When I called back to say no one had come I was put on hold, and the reps seemed unsurprised and indifferent. In the end, I waited 7 hours and felt I'd been misled simply to get the gig; with more information, I'd have shopped around and found someone who could keep their word. But at least the guy who did the work was responsible and professional. There is that.

He even connected us with a water restoration company, who was able to come out the same day to address the water damage. While…read morethe cause of my leak seems to be resolved (at least for now) it did bother me that I took the time to ask several times with the dispatcher "Taneea"(sp) and she said there was no fee to diagnose and I kept asking are you sure because in order to see where the leak is coming from my bathroom upstairs from the shower and where it settling we need to look at the pipes underneath where the drywall is and that involves cutting the ceiling drywall. And I asked her again several times if there's any charge for leak tracing or anything she was leaving out just to look and see before repairing and she said no, there's no diagnostic charge. They get here and tell me it's gonna be $125 just to cut the drywall and I just don't understand how there can be such a disparity between what I verified by phone and what I was being told now. And even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the dispatcher was mistaken (though that's something very strange for a dispatcher who works for and represents a company to say, if not true) the fact that she did tell me that clearly, you would think to keep a customer they would stand by their own word, so not a great first impression. I still paid them $455 to change the cartridge in my shower, but they would not take five or ten minutes to cut up two 6"x6" holes in the drywall and look inside to see if there's any other extensive damage or leaking. I may just leave it for now and keep an eye for any signs of staining or moisture rather than deal with drywall repair. I still will inspect around the electrical where the ceiling fan canopy is and remove it from the ceiling to see if there's any water damage to the fan and light fixture or if it can be salvaged and still works once all is dry and I can restore power to the room. But they refused to look for any signs below to ensure there were no other signs of a leak unless I paid more. Another thing is with a large hole behind the shower faucet escutcheon where the leak occurred what's to keep another cartridge from failing and leaking right down into the room below and getting into the electrical and drywall and ruining another ceiling fan? I wish they'd have taken the time to tell me how to seal off that wall behind the faucet handle or given me suggestions but they just kind of did their job and left. They didn't offer me any advice or tips to prevent this again or set my mind at ease, and taking the time to do that would have made me feel more "taken care of" and built a rapport as a new customer. They just wanted to do the job I asked and go. So while I have no other complaints so far, they didn't go the extra mile or make me feel reassured at all for such a serious issue. It was just a "job" to cross of their list and not spend a second longer than necessary to show, discuss or reassure.

We ultimately paid way too much for a basic 50 gallon hot water heater swap (bundled price of almost $3000). I was out of town and my wife was busy with work when this happened. We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Would love to see a customer advocacy/awareness story on one of the local news affiliates about how private equity has consolidated so many previously locally owned trade businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical). This might be a good starting point for that type of story.

I came in looking for thrift (drain cleaner), the moment I walked through the door not even a welcome in, and then the old African American man and this older Caucasian woman treated me like I was an idiot. Just pointing instead of helping the other lady just laughing as the man disrespected me. Now I've worked in retail myself. But to be this condescending to your customers is no bloody wonder why this place is bombarded with terrible reviews. Besides the terrible service there isn't anything there worth buying not mentioning the ridiculous prices. Take my word for it, you have more luck buying off Amazon than this depressing store. P.S there is a Home Depot down the road and they treated me way better.

I would strongly suggest getting a second bid before using this company! I was lied to and told worst case scenarios if I did not take their advice. I called them to clean out a sewer drain on 10/24/22. They came out and charge me $529 to snake the drain. I thought this was higher than the rate that I had seen on ads but it was convenient and we had a mess. Less than 30 days later, we had the same problem and called them back. They convinced me to hydroflush the system at a fee of $2289 as the snake they had would not go out far enough to get the clog. They also verbally said this fee would come with a one year warranty if the sewer got clogged again. This was not written in their 6 page contract. On 12/28/22, the system backed up again and I called them assuming they would clean it out again for free. No such thing, they denied the last cleaning was warrantied. We again had a big mess in our non-profit thrift store and we paid another $2000 to clear it out again! They came out a few days later with 4-5 technicians to put a camera in the line to see what the problem was. It was clogged again and I had spent close to $6K! They told me we needed to have the sewer pipe replaced at a cost of $60K. I contacted the landlord who had another plumbing company come out and look at the sewer line. The new company said they were going to need to hydroflush the line for a cost of $500 and run the camera through it. They cleared the line and showed me that in fact the line did not need to be replaced. While one half of the sewer pipe under the concrete is old cast iron, it was not broken as suggested. The other half that was under the asphalt in the parking lot was a newer blue plastic type and not under water as I was told. That pipe was in very good condition and did not need replacing. I found that they have a discipline case that they were suspended in 3/31/2022. Do not trust this company!!! read more

Called and rep was on time. Before even looking at the drain needing attention, the rep spent 10 minutes fast talking warranty plans, possible costs, etc. etc. There had been a backslash when the washer drained. This occurred 2 times and didn't reoccur but I gave them a call to be safe. The rep spent 20 minutes with the snake. He was able to get about 20 feet of the snake and he hit a block (according to him). He stayed that there were roots pr possibly a collapsed pipe. I was getting the strangest feeling that he was not going down the main line but had actually gone towards the house. He then spent another 10-15 minutes explaining a camera was necessary or possible snaking from the roof, more talk on the warranty service plan, financing for a job of doing the main line. He was like a sleazy car lot salesperson. The cost was about $79 and it would be an additional $310 to snake from the roof. He was making me sick but I told him to get up there and do it. He went up on the roof, snaked it and came back down in 11 minutes. This guy didn't ever work the snake and never broke a sweat. He was done at that point....I was so revolted and disgusted with his performance billing attitude. I did tell him that his way of customer service was a major turn off and I wanted him off my property. I asked for his card and it also had a number on the back of the "owner" so anyone could call and let him know of their concerns. I called and of course no response. THIS OUTFIT IS A RIPOFF!!!!!! The drain never backed up again since the washer did it. I did call the local neighborhood handyman. He showed up and snaked it 50 feet. He also stated that the guy went in the wrong drain and went towards the house. He charged $75 and its all done. A $339 RIPOFF. read more

Our main line backed up on 12/8/16, I called for service and "Jose" came out to clear the stoppage.I informed Jose that I had a coupon that stated Rooter Hero would clear any drain line for $77.00. Jose informed me that the $77.00 covered 30 minutes and lets hope it only takes 30 minutes. Jose ran his 11/16 cable through the clean out in the front yard. Jose did not put any blade on the cable to clear the line. The line cleared and we ran water. Jose presented the bill to me, it was for $150.00. I was shocked, Jose informed me that it took 45 minutes, that was why the charge was for $150.00. I paid the bill and was given a 90 day guarantee. On 12/12/16 the main line backed up again. I called and requested the line be ran again. I requested them not to send out Jose. "Adrian" came out to the house to clear the drain. He pulled out a much smaller machine with a 3/8 cable with no blades to clear the 3 inch main line through the clean out. My wife asked Adrian why he did not use blades on the cable. Adrian told her that they never put blades on the cable to clear stoppages. Much to my surprise Adrian was able to open the line with the 3/8 cable. However the very next day the main line backed up for the 3rd time. I was not about to call for a repeat performance so I rented a 11/16 cable from Home Depot with blades to clear the stoppage. I was able to clear the main line with the full set of blades. I would not recommend Rooter Hero to anyone!!! read more

I purchased a home in Sun City, my plumbing had a backup. I called Rooter Hero to snake the line. I asked if the can send a camera down the line at which they performed at no charge. Although the results came back with the old cast iron piping being completely shot. On the monitor you can see the cast iron had rotted out almost the entire length of the pipe to the street. It was just terrible news and very pricy, so i got several bids for a full pipe replacement procedure called "Pipe Bursting", where they bore through the excisting piping with a new ABS pipe, pulling it through hydraulically. Rooter Hero gave me the best bid out of several of the valleys top compeditors. Being that over 25 years ago I had 5 contractors licenses, one being plumbing, I can tell you they did an excellent job in a professional manner. I would recommend Rooter Hero without reservations, they were a hard working crew, Rocky the Supervisor was very knowledgeable, along with Adam, Chris and a couple others were excellent plumbers. I called Rooter Hero on a Saturday morning because of a slow drain. I had called another company prior to calling them. The other company wanted to charge me 20k to replace my entire drain pipes under my house so I wanted a second opinion. After calling Rooter Hero, Alex M a very polite and professional young man came and diagnosed my plumbing. He said that I needed to get mi drain pipes cleaned in order to get a better view with his camera. So i accepted his quote and had him clean my drain pipes as he had said that I would not lose my investment if my plumbing needed to get replaced. After running a big power washer through my drain pipes, he showed me on camera that all of my drain pipe did not need to get replaced, It was mostly build up on my pipes. I did end up replacing my kitchen drain though because of a break that I was able to see on camera. He helped me put a claim through my insurance and I had most the work covered. I had a plugged up shower an called Rooter Hero and Soro came out an did a great job at getting it fixed. While he was here he also looked at my trash compactor and a few other small items in my kitchen and fixed them also for a low price. I'd have them and Soro back out to my house anytime for quick fixes. Incidently, I did try to fix it myself and did more damage then good. Soro was able to figure out what i did wrong and fix it with no problems. I won't be trying to fix anything again soon, not when I can just call these guys. I also had a tech named Loui who did a camera down my main line to see if it was clogged and it was of course and he handled that. SO between the 2 techs that came to my house on consecutive days, Soro and Loui did a great job getting me back on track and my lines are now unclogged an working great. Had to replace my fixtures due to a small problem with a cleaning company. Their insurance company was out of state and all they would do is write a check for repairs and dumped the rest on me. I am glad after 3 hours of trying to find someone to come and do a free estimate I finally found Bobby at Rooter Hero. He came out and did an estimate. I was going to select my own fixtures but after 3 more hours of looking on my own I couldn't find anything comparable to what I had previously had. I have little energy due to an illness and at that point was about to give up on it all. Bobby said he would find the fixture for me and send a picture so I could see it and approve it. I called Rooter Hero when no one else would come out for a water leak in my ceiling on Labor Day. The manager called and said when someone would be here to check things out. We weren't sure if it was a leaky pipe or the a/c condensation tube backed up. He got here early and took one look at the sagging ceiling and suggested we should also call a damage remediation service to come with dehumudifiers and to eventually fix the ceiling and replace insulation. He also called his a/c repair person off another job to come and fix my leaky pipe. Alex came and repaired my pipe which had a hole in it very quickly. The charge was just $175 for a holiday. The remediation crew came out and got that part moving and helped me file my insurance claim. I'm very impressed with the help I received from this company and will use them again. read more

On 8/24/2023 we had an emergency at our residence. Alfredo Ramírez was our Rooter Hero our toilet and tub were stopped up and backing up in the showers (ewwww) The company came out within 30-45 min as promised. Mr. Ramírez was very attentive, he listened to what our issues were and gave great advice. Alfredo did everything possible to resolve our issue, he was super considerate, well knowledgeable and completely honest what we need to have done moving forward to fix our issues for a long lasting fix. This past Saturday morning (Labor Day weekend) I had a major stoppage in both the kitchen and bathroom sinks, both of which were filled with water and would not drain. I called Rooter Hero, who I have used before with excellent service. They advertise $77 to unclog drains, and I thought this was a good price. They promised to call me back within 30 minutes, which they did, and said their technician would be there within an hour, which he was. I was so fortunate to have Joey Margazie assigned to the job. He worked with a vengeance to clear this massive blockage, battling for an hour till he was finally able to clear it out...all for $77!! He worked on this as if it was his own home. We never had a technician like Joey Margazie, and next time we have a blocked drain, we will definitely call Rooter Hero and ask for Joey!! read more

I had an emergency plumbing problem and turned to the phone book. That's correct, the hard copy phone book. I came across Rooter Hero Plumbing's ad. The ad read, "no extra charge for after service hours". It was the first company I called AND I AM VERY GLAD THAT I DID SO. The dispatcher took down all my information and later called me back with an estimated time of arrival for the service technician. Ray B., the technician, I thought was very professional and thorough. I thought the rate was a little on the high side, but, when you consider Rooter Hero's rapid response, no extra charge for after hours work and their warranty, I feel I chose the right company. I want to take the time to express my gratitude to the Rooter Hero Plumbing Phoenix Office and in particular to Chris the Mgr for the professional way that we were handled. During the last rain it had washed away the packing of dirt that went under the house, the original contract was done in Nov, 2017. Chris responded to our complaint on 8-30-18 and it was repaired the next day, plus the patch in the driveway was not done properly by an outside contractor and he also had this repaired and completed the next day. The original work was extensive that took almost a week to complete, we are totally satisfied with the work that was done by the very courteous and professional people from this office and would recommend these people to do the work for you with no reservations. read more

Had an emergency clogged kitchen drain that required a power auger. Called Rooter hero at 11:00 PM the night before Thanksgiving. I was told I would I receive a call from the dispatcher before 7:30 AM on Thanksgiving Day and a technician would be out by 9:00 AM. Being a holiday I was a little sceptical. I was very pleasantly suprised when the phone rang right at 7:30 AM and was told a technician would be out between 8:00 AM 8:30 AM. The techincian arrive around 8:15 AM, his name is Ryan Lewis. Ryan was a master at determing the problem and how to fix it. He was very professional, cleaned up afetr himself and without asking put the show covers on his shoes. I had a water heater that bursted and flooded the garage and underneath the pedestal structure of the house. Got an insurance claim and had everything dried out and pedestal structure reconstructed. Rooter hero did the removal and install of new heater, it was professionally done and very good job to Bobby, appreciate it. Insurance company had asked me to hold onto the old broken heater for a while but in a few days was adviced i can dump it already. I just had city do bulk trash pickup for me before this so i was told they would be able to pick up for me in 6 weeks else, i had to pay a fee. I was having drainage issues throughout the house. The first plumber came and was unable to correct the problem. I called Rooter Hero and they had someone to my home in 90 minutes. They were able to diagnose the issue and explained, in detail, my options. I chose to have my sewer line replaced to permanently correct the problem. The team arrived early in the morning and began work. Unforeseen problems arose that had to be dealt with. The quoted price did not change. The team worked 12 hour days for 3 straight days and were very accommodating and considerate of my inconvenience. The team left my home and backyard as if no work had been done. They referred me to a water restoration company who was on my property assessing damage within an hour. Alfredo has also been incredibly responsive with any questions I had after the diagnosis and rapidly provided a repair estimate to the property owner and handled all contact with them. If you're a landlord, property manager, or HOA, these are the guys you want on your team. They offer corporate accounts so billing and scheduling is quick and painless. Their pricing is very competitive, and the service technicians are highly knowledgeable and able to communicate effectively throughout the process, from scheduling to job completion. They fit multiple units of mine onto the schedule the same day I called, and all of my tenants had great things to say about the tech's professionalism and courtesy. This company is Honest, Reliable, and most importantly, they work with you! I called them to get a second estimate on a job that I was told by Roto Rooter that needed to be done, and they didn't charge me another camera fee to come out! Joe and Alex are the best as they didn't just fix the piece like Roto Rooter was going to do, they gave me a NEW ABS pipe so that it wouldn't happen again! My home is old and had an orangeburg pipe which Roto Rooter said was ABS and Rooter Hero replaced it with a NEW ABS pipe and gave me a 20 year warranty! My insurance paid for everything! Me and the wife are " snow birds" lol I know! A lot of these Arizona Companies think were stupid! Honestly the prices here are a lot less inexpensive from where we come from ( Minneapolis) But were not just gonna give our hard earned money to just any old smuck! They have a master plumber working with them, Joe I think? And several other guys who are actually " Licensed" from other states, that meens a lot too us, most other states actually require you to be licensed and go through training , not Arizona this sort of thing put us at ease! The technician, Pat, said they might be able to get part on Saturday and install it. Then he proceeded to try and sell me a new unit, when I declined, the conversation turned and maybe they wouldn't be able to get the part on Saturday.... He sat across from my sister who is on oxygen and myself trying to get us to buy a new unit. He wanted to see my original warranty and kept saying how old my unit was... My sister is terminally ill and is taken care of in our home where her medical supplies are kept. I called Wolfgangs on Saturday morning and was told they would not be getting the part Saturday but on Tuesday, and it would be installed on Wednesday. I told them that my sister was ill and needed to be in her home with her medical supplies. They then said they could get the part on Monday and install Tuesday. We had to leave our home due to it being 95 degrees inside and my sister's illness. I asked to speak to a manager and was told "they all just went into a meeting." I CALLED BULLSHIT. Asked for someone to call me back and never received a call from anyone. This is terrible customer service. I called on Tuesday morning and cancelled my service call and my service agreement with them and not one question was asked, so that tells me they do not want my business. A friend called their air conditioning company and when the tech came out and said they had the part on their truck and fixed the unit. They also charged me $128 service fee which I have a service contract with them and the unit being under warranty should not have been charged. So, they are also thieves.

He inspected the bathroom and said it was a leaking pipe below the toilet. He cut a hole in my ceiling and referred me to a "remediation" service. They showed up in 15 minutes and wanted $1500 to "create access". I'm not sure if the company or the tech was running it, but it's a scam. The problem was a wax ring, which I replaced myself, and the "leaking pipe" was magically fixed! I had not dealt with a leaking toilet upstairs, and since there wasn't any water around the toilet, I didn't think of the wax ring needing to be replaced. If their techs can't recognize, or at least consider, the possibility of a flange that may need attention, I'm not sure you want to call this company. Or, they have expert techs who know how to scam people. I fixed the problem myself for $25, and still have a hole in my ceiling. I now see from the other people that this place seems well aware of what they are doing.

He used a type tape and a connector for water not gas. The wrong pipe connector type was not noticed until maintenance was being done. Bo discussed personal and political issues which isn't professional. He was there to do a job. He left the work area a mess and didn't attempt to clean up. Bo didn't appear to want to work. When he first arrived, he said he was unable to shut the main gas line off. We had to do it. He didn't have any WD-40 or other type of lubricant to complete the job, fortunately we had some available.

They are crooks that will try their hardest to take as much as they can from you. Absolutely horrible, do not use unless you are fine wasting your money.

I called Mark he states it must be a bad valve. I paid 375 for the cartridge and now he says the valve is a 1700 dollar job. I let home know that if the valve was bad he should've seen that earlier when he swapped the cartridge out. I let him know I didn't have confidence in them to properly fix the leak. I called a new plumber out. Mark installed the cartridge wrong, he damaged the seal when he put the new cartridge in. I called the company and they still have not returned my call. I feel robbed now. I paid 375 for their guy to damage the cartridge while he's installing it. Maybe they did that on purpose. They knew I would call them with the leak again. Then to hit me with 1700 to change valve out that takes 10 mins to do is crazy! New cartridge correctly installed was 200 bucks from the guy who fixed Master rooters work.
