I really really enjoyed my time at this establishment. We went for a Sunday brunch and the experience surpassed my expectations. When I got there , I was surprised how live and lit the hotel lobby was, I really loved that. The energy here is is definitely all the way up, Bx style. The host and hostess were great, I really appreciate their attentiveness and there was so many people and they never forgot about us. They sat us in about 15-20 min. When we went to our seats, I have to note, I was impressed at how clean it was, very impressive. The decor is fire too. Leather tables was a great touch, the bright artwork matches the energy. Our server was Christina, and she was a complete pleasure. So attentive and helpful, just a pleasure. We loved her. The DJ was killing it, he was on point, not one bad song, just a mix of bangers. We had the guava and passion fruit mimosa's. Didn't really taste the fruit but they definitely were good and at first you don't think they are strong but we definitely got tipsy for sure. So the drinks were strong enough. To eat we had the shrimp croquettes, which I really liked, I was so happy with the yuca croquettes, very very tasty. We also had the dumplings. These dumplings were my favorite thing that we ate. They were so damn good. I was very impressed. Then we had the steak and eggs and the siete golpe. My steak was so good , cooked just like I asked and it was a huge steak, which I appreciate. My wife loved her siete golpe. She ate it all and it was a huge portion. She did mention that she wished it had a few slices of avacado instead of guacamole but that was just her preference, she still loved it and said it was delicious. Overall this was a perfect brunch, I really think they deserve a 4 1/2 but I can't give half's here lol. And again the staff was great from the host to the server, we appreciate you guys. I have a love-hate relationship with this establishment so let's get started on this review. I love the location of this restaurant it's inside of a hotel and there's a fairly good parking every time that I have been I've been at night and during the daytime it's tucked away in an area in the Bronx that isn't really heavily impacted with traffic, which is good. The inside decor is cute. There's definitely places that you can take cute photos. The music is also good it's a turnup party vibes kindve place, think brunch but all day. Now to the disappointing part, the actual food. The food was mid to say the least. The service was slow because it was so packed and there was so many people there our waiter took a very long time to get to us, to and to get our orders in, and to get our meals to us. The waitress herself was amazing, polite and apologetic, she did her best, and I gave her 10 out of 10. The food itself 2 out of 10. I wanted to love this place. I was visiting friends in the Bronx who live walking distance from the hotel & decided to come here. What killed this experience was the service, the bartender was just SO incredibly rude and sarcastic. I went with a friend for brunch a few weeks ago; food was ok. We ordered and shared two appetizers and then ordered two entrees. We did bottomless drinks which were also fair in size and good in taste. I understand there is a time limit yes, but it was all in the delivery of the information. Eric was our bartender and we regret to have had our gratuity added automatically, he deserved nothing. I would visit again under different circumstances. Management please work on your staff manners or remove automatic gratuity because this experience was completely rushed. read more

I'm a life time Bronxite so I was happy to see this place spotlight on public access tv show. It is across the street from the old Sin City in the Mott Haven area. It is on the first floor of a hotel that has a parking facility, but street parking was readily available for our 5pm reservations on a Friday in January. As a disabled woman, I was happy to see an elevator and a ramp in front of the facility. Security staff and the young lady who confirmed our reservation was great. I was allowed to sit in the lobby of the hotel to wait for my friend, which was also great. We were seated on time. There's a ramp leading to a second seating area, also great. The hostess gave us menus then stated the menus were old and recently updated. When we chose our food, she pointed out nothing we wanted was available because the menu was updated and our chose options were not available. We were shown a QR code to scan for the new menu but my friend is older and could not access, and there were no updated menus available in print. We decided just to order appetizers and drinks. The food was delicious. My friend ordered three glasses of wine and each glass tasted nothing like how the hostess described. They tasted good, but were not explained properly. Lastly my friend brought in cake from another restaurant to help celebrate my birthday, and the kitchen happily plated and wrapped to go. TheDJ was very loud and made normal conversation almost impossible, but all classic and modern R&B and hip hop so it was cool. Decor was lovely. I enjoyed. read more

If I could leave 1 star I would. They are very rude and don't really accommodate for people. We were 6 minutes late to our reservation due to us being navigated to the wrong spot because we are tourists. We called and told them we were walking down the street and she still proceeded to move our reservation. The lady told us a 30 min wait then a hour then another hour and we still didn't eat here. They are unorganized. They advertise hookah and didn't have it. I just really wouldn't recommend anyone eating here. I walked in and there was a sign that stated "wait to be seated." I waited a while then realized no one was going to seat me, so I headed to the bar because I was waiting on a friend anyway. A man comes up to me asking me if I wanted a shot. I said "no thanks I don't drink" and he replied "what do you do then?" I'm 420 friendly and admitted that. He walked away. Shortly after, he came back to disturb me as I was patiently playing with my phone, waiting for my friend. He wanted to know where I'm from, what I do for a living, and where my workplace is located. I was not comfortable answering all these questions, but I did just to be chill. I also mentioned how I feel interrogated, being that he didn't know my name, yet wanted a quick bio about me. When I told him he was asking too many questions, he was highly bothered. He walked away and commented on how New Yorkers aren't open enough. He was intentionally loud enough for everyone at the bar to hear. My friend arrives - I ask for a table. He goes "Questions closed!! BING BONG F*#% YA LIFE!!" And the bartender goes "obviously he's the owner" It was the owner the entire time. I bruised his ego because I was not willing to be interrogated by him and his friend. It was awkward. I especially did not feel welcome in this establishment and I surely was not going to spend my coins in a place where I felt highly uncomfortable. Today...7/22/2022 as I sit here and reflect on service...Which SUCKS...the employees have a major attitude...drinks are expensive and weak. The Barback/waiter doesn't want to work on removing empty cups from the table, you have to walk your own empty cups to the garbage. The Hookah is $35 dollars and the girl serving it has an attitude. This little gem is tucked away on a back street in the Bronx and is in the back of the wingate hotel, but it is not to be missed. The food here was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were on point. I had a server named briana and she was such a sweetheart. I wanted to try the chicken and waffles but didn't realize it was a brunch only item so she recommended a chicken and rice meal that she said was one of her favorites and it did not disappoint. It was a great recommendation and I extend it as well to anyone reading this, you will not be disappointed. Briana also recommended the margaritas, I asked if they were frozen but they weren't, and again she insisted that I'd really enjoy them anyway, and I certainly did. I also tried two appetizers and even sampled my guests entree of pork chops with mashed yucca and everything I ate was bursting with flavor. 1. Lobby and restaurant is very hot. For this to be in a hotel property, they should have an HVAC system for the lobby. 2. 90 min seating time is overrated. It starts as soon as you sit at the table but it takes 15 mins for them to take your drinks, 15 mins for them to bring your drinks, 15 mins for them to take your order and then 20 mins for them to bring your food order. 3. My friends chair broke and they asked if she was drunk instead of asking if she was okay and needing to the concern. 4. Once our 90 mins was up AND after my friends chair broke, we was asked to give up the table NOW because the 90 mins was up. We deserved at least 15 more mins due to the incident and the length it took to get serviced. 5. The food was half okay. We ordered the Mascarpone French toast and it was NOT cooked all the way through and then the Filet Mignon & Spinach Salad was dry! Filet mignon was cooked medium well but I wasn't asked how I'd like the mignon to be cooked. Just making decisions for the client. SMH Poor hospitality in general! read more

While he had decided to not eat the rest of the food, I felt that the wait to get a table was long, and the time it took to receive our food was even longer. While he complained about having to wait so long to receive couture roach eggs as a meal; his concerns were promptly dismissed and treated with scorn, and while they did not give any discounts as would be standard, they had even tacked on an unnamed $18 "service charge". Charged for asking about the state of my food? Especially after the Rosa's sister 'the manager' had come over to thank us for not making a scene with her "special guest" dining with us. The food portions are good for the price. They offer brunch til 9pm so you have a wide selection from the menu. They clean the tables thoroughly which is nice cause you get a clean table before you sit down. The DJ plays good music , it's loud so it's hard to hear your company but the music keeps you entertained. The space is in a hotel lobby but it's still a nice sized spot. read more

My point is...I was 20 mins late...NYC traffic... After waiting 10 minutes for a hostess...sign says wait to be seated...we went looking for staff...was told I only have an hour to eat. The hostess and manager told us we only had an hour to eat.....rushed us....and reminded us twice that we had to get up at 4pm (we were seated at 3:00pm (after waiting 10 mins) However there was 3 empty tables. 1 table empty of 8 seats the other 2 booths empty. However the table next to us (2 gentlemen) sat before us and left at 5pm. (At this point we are standing at the bar). So they had 2+ hours to eat and drink and on the walked out hugged and chatted with the hostess clearly they knew her. I would of been content with an hour and 15 mins since there was a 15 minute grace period but nope. An hour. As you know you're forced to put your card down so if you cancel you're charged. No coffee for brunch and the only hot Tea they had was Lipton. Menu said 2 crab cakes. 1 crab cake came with the meal. Was told that they take 2 crab cakes and make them into 1. Hmmmm. We waited over an hour for our food and with the 90 minute seat limit, we were rushed after they brought out my cake. Went on a Sunday afternoon around 5ish. I didn't realize the restaurant was in a hotel lobby but it was cool to see. Our servers name was Dallas and she was good. It did take a while before our food arrived but it was worth the wait because everything turned out to be pretty good. I would definitely recommend the wing appetizer and the oxtail dinner. In the downstairs portion of the restaurant the playlist consisted of Afro beats and R&B for the most part. Couldn't finish our drinks at the brunch so we got our drinks to go which is always nice. Once we finished up our brunch, we ended up going to the roof (sidenote: you don't have to go to brunch first to go to the roof and the hookah is only available on the roof). When we got up there, there was a DJ who played a little bit of everything and there was also bar and some picnic tables if you wanted to sit and chill. I understand things get difficult but customers shouldn't have to pay for whatever you're going through personally. The food arrived and more than 5 people's order was incorrect which caused the to send their plates back. The rooftop was supposed to have a dj but all they had was outdated slow music. I'd say the hotel stay for my family and I wasn't bad, my wife and my daughters had a good time for this short business trip. What I will write about is the shameful restaurant in the hotel and how appalled I am that they served my two UNDER AGED daughters alcohol; they are 18 and 19 years old. How does one allow them to sit at the bar with no ID? My wife allowed my daughters to get food from the restaurant in the lobby where they stayed for lunch. When my wife had returned to the girls room she found them intoxicated. They said a short hispanic female gave them access to the bar and a short hispanic male with a tattooed arm who gave them alcohol and free shots as well; very friendly and talkative with my underage daughters apparently. Disgusting. Tell your pedophile bartender to focus less on my underaged daughters and more on checking id before seating people. Had I known this information before returning home I would have addressed the hotel in person. Absolutely disappointing. I will not return and I will continue to look into reporting the restaurant for serving underaged minors. read more
