This was our first time here, and we came with a group of six girls to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was busy, but we only waited about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all. Once seated, service was a little slow. It took some time for our server to come by, and our drinks took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. Since the first round took a while, we went ahead and ordered another round when the rest of our group arrived. Our server seemed very busy, as it often took 15-20 minutes to track her down for drinks or to place orders. That being said, the food more than made up for it! We ordered the queso and the Ribeye Guacamole, and wow--I never would have thought to put steak on top of guacamole, but it was absolutely delicious. For my meal, I had the Trio Enchiladas, which came with two chicken enchiladas and one cheese enchilada topped with poblano cream sauce, chipotle sauce, and adobe sauce. Each one was unique and packed with flavor. The chipotle had a nice kick, and all three were excellent. It's hard to find truly authentic Mexican food, but this place definitely delivers authentic flavor. The Chispas are also a must-try--they offer multiple flavors, and they were a hit with our group. Overall, despite the slower service, the food and drinks were outstanding. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven't been before. Went for lunch on a Friday and it was busy as usual. We did get seated almost immediately. We started off with Chiapas because you can't go there without trying one. They are pretty strong so you may be OK with just one. I had the chile relleno plate for my meal. I asked for corn tortillas instead of flour. The Corn tortillas were not the store-bought kind. It was a good size portion and everything was flavorful. The chile relleno is topped with ranchero sauce . They do offer complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is not spicy at all. Our waiter was around enough. He was friendly. Parking is available on site, but shared with the many other businesses. read more

I stopped in at the bar after a round of golf for a couple of drinks and ended up getting a bite to eat as well. The Chispas were refreshing and a great balance of lime juice and tequila. I had the Chile Relleno from a recommendation given by a patron at the bar. It was huge and delicious. Well seasoned chicken and cheese stuffed into a green chile. Chips and salsa were on point as well. The only pain was getting to this restaurant with all the construction on 1604. Getting in and out was not fun. read more

Very disappointed that after coming here almost weekly for 2.5 years, that my husband and I signed in and a party of 5 signed in right after us and then we see 30 minutes later they are seated before us in the bar section where every table has a reserved sign. Me being me, finally had to ask for manager because I was curious how this happened since my husband asked one of the hostess "but you have all these open tables with reserved signs." The hostess responded, yes sir, these tables are reserved weeks or months before. Which obviously is not the case. Oh my goodness! What a fantastic dining experience! El Mirasol was recommended to my group by Daniel, the bartender at the Grand Hyatt, who promised that it was worth the Uber. It sure was! We started with the Guac & Rib Eye (my mouth is watering as I write this) with the Chispa Mirasol margaritas. I am not a marg aficionado but I would be if this was the standard offering. Delicious (maybe too much since I had 2). Service was on point, very efficient, we never felt rushed. We weren't sure what the two additional salsas were, but the creamy orange one had a wonderful kick and I wish I could've snuck a gallon of the salsa verde on the plane ride home. I split the Enchiladas a la Mexicana with my friend so we could try the three flavors. The chicken was flavorful and moist; no favorite, all were delicious. I wasn't offered to add any flavors but on my second round I got a strawberry chispa which was great. Super yummy! We shared an order of guacamole and chicken quesadillas which were good. Chips and salsa were complimentary. Prices are definitely a bit on the high side. The restaurant was busy on a Friday afternoon so make your way over as soon as you can. Would definitely return. I consider Mirasol to be one of the best staples of San Antonio but unfortunately the service fell short on Mother's Day! The table was dirty when we were seated. Waiter took a long time to circle back to table so drinks weren't filled, couldn't ask for extra plates, tortillas, napkins, etc. When desserts were brought out, waiter didn't anticipate to bring extra utensils and still added 20% to the bill. Food is great, drinks are even better! Unfortunately service is not. Over all, majority of the staff (mainly servers, the runners are so attentive) here cannot make eye contact and give off the impression that they are inconvenienced as soon as you sit down. No one looks you in the eyes as they greet you or bring the food to the table. Our server rarely stopped by to ask us how everything was or if anything was needed but as soon as she dropped the check she stopped by 2/3 times continuously asking if we are ready to cash out all while I'm boxing my Togo food. I would have appreciated this much anticipation throughout my lunch but the lack of customer service in the service industry is baffling. Hospitality training would go a long way. read more

They're known for their chispas; the drink is so infamous at this location that the staff have tshirts with "chispa" on them...and they are STRONG (as are most of the drinks). I've been to one of the other El Mirasol locations, but this was my first time dining at this location. I met some friends on a week day around 2pm and there were plenty of tables open. Nice Mexican restaurant in San Antonio The ambiance is really nice and the inside has some great designs that makes it feel very welcoming and a little higher end. The service was also great The food was good and enjoyed it but was not anything to write home about. Had the following -Camaron Al Ajillo - Shrimp was over cooked. Not so overcooked that it was rubbery, but definitely overcooked for my liking and especially for a place like this were it shouldn't be for the price. On the flip side, my vegetables felt like a pile of just whole vegetables and less cooked. I was expecting more of a vegetable fajita style which part of it kind of is but you get while broccoli and green beans etc that just feels like it should be smaller. It wasn't my favorite -Rancheras enchiladas with beef - this was definitely the better dish of the two. The beef enchiladas were really good and the beans and rice also had a really nice flavor. I would probably get this again if I am All in all it is a good Mexican restaurant but with so many other options in the San Antonio area, I am not sure if I feel compelled to go back until I try a lot more other options read more
