First, bartenders were awesome and made up for not best, very salty, meal and x treme heat for any indoor restaurant. Beet Salad was very good! There is zero reason to keep that restaurant open until air condition is fixed. It was miserable, but noone wants to be the squeaky wheel in a group out to dinner, and even if one will, the ordering has already started before u realize its almost as hot inside as out, and less humid outside than inside. I had a headache by the time we cud get out. I read about issue in older reviews and never thought for a minute it was still out...my bad. Call before u go. Excellent staff and service! Matteo took time and was soooo congenial and a pleasure to chat with. Plus, he's originally from Italy and it added some authenticity. Food was fantastic! We just had lunch at Rosso Italian and it was just like being in italy! We are born and raised in Bologna, the italian capital of food, and everything we had at Rosso (focaccia, pizza margherita, calamari fritti, fusilloni rosso and gramigna boscaiola) reminded us of home! Our server Fabio was very kind, personable and understating our our requests. Lovely anniversary dinner at Rosso's. Server was friendly and very attentive with reasonable number of menu offerings (though not as many as listed on the website - I was looking forward to the branzino, which was not offered!) The beet salad was excellent, the gnocchi were also excellent. The salmon was very good, although peppercorns in the fregola sarda AND pink peppercorn sauce was a bit overly peppery. Server offered a complimentary dessert when he found out it was out anniversary, which we unfortunately had to decline. Ambiance is definitely young/hip, but we didnt feel especially out of place as old folks. WOuld definitely return read more

We came here for dinner our reservation was at 7:00pm. We got seated on time, no server greeted us for 30 minutes. I approached one of which seemed to be a floor manager and told her the situation and she came and took our order immediately. Our appetizer came the same time as our entrees. Our waters didn't get filled from the second we sat down until we left. I finally decided to talk to someone in a button up and told him the situation. He explained that there was a shortage in staff and difficulties with their serving. Shoutout to the guy in the button up Julio for salvaging our dinner with a good ending and dessert. We were a bit underwhelmed. While the location is nice in a very busy area of downtown near the arena, it was very crowded. We sat outside. FIrst, thought it was very tight seating with many tables very close together. Service was fast. Fast also to take away plates and clear the table as well. Seemed a little rushed to turn over the tables to us. We had a couple of entrees of homemade pasta. It did not seem like the fresh kind of homemade, more like the dry kind. They were good dishes and also very small portions for the $19 plates compared to what most Italian restaurants would offer. Manga! Also, no bread if offered. We had to pay extra for a small plate of sliced grilled Italian bread. So keep this in mind, it's not really what you might expect. The food was tasty, albeit small. Get an app or salad if you are hungry. We thought it was basically catering to tourists, eventgoers, and those at conventions, not locals. Who would go further out of downtown for a better deal an atmosphere. read more

This is like a step down from Pomo Pizzeria. Nothing bad, nothing great, just disappointing given the hype. I miss real Italian food, unfortunately Phoenix is not a bastion of real ethnic cuisine. What was supposed to be pasta with salmon turned into pasta with shrimp. The salad was ok, no bread & olive oil offered unless you order the focaccia , so if you want a small slide of bread you're out of luck.
