Usually have good food when we come, but today i wasn't thrilled. My american potatoes, were cold to the touch. I asked if i could have them remade and she said "i'll microwave them for you" .... ugh ok? Tasted that and they were chewy and just nasty. She had them remake them and she admitted when she brought me the new ones that they were crispy and asked if i wanted them crispy. They were hard and not done! A). don't microwave my food. B). if you were gonna do that, don't tell me! I won't be coming here anymore. My boyfriends sausage patties weren't good either he said. Very disappointed. read more

Great food. Best value for eating out in Northwest Indiana. Excellent service. I am retired and have an opportunity to eat at a lot of different restaurants. I choose Round The Clock. Their prices are excellent on everything. They even give a senior citizen discount which is ridiculously good. I am never able to complete all the food that they give me and end up taking a bunch home because it is very good. read more

Bad experience with a side of rude service. My Girl and I visited your establishment in Schererville Sunday 11/14/21 @ 11:17 am. We were met with a nonchalant waitress (easily ignored) However, when It can to ordering; the waitress came off as detached and didn't really care to explain anything about the meal details or what was included. the waitress was very reluctant about asking if we were even done ordering; she just grabbed the menus and walked off as if we had wronged her or something (we just got seated). I asked my girl did we do something to her to offend her or something, and we both agreed; we just sat down and began to order. When the waitress arrived at our table, the waitress brought whatever was wrong with her to the table. As the waitress begins to bring the food out, she only brought some of the order, as she literally shoveled the food on the table and walked away; if she would have asked if the order was ok, she would have learned half the things we ordered weren't included with the order. So I waited to see if the waitress would have noticed the order was still incomplete; so a few minutes later, my girl flagged her down to let her know parts of her order were missing. Still, with an attitude, the waitress brings out pancakes! we did not order pancakes at all, so my girl told the waitress what she originally orders the waitress corrected my girl on what she actually ordered, and then we asked  "then why bring us something we never ordered" so at this point I'm getting aggravated (I never received the other half of my order, while the part she brought was incomplete) and my girl is also getting frustrated (we never experience this level of poor service from this Round the Clock located in Schererville; this was one of my favorite spots for breakfast and dinner). the service was so bad we refused to eat any of the food; I and my girl decided we wanted to speak to a manager as the service is ridiculous; so my girl started asking around to the hostess and other workers she saw to ask "who and where is the manager" and "No one" seems to know who or where the manager was. so while waiting my girl was talking with another customer who was experiencing similar issues also wanted to speak with a manager, the same rude waitress interjects herself into the conversation and my girl kelp asking where the manager and then I guess the woman who spoke was the manager was just as rude; and giving the excuse "well we're short-staffed" (which is fine, we never expected anything super fast just communication, common courtesy, and respect), so after the manager failed to resolve and de-escalate the situation we left and dined at Denny's, which were also short-staffed, However, provided excellent service where we also left a generous tip (we do not tip rude waitress). with that being said; until things change I will not spend money here, and will also pass my experience on to family and my friends as the service seems to degrade from the excellent standard it used to be. Always enjoyed the breakfast here back in the day. However, food quality has suffered dramatically. They serve food on plastic tableware now, which results in cold food. Ordered soup, and it was not hot, breakfast food also gets cold quickly when not on warmed glass plates. You will pay a premium still for the ambiance. The bacon actually tasted awful, Scrambled eggs were slimy. We won't be back. I will say that the place was very clean, and the service was excellent. read more

Greasssyyyy. Fries looked like they were old and thrown back in the fryer to heat up. I got a plate full of oil! Chicken wrap was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The plate was full of grease coming out of the wrap. No silverware provided so couldn't eat the chicken. Waitress forgot my soup and when I got it- no chicken in the chicken noodle. Just noodles. Stopped in here for brunch Lots of choices and very reasonable prices. Has the best lemon rice soup around.I would have to question their choice on the bacon that is place on the burgers.I would not being doing it justice if I said it was paper thin. I can just about see through it. Note to staff that reads these reviews BACON ADJUSTMENT NEEDED!!! They had half price burgers and free pie when we were there on a weekday evening). My husband ordered take out and it was the worst food we have had in Years!!! I had the chicken Alfredo. It was super bland, chicken not seasoned and overcooked, noodles didn't even taste good. I can't recall how many times I've been to this round the clock over the years. Well over a hundred times. The price is outstanding and the food is very constant for what it is. Your food will taste exactly like the same meal you had a previous time. My favorites are the Turkey bacon swiss club sandwich and the clock tower burger. read more

I was in Schererville with my mom this past weekend and she recommended we stop here because it was popular when she was growing up. The restaurant atmosphere was really cool. The restaurant was mostly wooden and had an older vibe to it. Our service was extremely nice and funny as well. However, the food was average. I had a skillet and it was pretty bland. My daughter and her friends went there late last night and received the worst possible service ever. The waitress Anna something only provided bad attitude like that's the service she's being paid to provide. When my daughter decided to write up a comment card the waitress had her boyfriend bully the girls at the table. They almost had to call the police. One of the two best RTC restaurants in the area! This location is my favorite. The service is top notch, the front of house manager is the best and of course the food is top notch. The new menu is fantastic, who can say no to gravy on an omelet? The prices are just right and the biscuits and gravy is like none other! I don't know if this is a chain restaurant, but I have seen a few of these places around. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and spacious. And the staff is very friendly. It has some old pictures for decorations which were fun to look at. Ordered the skillet breakfast, the serving size was not bad, buy it good have been a little bit hotter. With the cold weather outside and the doors being open, the food cooled fast. My only complaint was with the coffee service, the waitress would fill the cup only about half way. Which led me waiting for coffee a couple of times. Just fill it to the top! read more

After constantly visiting the highland 'round the clock for awhile, I figured this would be just as okay of a visit. Went there with my friend after not being in state for over a year, and was extremely disappointed with the service. Our waitress, Nora, was super rude, and really rushy about our meal. The food came out cold, and the skillet was over cooked. The only person who seemed to not be standing around was the bus boy. Sadly my friends want to come here from time to time. In my last review we got sick after eating here but there is a chance it wasn't the meal, so I let my friend know that I was fine with giving it another go. Really it's the only place other than fast food open late. The waitress we had was young this time and not attentive at all, but still friendly. The food was ok, but I had an Italian beef and the weird thing was that the bun had lines on it, it was crisped on a panini grill. Odd, but still ok. I asked for them not to season my fries and they were much much better!!! Crispier too!! What I didn't like to see--- employees standing around doing nothing, having loud conversations (not work appropriate ones) and paying more attention to each other than the guests. We had to hunt down butter for our rolls. My friend got 1 ONE drink, no refill... I had 1 drink and 1 refill, the glass was topped off with ice so there was barely any actual soda in it. When she handed us our bill she walked away so fast you would think we had the Ebola virus or something. We didn't have a second to ask her for one last drink. The other thing I didn't like-- coming here late is a hit or miss. Usually even if the place has several teens (what happened to curfews?) or college kids, or even drunks it can still be a quiet place. What I don't understand is when the place isn't very busy and there is the one table talking so loud you can't hear the person next to you. No one says anything? Why? When I used to come out with our friends when I was younger, the waitresses would tell us to quiet down a bit. This is usually our go to place for a late night dinner after work or breakfast on the weekend. The food is really good but the morning staff versus the evening staff is horrible. The morning staff is fast and always ready to accommodate your customer experience. However, the evening staffing needs more customer training and be more attentive to your patrons. We got seated by a the hostess and waited at a booth for 10 minutes and the restaurant wasn't busy. Some of the wait staff was congregating and talking and not realizing customers were waiting. Finally after we asked the hostess if anyone was was working, a waitress came by and got our drink order and told us that another waiter would be assisting us. Come on, she had one table. He took our order and didn't have a pen. We gave him one. Delivered our order and food was very good but consistent customer service is always a good asset. Upon paying our bill hostess said, I need to know if you're tipping on the card (rude tone) really? I just need change. We always tip 15% no matter what kind of service. I guess when the management is away in the evening everyone does their own thing. We will be back cause it's good, but hopefully service standards improve. read more

This is an old-looking place with great indoors! We visit them often because of their timings, and location and our limited options. But we're not a huge fan of their service. At times the order takes long and sometimes it is messed up too. It is really hard to find your waitress to amend things. Went this afternoon for lunch. Decent amount of parking outside. Our waitress was busy, but smiling and friendly. I usually say some goofy comment in restaurants and she laughed and had a retort. I ordered the 3rd shift burger, which is a third of a pound burger with shredded cheese, bacon, lettuce ,tomato, and fried egg. I also had an order of onion rings and a baked potato. Soup or salad, I had the salad. It was fresh and the dressing good. The burger was tasty, and cooked medium as ordered. The bun had melted butter on top, which I wasn't expecting. The baked potato was......bad. I mean gray inside. I showed the waitress and asked for another. The second baked potato was the same, leading me to believe they were made a day or two earlier and heated up, or were sitting in a warmer all day (it was 2 in the afternoon). The waitress was very polite, and asked if I'd like another side. I had mashed potatoes. They were ok. Nothing special, maybe boxed. The onion rings were delicious. Golden, and done perfectly. Dessert comes with it. I had Chocolate cream pie, which was fantastic. My sister had what she "always has". Chicken Strips with waffle fries. No complaints. I have been going to round the clock since I was a kid. Going in there as a young adult my boyfriend and I were treated as if we weren't going to tip and were a waste of time to our server. We are young so our server assumed we wouldn't leave her a tip so she didn't even put in effort. We saw her 3 times: a hello, took our order, and came back with the check. Only received one cup of water each with no refills and one napkin with the silverware after I tried to flag down our server 3 separate times. I am a server and normally leave 25% or more, I deserve to be treated with as much respect as your other tables no matter my age. read more
