Pizza has always been good at this location. The Chiefs are usually really good too. Fries can be hit or miss, which is the only bummer.

Rip off! Not ethical! Tried to order the "60 Year Anniversary $3.50 Pizza". This offer was an online order only. Tried ordering beginning at 9:30 am. Online order form would not take my Special Offer #. Tried ordering throughout the day finally calling them at 6:30 pm. Gal on phone was very nice and polite but would not accommodate me. The state of Rosati's saddens me - NOTHING like it used to be. We've ordered from this location for over 20 years. Tonight we ordered two small pizzas: 1 thin pepperoni and sausage, well done, and one white pizza. Not only was the pepperoni and sausage not well done, it wasn't DONE. So much sauce it leaked all over the box during transport. Cheese looked like thick plastic. The white pizza was so so. More well done than the other... so much ricotta it fell off in clumps when trying to eat. I've gotten used to the hit and miss over the last 5 years, but I think it's time to get a new go to place. I ordered a pizza at 4:30. At 5:30 it hadn't arrived. I called and they said according to the driver the pizza was delivered. Well, I had no pizza then they said the order must have been "dropped." So they offered to remake it and send another one. The one they sent (at 6 p.m.) was cold and HAD NO FRICKING CHEESSE ON IT! When I called again, they claimed I called THEM and said we're lactose intolerant and didn't want cheese. I ordered the pizza online (see attached pics) and made no mention of no cheese or lactose intolerance. Both staff members I spoke to were rude and argumentative. They didn't even offer to make me another pizza for free. I insisted they refund my money. I will never do business with this company again. I have been ordering pizza, usually the Monster with thin crust, for many years and have never been disappointed. I have ordered from several places in McHenry County, and find them to serve consistently good pizza. While I have gotten really good pizza from a few other restaurants I always come back here. They deliver to our house, between Crystal Lake and Cary, which most other places won't go to. The delivery time can be as long as an hour and a half so around dinner I do have to plan ahead. Midday I stop in to get a slice for lunch and there is almost always fresh pizza (so far never a Monster though) which is perfect to hold me till dinner. Rosati's puts a thin net-like barrier between the pizza and the box which does two things: the bottom of the pizza doesn't stick to the box, and leftover pizza doesn't have a soggy crust. I run the netting through the dishwasher and will double it up if it's just me eating the pizza and will be pushing the limits for a soggy pie. I order a large Monster a couple of times a month, and have been for most of the last 20 years. Pizza is my favorite so I like to have it on hand. It is usually slice it in squares, but if I order it pie-cut I get it sliced as pizzas traditionally are. Once in a while it comes cut into squares but that is infrequent, and not an impediment to an enjoyable meal. read more

We have lived in Crystal Lake for just over 20 years. We've used crystal Lake Rosatis Pizza on hundreds of occasions. Some good experiences and some not so good. I'm not sure but I suspect it's under new management? We've ordered several times over the past few months and noticed a change. Consistent friendliness when we call, consistent great pizza, crust, sauce and toppings. Plus, all the delivery drivers we've had have been very friendly and polite. Whatever your doing keep it up. This place is horrible. We ordered a pizza from a hotel, and were told that they couldn't bring orders up to the rooms. We would be informed when our order was brought to the front desk. Long after the ETA, we called the restaurant and were told the food had been delivered. The front desk had no record. The restaurant hung up on us TWICE, once after the supposed driver yelled at me and called me a bitch when I asked why they didn't verify an ID. We asked to have our card refunded 4 times. It never happened. All of a sudden, we are told they delivered down the hall (again, no verification) and still no refund. Supposedly waiting on delivery currently. While the restaurant's manager has found the time to respond almost two weeks after the fact, he is missing the point. We were first told that the pizza was simply handed to someone standing outside (?) and then told it was delivered to a specific room, and then told that no one had any idea what room it was delivered to. Rosati's staff was insolent and rude, and I spoke with at least 3 employees. There are plenty of bad reviews here, so they can all speak for themselves. Surprised by a credit card fee when picking up. Rosati's responds to these reviews and asks customers to try them again. So I did. The 2nd time was OK. This review is for the 3rd time I tried them, and I already left this feedback for them on there internal feedback solicitation. Apparently they have started charging a credit card fee. yet, somehow, they believe if they disclose this - at the time of pickup, that it is a non-cash adjustment, it will be accepted more easily, it seems. I was surprised when I went in to pick up my pie, by two things. One, the teenage staff only put on masks when customers come in to pick up orders, and two - a 3.99% fee to pay with a credit card, which, to my knowledge then becomes a profit center for the business, as I believe the credit card fees max out at 3.5%. none of this was shown when ordering. read more

I've been to Rosati's all over the greater Chicago area and other parts of Illinois. It's usually a reliable choice when you cannot trust the quality of the other local pizza places that are somewhat sketchy. Therefore, the Rosati's brand is a solid choice in general. While visiting my parents, they had saved enough coupon vouchers off the pizza boxes to order a large, 1 topping pizza for half off the original price. In that case, the pizza was VERY affordable based on the discounted rate ($11 after tax). We ordered just a simple large pepperoni pizza. Not sure what it was, but the cheese was perfectly melted and you can taste the high quality. The pepperoni pieces didn't slide off the cheese, which is a common complaint when I order pepperoni pizzas. In terms of labeling, i think their logo is going through a change to appear more trendy, most likely for the millennial crowd that commonly rejects the idea of chains. As a city girl, Rosatis pizza is home to me. A few months ago I ordered and it was alright. Not like the city but doable. Thursday night we order because I miss Rosatis. Thinking it will be better I thought hella wrong!! We order a large family size and get a small cheese free. We're vegans so I wanted a veggie pizza and a cheese. Toppings are $5 each! Menu says $1.80. On top of that we find pieces of pepperoni in it!! We're fkn vegans!!!!!! That $75 dollar pizza was the absolute worst! We've given them tons of business and because we complained one time due to a pizza being cold and all of the cheese on one side, they refuse to deliver to us anymore. Rosati's Crystal Lake has been a godsend for us when it comes to CATERING! We recently hosted a birthday party with ~40 guests and were able to feed everyone for ~$130 (less than $4/person). This included Italian Beef (including all peppers/cheese/bread), Fried Chicken, Mostaccioli, Caesar Salad, & garlic bread. ALL guests were able to eat ALL of this for less than $4 person. It is an outstanding deal. Unbeatable from what our research found. In addition we had all of this delivered to our home, up the stairs, and into the kitchen for $3 charge (+ tip). I think you would be hardpressed to find a better deal in the area for the quantity, quality, and selection of food included with this catering deal. __________ From time to time we also order their thin-crust pizza which is head-and-shoulders above the dominos/pizza huts of the world. I also highly suggest ordering their beer-nuggets (dough nuggets) which is basically a pound of food (+ dipping sauce) for under $5. This review is for delivered pizzas. I have ordered from here maybe 5-6 times over the years and each time has been at least ok pizza. There is a tendency to put on too much sauce and WAY too much cheese so, as others have noted, there can be a soggy crust especially on the larger sized pies. I sometimes think being so close to Wisconsin that more cheese gets to be the norm on a pizza---- but for me... it is not what I prefer. The crust is bland with no character but also it doesn't seem horrible. I always make sure that I order my pizza EXTRA crispy and easy on the cheese or you will have toppings in your lap or a a nice limp crust regardless. I have to be in a certain mood to eat here. The cheese is pretty darn thick on their pizzas. Actually its also thick on the cheesy garlic bread (my kids love this) too. Sometimes the crust is a bit soggy because of the cheese, but I kinda like that. Delicious floppy pizza. Cheese fries are pretty good, you need a fork, or a desire to be messy, to eat them. Arguably, you'd think all Rosati's Pizza place's are all the same. Well that's what I thought before ordering a pizza for pickup here at this location. It seems they all have their differences... Any way, after i picked up the pizza, I was so hungry that I couldn't wait, and started eating while driving in the car (I did so in a safe manner, although I had to reach over pretty far to grab pieces). In the car eating, I realized their pizza was/is somewhat different than other Rosati's locations, that is, their onions were chopped and I prefer sliced (like the other Rosati's have sliced onions). Their crust was a little soft from sitting in the box making it harder to eat, the cheese and toppings slid off the crust when I picked it up and on several occasions, I threw cheeseless toppingless crust out the car window and ate just the cheese and toppings that slid off the crust in the box. (I believe this isn't littering because it's a biodegradable item)... So getting back on track, whereas the onion topping seems to vary from one Rosati's to another, the Italian sausage, the mushrooms, the cheese, and the sauce, arguably, seemed similar to the others. Lastly, the lady running the register was personable, if not a little funny, when I picked the pizza up. All in all, the end product "tastes" pretty good, like the other the Rosati's, despite their use of chopped onions. read more

Definitely best Rosati's I've been to. I've always ordered thin crust and it always has lots of cheese and plenty of sauce and it's ready in fifteen minutes. It's really good Chicago style thin crust. My house is full of pizza fanatics and these pizzas get devoured in like 60 seconds. They also always have coupons and you can a Large one-topping for $14 if you pick it up.
