We really love Rosso. The decor is kind of funky and cool, with a tufted vinyl wall and cool mural on an exposed brick wall. There is a bar in one room, a dining room with tables, banquettes, and booths, and a really nice patio in front. We had reservations, and the host took us directly to our table after asking what our preference for seating was. I would suggest getting reservations, because there were people waiting who didn't have reservations. Our server was delightful. She was very helpful and offered suggestions when I couldn't make up my mind. The cocktails and food were delicious. I think that they have one of the best red sauces on their meatballs that I've ever had. My only complaint was that it was very hot in the dining room. I did eventually mention it to the server who agreed it was very hot and said she would see what she could do, but soon after that we left. It might just be this weird time of year - - who is expecting it to be in the 90s this time of year?

We went into Rosso Italian on a Friday night and were able to get seating at the bar. We ordered meatballs and the ricotta honey appetizer and the ricotta honey was sooo good! I would definitely come back just for that. Our pasta orders were great as well, not sure if it was me that day but my linguine carettiera pasta was pretty spicy. While service was mostly great, my drink went without getting refilled the entire time I was there which I feel is a pretty standard part of service.

We decided to stop here while walking in downtown phoenix. We got the macheroni al forno and the fussiloni rosso and the grilled focaccia. I thought the macheroni was very good and came out very hot! It was a pasta I would definitely get again. The fussiloni was just decent, the sauce wasn't very flavorful and just lacked for me. We got the focaccia with fresh pesto and that was also delicious and would recommend getting that with the pasta. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. It was a suns vs lakers game that day so it was started to get packed and I would go early if there are any other game days.

What caught my eye specifically at Rosso Italian was the daily housemade pasta using imported "00" Italian flour. So I had to try it. I opted for the Papparadelle Short Rib and it was tasty but I was expecting a softer, squishier pasta given the menu description. I really enjoyed the wedge salad and eggplant Parmigiana - it did not appear breaded. I was torn between trying the tiramisu or cannoli and opted for the tiramisu because the hostess described it as light and said it was her favorite. I agree that it was light and it did taste good. My personal preference is something a little wetter/soggier with more espresso forward flavor. The servers were polite and attentive. We sat on the patio because it was a lovely afternoon. I would happily return and try some other menu items, especially the seasonal offerings!

Rosso Italian was such a pleasant surprise. We went in with no expectations and were genuinely impressed--everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. It's one of those places you don't realize you'll love until you're already planning your return. The vodka pasta was a standout: light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I almost never finish pasta dishes, but I cleaned my plate without hesitation. The appetizer was just as memorable--the bread and cheese were to die for and set the tone for the whole meal. If I'd had more time, this is another spot I would've gone back to. A fantastic Italian find tucked away near the convention center--definitely worth seeking out. Highly recommend!

Googled Italian restaurants near my hotel and this restaurant came up. Didn't make reservations, but was able to grab a seat at the bar. The bartender was attentive the whole time I was there. Food and atmosphere were great.

First time checking out Rosso Italian and I'm already planning a return trip. The place has a really cool vibe - modern décor with pops of red (my favorite color), which definitely adds to the atmosphere. We came in for a pre-show dinner and drinks after hearing friends rave about the Blueberry Espresso Martini and the Burratella pizza - both totally lived up to the hype. That martini? Dangerous in the best way. We planned on just one, but after the first sip it was clear there'd be a round two. Who knew blueberry and espresso could be such a perfect combo? We started with the Zucchini Chips - light, crispy, and so addictive we finished them way too fast. Then came the Burratella pizza, which was absolute perfection: thin crust, great flavor, and just the right amount of chew. Our waitress was friendly and kind, but service overall was on the slower side - especially considering there were only a few other tables when we arrived. Nothing major, just noticeable. All in all, loved the food, drinks, and ambiance. Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu (and probably have another Blueberry Espresso Martini).

Incredible food. Service & atmosphere. Cooper was our server. He was incredibly nice & attentive & patient while we took a while to decide what to eat. This is a cute little Italian spot in downtown- reservations made & sat instantly! We started with a few appetizers and main dishes - whipped ricotta and honey (my favorite all night) - baked focaccia with pesto - delicious pesto sauce. - Parmesan fries with aioli- the fries were cooked to perfection. For the main dishes we had fusilloni rosso (vodka sauce) AMAZING TASTE. I want it immediately. (Cooper's suggestion!!) w a side of meatballs & a shrimp Caesar salad Finished with the cheesecake and this was easily one of my favorite meals. I can't wait to return! Mediocre at best. I think there are many other places with better Italian food in the Phoenix area. I think it's a bit over priced for the flavor as well. Everything was plated nicely though! It's a cute little place downtown with good service, but one thing about downtown is that there will be difficulty parking.

I liked: Melon and Prosciutto Gnocchi Tirolese Burratella Pizza This was ok: Creme brulee I started with the melon and prosciutto, which was a refreshing bite. The sweetness of the melon cut nicely through the sharpness of the prosciutto, and the pairing worked surprisingly well together. The gnocchi Tirolese was enjoyable, made with vegetables and lighter than I expected. That said, the portion felt on the smaller side for an entrée, so I'd probably pair it with something else to make a full meal. The Burratella pizza came out with a bit of a kick, slightly spicy with a smoky crust. I wasn't a fan of the chili threads, but otherwise it was a solid pizza and a good shareable size. For dessert, I tried the crème brûlée, which unfortunately didn't land for me. It wasn't very firm, some parts were a little burnt, and it leaned more sour than creamy-sweet. The space itself is modern and inviting, though when I went the AC was off and they had fans running instead. It was a little warm but manageable. Service was excellent, attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the meal.

Initially reserved for in restaurant dine in but ending up placing an uber eats order to go. When I got there, they seemed annoyed that I changed it even though not much rush in the restaurant. They also had a major delay in my order and didn't seem to want to help me get my order from the kitchen. When my order finally came, I looked at the food and it genuinely seemed like something I'd be able to cook myself. The sauce barely had much taste and the pasta was missing mushrooms that they said would be there? I am so confused. And this was $23. Not the worst food in Arizona as it was edible but not the best.

pretty good italian place in downtown phoenix! lots of choices of classic italian fare with some fun twists. great vibe and fun lighting, but service itself was pretty bad - the waiter forgot about our orders, and brought out drinks after a long time, but food came out early enough. the short rib papardelle is pretty good, and all the pastas are noticably homemade, with a great texture. the pasta itself was too salty without any noticable flavor other than the meat itself. the seafood pasta was a bit bland without much seafood flavor, but the pasta itself was good. the wedge salad was pretty standard, and the brussel sprouts too, but also too salty and oily, while i prefer them more sweet and acidic. the zuchinni chip pasta was pretty good though. the most memorable was the dessert, which was a hazelnut bready dessert that was limited edition - it was really fun and rich, with a wonderful variety of textures.

I have to say I was just not impressed with this place. The food was average at best. I grew up in NY and frequently visited hole in the wall establishments throughout Little Italy and this place just wouldn't match up with any of them. The portions for the price were just too small. You can't charge NY or San Francisco prices with mediocre taste and portions this size. Our waitress didn't help matters by not knowing anything on the menu or being able to answer any questions about the food. They also charged almost $30 for a specialty drink that came with an ornament, but they ran out of the ornaments and neglected to even mention we couldn't get one....:oh and yeah there's no discount even though we can't give you everything we are charging you for. I'd love to give this place one star but I could see myself hitting up the bar for a drink to just and I mean just to soak in the ambiance. read more

I ate here about a year ago and found the food rather lackluster so I decided to give it another chance. This time it was the service that was abysmal. First, there was no hostess. The poor lady who apparently was the bartender appeared to also be acting as a waitress (one of only two, I think) and the hostess so when she freed up we were finally seated. We were ignored between the time our orders were taken and when the food came out, our orders were messed up, there were no drink refills until we'd finished our meals, and we weren't even given the courtesy of an automatic comp on the side that came out after our meals were finished. The food was fine but if you go in and it appears they're short staffed you should leave because the food isn't good enough to have to deal with the issues we did. read more

Excellent! The focaccia bread and carpaccio to start were absolutely delicious (and we are pretty picky when it comes to these two things!) In town for a trade show, found this place on YELP, not very impressed with the restaurant. We sat outside, marble walls of resturant were extremely dirty as well as the outside eating area was overall filthy. Not impressed with the portions of food served. Our waitress was great and the hostess was very nice. We asked a male waiter to come over to the table and he Baid yelled across the outside area and did not come over to our table. My husband and I stopped in here on our last night in Phoenix. Maybe we are use to NJ/NY-sized portions, but the food was WAY over priced for the small portions we were served. We have been a few times and the service is great, complimented by the food. The first time we went, we were a little mixed with our experience, but my wife went back once when I was out of town and the restaurant fully recovered. We went back when I returned, sat on the patio, and the whole experience was amazing. Rosso's is definitely a Phoenix favorite of ours. If you're looking for some great drinks and really good italian food before a night out, this is a great place! We went last night for dinner and Fabio was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful. Probably the best service I have had at a restaurant. He was very kind and attentive, let us go at our own pace, made sure our drinks were never empty, and we were being cared for. I've had him as a waiter here before and every single time he's been amazing so I had to give him a little shoutout. Love this place and Fabio! read more

This place has great reviews but we thought the food was just okay, the service rushed, and the ambiance loud and not conducive for a pleasant dining experience. Perhaps are expectations were too high, but there are better Italian restaurants than this place, Forno 301 being one of them. Both have similar price points and vibe, but the food at Forno 301 is far superior. read more

Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.

The spring rolls were delicious, fresh, and the peanut sauce on the side gave it a good touch. The egg rolls were hot and crispy. The pork fried rice was flavorful and more then enough for us three to share. The pho's were both really good. The broth was served hot, had really good flavor, and was served with a lot of noodles and meat. Service was good. They had people going around picking up plates as we were done with hem. The inside is small but welcoming. We had a great time!

IMPRESSIVE! Rosso Italian Manager, Donna, went above and beyond to make my husband and I feel comfortable, satisfied, and feeling extremely stuffed, after a minor mishap on a previous visit. Talk about an outstanding manager with exceptional communication and problem solving skills. She identified when our situation deviate from the norm, and rather than brushing it off like most routinely would, she tentatively focus her energy on us and created a targeted, high-impact solution. Donna "wowed" us with an exemplary experience that leaves us highly motivated to be a forever loyal customer. We will frequent this establishment anytime we attend a game, concert, function, event, or anything for that matter at the near by stadiums. Don't wast your money! Terrible food and service! Over priced. We went there for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday and I had made reservations. We got there early but were seated right away as the place was empty. The place is dark and hot. no air conditioning. The pasta looked and tasted like hamburger helper. This is not authentic pasta. Server did not pay attention to our needs. We ran our do water twice waited and waited for refills when she did refills she didn't give us any ice . We got the Maccheroni Al Forno (Mac and tomato sauce). And the Tagliatelle Short Rib (hamburger helper). Walked out paying $95 which I wouldn't mind if the food was good and the service but it was terrible! It's been a long time since I've had good italian food in a restaurant! They make the pasta fresh everyday so that is what i was interested in. I had the gnocchi tirolese which was absolutely fantastic. Forgot to mention we had the meatballs for an appetizer. They were very good, but they didn't bring out any bread until we asked to use up the rest of that red sauce. I had the cannolli for a dessert which were the mini ones. They were pretty good as well, just wish it was a big one with a ton of filling. They had a pretty cool theme going there, however, it seems they were having AC issues and only had some spot coolers around. I would definitely recommend this place, it was fantastic. We visited this restaurant hoping for a good meal, but unfortunately, it fell far below expectations. The dining area was uncomfortably hot, with portable AC units doing little to cool the space. Everyone at our table was disappointed with the food--it was far from what we'd expect from authentic Italian cuisine, possibly the worst we've ever had. Service was also lacking. Our waiter only checked on us once the entire time, never offered to refill our water or see if we wanted additional drinks. If you're visiting downtown Phoenix, I'd recommend skipping this place. Unfortunately, my experience at Rosso was disappointing. We were seated outside and quickly approached for our order, but the food arrived within minutes -- undercooked and chewy. The server dropped the check without checking on us and had a poor attitude, grabbing plates so abruptly they nearly fell. To make matters worse, an item we had sent back for not being fresh still appeared on the bill. Location and ambience are top notch for sister's of Pomo but food and service not pairing. Chef needed in the kitchen for flavorless dishes and small amount food . Build good menu and training front the house is must for successful restaurant . Invest money in prime location and nice ambience isn't everything. How hard would it be to have a quieter area or make a speaker accessible with volume control? People, whether on the spectrum, with hearing impairments, or just lovers of good conversation deserve respect and when it is not given, will go elsewhere....

Our own personal sommelier I'm on a mission to find these bottles. We were so lucky to have gotten him. Although we initially came for the four course menu, they shared they offered other options including an omakase option (it's chef's choice that will take you through the menu with options for each area of it) and it was the best $150 pp choice we've made!! I ordered a Jacy's Burger, which came with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheddar, and a Hawaiian bun. It also came with French fries. The fries were tasty and hot, while the burger was delicious and big, though it was messy as the lettuce kept falling out of the burger. They honored an ASU 20% discount, which was great! While I stuck with a burger this time, I would love to go back to try their Jacy & Dakota Wings or even their tacos. Jacy & Dakota's is considered to be a modern American restaurant with cuisine inspired by traditional dishes and seasonally fresh ingredients. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and their patio is dog-friendly. They offer complimentary 2 hour valet validation and free Wi-Fi. They are open for breakfast on weekdays from 6 AM to 11 AM, brunch on weekends from 7 AM to 2 PM, and then all day on weekdays from 11 AM to 10 PM and weekends from 2 PM to 10 PM. They also have a Happy Hour menu from 4-6 PM and Late Night menu from 10 PM to 11 PM daily.
