I'm a huge, lifelong fan of Round Table Pizza and when I found out there was a sports bar 'clubhouse' themed restaurant I flipped! I was crazy excited! I was in town for one night, staying nearby before heading up the mountain to big bear, and definitely had to check it out. I had looked through all the pictures in anticipation and thought it looked really cool! So the night I was there, my gf and I pulled up and was super stoked! It was a Friday night and it was pretty full. There was a kids birthday party and a couple of other groups there, along with other people at the bar and couples on dates. We waited 5 minutes to get seated and then got to our table. Our waitress, I forgot her name, came to our table to get our drink orders. She was really nice and helped us out right away. We got our drink orders and then ordered our food. They had everything on the regular round table menu, plus a bunch of other stuff. We ordered a large smokehouse combo pizza, a large order of garlic fries, a cobb salad, a blended margarita and a beer (mmmmm). While we waited, I went to the bathroom. They were all clean and well stocked. The hallway leading to the bathroom has signed sports jerseys and memorabilia... very cool! There's also an arcade in the middle of the restaurant. It wasn't HUGE (about 10-15 machines, all newer games), but it had enough games and variety to play and would have been fun if I wasn't so hungry before I ate, and too full to play after (lol). The food was amazing as always, although I think I would have traded the garlic fries for some wings or twists. They weren't bad, but just ok. The rest of everything was so good! I wish I would have taken more pictures. I had a great time, and I really liked the updated theme. It was almost like a Buffalo Wild Wings, and I could definitely see it getting packed on sports days here. The kitchen closes at 10pm, but the bar closes at 11pm. There was even an outside area with a fire pit where you could sit and watch TV on! We had my nieces bday party here and it was pretty nice. They are fairly new I think so everything seemed to be nice looking. Games, there we a few not in service which sucked because they have a game room the size of a closet as it is so you can imagine when a few games are out it's really limits your options. My only dissatisfaction is in the price, everything else like the freshness of meats and veggies is great and the clubhouse is on par with any restaurant / bar / kids area. But the group I attended with all agree that the price we paid for pizza left us feeling like suckers. Tonight was opening night for the anticipated Round Table Clubhouse in Highland, CA. We knew that, as opening night, we could expect some bumps, but I think our experience went a bit beyond reasonable issues. Me, my son (6),mom,brother,his wife,& their 2 kids (8&2) made plans to meet up @ 6:00 for dinner. 3 of us arrived and were seated by 6:05. The rest of our party came in ~6:20. We discovered that our booth was not going to be big enough for all of us, so my bro stood for ~ 5 min until someone noticed him standing and offered to put us @ a table instead. Yay for not being squished! We were all finally seated comfortably by 6:30. Our server was very nice, but you could tell he was super nervous (visibly trembling) and inexperienced, but I'm a very patient person and figured he was probably BRAND new at serving, so it wasn't a problem (more on this later). He took our drink orders (caution: Pepsi products lol) and he got us the WiFi password. Yay for WiFi (huge plus for my 6 y/o with ADHD and autism)! He came back promptly w/ our waters- and then straws a few min later lol. Then he took orders for salads & garlic bread while we finished figuring out what else we wanted to order. If you've never been to a CLUBHOUSE, just know that the menu is much more extensive. They have wings, burgers, grinders, appetizers, pasta, dessert and of course pizza! Server came back and we placed our orders for 2 pizzas, plus a kids mac n cheese for the 2 y/o. Salads took about 20 minutes to get out. By this time it was almost 7:30. It took another 5 minutes to get forks to eat our salads lol. My son started getting very anxious. He was eager to go play some games in the fun-looking arcade! I had told him he had to wait until after he ate dinner. So keep in mind, he'd been waiting for 90 min @ this point. :( We finished our salads and the garlic bread and sat and waited for the pizzas. Finally, 2 hours after walking in the door, @ 8:00, a pizza came out. BUT it was only one!! As the server set the first pizza down, he let us know it would be another 10 min or so for the other pizza because the kitchen was so backed up. Fine. My son was asking where his pizza was and I said it was coming. We also noticed that my niece's mac n cheese hadn't come out yet. About 8:15, server comes back and apologizes that the second pizza was made incorrectly. They put it on skinny crust instead of pan. He asked if we wanted the skinny crust or if he wanted them to make a new one. I asked what the skinny crust was and he said "it's basically like toppings on a cracker" lol so I said "oh no thanks...let's get that correct pizza out" and reminded him about the mac n cheese. He hustled away. He comes back ~8:25 and apologizes, telling us the mac n cheese was burnt, so they were making a new one. In the mean time, almost 2.5 hours later, my son still had not eaten. It was past his bed time. I felt so bad. :( At 8:30, the Mac & cheese is brought out. The server's face told me something else was wrong. He apologetically tells us, "I'm just going to be honest here-they totally forgot about your pizza. If you want, I can just take it off the ticket?" I felt frustrated but replied as calmly as possible that I still needed to feed my husband something (he works nights so I bring him something to take to work) and my son still needed to eat, so no, I didn't want him to just take it off...I needed the pizza I ordered. He nodded understandingly and said he'd make sure it got made this time, and offered to send the manager over to us. The 2nd pizza came out ~ 8:45, my son inhaled a slice, then my mom took him to play games while I spoke w/ the manager. He was nice and shared that they had SUCH a successful opening day! They'd made 600+ pizzas that day (norm for a Tuesday is 150ish). Also, our server was actually THE DELIVERY GUY who was asked to step in and help. Kudos to him!! We tipped him well. :) Mgr comped one of the pizzas, which was appreciated. But the worst was yet to happen... As my son fed his game tickets into the ticket machine, he bumped into a highchair, among a tangle of highchairs haphazardly set next to the ticket machine in the hallway. This bumped a large wooden flagpole which I didn't notice until it came crashing down on to the back of my head. It HURT (and still does!)! Had I not been standing there, my son would have probably been knocked out by it. I went to report it to the hostess and she simply said she'd let the manager know. No incident report or anything. If it wasn't 9:15 by then, I would have waited to speak to the manager. So the staff issues are a big problem there right now. They're understaffed and not up on procedures (especially about what needs to happen if a customer is injured). I recommend waiting a couple months. I will update next time. Lots of room to improve! Pizza buffet stops at 1:20. They advertise 2pm ....asked for another pizza to be put on at. Had a party of 4 vegetarians , host refused to put on a vegetarian pizza. Horrible service, our waitress was full of excuses, manager waited on us took our drink order after being seated for over 20 minutes ..a water with lemon, a beer and a glass of ice, a coffee and a glass of red wine.. waitress appeared took drink orders from the manager, stated she would be right back for food orders, another 15 minutes go by no drinks no food order! Waitress comes by tells how awful her night is.. how the kitchen is not cooperating, how her evening is a disaster.. she again tells us she will be right back for orders.. no right back happened.. manager came back took food order ..as he is our waitress shows up again to take the order from manager, we ordered appetizers , 12 wings, they decided our flavor as we were never asked.. for dinner a side salad, sliders flatbread, macaroni and cheese and a small pizza...no wings after about 15 minutes , we asked our waitress she told us she would check but the kitchen was in chaos, her evening was horrible but she would be right back , this time she did return immediately.. the kitchen staff threw her out so she didn't know the status of our wings , I offered to go back to the kitchen and ask myself, she left and came back with our wings. Then a side salad... more time passes, we are over a hour now with only a salad and wings... but no silverware, we flag our waitress down she brings back two settings, there are 4 of us. Was in Roundtable Pizza tonight to watch the Lakers game. Alot of people were their doing the same. Made a simple request of the bartender to ask the manager if the sound for the game could be turned on. Expected a simple yes or no answer. The bartender came back to us and told us that the manager would turn the sound for the game on in a few minutes. 30 minutes later, we asked the bartender, did the manager forget to turn on the sound. She then said the manager was deciding whether to do it or not. So which is it, yes she is turning the game sound on or she is debating it. Know your audience! Many people were in to see the Lakers play in the playoffs and potentially win the series. I am totally understanding if a question is asked and we receive a yes or no answer. But not understanding of asking, being told it will happen and then being told the manager is still thinking about it a half hour later. We left at half time as the manager never turned on the sound for the game. At Darby's now, a much better place to go to see our local team in the playoffs. If the old manager Jim were still there, it would have been handled. This new manager seems not know her audience. 2nd time going here with a big party. First time prob around 20 people I had one person get her check before she was served food. Food took forever to get out to guests. It's pizza, people!!! and this is a pizza place. Well basically same story for last night. Wanting to have a good time for a friends b day and took over an hour to get food out to everyone, my beer took 28 min to get to me and then about 45 min to get the checks then they force a tax because of the party size AKA (we know your not going to tip so we're forcing 20% on top of your check) really wish this isn't the case it's a cool place with a good selection of beer. Our server seemed too concerned with taking care of a big table full of her family or friends than to even realize I ordered a pizza and that it hadn't come out. It was just a personal size, too! This is actually our 2nd visit here...today is Sunday Football day and we came to watch our team play...and let me tell you that its a pretty good place to come and enjoy some good food and watch whatever team you are rooting for...there are plenty of tvs. Today we ordered the buffalo wings and they are amazing!!! They also came with a large side, and we chose the garlic fries...also good. A small King Arthur Pizza and a pitcher of beer, plenty of food for 2 to even have left overs. We sat at the bar and the bartender Melanie is very nice and attentive, made sure we were ok and happy which is very much appreciated. This review is based solely on today's service. Ordered a beer and quickly ordered a personal pizza and 1 order of wings to go. There were some people at the bar, where I was sitting, that I knew. While enjoyed their company immensely, i just wanted to get home, shower and enjoy my food. Apparently, the bartender thought I was having so much fun that my food sat ready for an hour. As my friend at work says, "No bueno". Food was cold and reheating pizza that had already sat for an extended period does not reheat well. Next time, Bartender Girl, please ask me of I'm ready for my order, unless you were just too busy getting ready to clock out.
