I was really craving donuts one night and this was the closest place to me with good reviews that was open at night. I came an hour before closing and there were still a good amount of choices available. My favorite is the maple bacon cronut! The donuts here are also not sickenly sweet so this was good! Prices are also pretty affordable, it's a little under 2 bucks for a donut. They do charge a 75 cent fee on cards under $12. Everything looked good so I ended up buying over $12 anyways. They also serve sandwiches here with some sort of donut and sandwich combos. Their sandwiches seem good, will try next time! Bonus: they gave me a free donut on the house! Owners seemed to be super nice and friendly as well. read more

I've driven by Rose Donut so many times, but it wasn't until I saw all the positive reviews popping up that I actually decided to stop by and try it out for myself. Rose Donuts is located across the street from Valu-Mart and is in the same plaza as Little Caesar's Pizza. The parking lot is quite small, but people always seem to be pulling in and out so parking shouldn't be too difficult to find. There's also plenty of street parking as well. The store itself isn't too big. There were a lot of different donuts on display when I went at around 8 on a weekday morning. With such a variety, I decided to just pick random donuts to fulfill my dozen that I was bringing for my coworkers. The lady helping me was extremely sweet and patient as she explained to me which donuts were popular and which ones she liked. I ended up choosing more of the popular donuts - glazed, sugar, chocolate, etc. And of course I bought a cronut with custard filling. She prepared it for me right then and there, and I couldn't help myself and take a bite as I drove to work. It was the first time I ever tried a cronut, and I could see why people went crazy for cronuts! It was delicious - the cronut was flaky and covered with glaze, giving it a croissant texture but with a sweetness to it that you normally wouldn't expect. And with that custard filling - I was on a sugar high for the rest of the day. It took me until after lunch to finish that thing, but it was so good. I don't know the exact prices because the lady just calculated everything at the end and the total was a little more than $10, but I thought it was pretty cheap considering the positive feedback I got from my coworkers about the donuts - but then again, who doesn't like donuts when it's early in the morning and you've got a long day ahead of you? The cronut was more expensive - about $3-4. It was good, but I probably wouldn't pay for that again just because it was too much for me. They also offer sandwiches here. I've heard the sandwiches are really good, but I have yet to try them! tl;dr - A very good place to stop by if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth craving or pick up some goodies for your coworkers/friends. Definitely try their cronuts if you're into doughnuts! They have various fillings, so be sure to ask them which ones they're offering. read more

Excellent taste, texture and appearance is in store for donut lovers at Rose Donuts. The cronuts, cake donuts, glazed, chocolate bars and cinnamon rolls were all so good! I was really impressed with how nice they looked too. It was like each one was individually made. The most impressive thing about Rose Donuts however was how accommodating the gentleman who helped us was. I mean it's only a donut (and sandwich) shop right? My PIC saw the label for the ham and cheese croissants in the case but there weren't any there. The man checked in the back for us but there weren't any there either. Instead of just saying sorry he asked if we wanted him to make one! We didn't accept his offer but we have no doubt that it was sincere. Temple City is a long way to go for a donut (from Culver City). But with great customer service and quality products I'll be back. Nice people selling tasty donuts makes a long trip seem more worthwhile. read more

5 stars for their great customer service and their Cronuts!! I was not cool enough back in high school days to visit this donut shop even though it was voted the Favorite Hang Out Spot. Fast forward many, mannnny years later on a recent Friday and I decided to finally try their cronut. Unfortunately it was all sold out due do National Donut Day, I asked the owner lady to save me a couple so I can try it the next day. It was not a problem since I also paid in advance. These cronut were a bit crunchy like a toasted croissant and delicious like a glazed donut without being overly sweet. The maple bacon one is a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The following weekend, I decided that I wanted to get some for my friend as part of her birthday present. I called ahead to make sure they have the cronuts and luckily they had just made a fresh batch! The owner lady remember me even with my mask on and even threw in a few donut holes for the order. Sharing is caring, and happy that my birthday friend got to enjoy these cronuts too! During Covid, they have a signage only allowing 5 customers inside at a time and people were practicing distancing as well. read more

Updating my review. Sanwhiches are great here, considering it's not a subway. (I said that in my 1st review) I'm updating my review because I came in here hoping to get a 1/2 dozen Cronuts in different flavors, but there was only a couple to choose from. So I asked the lady, and she said she'll make an order, I was like, aaaawsome sauce!!! So I put in my order and it was ready in a few hours with no extra charge. I haven't tried any Cronuts anywhere else, but whatever a Cronut is, they were pretty good here at Roses Donuts. I jut liked this place because they made me something they did not have. And I doubt it's because they need the business because that donut shop does quite well for a donut shop. Definitely a fan, and definitely will be coming back..!! read more

I wanted to buy donuts for my co-workers around 8 am. I bought about 12 donuts and it was around $20. Great price! Not to mention, the service was great and everyone was so friendly. Its a great atmosphere to bring your family and friends. Also, they have great donuts too! Blueberry donuts are my favorite and they satisfied my cravings to the max! Rose's is a great donut place that, like people similarly aged, has gone through a lot. one of the daughters now runs the place and due due the present state of emergency, have reduced hours (5 am to 3 pm). They're doing this as there's no one on the streets and they want to have time with the family, which in a Cambodian Chinese setting, can be a sizeable amount of peoples. read more

This is primarily a donut place, but I was craving a bagel and for $2.80, it was too good a deal to pass up. They don't skimp out on the cream cheese at all and toast the bagel to a perfect crisp. The place is a traditional mom-and-pop shop owned by an extremely friendly family with a good selection of donuts and pastries. There are quite a lot of regulars frequenting Rose's and the owners are all smiles with everyone. There is a small parking lot in front. If it's full, you can always park at the big supermarket lot across the street and walk over. If you love a good old fashioned donut or bagel, come and support this local small Asian-American owned business! read more

The owners are the nicest, hardest working people you'll meet. Their donuts are the absolute best, no kidding and their breakfast sandwiches are sooooo good! I love apple fritters a little too much and hands down, Rose donuts apple fritters are the absolute best. One of the best local donut spots that you will actually love. They have a great selection of donuts and sandwiches. I love to eat their French crullers. French crullers can not be had at every local donut spot. It takes a real professional to make them. One of my fave donuts to recommend. However, if you are looking for a little something extra then get a cronut. The cronut is a croissant and donut hybrid. It was the latest craze of donuts a while back but if you haven't had one then you need to at least get one. My fave is the maple bacon cronut. I love bacon! So, putting it on a donut is another fave of mine and I will devour it! Overall, Rose Donut & Sandwich is a local favorite and a place that I can keep coming back to again and again. read more

I've been coming to this place for roughly a year and I have to say, no other doughnut shop has gotten me to appreciate the more simpler doughnuts compared to the brands and makers of monstrous concoctions like VooDoo and California Donuts, etc. Not that I dislike them; but sometimes I just want a regular fritter or an old fashioned glazed. And that's what makes Rose stand out-- they do the simple stuff well, and consistently well. Too good, in fact. My favorite item of theirs is the apple fritter. Most times I've visited there'd only be less than a handful remaining, when other days they're sold out. My gf gets their glazed cronut with no filling. We've tried other local businesses that can't seem to measure up to Rose's recipe and craft. Their fritter has that deep amber browning, with the glaze "frozen" solid where it gives each bite a delectable crunch that complements the fluffy inside with the bits of cinnamony apple chunks. My gf has also tried copycat cronuts from other local brands and she attests to Rose's superiority. Some of my longtime favs from Rose are the glazed jam filled, old fashioned glazed and maple glazed, any of their buttermilk roll (?), their bear claw, blueberry cake, and their super crunchy and flaky glazed fried tortillas (also filled). My gf loves their glazed twists the second most and she too feels other stores can't get their glazed twists just as good as Rose's. We've tried many, and we've even compared to our experiences in NYC, Portland, and various LA-based brands-- Rose does a solid job with their doughnuts. They measure up to the country-known brands like Voodoo, sidecar, Dough Donuts, The Donut Project, Blue Star, and even heckin Dunkin. This is THE place! Love you, Rose! read more

What the actual heck these donuts are the BEST I've ever had in my life. Much to my Heath-conscious mind, my husband bought them home yesterday and I just haven't stopped talking about how good they are! I used to laugh at the idea of a cronut, 'why do those even exist' I would say... one bite and I get it. I get it whole heartedly. I just ate a chocolate sprinkle for breakfast and it's just so pillowy soft and crispy on the outside. What a way to start a Sunday. I stopped by one morning with a few extra minutes to pick up a quick lunch. The nice lady at the front suggested I get a pastrami sandwich. I waited about 15-20 minutes as she assembled my sandwiches and it was worth the wait... they were really good. I also couldn't pass up grabbing a few cronuts to go; maple bacon was just ok but the vanilla creme was much better. I would definitely come back because I prefer to support local business and the owners were super nice. Seemed like everyone that came in after me were regulars and there was a warm sense of community for a moment. read more

I was craving donuts this morning so I made my boyfriend take me here haha. I've been coming here for a few years and I've never been disappointed. It's your classic mom and pop sort of donut store run by Asians. I love how nice the workers are and the donuts are very fresh. I usually get donut holes or glazed donuts but all their other flavors are good too. Particularly I like the maple and chocolate flavors as well. Prices are good for the quality. I'll definitively be coming back still every time I crave something sweet. read more

GO HERE! Great way to start the morning. Part 3 of my donuts & coffee adventure. I had this place bookmarked. Not my usual route to the gym but I needed a quick bite. Thanks to some suggestions we ordered a couple of the Maple Bacon Cronuts. We also ordered a breakfast donut, an apple fritter, and a maple bar. (Some to bring home) Everything was good! Especially the cronut which seems to go pretty fast. It wasn't soggy like a lot of places and actually had a nice crunch to it. The sausage in the breakfast donut sandwich was meh but otherwise a good breakfast option prob because the donut was good. Been open since 1985. Owners are lovely. Will be back to try the sandwiches. read more

Gotta update about this place! They are the most friendliest and welcoming place I've been to! And the food is always fresh! I usually call In because my order takes a little time so I give them ample time without making them feel rushed too because they do have a lot of customers as well so I don't want them to feel overwhelmed. They are so nice that you don't want to rush them in anyway just let them do their thing and the food will come out amazing! And the donuts here are my wife and kids all time fav! I always order sausage crissont with egg and cheese. My wife does at times as well along with coffee toffee shake with her maple bar donuts. Must go if you are craving donuts! Delicious donuts served by the most wonderful staff. The "cronut" (croissant donut) with custard was probably low-key the best donut I've ever had. I also loved the blueberry-filled donuts and the sausage and egg croissant breakfast sandwiches. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This place is awesome! Rose Donuts has been around for many years and is family owned. The owners of the place are extremely nice and really try to make their customers happy. They often even take the extra mile and try to remember all their customers! Overall, there is a wide selection of donuts which all taste pretty good. I mostly only buy the sugar and chocolate twists but the others are also really good! They bake them fresh in the morning and are really soft. I try a lot of local donuts bakeries and honestly I usually end up coming back to this one. They have awesome service and are really kind, and make the best donuts around the area in my opinion. Highly recommend. read more

AMAZING!! Their donut is light and fluffy. It is perfectly glazed but is not too sweet that it give you a toothache. The owner is so nice and sweet, he gave me a bunch of donut hole on the side. They accept card but fair warning is 75cent extra charge for it. read more

It is good. It is the same price at the beef version but understandly so. The chicken meat was grilled tenderly, and the slice of ham it came with added the saltynesss the sandwich needed. Simple but effective. Also chilies adds great flavor too. You can ask for it on the side to adjust spiciness to your preference. Capicollo, one of the cold sandwich, was fine but nothing to write home about. Atlas or wings ($11.99/lb) here remind me of the ones I used to get when I was younger... I like how the spicy version is still deed fried and not saucy. (Personally prefer dry rubs.) The heat can creep up to u after a few. But not all wings are created equally, might end with with some tiny more battered ones along with regulars. Wait times can be longer during lunch times - waited 30 min for takeout during weekday lunch hour.

I've gotten at least a dozen sandwiches (and likely more) from Ike's over the years, and it was always my favorite local sandwich shop after they finally opened a location in the northeast side of LA. But I must say, as of late, their quality is really not the same as the past. I recently ordered a sandwich that came with mushrooms and it was barely cooked and mostly raw. Having raw mushrooms in a sandwich is really not it, and considering each sandwich here is about $16+ post tax and tip (yes I did tip), I think we can expect a little better quality, or at the very least, not having basically raw mushrooms in a sandwich. While they do have many sandwiches to choose from on such a vast menu, and everything is customizable (just with additional charges), it does feel like they'd do better if they nail down some of the details like making sure their cooked ingredients are actually cooked. All that said, the store is kept clean, there's some dine in tables as well as outdoor seating. The music indoors is kept loud, and the decor is very colorful and bold. Service feels like what you'd expect from employing recent high school or college students at their first jobs, but it's always been polite. It was packed with flavor even without the chipotle vinaigrette (relieved I got it on the side because I wasn't s big fan). The avocado was very fresh and plentiful. I added chicken for extra $4.74 and it was very tender! Overall, I enjoyed the salad but a bit pricey so it was a good one time experience! The Chicken Pesto Caprese ($14.10) was pretty good. It consisted of chicken, mozzarella, red peppers, pesto, and mixed greens. The greens were very fresh and the sandwich was packed with flavor. The chicken was a little dry but not a big deal. There was a lot of red pepper and it was a bit overwhelming so I wished there wasn't so much. Really enjoyed the pesto since it it wasn't too salty and was the cherry on top to the sandwich! I also really liked that the bread was soft and fresh. Got the "Not so Fried" Chicken Sandwich ($13.68) - 1/2 portion and it came with a side (paid extra $1.26) for tomato basil soup. It consisted of chicken, krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, onions, and herb aioli. The bread was very fresh and soft. I'm glad I got this in half portion because I thought this was just ok and nothing special. The tomato basil soup was very oily and salty so wasn't too enjoyable. The Pomegranate Mint Lemonade ($5.10) was sooo sweet. It was refreshing but the mint was a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend adding ice and/or water otherwise it's way too sweet! Overall, the sandwich and salads were a bit pricey but definitely one of the better spots for sandwiches and salads in terms of quality and quantity!

It reminded me more of a Vietnamese meat pie (pate chaud), which is peppery with a smoother texture that this one did not have, but it was still flavorful. The bread pudding was good but the texture was more dense reminding me of a banana bread loaf. I didn't care for the dollop of yogurt on top, which took away from the flavor of the bread pudding itself. Hubby said the Classic Aussie was good but was expensive for the size of the sandwich (small burger size). Hubby got the Long Black coffee which was good, but sadly my iced matcha latte was lacking in the matcha flavor. It was very pale in color and tasted mostly of milk. Service was quick and friendly. I will come back for the meats and try the other flavors of the meat pies next time.

This time my husband got the Granada which was recommended to us by Henry and I got my usual Legendary. Both sandwiches were packed with meat/ chicken and on top of that they both came out hot and ready to devour. The bread was succulent and a good amount of mayo and ketchup was added. All in all this is the experience we had been wanting to have and I'm so glad we went back. Thank you to Henry, again, for going out of his way to make us feel welcomed and well attended. Italian godfather was the second sandwich and I felt that it was missing something, it wasn't pack with flavor much. I just added some banana peppers and it helped. Also a big sandwich. Staff really friendly and they cook and assemble in front of you. Parking can be a little tricky here because it shares a lot with other businesses. The chop cheese is a must try and I will be coming back for their chicken and waffles

The shop has a total of eight tables, both indoor and outdoor to enjoy your treats.. I had to wait a few minutes because the cheese empanadas were piping hot as the young lady handed it to me. It smelled so darn good. I almost burnt my tongue when I bit into it. It was so delicious, bursting with flavor. Highly recommend this shop for these yummy treats. Shop locals' from small businesses. The shop feels like a hometown favorite as locals stop by and spoke to the young lady at the counter like they've known each other for some time.
