagle mix , whom we've had for about 1.5 years. Over the course of the move, poor Stella didn't eat for days and we realized that without her meds- she was actually the same. And in our new house she seemed somehow more connected to us. After over a year with our rescue, Nala, we had been struggling with her behavior. She had previously spent 3 years in an environment with little attention and structure. Chloe was quick to respond to my wife's questions via a one hour phone session. After we quickly enrolled Nala in private training courses. We appreciated that Chloe requested our dog's recent vaccine records. Every Thursday we met with Chloe for an hour and a half. The training program was very robust and learned and implemented various commands. During the sessions with Chloe, she demonstrates what our dog is supposed to do and how we should expect her (our dog) to react. She also teaches you and encourages you to go home and practice between session. If you expect your dog to learn, you and your dog must practice! Expect to implement tools like different leashes, collars--including prong and electric. My wife was hesitant to use the prong and electric collars, but she quickly learned these collars are tools that significantly help in the training process. After several weeks of 1:1 training, our Nala is doing very well. She's much easier to manage when going on walks and when at home. It was one of the best decisions to take our dogs to Rooted Dog Training. We have a 2 year old Maltipoo that became very reactive at people and dogs, and it made us nervous to take him to places. Even after taking him to another dog training program. We also have a Goldendoodle puppy who has high energy and little impulse control. It was so beneficial to take both dogs to RDT! Before the training, it was a nightmare to take both dogs on a walk. Now, we're able to easily take the dogs on walks and even get compliments from neighbors. I recently completed the puppy training with Chloe and I couldn't be happier. I took my Bernedoodle, Penelope, to Chloe 3 days after I got her to help ensure that I started the positive and correct training.
