These guys are not honest and made me a fool to trust them. A rookie plumber Dominick came in for a slow laundry drain, ran a snake thru a clean out and then insisted on getting camera verification. A senior plumber Dan then came in and showed areas that he interpreted as cracks and broken pipes. Out of urgency, he recommended an epoxy treatment and charged over $21k. He insisted that the work be done asap and scheduled for first thing the next day. When I asked that they delay a few days for me to get other quotes, he insisted that he was pushing the quick schedule due to scheduling limitations. Later that day, I was part of a text string that was between the senior plumber Dan and the rookie plumber Dominick. Dan was encouraging cooperation between them "to get their numbers up." Dan then noticed that I was on the strong and disappeared the texts. When I commented to Dan that I had seen the texts and asked if they worked on commission, both Dan and Dominick insisted that they did not. They arrived first thing the following morning and it only took them 2 hours to complete the job. Wow, it was billed at over $10k an hour. Nice business racket. When I finally got around to shopping the price, it turned out that the going rate for a 2 day job ran between $13k and $16k. Boy was I the sucker. I will never again not bid out a job prior or be pressured by urgency. My trust in people took a nose dive yesterday. Please, don't get suckered by this company! read more

We had the worst experience with this company and would strongly recommend not using them. We had a backup and needed an emergency line clean out on a Sunday morning. After calling, they showed up promptly tried to reset the toilet access to clear the clog. That didn't solve the problem so they ran a camera through our pipes to find roots blocking our main line in several places. They quoted us a pretty high fee to descale our cleanout. It was a Sunday and we were in a bind, so we just went with it. They also ran a camera and told us the main line from our house out to the street was is horrible condition , "about ready to collapse in on itself ". To avoid catastrophe, we really should have them replace the main line while they were already here for about $17k( and that was a deal they were giving us and would only be valid if we agreed to the work within 24 hours). We told them we wanted to think about it didn't agree to the main line replacement. After clearing the original line, they had us run the water from both sides of our house and the line ended up NOT being cleared. Turns out that there was another cleanout on the other side of the house "that must need descaling too". At this point all the toilets, showers, and tubs were full of sewer water. We were now in an even worse situation than before they came. They quoted us another crazy amount to clean out the second side, but offered to do it free as a deal if we agreed to replace the main line. They were extremely pushy but we told them no. They finally ended up clearing the second side (for more than the first side)but gave poor customer service as soon as we insisted that we wouldn't have them replace the main line. I'm embarrassed to say that we fell for them in an emergency and paid a $4k price for not doing our research. Fast forward to today. I had a reputable plumber that I trust( one that was not available on the Sunday of our Rooter Hero emergency) come out and run a camera to check the integrity of our main line. He insisted that the line was not compromised and DID NOT need to be replaced. He also descaled both sides of our cleanouts again( as they had some roots again) for about 1/6 of what Rooter Hero charged. Bottom line: this company did help us, but they charged and astronomical price for a routine job. They were pushy and really tried to pressure us into booking a huge job that was completely unnecessary. If you look the company up on BBB, they have a ton of customer complaints. I know that I am not the only one that got completely ripped off by this company. read more

Absolutely amazing service, highly recommend. I was able to receive same day service to a property I'm looking to purchase. The technician Byron Franco came out and made his assessment and explained in detail the work needed. From the initial call to the service being done took no more than 3 hours, like wow!!! now that's customer service something we don't see anymore. Our upstairs shower was leaking behind the wall, which flooded through the downstairs kitchen ceiling. It was raining! Cristian came to our home, on time. He investigated, found the leak, and took photos of the damage as well as the finished product. He explained what happened (a crack in the pipe solder) and what he would need to do to make the repairs and even completed all the work in the same day. Cristian provided OUTSTANDING customer service and left our bath and kitchen clean and tidy. It wasn't cheap but more than worth the value and quality and hopefully lasts another 20 years. On 08/30/2023 my elderly sick mother who is in wheelchair bond contacted Rooter Hero of Pomona for a backed up kitchen sink in which she called this company that she believed was family own & honest ,she used them for toilet back up & charged a reasonable amount & she thought it was family owned about a year ago, so she called them & they charged $257.00 to come & clear the kitchen drain which would be fine but they didn't clear it & wanted to charge her $3300.00 for a kitchen drain clean out up until she called me her daughter & spoke to Austerberto Maldonado the plumber who stated the charge of $3300 after speaking to his supervisor for the clean out in which I said no such work would be done & for him to send my mother a work order & price they were asking in order clear the back in the kitchen sink. She paid them $257.00 for nothing, they not clear the sink or send her a an estimate for the work they said she needed. I contacted my plumber who went out to my moms & was able to unclog her kitchen sink & gave a estimate of $750.00 put a clean out, I also showed him the receipt that was given that stated he went in 15 to 20 feet which no way plumber said & after reading so many different franchises reviews of the Rooter Hero I realize that these companies are preying on elderly people. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!! I was told my drain could not be cleared and I needed a sewer line replacement. I paid for the service call even though the drain was not cleared. The next company snaked the same drain in less than 4 minutes, removed the clog (less than 3 feet inside the pipe) and charged less than Rooter Hero. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD!! read more

Larry Martinez is by far an outstanding plumber specialist. I had a main water pipe burst, under my home, so I called rooter hero, pomona, and he was to my house within the hour! Had the issue diagnosed and a solution within 15 minutes and repaired within another 30 minutes. Nothing but absolute professionalism, courtesy, honesty, and caring. No charge for coming out and estimating problem, and fees within customary and reasonable. Very polite, and exceptionally experienced. I will call my hero for any future plumbing problems! Tried replacing a Moen #1222 cartridge on my own using the recommended Moen puller. Unfortunately, it ended up breaking the cartridge in half with the other half stuck in the pipe. Frustrated and at wits end, contacted Rooter Hero and they came promptly the following morning. Giovanni was the tech that helped out and was able to not only remove the embedded broken half but also install the new cartridge. A life saver. Highly recommended and reasonably priced. Call in to set up an appointment on Saturday and call center confirmed verbally and by text that is all set up. They even informed that the technician will call Friday or first thing Saturday morning to give me ETA. Waited for half of Saturday morning and still no call, so I called back to call center and they told me that my window is between 2 to 4pm and told me their dispatch will have the technician calling to confirm. Wait until 4pm, but no one called or showed up. Wasted the whole Saturday and will never use them again, better off to go straight to the independent local plumber. read more

Called and appointment setter could not verify any pricing. I have a slow drain. Was told a free estimate would be given, but Jeff the supervisor and his young assistant would not give a written estimate. JEFF stated he was already here I could not get a better deal no he would not give me a written estimate. Jeff stated that he had to climb up on the roof to camera and clean the slow drain. I was told $240.00 to camera scope...most plumbers offer that for free. I told him if the total price was over there $77 drain cleaning and it was going to cost over $195. I would like to get three estimates/quotes first. I also asked why climb on the roof when the four year old plumbing has two clean out points in the front yards. He said he could not find them...WTW? I pointed them out as I asked them to leave. Jeff was told I'm the property manager and I live here, he told me to call my father he could negotiate this man to man. If you cant find the clean out service valves that are required, then how good of a plumber are you??? I'm a woman and I found them. Plumbers may have to climb on the roof when the plumbing is totally clogged, but not for a slow drain. $550. was quoted for a hydro flush out as the new pipes are plastic. Be aware!
