DON'T DO IT! If you're scheduling for a business meeting, you will NOT get your food. This place will leave you QUITE upset... I couldn't, in any way, suggest Roti. I ordered food for a business meeting (8 people) through Grubhub on June 22, 2023, and it was scheduled to be delivered on June 28, 2023, at 11:30am. Almost shortly after it was arranged, I got an email stating the order was scheduled. At 10:08am June 28, 2023 I contacted the restaurant because I hadn't received a confirmation email from them. They told me that they didn't have anything in their system and told me to contact Grubhub. When I spoke with Grubhub, they told me that Roti didn't open until 11 (yes, the same restaurant I just spoke with) and they probably wouldn't confirm until the restaurant opened. I called Grubhub again around 11 and they attempted to contact Roti but came back to the line quickly and said that no one at the restaurant was answering. At 11:17am, I received an email telling me that Roti confirmed the order. Grubhub stated that they were going to get the order to me by 11:45am. At 11:55am, I called Grubhub back to find out where the order was... I called the person the meeting was for to alert them that the order was late. Suddenly, I receive an email from Grubhub... (as I'm currently on the phone with the customer service agent) to tell me the order was canceled. The agent tells me that reason the order was cancelled is "because the order was so late." The agent contact's Roti again and the restaurant states that they couldn't deliver it because it's out of their delivery range... my office... is 0.48 miles... from this restaurant. Not to mention... the restaurant can set the delivery distance. At 12:45pm, a driver comes in seemingly annoyed (no seriously HE was mad... imagine). I asked him who he was from... he tells me he's delivering the food I ordered... I asked for which one (I had ordered from someone else because my order was cancelled) he tells me it's for Roti. He hands off the bag and walks out... So again... if you're having a business meeting for your firm/company, you should make this your very LAST resort (just tell the people to go get their own food because that's probably less of a headache than using this place). #justtryingtohelp read more

I became obsessed with this place! Someone needs to open one in Philly/South NJ. It has the same concept as like Chipotle but with Mediterranean food so you can customize a plate, salad, pita sandwich or Laffa wrap. And they have great drinks to go along like hibiscus tea. I went here for lunch one day(I typically pick my lunch everyday). Since I'm on a sort of a diet right now I decided to try this place out. I got a rice plate with chicken, kale& corn, couscous, mixed veggies and tomato/cucumber, a little feta and their take on tzatziki sauce. The first couple bites were amazing and then the taste just went away. It was good but not something I could finish. Maybe I'll try a different combination next time. Their bar is filled with fresh ingredients from vegetables, Mediterranean salads, hummus, tzatziki, and more. After choosing your base you then choose your protein option, like chicken, lamb, or other options like tofu. Then you add as many toppings as you'd like. The food was great! My salad bowl with chicken kebon was filling and every component I added had great flavor. The falafel is also very good! Definitely worth adding a side of those to your meal. This place is perfect if you're on the go or just need to grab a fast and healthy bit to eat in between sight seeing. If I ever come back to DC, this is a place where I will go back to. At first thinking of what to write for this review, I couldn't really find the words to describe this place. Lets just say, I'm addicted. During lunch, and downtown in D.C. this place was busy. Packed. All of the above. Roti can only be found in only a few cities so it's definitely a place to check out if you're in town. If you ever had a mission style burrito from Chipotle or where it was created, and will always be in my thoughts as the best, Taqueria La Cumbre (and for some reason I can't find the review....or I never wrote it because I just started using yelp..) Roti takes on their style of burrito. Except, it's full of mediterranean goodness. Note, this is only for the Steak Laffa Wrap as I thought it was the easiest to handle due to the time we had for lunch and that it was easy to eat outside on the benches considering that the restaurant itself was extremely packed. So, what did I get? I got a Steak Laffa Wrap with onions, tomatoes/cucumbers, hummus, light sauce, olives, and couscous. And what came after that, was pure ecstasy and full of flavor with every bite. I was thinking hummus wasn't going to go with it well, but surprisingly it completely blew my tastebuds away. Oh, only if I did live near here I would definitely be back for more. Great food, great service, and great variety. The speed is great too, and many of their patrons are those who work downtown and have a short lunch hour, so speed is key. I've ordered only the side of hummus and the chicken kabob plate, but they are both the best I've had for the price (around $3 for the hummus and $8 for the chicken kabob plate). The chicken kabobs are made-to-order so sometimes there is a wait. If there is, they are generous enough to give you a free soda cup on the house. The only thing I regret is sometimes they don't give you enough meat, and I have to order double chicken, which is $2 more but worth it, I think, to have a complete meal and full stomach. DOWNLOAD THE APP! Remember to download the free app and get a side of hummus or falafel for free just for downloading. You have to take a snapshot of your receipt to accumulate points (which is annoying because it's not automated) but it's a great idea if you're a frequent diner. read more

I think that the operations could use some work and the food definitely could be more fresh - but it's still a decent lunch option. Most of the time, the employees ask you what toppings you want on your platter/sandwich when you're too far away from the employees to see the topping options. What's not to love about this Chipotle style Mediterranean eatery? They have a range of options to choose from; sandwiches, rice platters and salads. My go-to was always the rice plate which also comes with a warm pita (which is quite delicious as opposed to some meditteranean places). You can choose from meat options like chicken roti (shawerma style meat), chicken kabob, salmon kabob and falafels (veggie option to sub in). They also offer desserts like cookies and baklava. Whoa, this is like pure deliciousness!! I have never hear of this place before & when I saw it I decided to check it out & so glad I did. Which works out since usually Mediterranean food is a pretty appetizing for us vegheads. It is always a good sign to be able to get vegan options. So I was craving something a bit different.. I'd give this place 3 or 4 stars except the service from some was less than stellar. I went there yesterday during the lunch rush. They do sort of have a similar chipolte assembly line approach. I placed my order which was the platter with chicken with the first person who was nice, who then passed it along to the next person who promptly gave her back the tray and then left the assembly line. This where things went wrong. They then tried to give me the wrong order, which was salad instead of the platter I ordered. As I went to the next young lady handling the sauce I told her that wasn't my order and she proceeded to ignore me and then shuttle me along. Thankfully her colleague who seems to care about customer service which I wish I noted her name in case management saw this post and would thank her for her good customer service. I told her I had the wrong order which she then proceeded to correct the error that the second person made. Thanks!! So things were righted that went wrong. The food overall was ok. They have a nice variety which is a plus. But overall I won't say I was super blown over. Certainly with the lack of service from two people I highly doubt I'll return to this location. Certainly this is a case of two bad apples literally ruining it for the bunch. read more

Roti is like the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. The service's quick, the food's quite tasty & you can pick your own meat and toppings. Sultan Sandwich ($6.75) - Chicken Roti, Hummus, Tomato & Cucumber Salad, Red Cabbage Slaw, Mixed Greens with Pita & S'hug (their spicy sauce). This is 1 of their pre-set sandwiches. I do find it quite good, esp since I love hummus! All the veggies, pita & the hummus blend quite well together. However, you probably won't be that full afterwards. Overall - 3 1/2 stars. Service and quality have both dropped here dramatically over the past few months, and I am sad to say I will no longer be visiting this location, which I have long considered my go-to lunch spot. I'll be blunt: portion sizes have shrunk to a size that no longer justifies $10. They don't even put enough lettuce on the plate to give the impression it's full...more like someone already ate half their lunch. Their tiny serving spoons might aim at the idea you're receiving a heaping helping, but no one is fooled. And the lettuce is about as dry and wilty as it gets without actually leaving it in the sun. I went here with my BF after having a very positive experience sampling their food at an event. I got the falafel plate. The falafel was good, not greasy, but the whole dish was very bland. I was very disappointed in the hummus. It was good, but it was not as thick as I normally like my hummus. I agree with my boyfriend in that the baba ganoush was not very good - for me it was bland. I'm a huge fan of Middle Eastern food and all in all, Roti is not bad for a quick bite - though if you go at lunch time, you might want to get take out. It was very crowded when we were there. Though the line moved fast, if you wanted a table you might find that in short supply. read more

Note to self...and anyone who reads this: Avoid Roti at lunchtime on a weekday! The girlfriend and I had the day off and were going to the Renwick Gallery to see the Art of Gaman exhibit. We had sampled and liked some of their wares at the Yelp Festivus party and thought it was worth giving the place a visit. Stupid us, we got there at the tail-end of the lunch rush. The line was snaked along the wall from the front door and the place was SRO. To give them credit, the line moved quickly and they handled the customers in fast and friendly manner. I had the falafel in the laffa wrap. The GF had the falafel platter. We also chose side orders of hummus and baba ghannoush with pita. Both are falafel choices were exactly what we expected. Nicely fried, but not oily or heavy. The pita was fresh and warm. The pre-packaged hummus wasn't bad, not great, but not bad. The pre-packaged baba ghannoush was a real disappointment. Maybe it's a matter of personal taste and style, but the baba ghannoush was a bit to cold out of the refrigerator which dulled the flavors and made it too thick. I also like my eggplant to be a bit more chunky. As it warmed up, the flavors came out but it wasn't as good as I've had in other places or homemade. Having traveled extensively in the Middle East, I love food from that region, especially Lebanese food. For a "fast food" restaurant, Roti does a good job for what it is. However, next time, I'll either go there for dinner or on a weekend vice lunch during the work week. read more

Came here today with some friends for the pre-opening. I had the Venetian plate with steak which includes cous-cous (with raisins and tangerines), baba ganoush, hummus, and tomato-cucumber salad - all for $7.50 Everything was well seasoned, fresh and delicious. Roti is the like the Chipotle of Mediterraen food! I tried my friend's salmon kabob which was pretty good quality salmon for the price. And tried another friend's grilled veggies (asparagus, red peppers, carrots, etc) also very good. Despite it being 5 blocks away from work, I would definitely come back when Roti officially opens. read more

The rice bowl is my favorite--chicken, several tasty toppings (tzaziki, veggies, corn, and more)--and I've gotten it the last few times I've gone. I had been wanting to try this place for a long time now. I would often drive by this place in DC, and had it on my list to try. Yesterday we had a show at the National Theater, so decided to grab a quick bite at this location (a block away from the National Theater). This is a chipotle style place, similar to Cava Mezze Grille. I loved the sides they had. I ordered a Lafa Wrap with Falafels, and got all their sides, along with the Roasted Red Pepper Dip. The wrap was delicious. The couscous, spanish eggplant, and cabbage were a perfect addition with the falafels. Next time I'll probably try a Rice Plate. I just heard that Roti is coming to Tysons Corner and I am beyond elated. I cant wait to eat at this place more often. read more

Like how the band Dragonforce basically plays the same damn song over and over again under a different name, Roti food is essentially the same "taste" with minor variants here-and-there. That being said, it's pretty good stuff. Roti is Chipotle with a Mediterranean hat on. You pick a base carb (a rice plate is generally the best) and top it with a meat (all are awesome - I recommend the steak or falafel) and sides (I recommend the tomatoes, cous cous, and snap peas). On top of it all, you get a somewhat overly generous helping of spicy or savory sauce - I recommend the roasted red pepper. That, plus a tasty pita bread, is about $8-10. Don't bother with the cookies, they tend to be too dry to be palatable. This place is a good go-to lunch place, but I tired of it quickly, especially since I used to live in the same building. read more

I work across the street, so I eat lunch here more than I should ever admit. So what do you need to know? 1. The food is fresh and delicious. Especially the falafel. And the pita. And the red pepper aioli. And the Spanish eggplant. Ok, pretty much everything is yummy. 2. You can order online and have it waiting for you. 3. The employees are friendly and fast. 4. When I've waited in line in the heat, there was always an employee passing out falafels or cold water to those waiting. Customer service at a quick lunch place doesn't get better than that. 5. Context: Mid-Week Lunch I was not expecting to like this place, and yet here I am loving it. The lunchtime queue is usually out the door, so maybe that should have been some indication to me-- this is GOOD stuff. But it's that same queue that's kept me away all this time. Solution: get lunch at 10:30am. I have no shame. Those playing along at home know that I love my vegetables. For $7-and-change I got a huge serving of vegetables with falafel and tasty sauces. I can feel my Health ++1. (You will also note that I am a huge falafel snob, and these easily pass muster-- not dry! not greasy!) The salad seems like a much better deal than the rice bowl ('Mediterranean plate') or sandwich-- you can have unlimited toppings! My salad today included every vegetable they have: - Hummus - Red Cabbage Slaw (surpassed expectations!) - Mixed Greens - Sumac Onions - Tomato & Cucumber Salad (surpassed expectations!) - Spanish Eggplant - Kalamata Olive blend - Roasted vegetables And I combined two sauces: - Yogurt & Cucumber (mild) - S'hug (very spicy) It was delicious, satisfying, and lasted me 1.5 meals. Also, service was very pleasant (I think his name was Derek?). I took my food to go, so no comments on atmosphere ;) Some Notes: - Roti may actually fill the gap that Maoz left behind. - The name 'Roti' is confusing. I thought Roti was Indian, but this place is all Mediterranean. - I returned during midweek lunch rush and though everyone behind me might hate me, I love Roti even more: I asked dude at the front (Lee) if he could please change gloves so my falafel doesn't get meaty residue on it and he offered to 'walk it through' for me, leaving his station to make sure no one else ever touched my meal until it was covered. Most other places just look at me funny and passive-aggressively let me know I'm asking too much for no good reason while complying; here they took my request one step further. Apparently 'walk it through' is a thing they do. Great for vegetarians and vegans! - This second visit, my plate only lasted me 0.9 meals. My 5.5-months pregnant self is eating everything in sight, I think the baby is going through a growth spurt. Actually, it may only be 0.5 meals-- I'm seriously considering walking back and ordering a second lunch. No shame. - I'd eat here every day if they didn't mispronounce 's'chug'. "You mean 'shug'?" MMM.....tried this spot at the recommendation of a co-worker in my DC office. Of course my short butt has no clue that this is basically the Mediterranean version of Chipotle lol. I was trying to figure out the options and couldn't really see because I'm little. I caved to the pressure of my peers in the massive line behind me and just made quick decisions. I ended up with a side of couscous and a cabbage salad on the side of my chicken entree. All was pretty delish. I asked for the sauce medium spicy since I was a newbie and honestly, I could've gone WAAAAYYY hotter. But now I know! Next time, I will come down after the lunch rush so I can take my time and get some recommendations from the staff or even nibble a few samples.
