This is one of my favorite places to get seafood in MA. My partner brought me here for the first time last month and we shared a seafood platter and ice cream. This visit I opted for a butter lobster roll (served with potato chips) and have no regrets. The roll was served with a generous helping of hot lobster with melted butter on a toasted bun, and satisfied my long craving for a lobster roll. Too good to be true. Want to take away one star for being seasonal, but I wont.. Huge giant lobster roll the size of my forearm (but I'm petite size so my scale is skewed). So fresh and delicious, not overly mayo'd, just perfection. Thank you I love you. The fried clams are pretty great too. Glad to have this restaurant in a town with nothing but Dunkin Donuts. We've always enjoyed coming to Rosewood for dinner or just ice cream. Great to see a locally owned business so popular in the community and employing local kids during their seasonal operations. Our most recent visit we again had great food and service, they were very busy and the crew of young kids working were really hustling. We ordered and ate inside and one thing was really disappointing - and that was the constant yelling and rudeness of the (manager or owner - not entirely sure) at the staff. He was non-stop barking orders, criticizing, and plain degrading to many of the staff members, without any cause that we could see. We have both worked in the food service industry for many years, and this was a new level of rude and inappropriate behavior. I give all these young kids credit for tolerating it- it was truly disgusting. I'll gladly tip the staff for their hard work, but our perception of Rosewood is now very different seeing and hearing what goes on behind the scenes. read more

Great place to enjoy ice cream at competitive prices ($2.60 for a junior/kids serving). This place has been around forever and a real local's spot (we even saw a Trans-Am in the parking lot!). Nice plus that they do have a lemon sorbet offering for anyone who is dairy-free. Would like to go back to try some of their food. read more

Food tastes good but the fried coating always falls off the scallops & onion rings are sometimes cut too thin. Expensive prices & they "nickel & dime you" by charging extra for each individual thing if, for example, you want a slice of tomato or onion, ranch dressing etc added to your sandwich. I read other Yelp reviews on this site by customers who had the same complaint about Rosewood charging extra for each sandwich topping, etc., so it's not just me who feels like they're getting "ripped off" by having to pay extra for 1 slice of tomato on their sandwich!!! They do a good business & always have a crowd so they must be raking in plenty of $$$ already & should not have to charge customers extra for every little thing!!!! read more

I had been hearing good things about Rosewood since moving to Bellingham. Sadly after visiting for the first (and last) time we were so disappointed with their ice cream and service we will not be back to try the seafood. We ordered 3 small ice creams and for $12 we got the equivalent of 1 normal sized ice cream cone. The girl taking the order slammed the window on my son 3 times when he tried to ask her a question. She would then reappear at a different window, we would go to that one then slam, she closed it in our faces. The ONLY reason we stayed and ordered was I had special needs kids with me who were looking forward to ice cream. The Cookie Monster ice cream lacked any cookies, it was nothing more than blue colored flavorless ice cream and my son threw it out. The Kaluha chip was tasty but not tasty enough for the price paid. First time coming here to try the ice cream and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered one scoop for $3.80 and it was HUGE! Definitely come here if you want to get a lot of ice cream for cheap. They had a large variety of flavors and toppings. My Cookie Monster ice cream didn't have many cookies in it, so I wouldn't recommend getting that flavor, but my family loved their choices. Service was fast and the workers were friendly. I will definitely be coming back here to try other flavors, and that means a lot since I work at an ice cream shop :) read more

The boyfriend and I only eat one thing when we go here (about once a month during open season) and it's the Seafood Plate. You get a bit of everything in this generous box of yummies. We always order all fries instead of the usual fries/onion rings combo you will get otherwise. Not that their onion rings aren't delicious. They just give you too many to consume in one sitting, and we'd rather binge on their delicious fries. The seafood is fried to perfection. You get haddock, clams, shrimp and the sweetest scallops this side of the Cape. One order is more than enough for two! At $18, it's also a perfect price to share. We've never had to wait when we call ahead. It's always ready ten minutes after we hang up the phone. Lemon slices are available on the counter. I usually skip the tartar sauce, but I like theirs when I have it. Their ice cream is delicious and the kids they have on staff are well trained and very polite. I have had their lemon sorbet (a creamy Italian Ice - so yummy), the pomagranate chip (great combo) and a lot of their regular ice cream flavors. The fro-yos are also very very good. But what beats all is their GIANT soft-serve cones. I recommend a layer of sprinkles on top. You won't be disappointed. read more

I've been eating at the Rosewood since I was a little kid!! Back before I could appreciate the allure of fried seafood, I was (and still am) a big fan of the burgers and of course the onion rings!! Those really make the meal. These days I usually get a clam plate, great portions, great taste, and well priced. After moving back home from a year of living down the street from Kelley's in Revere, I like the food just a little less, but I still eat here frequently. The ice cream is a must-have as well. The flavor selection is great, and I love the unique additions, like pomegranate chip and maple walnut. My tried and true friend however is the chocolate peanut butter ice cream which is very rich. The service here is always great and I love the outdoor seating. My only complaint is that it's not open year-round. read more

I was driving by this place and noticed "seafood" sign...so stopped in to try the fried clams. I got the clam roll and soda. It was good, nice size bellies and fresh, sweet tasting. Not like Kelly's where they taste "not so fresh". I will come back and try some of the other seafood offerings. Prices were reasonable, order at the counter and find a seat. A little hidden jewel. Cute little summer shack/ice cream spot. They're only open from spring to fall though (just found out that they closed last weekend, poo!). I didn't even get to try their pumpkin ice cream!! Argh!! Well, something to look forward to once the warm weather returns :) I hear they have many different flavors that are delicious. Don't worry if you don't instantly see the menu upon walking in. They're on the counter. Very wide selection from sandwiches to fried foods, this place has something for everyone. The young staff behind the counter are friendly and work hard. Such a shame! My family and I have been patrons of Rosewood for 20+ years, but I will NEVER return. I paid $22 for a box of French fries with 6 fried shrimp and 7 scallops on top. I was so disappointed that I went back in and spoke to the manager who told me that because I didn't get onion rings it looks like a lot less.....soooooo in other words the onion rings hide how little seafood you're actually getting! I moved to Bellingham very recently and my boyfriend suggested Rosewood because he grew up in Medway and LOVES it there. I was all excited about some fried seafood... but was greatly disappointed due to their tartar sauce that tastes EXACTLY like cinnamon. Now, I'm not chef or anything, but I generally don't like cinnamon with my fish (maybe that's just me). I even had the bf try it, he agreed, and we were both equally grossed out and couldn't finish our meals.. since then I've had a huge taste aversion to Rosewoods (so sad).. My partner and I stopped here fo lunch on the way home from a garden center. We ordered 2 lobster rolls ( light mayo pls) and although it was crowded we found a table and our lunch arrived quickly. The lobster rolls were outstanding. Fresh huge chunks of lobster. Very reasonably priced. The people next to us were raving about the fried fish plate. I got the buttered lobster roll for $20.50, had a good amount of tail and claw meat but it was finely shredded so no big chunks here. The meat didn't have much flavor even with the butter poured all over it. It was "just OK". My fiancé got the fried fish sandwich and it was served plain, not even a leaf of lettuce. Again it was ok. I've been wanting to try this place for a while but won't be coming back for any dinner items. May stop for an ice cream though. read more

I don't get this place. This is not good fried seafood. And unfortunately there is no good fried seafood anywhere near here. We ordered take out for myself, my husband, and two kids. We got a clam chowder, fried clams, fried scallops, fried fish, and chicken fingers. The clam chowder was pretty good. We all liked it. The fried clams were the best of the seafood we ordered but definitely not the best I've ever had. The fried scallops were somewhat tough and the batter was a very light yellow, not the golden brown it should be. It was no where near crispy and fell off all of the scallops. Same could be said for the fish. It was flaky but not very light and had the same disappointing batter as the scallops. The chicken fingers were ok but were obviously frozen. I ordered from this place about five years ago and remember not liking it and feeling ripped off for the price. I was craving fried seafood and was hoping my original impression was just a fluke. Unfortunately I was wrong. Will probably not order from this place again. read more

Good neighborhood staple. Was visiting Milford for a wedding and was berry happy with the seafood chowda', onion rings, lobster roll with toasted buttered bread, and buffalo tenders. I saw some other people order the fish and chips and seafood platters and they looked like monstrous towers of fried seafood on top of a large mound of onion rings and french fries. This review is only for the ice cream as I have never tried their food, but for those who do get the food you must get some ice cream for dessert afterwards as well! In the summer time Rosewood's ice cream is our go-to spot. So many flavors to choose from and they are all so good. Some of my favorites are the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough, moose tracks, and graham central station. The staff is always very friendly and the ice cream comes out of the window very fast and very cold. Great size options and very fair pricing. I always seem to find myself leaving with a few quarts just because I can't help myself! For ice cream in the Bellingham/Franklin area you can't beat Rosewood's. read more

$20 for a skimpy lobster roll. a young girl took our order of 4 lobster rolls and a large onion ring, and we didn't receive the onion rings. No biggy, we go inside and ask for our onion rings and another young girl (w the apparent owner next to her) says "you never ordered onion rings, but we can make them if you pay for them." I just paid $95 for inadequate lobster rolls AND bad service. Not accommodating at all, and the food wasn't even good. Never coming here again. Also there's no registers, so the employees used calculators and wrote orders up for the kitchen. With this faulty and mistake inclined system, they should be more accommodating and have better service. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

Took my son and father here today. . We ordered kids hamburger meal, lobster roll and a clamplate dinner with a bottle of water. First we got a plastic cup of water. That was the first mistake because we were charged for a bottle.. The total was $53.00 The lobster roll was average size and was soggy with no chunks of meat. The clam plate had 7 to 8 clams on it with a huge pile of onion rings. They must order a container of clams in the beginning of the season and have some left at the end of the season because it was nothing but a big ripoff togo there. None of the workers came out so I ended up deciding to leave. If I could see the workers behind the kitchen window someone should have been able to see me. I've been there a few times. Two times being specific to getting ice cream and I arrived around 8:45pm and the first time I arrived I ordered my ice cream and asked for rainbow sprinkles and it took the girls behind the counter a few minutes to get my plain ice cream and it came back with no sprinkles and I told the girl that I asked for them and she told me the sprinkles were closed and I could see over the counter that it just had a lid on them. I was very mad about how lazy they are and the second time I went a girl came up to the window and said someone will be right with you and I waited there at the window for 15 minutes and another girl came up and said they were closed. Very terrible business planning. I will go to rosewood again to give them another shot but if I get screwed again I will let the manager/owner know. read more

I have been a customer for over 10 years and have previously enjoyed the seafood and ice cream. The ice cream is good and window service good for the number of people being served, The price for seafood is a bit too much and something has changed with the batter or the oil used for cooking. The batter falls off of the haddock and scallops as well as the onion rings. The clams are fine. I will still go there for ice cream, but probably skip seafood in the future. read more

I've lived in the Boston area my whole life (I'm 47), I absolutely love fried seafood, and I've tried whole belly clams all over the state. I've never had any better than Rosewoods. I'll usually bring one of my kids here and we'll share the fisherman's platter/seafood plate, whatever it's called. It's absolutely huge, even my teenage son and I don't finish the whole thing, so don't order that plate/platter thing by yourself unless you're a total glutton or you like leftover fried seafood. This place is an ice cream stand that happens to sell fantastic seafood, so it might not be the kind of place you bring a date to. Oh, and it's probably closed for the winter as I write this.
