I was under the impression Rose Nail Bar for $125.00 was providing me a service of a Russian Manicure. This was not the case. My person whom I love couldn't fit me in before my trip, so I wanted to find another place that specifically did Russian Manicures. What I received was a waterless manicure with gel polish in less than an hour. Russian Manicures for those who are unaware take two hours due to the technique that is used. This establishment shouldinnmy opinion remove the "Russian Dry Manicure" wording from their site. It's disingenuous. A dry manicure with gel that takes less than an hour and won't last four weeks isn't worth what I paid. As far as the vibe, it was so quiet in there I thought I was in a library and the salon lacks any memorability. The walls are stark white and the furniture blends in. Do not go there! These people are desperate for money. After I gave my credit card to make a reservation, I accidently went to the wrong salon. I offered to pay a $25 cancellation fee, but no, Rose charged me for a full manicure and pedicure that I did not receive. Even a doctor's office doesn't charge for a full missed appointed, a reasonable cancellation fee is charged. Maybe I could understand a full charge for a missed Friday afternoon or Saturday appointment, but this was a Wednesday afternoon. Terrible way to operate a business. read more

I had a horrible experience with the tech Bibi. Service Booking: I asked for a French manicure design. That is level 1 and a simple design. Appointment Timing: I arrived 5 mins before my scheduled time, waited to be assisted. I paid for a 2hr service and was out in 45mins. Towel Warmth: The warmer was on the entire time and the tech (Bibi) chose to just use hot water. Salon Environment: If you open your salon at a certain time then the level of Wifi: Regarding the Wi-Fi, the technician (Bibi) did not want to share the password. I even said never mind because she started yelling the password at me. This had nothing to do with proper scheduling as I've been here multiple times (even before the new location) and haven't had these issues with Nina, Lana, Hanna or Iris. Like everyone else, I found Rose Nail Bar on Instagram and am SO happy I did. I don't usually cross state lines if I can help it, but this salon is worth the trek into Arlington for! The owner, Rose, is a delight, but all of the nail techs were kind and did amazing work--everyone getting their nails done kept showing them off to one another because we were all so excited and impressed. I bite my cuticles when I'm stressed, and that makes getting manicures embarrassing and sometimes painful. My nail tech, Amy, was incredibly kind and careful to make my comfortable--not only making sure I wasn't actively bleeding or in pain but also by not shaming me. She used the teeniest brush to make my nail dreams come true, and they look AMAZING. I probably wouldn't do such an intricate design for any old time, but since these are for a special occasion and upcoming trip, it was worth the time for me (and, I hope, for her!) to get something really special and to feel good about my nails, despite my stress habit! read more

One of the best, if not best, manicure salon ever. They do BIAB (builder gel in a bottle brand line) and I put my nails through the ringer. Despite the heavy duty work, my manicure didn't chip, nothing remotely close to looking raggedy. Biggest problem I had was dulling of the top coat but that was on me because I was rough on my nails and hands. It's a dry manicure and while that was not something I was used to, it is actually way better. Removal process was gentle on my nails and no acetone was used. They're a very busy shop and appointments are tough to snag (they do require a card on file) but this place is worth their weight in gold. I got Amy and her attention to detail is amazing. I get simple colors and nothing too fancy, but their time and attention to providing a clean manicure is perfect. Parking is very difficult if the lot is full, and you can't park in some of the residential areas behind them, so plan accordingly. Overall, it's an excellent place. It is pricey and booking can be confusing but they're happy to help you book accordingly if you just ask. I have been going to Rose for years now, and would never consider going to another nail tech. Her skills and creativity are unmatched, especially in the DMV. She is so attentive to detail, speedy, and open to trying new fun designs. I have never been able to explore all of my crazy nail design ideas and see them perfectly executed with previous techs. I have also never been to a salon where they shape and clean up my cuticles so beautifully. Rose also really values natural nail health and it shows- my nails have never been so long and strong (coming from a previous acrylic nail addict). Overall Russian manicure by Angie was very good. Everything you would expect from a Russian Mani, including a dry manicure and meticulous filing, including great cuticle care. This is my first time to the salon, and it is very laid-back and chill. They offered refreshments, including sparkling water. Took about one and a half hours for a basic Russian manicure. I had previous builder gel that needed to be removed. I was able to do a fill. The previous color was more of a light pink and I was going to a creamy white opal color. everything was perfect except you can still see some of the pink undertone from the previous manicure which I don't believe as ideal. I don't believe this is Angie's fault, but I wish she would have let me know that you may see the color if that was the case I may have went with a darker color instead. The shape of my index fingers are just slightly off on the edges and curve of the nail.. I am extremely picky, so I noticed this, but from far away it is not noticeable. I decided to stay with a square tip. I hope this manicure also lasts me four weeks like the previous one. Prices are very reasonable payment was easy. Last picture posted is a picture that I was using as reference. Nails turned out pretty similar. Was hoping for more of a square shape like the picture. I had an okay experience. I scheduled my appointment online, sent in pictures of the nail art I wanted, and got the appointment confirmed. This is my first time at the salon so I go to the address listed, I show up and it's an apartment building. When they texted me a few times about coming earlier they could have said the salon was around the corner from the address listed. No problem, I walk in and no one says a thing or greets me. I sit and wait and finally the person working on my nails walks out. She says she's able to do the nail are requested and all is good. I get gel builder (like I normally do at other salons) but this time my nails were on fire when under the light/gel solidifying machine, in so much pain I had to stop a few times. The person doing my nails said nothing and kept going. Then it got to the nail art. She started with a different color than the photos, I asked to change before she even did a full nail and she did. Then she wasn't able to the cat eye heart, which is totally fine but she kept trying for 30 minutes - making a gel manicure over 2 hours. I finally said let's just do something else. We switched it up, she did a fine job. It cost over $100 with tip and my nails were on fire, much shorter than I wanted (she cut without asking if I liked the length) and then my nails cracked two days later and I had to go back to get it fixed. I wanted to try a nail salon closer and a friend recommended this one. I also didn't know much about a Russian manicure and wanted to try it. It was difficult to get through via phone but eventually got through and someone emailed me an appointment time. Rose sent me a text to see if I could arrive earlier, which I could. The mani was fine - Rose was fine. What I didn't love was what was put on my nails at the end - I guess it was some type of fast dry drop. It caused tiny bubbles in my polish. I sent a text to Rose and it took her a while to respond. She asked for a picture, which I sent and then nothing. I do use regular polish and not gel so not sure if that had anything to do with it but to not remedy the situation left a bad taste. Won't be going back. My friend went at a separate time to get a pedicure and apparently they don't automatically do a foot massage, so she emailed to add it and they didn't and wouldn't do it on site. Ew. I booked an appointment for a gel manicure and was told that because I had builder gel I could only get my nail polish removed and that I wouldn't have time for the service I booked. Understandable- that would've been fine if they hadn't started before telling me this and taken off two nails. if I had known before they started removing my polish I would've rebooked with more time (and they didn't even give me the option to rebook and come back the next day. Instead they offered me a chance to wait an extra 40 minutes so i could get squeezed in. I understand they were trying to be helpful but it's still a huge inconvenience). Cute and clean space. Made an appt after following on IG for months and liking the nail art designs. I got a pedi and BIAB mani for the first time, with the impression that BIAB would last longer and help me grow out my nails. Unfortunately it started to chip and lift in less than 1.5 weeks. The dry approach to manis and pedis was also really unpleasant and is the main reason I won't be back. Hot drills and rough brushes, and the nail artist made my cuticles bleed on 3 fingers due to rough cutting. Bummer. read more

***Long Review ***I found Rose's nail bar on IG and was super excited to book a BIAB mani and gel pedicure. Unfortunately, after 3.5 hours on my manicure ALONE and $95 later, I have horrible looking nails that I now have to repay someone else to do. These were suppose to be my nails for wedding (which I wrote in the Appt. Note) and there's no way I'll be taking pictures with my nails looking this bad. This was my first and LAST time here. I frankly feel robbed and this establishment couldn't care less. I reached out to the owner privately before posting this review to give her a chance to correct it, but her solution was to come back at 7:30p for her to fix it. I informed her that I had a 6am flight to catch and a late appt was really pushing my schedule especially since I live 1 hr away. I explained that even her own nail tech said that she was sorry they came out so bad and said that I didn't even have to worry about tipping her. The owner stated that her nail tech said it took so long because the gel removal took longer than expected because my gel was super thick - which was a total lie. My gel was standard gel and of the 100's of nail salons that I've gone to, I've never once heard that my gel was too thick to be removed in a timely fashion. Her tech just didn't know what she was doing which is evident in my pictures. There's so much more but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I'll post what I asked for versus what I received. I'll also add that I did ask for a refund since it really didn't seem like the owner was trying to work on a reasonable schedule/time. The owner said that since they didn't charge me for the nail design, there's nothing for them to really refund since it looked like the nail tech applied the BIAB builder correctly!
