I place an order at this restaurant and I received a notification that my order would be delivered at a certain time. After 30 mins,my food never arrived and I decided to place a call to the restaurant to figure where is my food. The told me no one came to pick up my food. The manger then informed me to call Doordash. I called Doordash and I was told they can't find my order on their end and told me to call back the restaurant, I again call the restaurant and the manager keep on telling me that I can go ahead and cancel my order . At this point i was getting frustrated and told the lady go ahead and cancel the order and refund my money. She said I would have to on my end. There is not place to cancel the order all it says is if you have I decided to go to the restaurant e any issue with your order call the restaurant which I did. When i got there, I ask for a refund and the manager keep on telling me the same old story. I was tired of all this back and forth and I asked her again refund my money and I don't want this cold food that's been sitting out here for hours. The next thing she called the cops on me 2 Highland police officers showed up. What in a world is this? Calling the cops on me because i want my money back? This would be the last time I'm stepping into this place ever again, and the last time I'll be ordering from them (ROUND THE CLOCK). The Cops were nice and they told me to call my bank and asked them to decline the transaction and tell them I didn't receive anything from the restaurant. the Bank would reverse the charges. read more

I was in last night to get a bite to eat with my boyfriend. Our server was nice and attentive and the food was good. The problem I had with this place was the woman at the front end, Margerete. She was rude, condescending, and borderline abusive to the staff in front of customers. When we were cashing out at the front end, she yelled at a worker standing right next to me with such a condescending tone I stood there in shock. I'm a server in a restaurant and if my manager or any associate talked to me in that way I would quit. It is completely unacceptable to speak to anyone that way, especially in front of customers. read more

This used to be the place of choice for the family. Never again. Our experience started off positively enough - even on a Monday for brunch the place was moderately busy, but the staff seated our party of 5 promptly. That's where the good experiences ended. A party shortly after us came in and was seated with quite a bit of affection from the manager. They got serviced, ordered, and got brought drinks long before we saw our server again. Annoying, but I somewhat expect favoritism in a "family" restaurant business. No, where the real problem came from was the food itself. My wife had ordered a Western Omelette (Ham, Cheese, Green Peppers, Onion) which was by far the biggest offender. The cheese was undetectable on over half of the omelette, but the rest of the ingredients were at least present. Unfortunately, though, the egg was... how to put it... wet? Underdone, to say the least. My wife afterwards was sick off of that egg for the rest of the day. My egg and meal wasn't much better - I had ordered the Country Fried Chicken and Eggs. Thankfully, that's what they charged me for, but they brought me a Country Fried Steak. Not normally that much of a problem - I like Country Fried Steak, but this one had soggy breading and wasn't terribly satisfying. The sad part is, the Steak was better than the egg that I got, too - I ordered the egg over-hard, in part due to the reason above my wife suffered from, but what I got might have been a -passable- over-medium; it had a bit of run to it. My brother's banana nutella crepes were far more acceptable than much of the rest, as was my sister's corned beef hash, but both were far darker than they should have been (to the point of crispiness on the crepes). The pancakes my daughter received also were pretty dark overall. Normally, I excuse quite a lot of gripes - obviously I can gripe about a lot and pick out flaws from food pretty easily, but I don't bring restaurants down via reviews over them since it's easy to get a completely different experience than others will. But underdone eggs are unacceptable for ANY restaurant to serve to a guest. In short, check your eggs - make sure they are done before you eat them, It's something you shouldn't have to do, but it's better than getting sick over it. read more

Absolutely unacceptable customer service experience. I ordered food here for my family of 5. Upon asking if everything was included, the employee Andrew told me it was, and so I went on my way. When I got home, I realized I was missing three entire items from my order, and called to see what could be done. After being put on hold three times, Andrew finally came on and offered me a $5 credit for the trouble, but with a terrible attitude. When my daughter came on and asked that we get comped for the meal, he was incredibly rude with her and told her they would not do a refund, and that she could not speak to the store manager nor know his name. I then got a bit heated and got back on the phone and demanded some respect, before being called an a-hole by Andrew and getting hung up on. We've contacted the BBB and store owner of another location about this. We have yet to receive a resolution, so until we do, it can be assumed that Round the Clock stands behind this terrible behavior, disrespect, and lack of Customer Service. read more

Stopped here for dinner since I'm staying across the street. It's great since it's open 24/7 and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. I got the Tuesday special an it was a pork chop. Usually chops are tough to cut but this one was so tender I could cut it with my fork. It had a brown sauce with mushrooms. Very tasty! It comes with 2 sides, so I got a baked potato and fruit. Good but not awesome. It also comes with dessert so I picked cheesecake. A great deal for $10! Hope to come back soon. Sara was an excellent server, too. read more

Long review, short version; Night managers terrible but it's the only 24 hour food spot in town so it'll have to do. Recommend the burgers or any breakfast really. There is a love hate relationship with this restaurant. This is the ONLY true 24 hour restaurant near its location. I'm a night owl because of my work shift so for me this place is almost dinner every other night because I'm just not up most of the time to eat at any other restaurant. Now that it's said. I've been here in the afternoon. The service is nice and attentive. It's like any restaurant should be. It's nothing crazy. The night shift is a little different. Now trust me. I have gone here at night exclusively the past 2 years. The manager Margot is bipolar. Which totally can kill the experience if she is the Host when you walk in. Side note. She's a very nice lady when she's nice. However, me being a 21 year old male who only ever eats at 3am I guess doesn't rub her the right way? Sometimes I walk in and she'll give attitude instantly. Hard to explain but I always am curtesy because it's 1am-5am and I don't want to give the manager a bad impression. (I always eat with my girlfriend and we tip 20% because we feel like we get judged by the older staff that "we look like teenagers so we won't tip.") The staff at night is great. My favorite server is a guy named Bobbie. He knows his stuff and what his customers like and want. Food is cooked fast and taste good since there are only a few tables there at 1am-5am. But hey there's Margot to come and ruin the nice dinning experience. My girlfriend and I will be eating and it's always something. We will hear Margot talking s*** about her workers. About other guests. Complaining my whole damn meal in the middle of the restaurant for everyone to hear. This is every. Single. Night. I go there. Like I said. When she's nice, she's great. Nice lady. But she isn't nice most of the time. I witnessed her calling one of their (I think she quit) Spanish looking busier ladies an idiot after she tried to leave without doing something. Okay. Our waitress Kim was friendly and efficient. The buffalo chicken salad was huge! The complimentary rolls delicious. I had a patty melt that first came out very undercooked. We arrived with three younger children at 10 PM last night. We were greeted by a friendly host who immediately sat us. Our waiter arrived shortly thereafter and helped us with menu selections. We got more than enough food to eat, and everything was hot and fresh. The kids especially liked the French toast. For OUR taste the bacon was a little soft, the taco salad was a little too spicy, the hashbrowns were a little too bland, and refills a little too slow for us to give it five stars, but all in all it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. read more

Our server was absolutely wonderful! It's in a prime location with many reasonably priced items so they are positioned for success. However, my family and I will never visit this restaurant again. The food was completely cold upon arriving to our table and the bacon was soggy. Also, the atmosphere upon entering is one that for a Sunday morning, was cold and uninviting. Had we not had another appointment, we would have left immediately. There was also a male at the entrance, whom I assumed was the head hostess, was unlike any hostess I've encountered before. Around The Clock is one of those restaurants that is comfy and cozy. Food is awesome coffee is wonderful and wait staff is amazing. You will never leave this place hungry. My favorite is the pancakes and the malted waffle. My boyfriend's favorite is the cheeseburger, the french toast and also the pancakes. The hostess knows us by name and always sits us in our favorite spot. This is a convenient little diner that has everything you could want on the menu and they give you a lot of food! Last week, on the way to visit friends in the area, I stopped for some food to go. I ordered a Greek salad and was told that the $8.95 price comes with soup, rolls and dessert! I didn't get any soup (too messy) but they gave me 5-6 rolls with butter in its own bag and a huge cup of rice pudding. Yum! I wish they used real whipped cream and more natural ingredients, but this is such a good value for the money. I love Greek-owned places because they really do care about customer service. Worst dining experience we've ever had. Very poor service. Our waitress got some rude manners. Our orders were served after about 45 minutes and none were done correctly. Eggs weren't cooked as we wanted, burnt crepes, burnt pancakes and burnt toasts! We asked for them to add strawberries on our banana Nutella crepe but was served with strawberries only. We asked our server if there were bananas in it and when she returned it to the kitchen, the cook just said that they don't have bananas anymore. So why would you still serve it? Not sure if they were just thinking that we won't notice it. Staff were yelling at each other and didn't really seem to have sense of order. My sister talked to the manager (or someone who seem to be the manager) and mentioned that we really didn't have a pleasant experience. All he said was "thank you" with a blank expression. My sister told us about his reaction when we already left. If I knew earlier, I would have talked to him again and say we don't want to pay for anything since it is a waste of money to pay for burnt food and poorly cooked meals. The service is not bad and the food is not that bad, either. However, for the price there are far better values in the area. It's WAAAY over-priced, but at 2 am, I know how people do not want to venture too far. If you do want to drive a little bit for a better value, go North on US 41 to Top Notch or Purple Steer. Paragon, which is west on 30 is also open, but it is not the best place around either. For breakfast, I like to try new places, so I stopped by the Omelette House which is directly south on US41 and Rt 30. It's a great value, with great food. Round the Clock is an interesting restaurant. It is as beautiful a restaurant as you could hope to see by way of a 24 hour diner, and unlike others I had a very polite waitstaff. Alas, the reason people go to restaurants is primarily for food, and this is where RtC disappoints. I ordered the All Meat Skillet, being a person of a carnivorous bent. The menu describes this meal as "Bacon, Sausage, and Ham with vegetables, melted American cheese and potatoes" What I got was certainly as described, but in the most horrible way. The vegetables were heavily green pepper, which immediately took over the flavor of the skillet in an unexpected and therefore unappealing way. The cheese was just two slices of Kraft type cheese singles, a couple squares which did not melt into my skillet at all leaving my skillet without the delicious cheesy binding agent I have come to love in a meaty skillet. Slathering it in hot sauce rendered it edible, but the texture was lacking. The price was therefore far more than I would have paid for this breakfast had I known it would be prepared in such a way. If you are desiring a delicious breakfast treat, I recommend almost any local drive through window over this restaurant. The food will taste better and your pocket won't be left as light. This just goes to show that just as you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, a great looking restaurant doesn't mean well prepared food. read more

recently remodeled, Round the Clock on Route 30 in Schererville offers your typical diner experience in a country-themed environment. the exposed wooden pillars and knick knacks that adorn the walls reflect the "new" abiance. despite the new look the food is what you'd expect from a typical diner: greasy and good. being open 24 hours fills this place with the older crowd in mornings and the teeniebopper crowd late in the evenings (you've been warned). service is typically decent; i have but a handful of complaints after going there for years. during lunchtime, the level of service seems to vary. otherwise, Round the Clock is a local institution that has stood the test of time and looks to be around for some time to come. read more

We eat there often and can honestly say that we have had very few complaints about the food or the service. The few that we have had in the last several years were understandable due to the crowd that was there. Our experience has almost always been a good meal for a reasonable price. I took my family there yesterday and the food was horrible! I had to send my French toast back 2xs and both times it came back uncooked. The lemon rice soup had no rice. The bacon was like rubber. The waitress barely came over and never gave refills. At the register I talked to the "manager" I told her all the issues and the I even said something to the waitress. She was only willing to give 2.99 off well the meal that was not eaten was 8.99 so if the meal was returned shouldn't the whole price be taken off? Another bad experience in Indiana. Passed the location on Torrence Ave in Illinois because I was doing a little shopping in the area. I've never dined at this establishment before but this was a BAD DECISION. I dined here recently on a Sunday morning. The facility is made to appear rustic however upon entering it is noticeably not very clean. Immediately I noticed two waitresses squabbling about something :(. Um ok! The wait time was short and so was the arrival of the breakfast. Dishes were hot but the food tasted horrible. The skillet dish contained strangely chopped and brunt hash browns and the pancakes were flat. I had to request another glass of water because I noticed food particles on the side glass. Can't go back here but maybe I'll consider trying a different location in Illinois. read more

I give good and bad reviews and this time it is a VERY GOOD review. Last time we had a VERY BAD experience with Jean waiting on us or NOT for the most part. This time we had waitress Daina and she was attentive,quick, friendly and very busy. She made us feel like family and that is what dining out is all about. When we visit RTC (several times a week) we ask NOT to be seated in Jean's station as she was rude, slow, unfriendly and made several mistakes. The food is alright, but you get a lot. Got the turkey, bacon and swiss sandwich. Came with soup, a side, and dessert. Service is usually decent. One thing I absolutely hate... It's best described with this quote: "The non-smoking section of a restaurant is like the no-peeing section of a pool."
