Disappointed. I was expecting a lavender latte, I got what it seemed like a vanilla latte. There is no lavender aroma, flavor, feel or aftertaste. Not worth the $5.67 for a small size. I have had lavender espresso lattes and this is not it. I don't mind the price for the cause (feed the homeless) but I do mind the hype. Same barista taking cash and orders. Took for* E*V*E*R. Cute little place but not good enough that I'd go back again. My iced coffee was pretty good--the lavender was a nice touch--and so was the little oat muffin I ordered. The costumer service was really poor,staff was pretty awkward and unwelcoming and would not name the drink once it was ready, making my friends and I super confused. The place is somewhat presentable, there are storage boxes everywhere and there doesn't seem to be much of an effort to make it look any nicer. read more

I was invited to an open mic event being hosted here and the vibe and environment was so great I came back for an afternoon meeting that I chose to host here. For starters, it has remarkably convenient parking, which is a huge plus in the LA-ish world. They have a small lot in the back and there's free street parking in the adjacent neighborhood. The cafe is very roomy. From my understanding it's a shared children's karaoke space on the weekends. However, during the week, it's a spacious and quiet space perfect for studying, coffee dates or meetings. It's sparkly clean which bruces up the ambience. It's decorated with art from local artists and changes, like an exhibition. The menu is modest but perfect enough for a cafe. I've had their vanilla latte and the cortada. Both were excellent and I'm already looking forward to going back to try other flavors as well as the pastries onsite. They even offer the space up for event rentals which makes it even better. They have a stage space, lots of sitting and standing room, and two full gender neutral bathrooms. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a calm atmosphere to get things done. read more

I was just had a really awkward first time at this coffee shop. I was walking in and I didn't see that a male employee was using a tape measurer to make the social distancing signs and I stepped on the tape measurer, making it go back to him, I didn't see if he got hurt but I did apologized, I felt so bad for him and I said sorry and he didn't say anything back instead he just stormed off angry and went to the back. Thankfully the sweet girl that was taking my order made it less awkward. The coffee was okay, but I don't think I will ever go back because of my first time experience. I just want to say I'm sorry to that employee that got so angry and I'm sorry to the girl that took my order who I'm sure felt awkward. read more

Finding a coffee shop that you can call your own is hard nowadays. With so many different spots popping up recently its hard to choose which might be the one for you. For me that place might just be Rosebud. I luckily live nearby and whenever I need to grab some great coffee they never fail to deliver. They are still a bit unknown so they are never super crowded so whenever I want a quiet cup of coffee this has been the place to go. Every barista there is super friendly and up for conversation which is nice. As for the coffee I have tried the espresso, pour over, drip and cold brew coffee from them and all are great. My personal favorites are the cold brew or the espresso, if I feel like sitting and chilling before heading off to work. The cold brew is a bit on the expensive side at 5 dollars but its consistently well made and a good refreshing pick me up. They have the typical pastry section you would see in smaller coffee shops. I have tried their kimchi spam pastry, chocolate croissant and ham and cheese pastry. If you are looking for a quick easy bite on the go they get the job done. I feel like next for me is some of their specialty drinks just to change things up I'll try to add that to my review soon. read more

I just had the best matcha latte of my life here. I ordered the matcha latte half sweet with pistachio milk-- it was incredible. I didn't know how good pistachio milk was until today. The sweetness level was perfect at half sweet, not super sweet but perfectly sweet that I can't stop sipping it! I wish the drink was bigger. It was gone in less than 5 min because it was so good. It was about half the price of what I've spent on other matcha lattes elsewhere in Los Angeles county. I can't wait to come back again just for the matcha latte with pistachio milk. What a spacious coffee shop and it is quieter than most even with a nice music melody playing in the background. Seating is ample. My oat milk vanilla latte was well balanced and yummy. The coffee in the pour over wasn't my favorite, but my husband liked the flavor. The mini gingerbread loaf was delicious. Tender moist crumb and cute presentation. Thankfully I did not have to share this with anyone. You can get other food items here if you are hungrier than a baked item. read more

Rosebud is exactly what I was looking for in Pasadena; a cafe with great drinks, plenty of space, and a very community driven feel to the whole thing. + not having to fight for parking in Pasadena is a blessing. When I was looking for a shop that sold oatmilk lattes, this was the first one I visited and haven't looked for another one since! I have repeatedly returned to this cute coffee shop because: 1) they have great coffee 2) space is HUGE, great for studying + working; plenty of outlets 3) decently quiet 4) good vibes :) I'm a simple coffee gal: a latte, cappuccino, or macchiato (the real one, not the caramel, sugar-infused Starbucks one) with no added anything please :) Just good espresso and milk...Also, goodbye almond milk and helloooo oat milk. I come here about 2 times a week when I'm working remote. There are plenty of seats to chat, study, or work for a few minutes or a few hours. I've had most of the espresso drinks as well as the pour-over coffees and have loved them all. Price-wise it's not the cheapest but your money is going towards a worthy cause instead of to a $25 billion per year revenue company that likes to call cops on minorities (fictional company - any resemblance to actual businesses is purely coincidental). read more

This place is awesome. They feature art from (local?) artists. The chai latte is really good, and I would really reccommend their matcha scone, it's delicious. The service is great and the architecture in the interior is really interesting. There's a lot of space to sit around. Coffee was so so, the pecan bun was really good though but the burrito, OMG the WORSE burrito ever. In my opinion they should state somewhere is not freshly made. I didn't say anything because is my fault for not recognizing they don't have a kitchen. They take it out of their refrigerator and warm it up in a small oven. One thing I love about this place is the fast that they employ former underprivileged people who are striving to life a better life. Hello new coffee place! Finding Rosebud could be a bit hard, but just keep an eye out for Chirp, a rental spot for child parties. Parking? Super easy on a weekday, plenty of street parking. The employees here are extremely welcoming! The way it's decorated will definitely appeal to all the minimalists out there. Menu is straightforward, definitely not like Starbucks or Coffee Bean.... Mint mocha: yum! It tasted like an Andes chocolate. I really wanted to try their syrups, since they all sounded so different and interesting, and I was not disappointed at all! Vanilla latte: definitely too sweet for my liking. My sister did enjoy it, it was her drink though. If you're not keen on the sweets, either ask for it to be less sweet or steer clear of this one. Pastries, chocolate croissant and blueberry muffin: something about these just didn't taste right. Neither items had the fluffiness of a pastry. The croissant didn't have the guilty pleasure of chocolate. The muffin didn't have the fruity burst of flavor. Honestly, they kind of tasted vegan and gluten free. Maybe they are and I wasn't ready for it. The coffee here is definitely something I will come back for; unfortunately, baked goods were definitely not for me. How could this place not be the landmark cafe in Pasadena in all travel magazines & local news? Maybe it is & we just didn't know it. We were looking for a coffeehouse to waste time. We walked in to see beautiful art & high industrial ceilings. My cappuccino was pure art with the foam & espresso forming a beautiful organic tulip design on top. The breakfast toast came on crusty gummy bread with avocado, organic mushrooms, arugula & a poached egg. There was no need to season because the sandwich chef/sandwich designer had it perfect. I just couldn't help taking a moment to write this review with no request ever asked of me. Very cultural feel. I've been twice and both times there were pleasant surprises. The first time, the drip coffee came with a beaker of... more coffee! The second time I had a cortado, and it was served with a small glass of mineral water. That's the generosity of a place that wants to be great hosts, and not merely a place selling coffee to make money. (And both the coffee and the cortado were great!) The staff are friendly and helpful, and the room is beautiful, light, and open, with lots of places to sit. The acoustics manage to help you easily hear the person you're talking with without having to listen to your neighbors' conversation. This is a great find. I am now a semi-regular at Rosebud. Why? Excellent coffee; friendly service; convenient parking, open feel with lots of light; always find a place to sit; support a good cause. Last week, I tried their food for the first time. Had a kolache (a sausage cooked in a kind of bun). That's a central European food that is super popular in Texas, where I used to live. This cafe always has me coming back for more. My favorite drink here is the lavender latte with oat milk, nutty, creamy, fragrant, and so delicious! Their coffee smells so good and tastes like what real coffee should taste like! I can't even find more words to describe the taste and aroma of this coffee, you'll just have to go try it! The cafe has an open concept, lots of open seating, you can watch your barista make your drink, soft music playing, and a good number of outlets. They do serve food but I usually just come for coffee. They do have restrooms and a large parking lot in the back, as well as street parking. Baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. So they just raised their prices. That's not bad but.... The to go coffee's are much smaller than most places here in Pasadena and those places have lower prices. That's not bad either if it's a good brew but.... The place is FILTHY!!! The floors are dirty. The place where you get stirrers, cream & sugars was dirty. Cinnamon all over the area, sugar wrappers, a spoon. The tables are dirty. The Barista was standing and talking so much with my half made drink in his hand. So glad I did not give them my normal $1 tip. For a smaller than normal $6 latte. For a job they get paid to do!! This place has gone down. Even though it's close to my house. Plenty of seating in a open and airy space, plentiful parking on the street or in the lot out back, and wonderful friendly service! Just had a drip coffee since I was already well caffeinated but it was presented very nicely. I will be back to try other beverages!
