4 stars An interesting coffee shop. It shares a space with one other business, Wild Parrot...which means I now have to go back to try Wild Parrot! This visit, I ordered a lavendar latte, a bacon & cheddar scone, and a Colorado bacon breakfast sandwich. Their lattes are not too sweet and the coffee has a good balance of bitter and acidic. As a weak coffee drinker, I would recommend their lattes. The bacon & cheddar scone was my favorite! It was just the perfect level of savory to me and the bacon was visibly there. The Colorado bacon sandwich is basically an Egg Mcmuffin, but with a very thin slice of tomato and some cracked pepper in it. Here's the thing, the English muffin was crunchy on the outside, but wet/soggy on the inside (kind like a tres leche texture). I thought it made for a great contrast in texture, but I can see this being an issue for people who hate soggy foods (and drippy sandwiches). The taste of the sandwich was peppery, not too salty, and the bacon (aka ham slice) was very lean. Would I get this again? Maybe...? I am sad to write this review since I was really excited to try it out since I moved to Pasadena a couple months ago. I will provide constructive criticism for the business in hopes that the issues I faced as a customer can be resolved for others: 1. The only good thing is the parking, there is a back lot. 2. There were several issues with WiFi connection. The cashier was very friendly and assisted me for over two hours in hopes of getting the internet issue resolved. However we had no luck, and many other customers faced the same issue. The cashier mentioned this happens frequently . I hope the business owner can get the internet issue resolved since this will cause customers like myself to not return. 3. The coffee wasn't my favorite cup of coffee. I do respect the effort in being authentic, however I personally felt the coffee wasn't very potent in the drink - lavender latte and the rosebud latte. 4. I was expecting to find cute latte designs on top of my coffee foam since this is what is advertised on Yelp by the owner. However my latte was lacking this. Cute little spot with lots of free parking in the back! Pretty rare in Pasadena. Inside it shares space with a brewery (that opens at night after the coffee shop closes) which is why there was a lot of seating. Still crowded for a rainy day on a Tuesday during a weekday. There's outlets for seating along the walls, but not as many as you might think, so plan accordingly! The hojicha latte was great, not too sweet and you can taste the roasted tea flavor. I also enjoyed the ricotta and fig jam toast. I came here for a drawing date with a friend and I would come back to do the same again! read more

This place has somehow become my favorite spot for coffee. I love their rosebud salted mocha. Nothing super special about their drinks, just exceptionally well made. Their breakfast burritos are nice as well, the sauce I think is ***chef's kiss***. I have yet to try their pastries, but maybe next time. Parking lot is usually clutch for a spot, it's free, but I have had a time where it was full and I just parked on the street, wasn't a big deal (no meters). My fave coffee spot in Pasadena. There are always seats, and plenty of outlets for the low battery folks. Their matcha is solid, but nothing life changing. However, what's awesome is that they employ youth transitioning out of the foster system and trains them with skills. I'd much rather support that even if the food/drink isn't mindblowing. Come here in the evening/night for Wild Parrot Brewery! I remember talking to the owner once and his goal was to maximise this space for the community, from morning till night. Been here a few times to study and it is perfect ambience for working. You'll see a lot of people working here from morning until closing so it is a busy cafe. One sip of my latte was all it took to love Rosebud. Reading about their cause and story further sealed the deal for me. I appreciated that Rosebud doesn't charge extra for milk alternatives, unlike many other cafes. My honey latte w/ oat milk was beautifully poured. It's clear that the employees are dedicated to the craft. My latte art stayed intact for a long while after that first sip and I savored every last drop. Since I hadn't eaten all morning, I also opted for the Colorado Breakfast sandwich and wow, what a sleeper. It didn't look like much, but it was probably the best English muffin breakfast sandwich that I've ever had. I loved that the English muffin was buttered and toasted. From now on, every English muffin I consume must be buttered and toasted the way Rosebud does it. The Canadian bacon was inexplicably fragrant. I don't know what they did to it, but it tasted more savory than the Canadian bacon of my past. Lastly, I so appreciate that they use real, whole eggs! You can tell because there is a clear distinction between the egg white and yolk (instead of it all being one homogenous slab). Other pros: plenty of parking in the adjacent lot, restrooms, outlets for working and lots of seating. 2nd time at this location and I think I've made up my mind. We're not coming back. It's a coffee shop that wants to look modern and grand, but it's just a basic coffee shop. We tried the hot coffee and it was blah. We tried the latte and it was blah. The second time we visited, we ordered for "HERE" and one of us got a mug, while the other got a paper cup. Not really sure why we both didn't get mugs or both paper cups? On top of that, the person who attempted to do the art in the latte, HORRIBLE. Why bother? It's very clean and spacious here. I didn't like the rose latte (hot). It tasted burnt, but to be fair, I don't usually order rose lattes at other coffee shops, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I imagined it to be like vanilla latte w a hint of rose but it wasn't like that at all. The lavender latte sounded interesting too, I'd choose that if I were to go back. I didn't like the burrito either. When I read the description, it sounded amazing - made with eggs, bacon, tater tots, avocado, cheddar and cotija cheese. Cilantro creama and molcajete salsa on the side. The burrito turned out to be really dry (bc it was premade), majority potatoes, and included 2 very thin slices of bacon. You could barely see the bacon in my photo (and could barely taste it too). The bacon is the reddish brown thing at the bottom of the burrito in my picture. The burrito was premade and wrapped in foil so they just heat it up in the oven for you. For those who are sensitive with their foods being cooked with aluminum, skip this. Honestly, I feel it's misleading when they say the food is made in-house. I automatically think that it's made fresh, not that it's made in-house hours before, refrigerated, and then heated up later. It doesn't taste the same when food is prepared this way. And I heard one of the employees scolding another about how they should speak to customers and as a customer hearing that, it was uncomfortable and really killed the vibe. read more

Stumbled across this cute coffee shop to study but I didn't know they close so early! The inside is super spacious with outlets spotted! Will definitely come back to get in a study session in at an earlier time. Be sure to check their hours if you plan on camping here to get work done or just chill. The barista said their most popular drink is their lavender latte but unfortunately they ran out when I got there probably bc I got there like 10 min before closing. So I ordered the iced rose latte with oat milk (they use Oatly) and it was very delicious! My family and I drove all the way from Fountain Valley and walked in feeling very unwelcome from the start; the girl with dark brown hair took our order and looked at us with disgust, huffing and puffing, as if she didn't want to take our order or even be there. We were curious about certain menu items, and she responded with very short one-word replies, leaving us very upset and disappointed with our experience, especially after taking the first sip of our drinks, which were terrible. She kept giving us dirty looks as we were waiting for our drinks?? The beans were sour, with no hint of vanilla flavor. The matcha was extremely chalky; I requested that it be sweetened (she looked miserable modifying that for us too), but it was not. I'm very surprised this establishment has really high reviews, everything is so overpriced for the products they use and quality of it. If you don't like your job then maybe work somewhere else - I recommend going somewhere else with better service and coffee. My order at Starbucks is consistently Frappuccino's or teas that are similar to fruit juices. * I was recommended this cafe and was very happy I decided to come! There is very limited seating at the front of the store, but a very nice patio set-up with four tables in the back. Umbrellas are at every table and are big enough to provide ample shade . There is plenty of parking in the lot next to the patio. (wi-fi reaches to the outside but there are no available outlets here) * I ordered the regular latte, and was impressed by how easily the barista made the little leaf art. It was good, the flavor was not too bitter, and it also kept me awake and productive after a sleep deprived night. Bonus points because their cups are compostable and eco friendly! * It was a gorgeous day today when I went. Being next to a busy street was a bit of a concern, but the noise wasn't too bad. A great place to meet, hang out with your friends and catch up on life. They have spacious indoor sitting and out door patio for big group meetings. Rosebud serves great coffees and teas. The owner Dan told me that he trains each barista to differentiate each types of coffee by smell. This results in fantastic coffee in each cup. Not only coffee and teas are good here, the pastries are mesmerizing too. I loved their almond croissant where they added chocolate in the almond paste fillings resulting creamy and tasty croissant. They have a few of pastries on display which I don't recognize. I guess they invented their own. Besides coffee and pastries, Rosebud also has a microbrewery on site. But no beers served in the morning. So I didn't have a chance to taste their beer. We shall come back in an after to taste their beer. They do have plenty of parking in the back and on the street. Located in Pasadena, it's a perfect spot for working or studying, with a whole parking lot in the back, so no worries about finding parking. That alone deserves five stars! Ordered my go-to oat milk latte and it was amazing--subtle sweetness of oats without overpowering the coffee. Perfect combo! The space is spacious with plenty of outlets, and the atmosphere is great, with most people working. Wi-Fi password available at checkout. On a Sunday morning in mid November, my sister and I decided to check out this coffee shop. It is hidden by the trees and it's easy to miss it and it is before furniture store and pass the suntan place. We parked on the street and was nicely greeted. The line was a short line to order coffee or sugar bloom pastries. I ordered chocolate croissant and my sister ordered maple latte and chocolate croissant. Inside, there was few number of people with their laptops. Lots of small tables and long tables. Also they share space with Wild parrot brewery. My sister enjoyed the maple latte with taste of maple sauce. The croissant was flaky and the crevices of chocolate inside the pastry. Nice and relaxing coffee shop. read more
