Pretty good non-nonsense 24-7 cafe. We had a three-day conference at the Nugget Resort Hotel and ended up getting a lot of meals here. Food was pretty good, and service was friendly and reasonably fast except for one of our lunches at 12pm. It's a pricey for what it is - no entrees under $16 if I remember right - and the quality is nothing to write home about. But not bad. The fries are good! Asian chicken wraps fell apart on me lol. Flavor was good but not great. The prime rib sandwich was good, though the prime rib sliders had just as much meat, if not more - and they were $3 cheaper. But if you like fries and you like bread, the prime rib sandwich will get you both. The $7 hash brown and eggs special after 11 p.m. was definitely worth it, though! Not going to lie, the Yelp rating for this place had me a little concerned. But you know what? Sometimes, when you're super hungry, and your original plans fall apart, you gotta pivot to Plan B. This was our Plan B, and much to my relief, it did not disappoint. I ordered the 12oz ribeye steak, which came with mash potatoes and veggies (string beans, onions, and peppers). The steak, which I ordered medium rare, was very tasty. It was tender, fatty, and juicy - everything you would want from a steak. It had a nice smoky flavor too. The service was pretty average. Our server did the bare minimum. However, the food came out very quickly, which was the most important thing for me since, as I said before, I was hungry. To think, we weren't even planning to dine here. The original plan was to try out Anthony's Chophouse. However, the wait time to be seated over there was excessively long. I went to Rosie's pretty late at 12:00am. As the only people in the place the service was terrible, I ordered a Michelada and on the menu it says a modelo, with lime, tomato recipe and tajin and instead I got a Heineken, and a salt rim, like what the hell is that. I then asked for a modelo and she walked away frustrated and grabbed a modelo, the others at the table asked for twice Bloody Marys and a coffee, we then never got the coffee until we had to ask for it again after our food got here, mind you we are the only people in the restaurant the only people no online orders to my knowledge and the only table with 1 server. We got our food which was mid lowkey, it was just a jumbled mess of eggs, sausage, and hash brown, we expected it on the side but that's on us , for not asking about it. The Michelada was more like a Bloody Mary with beer which is gross not a proper Michelada. This is the late night menu with a terrible server, I would preferred Denny's at a busy night we would still get more attention there than here. Mind you the ONLY people there is no other tables and it was a mid experience, terrible service and mid food. We always came here for dinner every thanksgiving and I am the most disappointed this time and we probably won't be back im disappointed. read more

While staying at the Nugget, I stopped in for dinner here because it is open late and I didn't want to drive anywhere. Service is simply terrible, and it appears that people there hate their jobs. They are in fact open 24/7 again, except the first Tuesday of every month for a super deep clean of their restaurant. We went to the Nugget in Sparks for the FIRST TIME since the ownership change on March 25th, 2024, and we literally did not know what to expect. We really wanted to visit the Steakhouse where they served DELICIOUS steak sandwiches. Alas, the Steakhouse is no more, nor is the little coffeeshop at the front. Oyster Bar is still there, as is Rosie's Cafe, so we went to Rosie's ( 3:00 in the afternoon). Rosie's is exactly as we remembered, warm and comfortable. Linda was our server, and she was simply wonderful. Friendly, helpful and so personable. The food was very good, and the service was great. First and foremost our server, Camisha was excellent! She was a comedian, kind, fast, organized and remembered everyone's order. We had a large group of 20+. She was able to split the bill with no problem. She was the highlight of our visit. The food wasn't bad either. Diner worthy. My monte Cristo sandwich was deep fried and tasty. Other items ordered were the chicken Parmesan, fried chicken, spaghetti, BLTA, chicken Alfredo, and more. The only complaint was about the Alfredo. I have to agree as I took a bite and it just didn't taste right. We all had a good laugh when the wine was served and came in plastic cups and one had a straw. I'm sure it was to identify which was cab or merlot. Someone ordered croutons to munch on. That was also a treat and we giggled over the specific appetizer that everyone wanted a bite of. I had a all-around horrible experience at the nugget which I had booked because it supposedly had a 24 hour restaurant and my first night I'm starving and they are steam cleaning the restaurant. I had to walk around late at night on streets with really sketchy folks on drugs on the streets looking for something finally had to come back and get Uber eats. I'll never stay here again or eat there. Locals tell me you'll get sick. 25 years of Burning Man for me coming back and staying in Reno and I will be telling my tens of thousands of friends never at the nugget. So I went to a place where I had to pay a resort fee even though I stayed in the casino tower and had a room where heating or air conditioning came out the same temperature and no matter what and there was a lot of black mold in the bathroom. I had to make a big deal to get them to do something for me and the most they were willing to do was waive the resort fee for the first of the two nights and no comp despite going there specifically since they had a 24 hour restaurant and I could save money and have my safety. Did I walked around hurt my body and then got treated very poorly by Management to rectify the situation. Oh and then they did move me to another room that was actually smaller than the one I paid for and the AC and heat were still complete crap. read more

Carved turkey club sandwich! If you love club sandwiches, then you need to stop in here when in Reno, Nevada. The keyword is carved turkey, I don't care for sliced turkey! This sandwich was one of the best! An abundance of carved turkey, so much that I had to place the chunks of turkey back in the sandwich because it kept falling out. This place is located in the nugget casino. You may feel put off as you enter and are in the casino because it is very much dated, but the restaurant is nice. The decor is early east coast with brick walls, coffered ceilings with crown molding, and bronze chandelier lighting. A very pleasant atmosphere. Back to the sandwich, I prefer mine without the center slice of bread, sourdough is my go to. And pay the extra for the avocado. Layers of bacon and I went with the onion rings-I was not disappointed. Lightly fried and not soggy yet thick and deliciously breaded. I have a few more days here so I intend on having this dish again! read more

The two waitresses I had were both very kind and polite. I unfortunately didn't catch their names but they were both amazing!!! The restaurant was a very nice and relaxing place with soothing music playing and a beautiful old fashioned style that I'm a huge fan of! The seats were very comfortable to sit at as well! I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs for dinner and the Double Fudge Chocolate Cake for desert! The Spaghetti was insanely delicious! The noodles were delicious and well sauced, the meatballs were okay, not quite as tasty for me, but they weren't bad, and the supporting bread only added to the experience! I would absolutely order this again! The chocolate cake was nice and chocolatey. I took it back to my room to enjoy later and it was well worth the wait, a nice and delicious treat to end the day with! An amazing trip that I would definitely do again! We come here often. Living in Vegas, we are often staying at the Nugget when in Sparks. If you stop by, ask for Megan. She is a dedicated and creative waitress who understands the finer points of the menu and how you want to enjoy your meal. She's savvy and the cafe is smart to keep her! Rosie's has gone downhill since Covid. Anyway Covid is over and they just keep getting worse. Since I was alone I decided to have an early dinner. My burger was raw. Waitress actually brought it to my attention. She took it back and I don't know if they cooked a new patty or put the two halves on the griddle. I asked for my fries crispy and they weren't. I was hungry so I ate. I needed to kill some time in the morning before leaving so I went back to Rosie's. I was standing for a while waiting to be seated. I saw a lady having coffee and talking to one of the cooks. They both looked over a few times. I guess her coffee and conversation was more important than customers. I found out she was manager/host. When she finally came over she tells me that the only available seats were at the counter. I don't like the counter. The place was 90% empty. If they can't staff properly then they should just close. Rosies used to be a classic stop when visiting The Nugget. After this last visit, I will not be returning & advise all to do the same. The service is just fine but the food is the worst. The last time I was here (a year ago), the food quality was just okay but it has now worsened. I ordered a breakfast sandwich & only had a few bites. The first bite I took tasted like a mouthful of grease. It felt like the bread was soaked over the bacon fat, it made me feel sick & I regret not mentioning it to the server. Really, if the bread would have been toasted, all would have been fine but it was too greasy! The French toast was mediocre, barely had any flavor & the strawberries were looking old. I was more disappointed in the serving size. Usually breakfasts are cheap and so you can give a decent portion of food. I guess inflation really got to this place? My corn beef hash was little corned beef, more onions and potatoes. Thankfully my pretoddler wasn't as hungry as usual otherwise he could have eaten half of my plate himself. Our first lunch in Sparks on our 2022 road trip to Reno was here. Previously frozen Potstickers were small, overly crispy, and shriveled. But served with a biting Sweet Chili Sauce, they still tasted pretty good. And my BLTA on Sourdough was quite tasty, with lots of crisp bacon and crunchy, deep-fried Tater Tots. Creamy Coleslaw was very good, and Diane enjoyed her order of Fish & Chips. Booth seating was comfortable. Service by (most) the staff is excellent. However, quality of the food lacks. Upon dining here for breakfast we found a very long hair in our pancakes. But no biggie, we send it back and they give us a new one. Problem solved, albeit a little uncomfortable feeling. However the staff were apologetic and showed no trouble. The mashed potatoes I had were served with a fry on it(I had no idea how that happened) and some of the parts were very stiff. Mashed potatoes should really be soft all throughout. When I went up to pay I had a lady rush me a little saying with an attitude "well first of all you have to give me the receipt."
