We were craving donuts, but didn't want the run-of-the-mill Dunkin' or Krispy Kreme. That was when we discovered this donut shop on Yelp as we were driving home. I love mom&pop shops because they give off such a friendly and homey vibe. Location: It's located right off of Rosemead Blvd and Longden Ave. There is a private parking lot, but there aren't very many spaces. If you know the area, you know there are stereotypical drivers and they aren't the best parkers... so that may take up more spaces than normal. Service: Friendly! The man who was behind the counter was so patient and friendly. Food: They have a variety of donuts in their display case that was so appetizing! We had to go with the cronut (which is what they are known for) and some other basic donuts. We ordered the maple donut, the lemon-filled, and the apple fritter. TLDR: Definitely would come back if I'm in the area. They have other drinks and smoothies that were appetizing too. read more

Saw this donut shop when picking up pizza at Little Caesars. This place opens super early, 4:30am, a bonus for people that are starting off the day early. Lots of people behind the counter, all very young, so I am guessing it's family own. All the staffs are energetic and friendly. I ordered the sprinkled donut, guava filled fried tortilla, glazed cronut, and half a dozen donut holes. My favorite one is the guava filled fried tortilla. It's very crispy. The guava is sweet, but just the right amount of filling. Pair it down with a cup of black coffee and you'll be just fine. The Cronut was ok, not as crispy as I have imagined. The donut hole could use a little more glazed so it covers the whole donut. The donuts are all very fresh. Doesn't have the bad oil taste that sometimes you can taste with other donuts joints. Will definitely come by again to try other varieties. read more

On a Valentines Morning in February, I waited in line to buy an maple bacon donut. The shop only allow 5 people inside. There was a few people waiting for their breakfast sandwiches. Finally it was my turn and it was so hard to decide and decided to buy maple bacon donut for hubby and a bears claw for myself. The owner was nice and put everything in separate bags. The bear claw was room temp and still fresh, not greasy at all. Next time I will try their other donuts. read more

Rose Donut is a great little breakfast spot for some quick ham and egg and cheese sandwiches and a few donuts to satisfy a craving. I prefer the flaky buttery croissants and my mom likes the bagels. My brother really likes the maple bars here and my mom enjoys the maple and bacon cronut - a great blend of crispy sweet and savory layers. Prices are very reasonable and all the baked goods are very fresh! There are a few clean, little cafeteria tables for you to enjoy your meal inside or you can also take it to go. Service here is really friendly and welcoming - I love supporting local hardworking mom-and-pop shops and it's a plus that it's a convenient location on my way to my work. I came by once in the evening and since they were closing soon she gave me an extra chocolate bar donut. So nice! Rose Donut & Sandwiches was definitely an unexpected find. I was looking for a quick afternoon bites in Temple City and this highly rated mom-and-pop donut shop popped up on my Yelp search radar. Apparently this is the first bakery in SGV (San Gabriel Valley) that actually sells the cronut. The shop is located in a small strip mall and parking lot is fairly small. I asked whether they still have maple bacon cronut and unfortunately they ran out of them at 3 PM on Saturday. Ultimately I ordered maple bacon donut instead and also brought a Scratcher here. Owners were very friendly! *** Maple Bacon Donut ($2.50): Yes it was a bit sweet, but I was blown away by its fluffy texture. Donut was a bit cold, but I can exactly see why people like maple bacon so much. Turkey Cheese Croissant ($3.75): The owner heated up my croissant using the microwave and I immediately knew that was start of something good. OMG this donut shop really mastered their dough recipe because croissant had super fluffy bread. Heck cheese and turkey ratio was good too! The owners are very friendly, remember your name, ask how things are going, it's just fantastic. It's a very small and cute place. Quiet and cute. You can usually find some elder customers enjoying a coffee and sharing stories. The food though...oh the food. The donuts are always fresh, delicious, great variety. You never get anything dry or crusty. The sandwiches though! Best in the Los Angeles County! I've been coming to Rose Donut for over 15 years now. They honestly have the best donuts ever. I've gone to SO many places like Sidecar, Blue Star, Donut Friend, Randy's, etc. even lots of local mom and pops much like Rose itself. NOTHING COMPARES. I am a basic B and I like my glazed and chocolate donuts as is without added ingredients or flavors. Rose has the softest and most delicious basics but they also have beat claws, filled, cake donuts, and various other types. They used to be 24 hours but now close at 3pm (which is sometimes difficult for me to get to). Even when I'm hit with the most intense cravings, I will wait until the next day when Rose is open again to make sure can scratch that donut craving itch, I won't take any substitutes! Secondly, they have the best dang sandwiches! I know they bake their bread themselves and it's some goooood bread. It beats Subway any day and it's cheaper too. It really hits the spot! My favorite is the veggie sandwich with everything. It's lightly toasted and has crispy edges with soft insides. Flavor bomb! So so yummy. Definitely support them! Came in on an early sat morning, thought I'd be greeted with warm customer service. There was a young man and old woman there. The old woman didn't even place the food I ordered in my hand. As I lent my hand out to accept the food she slams the food on the counter and shoves it to me right in front of me, instead of gently placing the food in my hand like she should. The minute I walked it's as if she was mad at the world, easily irritated, and could care less about serving donuts. I wish I can rewind the day and never come back here. I was so angry. Instead of leaving with a warm smile on the face ready to start the day, her energy Just ruined my day. Horrible attitude and customer service. I'll get my donuts somewhere else. The funny thing about jet lag is that you wake up at 4am ready for dessert and breakfast all at the same time. Going with the flow, I found this place on yelp. The service was excellent; the husband and wife running the shop were warm and really kind. Their shop has been serving the local community for almost 36 years. Looking over their wide selection, it took a couple of minutes to decide what to get. The blueberry donut, apple fritter, and bacon maple cronut are all must haves. The maple donut and custard bar were a little too sweet for me though. I scratched the breakfast itch with a bacon and egg croissant sandwich. The toasted croissant and melted cheese made it really good. I'd definitely come back for this. Despite starting the day with only a few hours of sleep, I'm happy to have found this local gem. They sell donuts, bagels, sandwiches, and all kinda drinks. Very clean and have some seatings inside. $10 minimum for credit card. Tried fat boy sub, which was decent. The bread tasted fresh and with lots of Ingredients. Very similar to subway though. Also tried sausage and egg croissant and liked it too. It wasn't really fluffy, but it was flaky and flavorful. Was looking for a donut place early easter sunday since the staff was craving donuts. Majority of them were either closed or starting late. Fortunately for us I called this place up and they were all freshly made and ready to go. The guy working behind the counter was really nice. Super busy running the entire store. Conversational and easy to speak to. They have a wide variety of not only donuts, but also sandwiches and different breakfast items and even smoothies, slushies and boba drinks. They also have different sizes of coffees including a large carafe, just like they do at starbucks. I ordered a bevy of different donuts, including cream filled, twists, sprinkles and even maple bacon. The maple bacon is a must try. Perfect amount of sweetness and saltiness. The dough is dense and really filling. Dense in a good way. Bacon really does make everything better!! Just the fact that they were open when so many other places weren't.
