The plate was full of grease coming out of the wrap. No silverware provided so couldn't eat the chicken. Waitress forgot my soup and when I got it- no chicken in the chicken noodle. Just noodles. Always enjoyed the breakfast here back in the day. However, food quality has suffered dramatically. They serve food on plastic tableware now, which results in cold food. Ordered soup, and it was not hot, breakfast food also gets cold quickly when not on warmed glass plates. You will pay a premium still for the ambiance. Stopped in here for brunch Lots of choices and very reasonable prices. Has the best lemon rice soup around.I would have to question their choice on the bacon that is place on the burgers.I would not being doing it justice if I said it was paper thin. I can't recall how many times I've been to this round the clock over the years. Well over a hundred times. The price is outstanding and the food is very constant for what it is. Your food will taste exactly like the same meal you had a previous time. My favorites are the Turkey bacon swiss club sandwich and the clock tower burger. read more

I was in Schererville with my mom this past weekend and she recommended we stop here because it was popular when she was growing up. The restaurant atmosphere was really cool. My daughter and her friends went there late last night and received the worst possible service ever. The waitress Anna something only provided bad attitude like that's the service she's being paid to provide. When my daughter decided to write up a comment card the waitress had her boyfriend bully the girls at the table. They almost had to call the police. I recently went to this restaurant with my mom and a good friend of mine...having gone here before for brunch, I figured the food would be decent. It was and for around $10, I got a Panini (turkey & cheese), soup (lemon rice...very good), fries, and choice of dessert...it was very good and filling. My mom had the Pepper Steak special with salad (they served the pepper steak in a big bowl and she ended up taking some of it home) , and my friend had the ham and cheese panini with salad as well. I don't know if this is a chain restaurant, but I have seen a few of these places around. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and spacious. And the staff is very friendly. It has some old pictures for decorations which were fun to look at. Ordered the skillet breakfast, the serving size was not bad, buy it good have been a little bit hotter. With the cold weather outside and the doors being open, the food cooled fast. My only complaint was with the coffee service, the waitress would fill the cup only about half way. This is usually our go to place for a late night dinner after work or breakfast on the weekend. The food is really good but the morning staff versus the evening staff is horrible. The morning staff is fast and always ready to accommodate your customer experience. However, the evening staffing needs more customer training and be more attentive to your patrons. We got seated by a the hostess and waited at a booth for 10 minutes and the restaurant wasn't busy. Some of the wait staff was congregating and talking and not realizing customers were waiting. Finally after we asked the hostess if anyone was was working, a waitress came by and got our drink order and told us that another waiter would be assisting us. Come on, she had one table. He took our order and didn't have a pen. We gave him one. Delivered our order and food was very good but consistent customer service is always a good asset. Upon paying our bill hostess said, I need to know if you're tipping on the card (rude tone) really? I just need change. We always tip 15% no matter what kind of service. I guess when the management is away in the evening everyone does their own thing. We will be back cause it's good, but hopefully service standards improve. read more

Went there with my friend after not being in state for over a year, and was extremely disappointed with the service. Our waitress, Nora, was super rude, and really rushy about our meal. The food came out cold, and the skillet was over cooked. The only person who seemed to not be standing around was the bus boy. Sadly my friends want to come here from time to time. In my last review we got sick after eating here but there is a chance it wasn't the meal, so I let my friend know that I was fine with giving it another go. Really it's the only place other than fast food open late. The waitress we had was young this time and not attentive at all, but still friendly. The food was ok, but I had an Italian beef and the weird thing was that the bun had lines on it, it was crisped on a panini grill. Odd, but still ok. I asked for them not to season my fries and they were much much better!!! Crispier too!! What I didn't like to see--- employees standing around doing nothing, having loud conversations (not work appropriate ones) and paying more attention to each other than the guests. We had to hunt down butter for our rolls. My friend got 1 ONE drink, no refill... I had 1 drink and 1 refill, the glass was topped off with ice so there was barely any actual soda in it. When she handed us our bill she walked away so fast you would think we had the Ebola virus or something. We didn't have a second to ask her for one last drink. The other thing I didn't like-- coming here late is a hit or miss. Usually even if the place has several teens (what happened to curfews?) or college kids, or even drunks it can still be a quiet place. What I don't understand is when the place isn't very busy and there is the one table talking so loud you can't hear the person next to you. No one says anything? Why? When I used to come out with our friends when I was younger, the waitresses would tell us to quiet down a bit. The food is less than mediocre. They charge too much for the quality of food and service you receive. The French toast had no taste to them. Sausage looked fried and old like it had been sitting out. Went this afternoon for lunch. Decent amount of parking outside. Our waitress was busy, but smiling and friendly. I usually say some goofy comment in restaurants and she laughed and had a retort. I ordered the 3rd shift burger, which is a third of a pound burger with shredded cheese, bacon, lettuce ,tomato, and fried egg. I also had an order of onion rings and a baked potato. Soup or salad, I had the salad. It was fresh and the dressing good. The burger was tasty, and cooked medium as ordered. The bun had melted butter on top, which I wasn't expecting. The baked potato was......bad. I mean gray inside. I showed the waitress and asked for another. The second baked potato was the same, leading me to believe they were made a day or two earlier and heated up, or were sitting in a warmer all day (it was 2 in the afternoon). The waitress was very polite, and asked if I'd like another side. I had mashed potatoes. They were ok. Nothing special, maybe boxed. The onion rings were delicious. Golden, and done perfectly. Dessert comes with it. I had Chocolate cream pie, which was fantastic. My sister had what she "always has". Chicken Strips with waffle fries. No complaints. I have been going to round the clock since I was a kid. Going in there as a young adult my boyfriend and I were treated as if we weren't going to tip and were a waste of time to our server. We are young so our server assumed we wouldn't leave her a tip so she didn't even put in effort. We saw her 3 times: a hello, took our order, and came back with the check. Only received one cup of water each with no refills and one napkin with the silverware after I tried to flag down our server 3 separate times. I place an order at this restaurant and I received a notification that my order would be delivered at a certain time. After 30 mins,my food never arrived and I decided to place a call to the restaurant to figure where is my food. The told me no one came to pick up my food. The manger then informed me to call Doordash. I called Doordash and I was told they can't find my order on their end and told me to call back the restaurant, I again call the restaurant and the manager keep on telling me that I can go ahead and cancel my order . At this point i was getting frustrated and told the lady go ahead and cancel the order and refund my money. She said I would have to on my end. There is not place to cancel the order all it says is if you have I decided to go to the restaurant e any issue with your order call the restaurant which I did. When i got there, I ask for a refund and the manager keep on telling me the same old story. I was tired of all this back and forth and I asked her again refund my money and I don't want this cold food that's been sitting out here for hours. The next thing she called the cops on me 2 Highland police officers showed up. What in a world is this? Calling the cops on me because i want my money back? This would be the last time I'm stepping into this place ever again, and the last time I'll be ordering from them (ROUND THE CLOCK). The Cops were nice and they told me to call my bank and asked them to decline the transaction and tell them I didn't receive anything from the restaurant. the Bank would reverse the charges. read more

I was in last night to get a bite to eat with my boyfriend. Our server was nice and attentive and the food was good. The problem I had with this place was the woman at the front end, Margerete. She was rude, condescending, and borderline abusive to the staff in front of customers. When we were cashing out at the front end, she yelled at a worker standing right next to me with such a condescending tone I stood there in shock. I'm a server in a restaurant and if my manager or any associate talked to me in that way I would quit. This used to be the place of choice for the family. Never again. Our experience started off positively enough - even on a Monday for brunch the place was moderately busy, but the staff seated our party of 5 promptly. That's where the good experiences ended. A party shortly after us came in and was seated with quite a bit of affection from the manager. They got serviced, ordered, and got brought drinks long before we saw our server again. Annoying, but I somewhat expect favoritism in a "family" restaurant business. No, where the real problem came from was the food itself. My wife had ordered a Western Omelette (Ham, Cheese, Green Peppers, Onion) which was by far the biggest offender. The cheese was undetectable on over half of the omelette, but the rest of the ingredients were at least present. Unfortunately, though, the egg was... how to put it... wet? Underdone, to say the least. My wife afterwards was sick off of that egg for the rest of the day. My egg and meal wasn't much better - I had ordered the Country Fried Chicken and Eggs. Thankfully, that's what they charged me for, but they brought me a Country Fried Steak. Not normally that much of a problem - I like Country Fried Steak, but this one had soggy breading and wasn't terribly satisfying. The sad part is, the Steak was better than the egg that I got, too - I ordered the egg over-hard, in part due to the reason above my wife suffered from, but what I got might have been a -passable- over-medium; it had a bit of run to it. My brother's banana nutella crepes were far more acceptable than much of the rest, as was my sister's corned beef hash, but both were far darker than they should have been (to the point of crispiness on the crepes). The pancakes my daughter received also were pretty dark overall. Normally, I excuse quite a lot of gripes - obviously I can gripe about a lot and pick out flaws from food pretty easily, but I don't bring restaurants down via reviews over them since it's easy to get a completely different experience than others will. But underdone eggs are unacceptable for ANY restaurant to serve to a guest. In short, check your eggs - make sure they are done before you eat them, It's something you shouldn't have to do, but it's better than getting sick over it. read more
