I don't like writing bad reviews. The service was not very good. We did not see our server for long periods. On two occasions we walked to the bar and ordered water for the table and a second time we ordered wine. We ordered the thin crust classic. It would have been good if it would have been warm. It was cold. I don't want to pile on but the place was dirty. There was no one in the place but the staff was not interested in the three tables that were seated. We visited this location tonight after driving from Prairieville specifically to try the different menu compared to the standard Rotolo's Pizzeria. Unfortunately, our experience was very mixed. I ordered the Shrimp Caesar Wrap, which was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I hoped for. I did need to substitute a salad for fries because the oil was being filtered around 8:00 p.m., but the salad was perfectly fine. The service, however, was disappointing. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time, yet we were not provided silverware and had to request it, along with every drink refill. My husband ordered the cracker crust pizza, which unfortunately arrived very overcooked. The bottom of the crust was burnt, the pizza had little flavor, and the cup pepperoni was extremely crisp -- almost hard. He was unable to enjoy it. This restaurant is a shell of its former self. 4-5 years ago it was a great place to go during happy hour and I came at least once a week. Craft beer galore, fun activity nights like Bingo and trivia, always packed, and really good pizza and calzones. Now the once full craft beer list has more blank spots than actual options and there's more staff than customers on any given night that only provide mediocre service. This place is a yes! Why? Cause I'm not a pizza person and I loved it. Don't think traditional quick pizza. Think created pizza. Pizza pie that someone cared about when they created it. It taste like Italian love food. I love a good, rich crust that isn't super doughy. Rotolo's will fill you up without making you feel bloated...and who doesn't love an establishment that's accommodating. Yelp really should give us options to do half stars. This is a 3.5 star review. Anyway, I can't believe I've never done a review on Rotolo's! So there are a few locations around the city but my nearest one is Burbank and Ben Hur. This is a very large location with the pickup window. The inside is very stylish. They do have happy hour every day (M-F) from 2-6 and different daily specials. I went on a Thursday and did the buy one get one pints. I ended up ordering the garlic parmesan bites for the appetizer and the Southern Belle (light on the onions) for my meal. I only ate 3 slices of the pizza, and while those flavors married pretty decently together, I wish they would have had a bit more sauce. I tasted more toppings than sauce. However, it reheated well. The garlic parmesan bread bites were soft and pillowy and the marinara was great! I ended up also getting the cinnabites for dessert. These were just okay and could have been a bit more sweet. The service from the bartender was great! He was knowledgeable about the beers and the food items and was cool to talk to. What can I say? When I try it, I try it all. I'd go back but would definitely order something different to try. read more

The location has good service, and the food is decent. The flavor of the food was moderate and caused me to deduct one star from this review. As soon as my friend and I walk in, we were immediately greeted by a waitress. The restaurant was not full; however, we were asked to wait until a waitress was available to sit us. The wait was not long, and the waitress took our drink order. The wait for the food was short, and we were able to get what we wanted quickly. The waitress was really nice and provided excellent service. My friend and I ordered a pizza to share. The pizza was around $20 dollars, and it was a 13 inch pizza. The pizza itself was a pretty decently topped pizza. It was hot and looked delicious. However, the taste of the pizza was not the best. The pizza was more on the bland side. I did not get the taste of the chicken that we added nor was I able to get a taste of the tomatoes and other toppings. The pizza taste like a cheese pizza with a hint of other flavors. The taste could have been from the fact that the pizza was hot. For the price, I did not think that the pizza was worth the purchase. Therefore, I had to deduct one star from it. I went here today with my bf for lunch. I got a 225besteats voucher and wanted to use it. I would say the restaurant was a little busy and they weee understaffed with one waitress/hostess and one server/busboy. Regardless of them being understaffed they did a good job of making up for it. We were greeted and sat quickly and our drink orders and food orders were taken within 5 minutes. Autumn, the waitress who served us, came back to check on us for refills etc. We tot the Brussel sprouts appetizer which I liked. I would have preferred for it to be a little less oily but overall it was good. We ordered the meat lovers pizza and it was an average good pizza. We would have liked more meat on it though. We had some leftovers even though we had both been starving before. I really have to commend Autumn and the other server for doing such a great job. If I had been either of them I would have been freaking out being the only servers in the restaurant. I'd recommend Rotolo's for lunch or dinner. read more

This place is the newest addition to the Rotolo's chain line up. We went a couple weeks after seeing it was open. It is a swankier place than the other locations we have been to. The name on the front says "Craft and Crust", which leads one to believe that it is different than other's in the Rotolo's family. The curb appeal at this place is great. I does have the appearance of a microbrew or craft cocktail lounge. There is a nice open air patio for dining as well. There is a wall mounted chalk board when you first enter that advertises a "Slice Bar" with three pizza options. It also lists 6 kinds of pizzas with descriptions. However, the "Slice bar" was not open when we got there around 6 pm. At least there was not pizza seen in the vicinity of the window. There were no signs saying the hours the "Slice Bar" was open either. Not sure if it is only open certain hours or if it was not fully functional yet. The pizza dictionary confused us a bit too. The pizzas we saw on the menu were Sicilian. We were not sure why the other styles were on the board. Maybe just for information? The menu features the same pizzas at the other locations we've been to, plus more. There are artisan pizza options plus more apps, salads and sandwiches than other locations. They have a nice selection of craft beer. Unfortunately, that is all they had to offer in terms of adult beverages and I don't drink beer. We had read an article saying they offered cocktails and wine, but our server said that they only had beer available (or soft drinks and tea). Maybe those are still to come? We ordered two pizzas (one artisan and one traditional) and I got a side salad. The salad was a good deal for the $2 price. It had lots of veggies and was not the typical iceberg only side salad. The pizzas were good. Lots of cheese and toppings. The crust was done well on both. Crisp and light and not soggy. We did have one problem with the pizza though. I had requested gluten free crust ($1 up charge) and did not receive it. This was supported by it not being on the bill and the GI distress I had later that evening. When I asked for it our server did give me an hard time saying the whole kitchen is covered in flour and it won't really be gluten free. I told her that I am not allergic to it, but sensitive and still wanted the GF option. Maybe she misunderstood. When we got our check there was a Yelp flyer with photos asking for reviews for "Rotolo's Craft & Crust" page on Yelp. Problem was there is no such page. Kind of hard for people to review when there is no live page. I made a new page, using the establishment name on the flyer to post pictures and leave a tip. The resulting live Yelp page just uses the "Rotolo's Pizzeria" designation and not the "Craft & Crust" as advertised on the flyer. We went to this location, just a couple weeks after they had opened their doors. And as with many new places, there were a few kinks that need to be worked out. I ordered pick up through Uber eats and was very disappointed. When I gave my name for the order they said they couldn't find it. Then they gave me my food the first time there was a huge hair in it and it had to be remade. They took absolutely forever to remake this and when I got my second pizza this is how it looked. I finally gave up after waiting almost another additional hour for my second pizza. This pizza is supposed to have oregano parmesan and basil on top as well and this does not have that. My experience here last night SUCKED. I've eaten here before and had WAY better experiences but they have fallen off. Our server was great (the SOLE REASON I'm not giving 1 star) but he seemed to be dealing with issues from the staff, bar and kitchen all night based on the wait times. We got wings, beer, and a pizza. The wings came out lukewarm at best, tasted old, and they only gave us 7 wings when it should've been 8 (for $14). Our server got us more on the house, so that was great. The wings m still aren't that good tho, not fresh tasting, taste like they've been in the freezer for months. He also had to press the bartender to pour my beer TWICE after she hadn't done so for like 10+ minutes. I also heard her shouting her responses to him from our table across the restaurant... ridiculous, unprofessional, weird. Bartender seemed overwhelmed but it wasn't even that busy...? Pizza was okay. We got the meat one on half & jalapeño popper on half. The meat one was good, jalapeño popper was super wack. Popper was supposed to be blackened chicken, but it was SUPER dry grilled chicken with no flavor. On another note, some old guy who looked like the owner was dressed in plain clothes washing dishes behind the bar, walking between the kitchen & bar working, looking incredibly irritated, rolling his eyes, etc. They might have been short staffed by 1-2 servers but it really wasn't busy enough to warrant the horrible vibe coming from everybody EXCEPT our server. This is always our go-to when we want to stay close to home but get our food on. We have yet to be disappointed. Great craft beer selection - always something I haven't tried that I've been jonesing for. The cheese sticks are ooey gooey and bursting with flavor presumably from the mountain of parm and moz sprinkled on the homemade crust and the liberal application of oil and garlic dusted on top. Dip in ranch, repeat. The ricotta dip is also delicious and cheesy - got a little taste of lemon, enough to break up the luscious cheese and crispy toast. The big apple is our favorite pizza by far - Italian sausage, ricotta, chippy pepperoni on top of the amazing freshly made crust tossed in their fancy shmancy pizza oven brought in from Italy. Y'all. Went to try out their burger offering for Burger and Beer week. It's nice inside but it was so cold. It was already chilly out and I think it was colder inside than out. We started with the garlic Parmesan bites. I wasn't very impressed. They were kind of tough and chewy but the marinara dipping sauce was great. The burger was really good even though they served it medium (they didn't ask how I wanted it cooked). I don't really like French fries but these were really good and crispy. First time checking out this little pizza joint. Decor and everything was about as expected; tvs,a bar, plenty of seating and good smells. As we approached the front door you could smell the pizza over working (very yummy smell). As for the seating it was confusing,there wasn't someone to tell you where to sit,so we just sat down at a table. About 10 minutes into waiting we were greeted by our waitress Loren (sorry if I spelt it wrong ) she was very polite. You could tell the staff of 2 plus the kitchen, (one gentleman and our waitress) were there to work and were hustling. I got the bacon Mac and cheese pie (it's a wedge not a full pie) but it's enough for sure. It was a little on the buttery/greasy side but the cheese and bacon were great,you could taste the flavor and that it wasn't just heated up and slapped in the pan. After my pan was empty and my parents were done with their deep dish,we waved down our waitress (cause they were taking orders,cleaning tables,welcoming guest) got it paid for it's was under $40 (my Mac was $12) and it was worth it with the flavor I got. We walked up to 2 people making out in the parking lot right in front of the entrance. Nobody inside to greet us & finally told by a patron to seat ourselves. When the waitress finally appeared, it was the girl making out in the parking lot! We ordered, sodas came out, never got the bar drinks. After about 30 minutes, my husband went searching for the waitress - the only employees in the building were the cooks. The young man told us that the waitress was "going through some stuff" and left! Never put our order in, never told us she was leaving! Nothing stood out about my visit here. I met a group for a ladies' night, and our server was either way up in our face or very absent. She was sweet enough, but just seemed to be pulled in a lot of directions. I ordered a basic wine that was pretty over priced but decent enough. For my meal, i got the popeye calzone. I really like how they've redone the restaurant - it looks really nice and I like how they can open the doors and windows so you can get a nice breeze through the restaurant. ALERT !!!! This is the ONLY location that I will go to if we go to Rotolo's on Ben Hur - why you ask it's very well kept up in cleanliness and the food is amazing. I don't ever order the same thing twice but if it's that good it's a must darlings. So on this dinner outing I was feeling adventurous and decided to order The Figgy Piggy the name just popped out and it made me laugh. The Figgy Piggy is not your normal pizza I will say it's on the sweeter side per my taste but I did enjoy it very much. I also order the deluxe combination (which is my go to pizza) this is always so delicious and very tasty. The location is great and you can also watch sports while eating and enjoying friends with a few beers. I'm a Rotolo's fan already, but this new concept from the company is really great. I love the whole "Craft and Crust" vibe and I wish it had been around while I was at LSU. Some nights they do pizza by the slice, and there's even a pickup window. The selection of local and craft beers on tap is really great, and rivals most other places I've been to. We got to try some really good sour beer from Chandeleur out of Gulfport, as well as some local favorites like Gnarly Barley. The selection changes often, but the bartender was able to offer suggestions. The menu features some of the same pizzas I know and love from Rotolo's, plus the calzones, apps, and salads. However, more inventive pizzas are also on the menu. The classics are great, but I really enjoyed the Figgy Piggy pizza with balsamic glaze. The interior of the restaurant is clean, modern, and inviting. They even have a wall of Rotolo's history. I wish I lived closer so I could grab a good beer and pizza more often. I'm jealous of all the college students that live within walking distance! read more
